About this episode

It's a terrifying ordeal - a woman arrives home to find two thieves inside. They beat and pistol whip her. Here she is today, her face still badly bruised. But what has her most upset is the thieves took her most prized possession. And it’s the interview that didn't happen because a reporter stood her ground. CNN's Christiane Amanpour was set to interview Iran's president in New York. He insisted she wear a headscarf and Amanpour, who was born in Iran, politely refused. As Ann Mercogliano reports, the president then stood her up. Plus, 25 years ago before school shootings became an epidemic, a then 14-year-old opened fire inside his high school killing three classmates. Now he's seeking parole in what's believed to be one of the first known instances of a school shooter possibly leaving prison. And what are the odds that two people working at the same hospital would turn out to be mother and son without either of them having any clue they're related? Well, as Jim Moret explains, it happened.  To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices.
