Hitch says we heard a lot when Flino is out about how the team clearly misses presents. Not just on the ice, but at practice and in the locker room. But what's preventing him or any other injured player from being around the team while they recover? Obviously, they can't be on the ice, but are they restricted from being in the locker room during game intermissions or on the bench at practices? No. Knick Flino was actually around several practices in the room and just street clothes after practice, but just being on the ice is different.

2:01Yeah. So for injured players, we're seeing it with Frank Nasar currently. He skates on his own before practice or sometimes after or before a more in skate. So he's not on the ice with the team. So that means if, let's say, for example, if Frank is going to go for a practice session tomorrow before tomorrow's practice, he'll get dressed before everybody else. He'll be on the ice by himself. And then when he's done, he goes into the room when everyone's already out of the room on the ice and all that stuff. Different injuries sometimes will call for different treatments, whether it's, you know, you're getting tests done or you're doing stretching or strength training or anything like that. You're doing that on your own. So while they, a lot of times are still, quote unquote, in the building, it's not the

3:06same. You're away from the normal routine where all the rest of the players are at. Most injured guys will still go to the games if they're mobile enough. But yeah, and so it's just, it's just not quite the same. And if you're, you know, if you're not in a game, you're not on the bench during the game, you're likely not in the locker room during intermissions. You might go before the game and after the game, but intermissions you might, you know, either stay in a box for, you know, the team team suite or something like that, or you're up in the press box hanging out in the third row behind us. So in intermissions, you're not, you know, rallying the guys are talking with anybody. Like it's, it's just a different game feel. So I think, you know, having those guys be away from that normal routine, not only impacts them, like for a lot of players, say like when you're hurt and it's like a long term thing, it's a very lonely, like hockey life because you're not with, you're basically not with

4:08the team. But it's, it's just not the same. So some guys, like a full, you know, I'm sure would still be able to interject and talk. And yeah, when they're off the ice, they're hanging out as they probably normally would. It's just not the same. And I think that that impacts anybody. I think that term lonely is accurate because injured players treat the rehab like a practice almost where, yeah, while the guys are on the ice working, I am off the ice rehabbing. And like you said, every injury is different, like Nick Falino with a broken wrist or whatever it was, like there's only so much you can do. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it just needs time to heal. Whereas if it's somebody with a muscle strain or something like that, those muscles can be worked. They can be stretched. You can do those sort of things and get back and hit the bike to make sure your endurance is up in those sort of things. But while the teams out there working, you're also working, but just separate from them. So it is a little bit different. But there's no rule that they can't be in the room, you know, after practice and stuff.

5:09In terms of games, I just think they injured players, just like you said, they're up in the press box watching. They're in street clothes and they probably just, I will say this, like if I was a player or two, I want inter-emissions to be focused on what are we going to fix? What are we going to change? What are we going to keep doing? Yeah. I don't think, and I don't want to say it would be a distraction to have an injury. I don't want to have a injury player in there, but I think it should, those two inter-emissions you get should be used to focus on the game at hand. So I think that the less interference in that regard, the better. Yeah, for sure. All right. Look at that. It didn't take a whole segment to get one answered. We're getting better. All right. P3 Arizona says, hello. What word would you use to describe the upcoming trade deadline? In some ways, this is shaping up to be one of the most interesting or important trade deadlines for Davidson, reasoning. There's a great chemistry, culture, and identity with this group, and so much good talent in the pipeline. There are some strong cases for not messing with the chemistry and identity of this group

6:09does not making any trade this deadline become one of Davidson's defining moments in the rebuild. Yes. If only in the case of you're in a playoff spot, and you have made the decision that this group is going to the playoffs, and that's a low likelihood. And I think this, if they're in a playoff spot, I know we've talked about this before, but if they're in a playoff spot, firmly, like number one wild card, or somehow top three of the division, which they're not. It's almost impossible. It's almost mathematically impossible, not quite, but almost. That's the only way that if I'm Kyle Davidson, I'm looking at the group, and I'm looking at the team, and I'm saying these guys deserve this push to the playoffs. They've gotten us here. We're going to go with it. If he doesn't move some, at least, of the guys that are on expiring deals when they're

7:15not in contention for anything, that's malpractice. I would think so too, and I'm not even so focused on the return. I'm more focused on making roster spots for young players that need to be here. And you know, we all had Samarins L penciled in for 82 games. It didn't work out that way, but I want them to have more than what he's got. I think this is an opportunity to figure out what Kevin Corchinsky is, and make a call on him, ultimately. And Anton Frandell, most likely, is going to be ready to play in Chicago this year. Frank Sarvali was on the pregame show last night, and he was asked about Will Frandell playing the NHL. He said, quote, without a doubt, provided that his team in Sweden doesn't go on an extended playoff run. So if your gardens doesn't get hot and make a deep run into playoffs, he is expected to come to the NHL this year, and for those that don't know, he's already signed. The Hawks could call your gardens today and say, we want him.

8:17We're calling him back right now. They could do that, but they could. They're not going to, but they they have the right to do that. So once that season is over, Frandell could be here right away. So for me, we've already had several discussions about, well, what does this roster look like when it's fully healthy? Frank Nezars back, counter Bidad's back. Last night, Colton Doc was going to be a scratch until Bidad got sick. Even in slagger to spend some time in Rockford already this year. So are you sending Nick Lardis down? It's hard for me to do. You're not sending all over more down. So you're going to add Frandell at least up front. So you kind of, I think the benefit of making a trade here is simply to open a roster spot. And look, if someone's going to give you a prospect back or a decent pick back for any of those guys, like for Dickinson, probably primarily, I'm listening. I really like Jason Dickinson. I thought he had a really good game last night against Conor McDavid. Like I think it's an underrated aspect that he can shut down really good players in his

9:20league. I mean, shut down for three points, but, you know, it's an average eye for McDavid. Sure. Yeah. But, you know, you've got to make space and he's an unrestricted for agent. You don't want to lose him for nothing. But I think you're right. If they're securely in playout spot, then you consider it. But maybe Doc has to go to the minors, maybe slagger has to go to the minors and you live with that. As these prospects get ready, there's going to be players that we all like that are going to be in Rockford or on other teams. People like Nolan Allen. Yeah. And, and, you know, for, for different reasons, he was part of a trade package. And that's just the reality that we're now facing as we've, as Kyle Davidson has accumulated all these draft picks and made these selections. And we've gotten excited about what these guys can become. Some of them are on a clearer path to the NHL or are already in the NHL and showing why that they why they were high end picks or why they were looked at as guys that could

10:24be part of it. And there's some guys that it's just a numbers game. It's going to be left behind. And if Nick Lardis or, you know, Kevin Quarchinsky or Sam Ranzell, if they're developing faster and providing more than slaggered or doc or, you know, dumbass show or whatever, then that's the case. Like all these guys as much as they're fun to watch and it's, you know, they're coming up together and they have a great camaraderie amongst the young guys in the group. Like it's still competition. There's only 18 skaters a night. There's only a maximum of 23 NHL roster spots. So if you have 50 of these young guys, half of them or more than half of them are not going to make it. So yeah, I mean, it's just going to, you know, there's just going to be that competition for NHL ice time, you know, looking at the SHL schedule. The final game of the regular season for Jeregarten is March 14th. There's still a full month of NHL hockey after that.

11:26Now, they've been having a good season. But with out knowing off the top of my head, how the SHL playoffs standings work out, I think right now they're in a playoff spot. I think they're like fifth in the league. So I'd imagine, you know, they're going to play some playoff hockey. I still don't think that that takes them out of the end of March. And if they don't win that first round or the first round process of the playoffs, you're still talking about post trade deadline and you're getting to third week or fourth week of March, which is still over two weeks, two, three weeks of NHL hockey left. All right. I've got your format here. It's a little complicated. I thought the team plays 52 games each before the six top place teams are directly qualified for the sweetest championship quarterfinals. Okay. Team seven will then face team 10 while team A, but we put up against team nine. I think the bulls are in the round of 16 and best of three matches.

12:27Teams 11 and 12 have finished playing for the season. Teams 13 and 14 will face each other in a best of seven matches. Team 13 has homegrown advantage. The winning team remains in the SHL and the losing team is relegated. Oh, I love that. In the sweetest championship playoffs, the quarterfinals, semi-finals and finals are played in best of seven matches. The team that wins the championship blah, blah, blah, blah, there you go. So really the playoff teams are. So top six are automatically. Top six are makes land. There's a play in for seven and then there's 11 and 12 out 13 and 14 play to prevent relegation. That's fun. I like that. But yeah, again, like I think I think where they're where they're at right now, I think is fifth. So I mean, they, you know, you could be talking about maybe that third week of march is their first playoff series. So once their season's over, should it not end after April 15th, the end of the NHL

13:28regular season, plan is he'll be here. So you got to have a forward spot open. I imagine they'll move probably Dickinson, maybe McKayev, you know, there'll be some defensive spots opened up because probably Murphy's gone, maybe Grizzlic, like there's going to be opportunities for guys to jump in right away at the end of the season, like we've seen Nazar do and Ranzelle and more and Ryan Green, like we've seen those guys do that. Also got a factor in. End of the NCAA season ends before the end of the NHL season as well. So Sashwaveir is in that conversation. It's been banged up for BU this year. I haven't heard too much about him. Yeah. He's been battling some injuries. He's healthy now, which is good. I don't think Nazar still is. No, I think he's going to play another year. I would think so. But he's been having a great year too. But just for the record, in 15 games this year with BU, Sashwaveir has 14 points, three

14:29goal 11 points. When he's been healthy and playing, he's been he's been solid. It's just he hasn't been healthy and playing a lot. Corey, with the $5 super chat, kind of on topic here, says everyone assumes Kyle Davidson sells. He's also trade prospects for an upgrade like Alex Tuck and extend him. Drake Patterson is also a UFA next year too. I get zero cents. He's doing any of that. Yeah, it just doesn't seem like something he is down to do. I'm not totally against it, but I think the time to make him a massive deal like that. Not the Drake Patterson would be a massive deal, but an Alex Tuck deal. I got to feel a little more ready to win before I'm making a deal like that. It is Buffalo selling that's the thing. I don't I've played their way back into a playoff picture and they've got new leadership. Yeah. And you've got a good you like if that they're in a playoff spot right now. Yeah. So I don't think they're looking to move on from Alex Tuck and maybe Alex Tuck is a little more committed to Buffalo now that they've made some some changes up top.

15:32So we'll see. I think it's a lot to assume. But I just might not be time yet to take that home runs wing. Yeah, I don't envision them adding even if they're in a playoff spot. Again, it just it seems like that's way down the line of very low likelihood of a path even we're going to even be talking about in a few weeks. All right. I'm not, I don't want to pick on spunky, but I just want to warn people to temper their expectations a little bit on trade returns for Dickinson, Murphy, McKay of Filino, I don't

18:42think you're training Filino, but if they do, I don't think you're getting anything quite that high. No, there is always a GM that gets desperate and does something crazy, so it's not completely out of the realm of possibility, but if I would say if you're setting your expectation as the second round pay for Connor Murphy, you're probably going to be disappointed. He's a guy with back issues, back issues, issues do not get better. That is not something that improves over time. It's just something you manage throughout your career, ask Eric Dasey, Connor Murphy's been healthy this year. Well, knock on wood and hope it remains. Great guy in the room, bright shot defenseman, which is more valuable than left. So there's, there are some things that there are some benefits to Connor Murphy that maybe guys on the other side wouldn't have, but I think a second is dream and big. Yeah, I mean, he's, he's not the top defenseman out there on the market, but he is, you know, pretty good second or third choice for teams that go up at the deadline looking for defensive

19:45help. And that's where you might get a little bit of an overpayment because of a team swings and misses on their first choice, then they go down their line and they say, oh, Connor Murphy, okay. Well, we really need this help. So here's an overpay. That could be, but again, it's Connor Murphy on our rental. Yeah. Like, you're, you're, you're not going to, you know, get your, your doors blown off by a Connor Murphy deal. Now, if a GM wants to offer you a first plus or whatever it ends up being, you gladly take it, but I don't think that that should be the expectation. And yeah, same for, you know, Dickinson and Mikaev, like those are really good on a contending team. Those guys are great, like third and fourth liners that aren't going to be playing 15, 16 minutes. Yeah. Like they are here. They're going to be, Mikaev will be even more of a special teams, fourth line energy guy, probably like 12 minutes or whatever Dickinson will

20:45likely be in a, in a similar role for contending teams. So they're not going to be giving up, you know, first second round picks for that. It'll be a little bit lower. And like, I would also say, like, don't expect. I would venture a guess based off of, you know, reading the tea leaves. I'm not expecting players back from trade deadline moves as far as like, oh, we're trading Dickinson and we're getting someone to replace him in the trade. Like, it sounds like it's going to be trades that eventually open up roster spots because not only are we talking about, as we said before the break, like maybe Frandel, you know, maybe somebody from college or junior steps in towards the end of the year. Those guys need spots. There's also guys in the AHL still that you could say, hey, let's give you a look to where we've continually said, like, when will Samuels have law get a, get a chance? Like, you probably probably has been around long enough that you could say for the specific type of hockey you play and the role that you could play. Let's see if you can do

21:50it in the NHL. That could be a route that they go and then, yeah, defensively as well. Like, you have Renzell down there, Stylia of Kurchinsky, you have Del Mastro, like, you want to see them play some more NHL games to get a sense of where they're at because most of those guys need new contracts, or it's just like, they're part of the future plans. Like, yeah, let's see where their progression is at. Spunky brought up the name Brandon Carlo as a look at the return. He got as your Brandon Carlo just turned 29. So, as you're the trade, he was 28. Conor Murphy is going to be 33 in March. And again, to the Leafs, right? You've got, yeah, you've got to imagine the trade history too, or the injury history too. I want to see what Carlo's contract was. So, okay, he was a UFA. So, he signed this, yeah, so he was, same situation. Renzell. Yeah, he was heading towards for agency. So, I don't know, a similar player, right shot defense been big, but significantly younger, and his new contract is less money than

22:56Murphy's current contract. So, yeah. There's, you know, there's more to it than that, but I'm just saying, look, Kyle Davidson got Spencer Knight and a first round, two first round picks for Seth Jones. So, I'm not taking anything out of the equation. Yeah. Two first round picks. Did he get one last year or two? He got, no, he got a pick this, he got this year's first first and Knight for Jones in like a, well, right, conditional force or something. Anyway, he got a first round pick and first round pick and a starting goalie. And only eight to an half million. Yeah. So, yeah, I mean, you could, you could see them eating. They have retention spots off and you could see them. It depends on how many guys are moving because if you're moving Murphy and Dickinson, you probably get a better return by eating both, but then there go your retention spots. Right. And, you know, but they're only gone until their contracts are up. So, right. Yeah. Sure. You don't need them next year. But if you're also trying to, if it's also in the plans to move. McKayev or Felino, you can't bend. Yeah. You would that not be able to. It feels

23:58to me like, McKayev's coming back. I mean, he'd be the guy, he'd be the guy that I would bring back. I think so too. Yeah. For sure. I think so too. And I know I think we have a question about it too, but like Felino, if he doesn't stick around, if he doesn't get traded, which I don't expect to happen. And he doesn't retire. He wanted, we want to run this back one more year. Like, I'd be okay with that. He's not going to make, I wouldn't say he makes four million again. But well, I mean, it wouldn't, I mean, it's not going to matter. It's not going to matter. He probably still could make four million. Yeah. Um, but yeah, I mean, I, I wouldn't be opposed to offering that to him if he was, if he was down for it. Yeah. Do we have that Felino already? You want to get to that one next, Sarah? There is one about, uh, there was a question about like him, uh, scenario, which he comes back. Oh, okay. That one. Oh, well, we get this paraphrase it. That's a question. Um, yeah, keep rolling through them. I don't think it's a zero percent chance that he would come back. Yeah, I don't, I don't think it would be zero either. Um, I think there's, he's been with this group, um,

25:04for a number of years now, he's been tasked with being like the hockey dad amongst the lock room. And he has said this season that he doesn't really feel like he's the dad anymore. Like he has actually a little bit more of like, he's a little bit more of like, you know, the older brother. And like, we've seen a lot of times, like guys say that they old, you know, players later into the career older guys, be around younger players and how that kind of just gives them a little bit of extra boost. And for a guy that's, you know, 38, uh, he would be 39 a month into next season. He's moving around pretty good. Like, yeah, the, the wrist injury sure that happens is, but it's not like, uh, it's not like, oh, man, this guy can't hang anymore. He's getting hurt. Like, it's, you know, it's a flute, a flute play. I mean, to me, it's, it feels like he probably has more hockey in him. How this comes down to, if he does, how does he want to spend it? Do you want to spend it rolling it one more year in Chicago where they might maybe could possibly be young and

26:09fun and fight for a playoff spot next year? Or would he say, if I got one more year, I'm doing it on a team that I know it's going for it. Um, that's like the one thing he hasn't done in his career is from from a Hawks perspective. Here's my fear is if he comes back, he is retaining the sea, which is fine. Doesn't have to. Well, I don't know. I think it'd be weird to reassign him and then take it away. Um, they did that in Toronto with Tavares. They did that a number of times in San Jose. Yeah. I think, I think if, if Felina were to be back and you were like, hey, you're going to be like one of those guys that Holman road flips the A and we're ready to move on to Conor being captain. I think he would understand that. Well, that, I mean, that's kind of, it's just a small part of my point. Like, the other point is like, it's a guy you hold in high regard. He at least was your captain. If 39 year old Nick Felina looks every bit of 39 next year,

27:13are you going to be comfortable sitting him for 10 days 20? You only mean like if, if this team is on a rise and all these guys are here and front L is a top six guy and Lardus is, you know, at a 30 point 30 goal clip and Frank days are picks up where he left off, right? Like and everything is going the way that we're all hoping it does. And you don't really have a space for Nick Felina. Are you going to be able to look at him and say, hey, thanks for signing here. But, uh, you know, we don't really have a spot for you in the lineup right now. So then you do him a solid and you, and you sure you're interested and you send him to, uh, another team that could be contending that that needs someone like him. Yeah. I think Nick very much understands the business of hockey. I think he knows what he signed up for coming to Chicago. Um, I think if, if, if he wanted to keep playing here, I don't think the black

28:15hawks would, would have any reservations about bringing him back. Um, it, I think at that point it just comes down to what does he want to do? And if he wants to retire and, and, you know, write off with this group and, you know, have a end of the year press conference where, you know, he's retires as captain and hands the jersey to the next captain or whatever and have his flowers? Like, by all means, like go for it. Like that's, uh, that would be fitting for him the way that he's stepped in and played this role for this group. Um, I would be fine with that too. I think there's a, there's a lot of ways that his next few months could go. All of them are justifiable from a black hawk standpoint. I would, I would say. Yeah. And I don't, uh, Nick doesn't strike me as a kind of guy who's going to, if he is out of line up for a set of period of time, he's going to throw a fan. I think he gets it. Um, but it's just something that I think would need to be clearly communicated is, hey, look, we love you. Like, we're better with you here. And, you know, maybe it's not in the same

29:19role that you've had since, since you got here, but we are interested in you at 39 coming back and being a mentor for these guys and helping us on the ice, because I, I do think he is still a, a valuable player. Maybe he can be, uh, assistant to the puck passer to Chris Kunitz. There you go. Yeah. That's one of these city hockey says the Flino does decide to retire. The hawks should try and make him, uh, on the coaching staff. If he wants to do that, sure. Um, I hope the hawks coaching staff stays what it is. I hope Michael Puckett doesn't leave. I hope Mike Fuji doesn't leave. I think they're all doing a really good job. Yeah. The special teams have been dynamite. Um, and I think we're all very pleased with Jeff Blaschle and Sorenson's clearly hitting some right buttons too. Yeah. Cause the young players of the young players have developed well and. Yeah, but JK says in the chat like a, like a player development role. They, to my knowledge, still have Kendall coin as a player development coach, uh, for the Black

30:20Hawks and she's actively playing in the P. W. H. L. So yeah, you can have a, you can have people in player development roles where they're not day to day in the offices on the road with the team, all that stuff. Like, um, that could be something that, you know, if the, if the hawks want to extend that to him and say like, we love you here and what you've been doing for the organization and, you know, your families here in Chicago, you want to stick around for a while. Give him that option. Um, absolutely. Would absolutely be fine with that. Uh, or make him an ambassador. Have him go sweet to sweet and, uh, kiss babies and sign autographs and, and be gregarious and friendly. If you had, if you had Chris Chalios and Nick Flino walking around talking to fans and stuff, that would be, uh, probably a fun experience for a lot of fans. Speaking of that, two people who are very, uh, who like engaging with, uh, with the, the, the fans. We've got our takeover coming on Monday. Yeah. We haven't really been high on a Panarin reunion. Just because it just doesn't, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I think we remember him fondly for his time in Chicago. I think you look at what he is in New York,

35:37the money he's making, the way he's talked about, and why would you come to Chicago for yes more money, but also for a team that's still on the outside looking in as a playoff contender. Now, does he make them better? Yes, he does. But is he the guy that puts them over the hump at 35 years old next season? He isn't done with the rangers. 15 million dollars. For 15 million dollars, I just think if I'm thinking like him, that really puts a lot of pressure on him. The money is great, but if he's not the same guy he was when he was here years ago, which he's not, that just opens himself to a lot of like boat anchor criticism. Yes, and let's be real to hockey aside. This is a guy who has a sexual assault settlement within the last couple of years. The hawks are not touching that with a 10 foot bowl. When you need very little off ice issues, when you hear stuff like this, it's sometimes tough

36:41to determine whether it is an actual rumor with sourced like, hey, I talked to Panaren's agent and he said, maybe this would be a possibility. Or people are telling me, or it's somebody saying, hmm, the black hawks need some short term help for bedard while some of their prospects develop. What could be a short term option that would help them reach the cap floor that would help counterbedard and be a scoring option. Ding, ding, ding, our Tommy Panaren. That like on paper hockey reasons. It makes it. Yes, you can see why those dots would be connected. But to me, this rumor feels like a connected. I don't even think it's a rumor. It's not. I think it's a spitball. It's someone spitballing a concept, which I see where they're coming from. But even if we avoid the sexual assault settlement, which we obviously can't, I just don't think from a hockey standpoint. I don't want anyone here who I have to worry about their level of commitment to being here. And I think there were a couple guys that were brought in

37:41here. Some by the current regime, some by the one prior, that were not fully on board with being here. I think one of them was Seth Jones, that was obvious. And in fairness to him, we've talked about this at Nazim, but just quickly, he came here under a different pretense. Yeah, the plans changed on him. The plans changed on him and it was not the bill of goods he was sold. So understandable. And I don't think Taylor Hall was fully on board with being here for what it was. I think he was traded. He was a cap casualty brought along with Fulino. And I, okay, I get to play with Bidard. And this isn't quite what I had imagined. And he got hurt. And he got hurt a bunch. And like, you know, so I think that the hawks are very, very much in the mindset of, we don't want to have anyone here just for the money or coming here through Gritted Teeth that is not on board with what we have going. And I look to, that's why I keep talking about the time for this kind of move is not now. It's a year from now, two years from now, maybe even three years from now, when one of the top for agents says, I see what's happening over there. And I want to be part of that.

38:46Like Mary and Hosa did, like Brian Campbell did, two years in a row, the hawks went out and got the top guy available in Campbell, then Hosa. And they were off to the races because those two guys as they hit for agents, he said, this is the next big thing and they were right. And they saw it. I don't think the hawks are, and this is another question we're going to get to here in a second. Reputation wise, I think people are starting to know it's like, okay, Bidard looks really good. He looks different. All the stuff we said about the last two years is bunk. I don't know if they're quite as caught up on what's happening in the system. But I think once Frandel gets here and once left shop makes a lap around the league once, especially at the way he's been playing lately. And all like, I'll tell you, Connor McDavid is going to remember our left shop from my side. He was in his grill all night, like hitting them not back and down, not scared. Like, they're starting to, that seed is starting to be planted now. And then when you add these weapons that are about to add, the league is really going to be on notice. And I think they're kind of,

39:49look, they've beaten Dallas twice. They've beaten Vegas. They've beaten good teams that are taking notice of, oh, wait, this is not, this is not automatic two points anymore. Right. So I think in a couple of years, it'll be time. I just don't think you need to go and throw money at some of our questions. One of our other questions was about, you know, the culture and the identity of the team and everything. And that's that, that is very important. That is why Nick Felino has been here. Yeah. The last three seasons and, and Ben, the guy that, that he's been is because he's been trying to kind of set that tone and Jeff Blaschle's talked about it. So yeah, you need, you need anybody who you're bringing in from the outside into the organization needs to be on board with the plan. And if they're not, or if they've got, you know, one foot out the door, just cash in a check, it's not going to be beneficial. All right. That leads us to the question we just discussed from Lord Tobias. He says, what do you guys make of how Chicago is perceived around the league? It feels like there's a negative stigma surrounding them example, but Dard has little to no respect

40:51by his peers with the media. What else do you think the club needs to do in order to be taken seriously and not just be perennial playoff contenders? I think there's, I think there's change a little. There's two. I think there's, well, maybe more than two, but there's at least two things that I've seen from more of a outsider national perspective when they are discussing the Hawks. One is they've missed the playoffs the last what seven years. So they're in a perennial tank. And Kyle Davidson doesn't know what he's doing. And kind of, but Dard needs help. And you need to go trade for this guy, this guy, this guy, this guy, this guy, this guy signed this for agent, signed this for agent, signed this for agent. That shows a lack of understanding of what the Black Hawks are trying to do. Right. What a rebuild actually is what they were doing before Kyle Davidson got here. And also how the NHL is going to operate moving forward. The other perspective is that

41:53people are coming around and seeing the corner turning for the Hawks. And that started with that national, national broadcast of the Blues game where they won eight to three. The Dard and Azar were on the post game talking to the panel. Like that started that like, oh, maybe we should look at the Black Hawks a little bit differently because these guys are here. They're getting better, but Dards playing better like that, that kind of turned that corner. So I think there's some people that the perception is my head is in the sand and Chicago's bad until they make the playoffs and they're just, it's just bad, bad, bad until it's good. And then there's people that I think their eyes got a little bit wider, opened wider and they're actually seeing, oh, okay, we took notice of Anton Frontel because we paid attention to the world juniors. Oh, he's a Hawks prospect. Oh, he's going to be pretty good. Put him with the Dard. Oh, you know, Oliver Moore is starting to turn some heads. He was on the, the TNT post game

42:56after beating the Blues again. And that's still got a silver medal. Yeah, Nester saw made some noise. Like I think people are starting now as some of the everyone was talking about Mason West for a while. Oh my gosh, this football player. Actually, he's a hockey player now. Like he's a Black Hawk. Like it's, I think that that is starting to happen more. So I think the percept it's still taking some time for the league wide national out of town, you know, perspective to kind of understand fully what the rebuild has been under Kyle Davidson. But at least a bigger portion of that has kind of understood this season. What we've been talking about for like three years. I feel like it has shifted this year. And I think you saw when I know the injury probably tempered this a little bit. But all the lead up before Bedard got hurt about, he has to be on the Olympic team. You had national people saying like, come on, like what are we doing here? Like who are we kidding? Kind of a dart belongs on the Olympic team. And then he

43:57didn't make it. But a lot of people were able to write it off because of the injury. But it kind of a dart not been hurt and not made that team. There would have been a lot more national blowback about that. Absolutely. There would have been, it would have been topic number one on your TNT intermissions ESPN if they bothered to do them those sort of thing. You know what I mean? Like it's just if he doesn't make, if he doesn't get hurt, doesn't make that team and Canada doesn't win gold. That is that is the, that is the, you, you left Bedard. It's the talking point of around all of Canada. Continue. Yeah. No, I, but I just think of the shifts of this year. I think people are starting to figure out, oh, wait a minute. Like it's not just counterbedard. And then part of it too was Bedard's first two seasons, not being what people maybe predicted it would be. And then that narrative became well, the hawks are doing nothing to help him. And like that wasn't necessarily true. I think a lot of the reasons that counterbedard struggled the first two year were kind of a dart issue is trying the four things that weren't there. Like, you know,

44:57trying to beat three defensemen go one on three at the end of a shift. Like that's not a lack of yes, is there reality that he'd have a lot of weapons around him? Yes, of course, but it wasn't just that. It wasn't just the black hawks and competence that made counterbedard's first two years less than it was been this year. A lot of it's, those are lessons that he had to learn about his own game to change. And that's when you see him skip the world championships to work on his own games. No, that's him recognizing. Yes, that's him recognizing. Like if I'm going to be the guy that I think I am and everyone thought I was for the two years leading up to the draft, I need to work on me and my game. He did it and it's made a huge difference. So, you know, I think that it's all starting to turn. I think last couple years have been really, really down understandably. So because remember two years ago, you had the Corey Perry disaster and that was a tough look. So the hawks kind of kept getting in their own ways. Well, and look at, you know, not to blow through the break here, but just quickly, look at what's going on with Ottawa

45:58the last couple of days. Yeah, like NHL teams do not want to deal with any sort of baggage or anything like that. And the black hawks are trying to make sure that like things run smoothly. So that's for the betterment of dart and the rest of these young guys that they have as little distractions as possible to focus on the development of hockey of themselves as hockey players and come together as a group. And then that's going to be that's what we all want to see beyond the national stage for the black hawks now because they've had their issues and that impacts how people perceive them nationally. Yeah, Brian says maybe when they start to not draft into top three for three years in a row, they'd be taking more seriously. Well, well, yeah, they get good players and they get better. Would you guys be concerned with the below lineup, considering how many kids would have to be every day contributors? The below lineup in question reads from left to right Burakowski-Badard-Frandel, Bertuzzi-Nazar-Cancerov, Tevo-Mor-Lardis, which is already a thing, so that's good. Doc Green, and one of Slagert-Cevoix-Denado, defensemen-Vlasik-Crevier, Kaiser-Levchenov,

51:17Kurchinsky-Ordel-Mastro, and Renzel with Knight and either Sauterbloom or Kamezzo-Innet. My concern would be your banking that all of these rookies are ready to go day one. That's a big... I'm pretty confident, Frandel, we'll be able to jump in right away. Cancer obviously, in great things in Russia, but it's Russia. I don't see highlights. I only see highlights. It's hard to watch full games. I'm not current on my computer with pirated feeds. It's a lot to assume. I think that is potentially realistic for the end of next year. That could be your lineup. I also think you're paying Ryan DeNado $4 million in his playing, so that gives you a little bit... So you've got Bertuzzi, you've got Burakowski, you've got Tevo, you've got Denado. That's four veterans up front. I'm comfortable calling Alex Vlasic a veteran at this point. Yes. He's bent this side from that. Your defense is really

52:24inexperienced. I mean, it's getting more experience. Kaiser is going to be by the end of the year, what, 150 games played. Yeah. Cravier is probably getting to 100 games close by the end of the year. Look, man, from a night-to-night basis, it's not the young guys I'm concerned about most of the time. There's a learning curve, but how many times this year have you thought, boy, you know what? They just lost that game because it was just an immature lineup. I don't think there's been... And for all the gnashing of Teeth, my arm left should have. Yeah, there's moments in a game where maybe the decision isn't perfect, but like a game-ruining play. There's plays that make your heart skip a beat. But why are Kaiser threw up a piece of rain in front of the net? I also think we're looking at him with this incredible microscope where every time he touches a puck, we're like, each young guy is like that, honestly. But I don't think people are

53:28looking at Alvermor and Nicolartis with the same intensity or looking at Lev Shnov simply because of where he was drafted and who he was drafted instead of. So there is a, there is people looking for confirmation bias on Lev Shnov either way. They want to be right about him or right about Demidov, whichever side they were on, or whichever I guess more correctly, whatever side they're dug in on. So they're looking for evidence to support that argument all the time. I think I'm guilty of that myself, to be honest with you, is when I am logical and 55 is on the ice, I am laser focused on him, looking for him to do something great or something scary. When I think if you were to do that with every player during the course of a game, you would see something great and something scary. Like, think about this. Over before like the last week or so, Tevo Terevina had really been struggling. And I think there was some growing frustration with his game. I feel like a lot of us started watching Tevo differently because of the frustration we were

54:28feeling with him at that moment. Ryan Denato was frustrating me last night because of the overstic handling and everything. So every time he was on the ice, I was watching him to see if he was going to do it again. Like, I think we just have this focus on guys that are on our minds. Meanwhile, there's not a lot of scrutiny on largest or more because more was a mid first round pick that everyone was on board with. Largest is a lot is NHL ready way faster than anyone thought and put up huge numbers in the last year that no one expected. So he sort of like found money. I just think the scrutiny is different. So anyway, point being, I would not be wholly uncomfortable with that lineup. I do feel like one more veteran defenseman would make me feel a little cozier, but it could be one of those guys who is a veteran six seven defenseman. Don't stop it. We don't have to do that. Um, you know, and maybe you can convince Matt Gridslake to come back. You game a PTO, you game a contract. Yes. Yes. I don't think he can go demanding to play 82 games next

55:36year. I don't know. I maybe it's not him, but I think somebody like that where you're not married to a long term. If you do determine your six or seven young defenseman are ready to go, you just give them a spot and you can move the veteran on. Um, I just think it's a really young team to start the season. It's a, it's a really young team. Um, but I mean, my, my initial thought is you're, you're, like I said, like you're banking a lot on those rookies being ready to go. Rendell, yep, in cancer of, and you're, you know, kind of assuming that, um, Kortzinski is an everyday guy next year, Orbins, Ellis and everyday guy next year. And, you know, they really haven't been, uh, at least, at least earned an opportunity to do so, um, this season. So it's, it's, it's a lot to bank on. I think with Rendell and cancer of,

56:37cancer of has just what year three, playing full time in the, in the KHL, like that's three professional seasons. Like that's, that's pretty good. You know, the, the, the KHL competition is probably on par with, if not maybe slightly better than the AHL or comparable at least. Um, and Rendell, playing all this year in, in Sweden, like that's professional hockey. That's against, you know, grown men and he's more than hanging with it. And that's not exactly the AHL, but it's close still. Um, so you could say like they're, they're coming in as rookies in the NHL, but they've played a year professionally, at least or, or more. Um, so the, the jump to the speed of the game, the pace of the game, the way that the game has played, like there's still some of that, but it's different than someone's coming from junior to the NHL or someone's, you know, college. Like that jump is, is more extreme. So I think you, you could roll with that lineup. It is just, it's,

57:44it just feels like it's a lot to dump on, Rendell and cancer of right away to be like, go be a top six guy, go be Darth wingman and roll with it. Like that's, that's going to be a, a tough challenge. I'm all for challenging those guys to say, like, hey, can you do this right away? That'd be great. Um, but I think, I think you need to, you would need to have, um, those insurance policies, types of players where if Rendell goes out and cancer off goes out, they get an opportunity to train a camp and they grab it and they are day one guys. Great. Then you have some vets down the lineup or you have some guys that you're like, uh, maybe you go to rockford. Yeah. Like that's, that's, I think that's, that's a case with like Colton doc or Lan and slagger, um, where it's just like, you know, you're on that fence. And if you're here, you, we can play you and we're comfortable playing you. But if you're not, that means someone better is in the lineup. See, four, four, four wise with this scenario, I'm not concerned. I think you've got enough. If

58:47cancer off or, or, or Frontel is not ready for top six, but you feel they're ready for the NHL, then okay, then you put Ryan to that. I don't want to top line or you know, it's not ideal, but you've got options. The, the only thing is the defense. We're getting over time by the way. I just, and I, you know, I, I do kind of think of why Kaiser is a veteran-ish defenseman. He's very smart. Uh, knows the game well. I think he's a future coach. I mean, you know, he's hockey sense is super high. He, he'll be 24

59:50at the start of next season. Uh, and he's got 144 games under his belt. If he plays the rest of the season, he'll be close to, uh, he'll be about 190 by the end of the season. Uh, if my math is, is, is, uh, close. So he's being tasked with like, hey, for a lack of better term, babysit Artem Levchenov, uh, through his, you know, progression. And he's doing it really well. So I like, even though he's not maybe by games played a veteran, they trust him like one. So I would, I, I agree. I would pretty much consider him almost in that, like, how we looked at Alex Vlasik last year where it's like, even though you're very young and have not the most games played, you're the second longest tenured defenseman behind Conor Murphy currently. Like you were, you were a veteran on this, on this team. Yeah. I, I don't know. I, look, if that's the line-up opening day, I'm very excited because that means that a lot of kids have proven ready in the

1:00:53preseason. It's a lot of potential. You've had some growth from now until the end of this season from a lot of guys. That is a big vote of confidence from Kyle Davidson for his group. And I feel like he's a little more conservative than that because you saw. I think a lot of people are like, why'd they bring in Grizzlyk? Like he's just taken a spot away from a young guy. Well, turns out, yeah, probably the smart thing to do because the young guys we thought were absolutely ready. Sam Mrenzel never going down, never playing a game for Rockford. Wasn't the case. So he insulated himself against that situation. So it seems to me unlikely that Kyle Davidson's going to say, go, my children, go and run the NHL team. It just doesn't feel like his personality. But again, if you show me that line-up, is post-trade deadline next year? I could see that. I think of veteran, maybe you keep McKayev in that scenario. Maybe you, and maybe you keep Grizzlyk. And then let's go. Yeah. I'm down with that. I just think it's a lot to throw on a lot of young
