In the special exclusive edition of the Jet Set Noon podcast, myself, Camp Hoytrist, Jim Toath, and Tyson Ruicki, discuss if Toronto may believe Daryl Sittler's 10-point record night on February 7th, 1976 against Boston will ever be broken.

We discuss. Well, well, well, well, well, for this isn't the guy who said, if he could score 83, I could. I don't know about that, Jim. No, seriously, if he could score 83, I could. No disrespect to Bam. But if he could score 20, I could score eight. Yeah, why not? I shouldn't say that. That's pretty good. Bam's good. Bam's good. But he's not. I'd look up a pronouncer for his name today because I'm like, who is this guy? Well, the former rat. I was listening to CGOB post game show. I didn't even know he played for the rat. I'm not a big NBA guy. I don't believe in it. I have the headphones of the old, this is like, hey, Jim on his way to bed. And Alexis is like Hunter is working, and he's like, hey, Jim, but he's working, and he's like, but Jim, Jim, he's like, Hunter, and I'm like, and he just blows out band on record 83. And I literally took the headset off while our Neil was talking. I said, what? The former raptor, and he's like, yeah, and I'm like, let me see this.

I'm stunned. It's, I mean, he's actually never, he'd never played for, he's only ever played for the late time. Yeah. And he played for the, see, this is how obscure this guy is. Well, the raptor's trying to grab him or something. Yeah. He was a Masaiji really liked them coming out of the draft. I mean, bam, like, bam is like the epitome of what is, is to be a Miami, he, you know, after D-Wade left, like he is kind of, he's kind of in the face of the franchise. I shouldn't disrespect him because I know his name. I know of him. I know the raptors at one point were very interested in him. I thought he, he did play there for a while, but that's the extent of what I know. I know he's a good player. Don't get me wrong. I'm disparaging him. I couldn't do anything. You know what? I'm sending him this audio. It is really funny. And he's going to say, always going to do say back is check the, check the game sheet. No, he's going to say, I will fly you down here if you want to do this. And he says, yeah, I will. And I'm going to happily take a flight to Miami. Do I go lose 83 to nothing and embarrass myself for a trip to Miami? Yes, I do. Bam is like, I mean, bam's a great player, one of the best like all around players in

the NBA. But he literally doubled his career high yesterday, his career high was 41 and he doubled it. This is like that's how you can say something before we go forward. If he could get 83 in the era that will Chamberlain got 100, all I've ever heard from Tyson Rauiky is the conspiracy, the conspiracy theorist that he is. He doesn't believe that game ever even happened. So after in today's NBA, that's right. I forgot. Bam could get 83. Why the heck couldn't we'll Chamberlain in that era get 100, he could have done it easily. I got 400 in there. I didn't did some digging after that having said, I was like, you know what, I don't really actually know about the story dark web. Do you know that in the fourth quarter, the forget who they were playing, but they were just fouling nonstop. They were fouling other players, they're like, we say with bam, all they did was foul them in the fourth quarter. But they were like, we are not going to let Will Chamberlain get the ball.

And so they were just fouling members of their team. They were trying to run out the clock. And so what Will's coach did was that because they wanted to get him 100. This that game, to be fair, like as bad as Bams, like you look at the defense I was playing and how he stayed in Will Chamberlain, Will Chamberlains is just as bad because the coach, their whole team's objective was to get him to 100 points that game. And the coach started fouling the other team when they got over half court so that they would be able to get the ball quicker. They would shoot the free throws and they get the ball back and give it to Will Chamberlain. Yeah, it happened March 2nd, 1962. It was a 169 to 147 victory Chamberlain was against the New York Nixie's playing for the Philadelphia Warriors who eventually became Golden State. First of all, who scores 162 to 147 points in the fifth in the 60s? That's why because they just kept fouling each other. And so he shot 36 of 63 from the field. That is horrible.

And he scored 130. Yeah, and he had 28 of he was 28 of 32 from the free throw line. What is that? That's just over 50% from the free throw. There is only 4,124 people at the game. All conspiracy theorists. Well, here's the thing about Kobe Bryant. I don't believe it happened. I'm actually home with. I remember watching that Kobe Bryant 81. And I think they won 1202 to 107. He gets the raptors. I know that he needed to stay in that game. Like even the 1202,107, it was tight till the end. So he needed to literally, I would argue, 70 to 75 of those points he needed from him to win the game. I didn't see that last night in the highlights. I saw a guy who could have left in the third quarter and not played again. And they would have won that game. I didn't play Thompson could have done it to you. When he had 73 and Steve Kerr pulled him out with like five minutes left in the third quarter. I'll tell you, was 73? Even all the players were like, dude, we're killing this team.

Let's just pass the claim and get him on. 73 is a, do you just like leave him out there when you're beating a team that bad? Yes. I don't care. I don't care. I don't care. That's an all-time moment. Who cares about the other guys on the other side? Well, why do you pull him with 73 then with five minutes left? Because he's the steepest, the steepest, the steepest, the steepest person nicest guy ever is what he is. He's a purist and it's like, that's a purist. It should have been like, but all the players are like, he should have played. Of course. No, just listen, listen, they're adults on the other side. They're getting paid. Fowl them then. You know, you're literally, you're the option to, to stop up. This isn't, you're not playing, this isn't, this isn't, this isn't, I'm not, this is for me. I'm the same in the NFL. He's in, Tidley Winx out there. And then this is pro ball. I'm the same in the NFL. Get him. They start putting backups in it. It's like, hey, you're in the NFL. Get a stop. Oh, you know, they, they ran up this corner us. Oh, they beat us up real bad. Boo. Yeah. Oh, no, but my tears will be 50 million too. Oh, like NBA players, I love the NBA, but they, there's players need to stop.

Like they're so entitled to. Now this leads to it at, we're going to come back to hockey here. Darryl Sittler. had his 10 point game. Yes. 11. No, it was 10. It was 10. He's played for the Leafs. It was against Boston in the 70s, I think. I actually pulled the actual thing. Yes. No one else has ever gotten nine, either. I don't believe I believe. Now I'm not mistaken. Didn't Sam Gawney have an 8.9? I remember I was in Drayton Valley at that point. So it was probably 2011. Yeah, I think he was the last guy. The last guy to get 8 points was Sam Gawney. And so I was doing that. Just raises the question. We were talking about Wilk Chamberlain's 100 point record. Do you, February 7, 1976? Do you ever see someone getting 11 points in an NHL game? I guess it could. If Sam Gawney had got 8, then it's like, you have to, first of all, it has to be a total fluke. Yeah. Like for you to get to 11 points, you have to be, you just have to get lucky. No, just respect. But Sam Gawney had got to 8. There was some flukeiness all of that. Well, that's without a doubt. Yeah.

And that was included like an empty net or two. So it's like, you're getting those garbage time points at the end and you still only got to 8. Like, you know what I mean? You almost have to, it has to be such a crazy game where it's like 9 to 8 every, every puck is going in the net. Every puck is going in the net and you happen to also get secondary assists, puck bounces in off to you. So yeah, I think it could be beaten. I think it's more of the bounces. It's unlikely that it'll be beaten, but it could be beaten. And it would, it would just be, it would be a surprise and it would just be everything just goes somewhere. I mean, you essentially, you essentially have to get a point every five minutes. That's true. Yeah. That's. Yeah. So like you're getting two shifts in those five minutes. Get to a lot of it. I mean, you would need somehow, like you would have to have like, maybe there's a five-minute major and you're on the power playing, you get two to three goals on that. Yeah. And then, you know, you're whatever regulation, you get a deflection. I don't know, but every time we say this, then it happens, right?

Like, does anybody believe that Kale McCart or the Conor McDavid couldn't get 11 points in a game? Oh, yeah. I mean, it would have to be like, I mean, the others play Vancouver, but it wouldn't be like now because I think now if they were up six nothing, then Conor McDavid would miss a few shifts or you got to stay healthy. But if you, the first month of the season go into Vancouver and it's six nothing, you're not going to start resting Conor McDavid with Kale McCart or the stars have to align. And it would be, if somebody got 11, man, like, holy moly, like it could, it could happen. It could. It's not impossible. Well, the other thing is. But it's very, very unlikely. The other thing about the 11 is somebody would, some team would have to score 11 goals. Like, you'd have to win 11 to something. Yeah. And you'd have to factor it on every single goal you have to be on the ice for every single one of those goals. I guess a better question is, could one team in the NHL beat another team by 11 or 12? Or not by, but like 11 to four for sure, I think they would have to also be a tight game.

Because as you said, those like an empty netter or something like that, the only way you could work to is if you had like back to back five minute majors and you had a five on three for like almost a full five minutes. Well, recently Buffalo and Tampa Bay play the next time the game has three game is conduct. So they're down to three defensemen recently, Buffalo, Tampa Bay played to an eight seven game. You would have to get in that back. And that's eight seven. The reason I say eight seven because there's one goal game. So you're going to get to play in everybody. Could you get to a 11, nine game or an 11, seven game because I would presume by the time it's 10 seven, you're calling off the docs and it's like, ah, it's just that eight to like eight seven. You still need three more goals. If it's eight one or eight two, you're not playing a lot. If you've got eight points, if it's eight one or two, but if it's eight six, you're still playing a lot. But once it's 10 seven, you're probably not playing a lot.
