During her sixty-year musical career she was a forceful voice for women at a time when that wasn’t often seen. Megan Alexander looks back at her life. And a domestic dispute call turned terrifyingly violent when a man grabbed his baby and used it as a human shield during a confrontation with police. It was a tense standoff before the child was rescued. Plus, he says he did what any son would do for his mom. She says she’s beyond proud of her son. Now, we’re hearing from the wheelchair bound woman who was rescued from rising flood waters just in the nick of time. She spoke with Ann Mercogliano. And family weekend is supposed to be a joyous occasion for the families of students experience college life away from home. But now one has ended in tragedy, after a father visiting his son was gunned down in a random shooting.
