Napoleon Beazley

About this episode

On the surface, 17-year-old Napoleon Beazley appeared to be an all-American kid. He was a star athlete in both football and track as a senior at his high school in Grapeland, Texas. He came from a good family, and his classmates elected him as the senior class president. But, under the surface, Napoleon was much different than the persona that he showed to everyone. Reports had him dealing crack cocaine and carrying a gun. He began telling friends he would soon be driving a Mercedes to school. On the night of April 19, 1994, Napoleon, along with Cedric and Donald Coleman, set out looking for a Mercedes to carjack. They followed 63-year-old John Luttig, and his wife Bobbie, into the driveway of their home. John was shot dead, all for an automobile.

Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the brutal and senseless crimes committed by Napoleon Beazley. His cohorts painted him as the ringleader and the triggerman. The physical evidence left little doubt that he was at the crime scene. He was convicted and given a death sentence. The case brought out many people who thought it was wrong to execute someone who was only 17 at the time they committed their crimes. Find out what happened to Napoleon as well as his partners in crime, brothers Cedric and Donald Coleman.
