1:00a Friday. What's going on, Marcus? What's up, homie? Shall we live it? Oh, we'll live in good. So we're yet with the Warriors right now. Good win last night. Some people are saying it's the win of the year. You know, nice win. I think that it looks a little different if Kevin Durand makes some of those free throws. But a lot of injuries going on right now with the team, no, no poor Zingles will see if he plays tomorrow. A lot of love in mystery going on right there. Just where you at with the Golden State Warriors right now with a 32 and 30 record. You say where am I at with a little loose? Oh, we could do that too. And I figured out we could do that too if you prefer right now, man. They they I'm getting back in the mix. I'm getting back in the saddle. You know, they're right where they've been and laying, you know, needing, uh, needing some things to go right in order for them, you know, to get ahead of some teams. I mean, like, if you just decide, all right, they're playing teams and this is who they are. They got to they got to figure out a way to get into the playoff.

2:01They're actually they're actually in a pretty good spot. Uh, you know, provided theft comes back, you know, they're fighting, they're getting some they're getting some new performances from people on the bench who like, you know, you imagine we'll come in handy. You've got to put it out of your mind like, all right, this is the deep run they were talking about. You just creep them like the team, you know, who they've been essentially a play in team who could be dangerous, you know, if they get thefts back and if somehow for zingers get you anything, you could see them being scary. They think they probably went a series and two that like that's that's where they are. That's who they've been. It's a different than where they, you know, where they've been for the last four years now. Do you expect the zinger to, uh, to be a warrior next year? I think we, I think we want to give them all the work, uh, and it's possible considering like if he doesn't come back and play or if he doesn't play much, it certainly makes

3:04him cheaper next year, right? Certainly you, you know, you stand to reason like, hey, give me more time or Rick Celebrini. All right. We'll take, take it, take a significant pay cut and you can rebuild with the words they've done that before. So it's hard to tell on that front like the question is whether he can play any, can he play any sustained amount of time like to me, we, the question is not where these with the words. It's whether he can be a regular NBA basketball player again. I think he's got to show that. And if he does, then, you know, you could see a universe where other words like him and keep him. He tends to win where he goes, if he plays. And that's a big if right now because the only time we've seen him is that first game out of the All-Star break against the Boston Celtics and he's questionable for this weekend or tomorrow against OKC, but right now, Mark is, I mean, the trade looks bad. It's not really because of what Kaminga's doing with the Hawks, but what you're not getting from Chris Daps for Zingas.

4:04So my question is, why is this injury a mystery for the Warriors? Is it more a mystery to us because we're not being told what's going on? There's reports of the pots illness, but is it a mystery to us because the Warriors don't want everybody to know what's going on? But is it also a mystery to the Warriors themselves? 6:06Rick Celebrini knows what it is. Right? Yeah. They know what they're up against. The part that surprises me just as watching from Italy is why this might come as a surprise at all. It feels like you train for porcelain, you train for the possibility that he might not play. That's what it is. So the fact that it seems like they might be a little surprised by this was an interesting development, but I think it probably was a little bit of both where they thought, you know, usually typically they can, they can work some magic and get a guy back on the court. And sometimes, you know, people aren't playing because they want to leave, you know, or it's like, I'm hurt because I don't want to be here anymore. I don't know if that was for a zinc and situation, but there are a lot of factors to where sometimes the guy's hurt. You get straight in that way. Fine. So perhaps they thought it was going to be a little bit of that, but also just do this always hurt. So yeah. If you were banking on him, you had a problem anyway.

7:08You know, I know this warrior team is really, really, really exciting, but how about, you know, a little question on Italy, what do you think of Italy? I mean, seriously, you're over there covering the Olympics. This is probably your first time to Italy. What do you think of it? What do you enjoy and love about Italy? Rome was the best part, like hitting up the Colosseum, you know, like walking the ground with the gladiators, Rome, you know, the Vatican was cool, like, you know, seeing like the world's largest church at the St. Peter's Basilica, you know, snuck a photo at the, I probably shouldn't be telling it, you know, the photo at the 15 chapel, but I think about the one little, you know, selfie up at the roof, you know, so Rome, Rome was lit to me. The food was great. It was a very, it was a very welcoming vibe, like Rome, you could tell they're used to

8:08people from all over the world coming, but line was all work. Bad hours of sleep, cold skating rinks all day. That was my struggle. I earned Rome in Milan. Nice. Nice. Well, good to hear you're enjoying yourself over there. Hey, the last couple of games, Pgemsky's just absolutely killing it. He obviously has a pretty high opinion of himself, when you look at some of those quotes, I mean, he's comparing himself, oh, you know, all this glowing talk about staff and this and that. It's like, bro, just play ball. We'll see how it all shakes out. Are you surprised that the level he's getting to? What are you and what did you envision for him coming into the league and compared to where he is right now? Yeah, I didn't think I didn't envision this much. I mean, his ripy year, he was really good. Yeah. And last year was a bit of a struggle, but I think he is showing, he's, it's so interesting his situation on the heels of Dominga because positive, essentially, the proof of what's

9:14possible when you can go out there and play freely. Like he's just going to get the minutes. And without stress, without Jimmy Butler, you could tell he knows he's going to get shots. Like, he had a couple, he had a couple of shots to the fourth, four or a half blind. That was like, hey, that's what I could do. Who feel like he wanted to one and we know how I speak the ears, right? You think he's a superstar in the making, but that like some of those talks where you got a little dicey, you thought they were going to lose the game and Katie's on the other side. He comes down off the screen and hit a step back three or drive, be Katie off the dribble and get to the rim. That was confidence and, you know, he's going to be up for an extension this summer. So it's just interesting. Like, Camiga, you see what's happening to him because he's getting to play and positive got to play the whole time. So if there's anybody who should be able to step up in this moment, it is for Jim Steve because he's been playing the entire time and that's what matters, confidence matters

10:17a lot in his league and he's never been shy of it. It's all going to Marcus Thompson on the Uma Guest line. If we are taking the Warriors for what they are right now as a play and team and we'll see when they're healthy with Steph Curry and Krystaff's, I mean, Krystaff's for Zingus, how valuable have the additions been of Al Horford and Anthony Melton this off season? Huge, like, state, this is, they're the tank antidote. The Anthony Melton and Al Horford are antidotes for taking because if they have those guys, the smart move will be to take. Steph have a seat. Jremyne. You see Jremyne's elbow is all swollen, it's like he's got elbow over his side. Like, I'll sit those guys down in a heartbeat and start taking it. But Melton and Horford keeps them in the game. They keep them viable, they keep them like competitive, that depth, I want to throw D Santos in there too, even though he's not a new addition. But remember, we were thinking like, oh, Steph Curry's going to be huge, but it was Melton and Al Horford, the very guys that we thought from the beginning would be different makers.

11:21So I think they've been huge because you just can't have lost seasons with Steph. If you don't, if you don't get nothing else, just get Steph in a playoff series, right? If you can't do anything else, you've got to do that. And the Anthony Melton and Al Horford, they're giving them a chance to do that. Like, that is massive for the words because in the end, right, you've got to get that playoff gate, you've got to get at least a series, right, of some playoff revenue streams coming in. Because if there are going to get somebody, they're going to need to pay a bunch of money and they already are paying a bunch of money. So Melton has been huge for the Warriors and especially down the stretching games. Marcus, first of all, I was in joy, you're reporting and I think you do an amazing job. Have you ever gotten Steph to kind of let his hair down a little bit and take you behind his curtain? Because I really would love, there's been a lot of people, a lot of people saying a lot of different things. So that, you know, the Warriors have let Steph down in the twilight of his career.

12:24Some people with the Warriors have said to me, hey, we're done winning our titles. And I just kind of wonder, how do you think Steph views? He seems like he's got a lot of career left. And I don't know that he can win anymore here. And yet he's got this beautiful family and he's established here. Do you think he wants to go to the finish line here, even if it results in nothing? Or do you think he would like that one more trip to the finals in the twilight of his career, even if it wasn't here? Do you guys ever talk about that kind of stuff when you get a chance around him? Well, you know, if he ever said he was willing to leave, that would be in the athletic. Already. Sure. That's a massive hit line. But even off the record, even off the record, you know, you could wish me. He's off the record, I ain't saying it. If it's off the record, I can't say it, but I think the thing about Steph is,

13:26he just all he wants to know is that the team is interested in winning. I even think though if they just said, hey, we're going to start over, right? We're just going to start over and we want you to be a part of that, obviously. And we're just going to read tools. I think that's the moment where Steph will have to decide who wants to stay. And I think he stays. I think it matters to him to do the thing where he finishes and his career, right? It finishes career with the word. I think he wants that. That's a big deal to him. And as long as they are making a good faith effort to continue, I think you can explain anything that's best because like even now he's going to, he's already looked. They're not going to win championships, right? And he's already telling us right now, hey, man, I'm coming back. Like because he can tell himself in his mind, well, alright, let's just make a run then. Let's just see. Like if anybody can get back to what he finds the center as well as any athlete, right?

14:29He'll find a perspective that makes him okay with it. I think that if they just decide we don't want to win and we're going to, we're going to not like beat the bush until we get like something valuable. That I think that's where he probably get frustrated. But there's just been no sign. I mean, there's been, there's been no sign that he's gotten to the point where he's like, I don't believe in their efforts. I'm going to leave. And it's just hard to, it's hard for them for him to have that fence when they just trade it for Jimmy Butler, right? And they just tried to get you on it. So to me, as long as they are trying, Steph, Steph's got it. But I do think he really, really values playing for one team in his entire career. Like that's going to be big for him. He's one of the Colby guys. That's how Colby did it. And in the end, if he walked away with just four championships and that legacy, I don't think he'll be mad about it. 15:31And Steph actually told him, I guess, that he'd be willing to come off the bench later in his career, kind of do like a Ray Allen thing. When, when you hear that, though, does that sound like something he would do for the Warriors with all he's accomplished in his career, something he would do with the contending team is looking for some three point shooting. I just, with the Warriors like that, that's crazy though. I think, I think, is it? I mean, when he's done so much for them, and now, and now he's coming off the bench, I see that for Dremel, I see that for Clay, but not for Steph Curry. But if he wants to keep playing, you think you want to move his family to like another place so he can go chase the title? Yeah. I just don't think he's wired in the way to just go, OK, I'm going to go hunt. I mean, if anybody, like who career ends this, who the career doesn't end this way? Who's the great? Michael Jordan walked away. He came back and he was with the winners. He was a winner championship. Right. If anybody knows, this is how careers go.

16:31Like very, very easy. You get to go out holding the trophy over your head. Like Steph understands that he just want to be in the game and a mix for it. So I do think, and they've talked about this. They are invested in the Warriors. Like, him and Dremel, they want the Warriors to win another championship. Like, I see the version of Stephs that wants to stay around with the team and some capacity, right? Recruiting stars to the team, right? You start seeing all these, these legends around their franchises. These guys want to be that, right? They want to be a part, they want to be a part of it. So if he's on the bench and they're rebuilding something else and they didn't draft it some youngster or went and got this guy. Like Stephs, he's a warrior. Like if even if he went for a couple of years, he probably don't want to come back and do the same thing anyway. But I just think they really value this. That's what Dremel was shook when he thought he was getting traded. Right?

17:32Yeah. It was all good. But he was actually in the mix. He was like, oh man, he was shook. Dave all talked about, even when we're done, we want this team to win a championship. We want to recruit players. We want to be in the mix. Like that's what, that's what I heard from them. Anything else will be, you know, a change in process. Marcus, I know you, I know we got to go. I told Danny we were, I had no more questions, but you just jogged a thought. Is there any chance that the replacement for Steve Kerr will be Dremel and Green? Oh. No. I don't know. Joe Jacobs said that. What's about a time though, Dremel? I think he's sure going to coach. I just don't know when. Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, I don't know either too. If you give Dremel and his first job is the head coach. Yeah, like, you know what I'm saying? You put them on a bench or something first, but also like I hear like Dremel.

18:34There's a part of him that makes a perfect coach. Or like you could see him doing it. He's just the multi interest. You know, he's got a lot of interest. He can go front office. I think to be honest, I think he's going to want to go TV. Yeah, I think he wants to go beyond TV first. Yeah, he's going to be a TV star. He want to be on a network. Whoever it is, if it ain't TNT. Like that is the lane. He's been pushing it for it. Like, I don't think he's doing. I don't think he's doing the. There's very much agree show to prepare to be a coach. Like that. Yeah. That's what we could sit on TV somewhere and make that TV money. Yeah. I'm sorry. That's what you said. Marcus should we. You could be at the Alessolue celebration and Oakland on Thursday. I thought it was my celebration. Well, he could be both. I thought they were celebrating my coverage of an Alessolue.

So I almost feel like he just want to do what he likes to do. Does he like to be the architect and put a team together as a general manager? I mean, that seems to
