“I’m Sorry” Final Words From Oldest Inmate Executed In FL; Should There Be An Age Limit On Executions?
About this episode
It was an extraordinary day on Florida’s death row, two inmates executed in one day, and one of them was 80-years-old. A massive debate is underway on whether or not our country should be executing elderly inmates. Florida has set three separate records this summer, executing the oldest inmates in that state’s history. The Supreme Court set an age limit on how young a criminal can be before facing a death sentence, should a similar limit be in place for older inmates, allowing them to essentially age out of the death penalty?
