Iran strikes Bahrain & Kuwait experts examine ceasefire state

Today Explains

About this episode

The fragile interim ceasefire between the United States and Iran is currently in severe crisis but technically salvaged following an intense weekend exchange of military strikes that spilled over into Bahrain and Kuwait. Despite threats from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to enforce a "complete halt" to peace talks, U.S. and Iranian officials reached an agreement on June 28, 2026, to halt the active hostilities and return to the negotiating table in Doha.
