Psalm 63: What To Do When Feeling Spiritually Dry
About this episode
Spiritual dryness can feel like a personal failure. You look around and everyone else seems on fire, while you’re stuck wondering why your heart feels empty. Today we sit in Psalm 63 with David in the wilderness of Judah, and we let Scripture name what many believers are afraid to say out loud: “My soul thirsts for you… in this parched and weary land where there is no water.”
We walk through David’s words and notice how he responds when he needs more of God. He doesn’t start by beating himself up. He starts by magnifying who God is, remembering what God has done, and choosing praise even before the feelings catch up. We talk about why thinking deeply about God is real worship, how revisiting your testimony can be one of the fastest antidotes to spiritual dryness, and why singing worship songs can pull your focus back to the presence of God.
Then we get painfully practical. If you can scroll for an hour but can’t find five minutes for prayer, you may not be broken, you may just be unfed. We share a simple plan to cut the noise for a day, replace distraction with meditation on God’s goodness, and let your soul “eat” again through prayer, Bible study, and worship.
