Listen live weekday mornings from 6 to 10 am on 880 ESPN in New York, the ESPN New York app, or on your smart speaker by asking it to play ESPN New York. This is DPA Troin Rothenberg. This is PIP Puffer TV, so it's high-tech, the deodorant, and clone from behind. That's actually not deodorant. It's body glide that I have to rub on the screen.

Excuse me? Hey, listen, listen, let me explain myself. Yeah, I'm going to have to hear this. Hey, so I'm a runner, which means when you learn long distances, especially in the summer, you have some friction happening between your thighs. And I used to get these scrapings and those are really, really tough to do with it. So I had to purchase some body glides to rub between my thighs. This is DPA Troin Rothenberg. Yo, shout out to Missy Elliott. She put that song out all those years ago, one minute man. That's all we need here, play. On ESPN New York, streaming live on YouTube. Great time. Two hours down. One and a half more to play with on this Labor Day Monday. Football is upon us. Ty Butler going to 1230. At Ty Debutler, make sure you follow me on Twitter and on Instagram. We are streaming live on YouTube.

Trying to figure out some plans for the day. Ray Sonsiagra, you going to Eastern Park where you're going to have some dagger and done on you? We're talking about, nah, nah, man. This is a recoup. Ready for a big day tomorrow, man. Big day. Yeah, big day. The show makes its way to MSG networks starting tomorrow. So make sure you guys are tapping in an ad both DPA Troin Rothenberg, the return of the four horsemen. You haven't seen them in a minute. It's been a month since we've seen RJ Gray, my man day fresh off of his little illness this past weekend. DPA Tro. I guess for some reason was vacationing enough to where he couldn't do his show, but not vacationing enough to where he can no guess appearances. But, you know, who am I to judge? DPA Troin back. So the four, the fellas getting a pop in on MSG networks. So that should be fun.

And then in the afternoon, God, Han and Rosenberg, MSG baby, Alan, right where he belongs. You know what? I said it's Dolan. The power record in the MSG is Dolan, Ray Santiago and Alan. Can I amend that real quick? Go for it. It's really Dolan, Han didn't write. So we got why am I trashed? Why me? You got two of the highest ranking officials at MSG at this station. So make sure you guys tap in. Of course, ESPN, New York app going nowhere, 880 AM going nowhere. YouTube stream, continue to subscribe to the channel. We're about to hit 50K going nowhere. But now we're adding for our morning and our afternoon shows MSG network. Hey, how's your morning? Looking forward to it. I get to just, you know, pull up to a, if I'm at a restaurant, if I'm, you know, taking

care of business. But you make a sense. Ray Santiago, are you the most hit, are you think universally recognized as the most handsome fellow on the show as it, or is it Rick? No, it's got, it's definitely Rick. Rick's got it all, man. Well, we're just talking about face. We're not talking about it. Rick is pretty good in the face. Todd, that I would say it that way. Yeah. Rick is handsome. Pretty good in the face. I think, I think universally we're considered a good looking show. You are a good looking show. Which, which people that work in radio, you don't hear that a lot of us. People with joke like, oh, you've got a face for radio. This show is actually, when I start to comb through like the rest of the shows and I see this with all due respect, y'all might be the most attractive show on the station. So this is a mission network's opportunity is a good look. I will take it. Because, because, because people like to pretend it's just a good here for Argy. My Argy is a good looking dude. And, and she's got a 10.

I would give Argy a 10. And then, you know, Ray, are you looking for love or new, new chillers? Oh, man, we punted. That was the, that was the, that was the proclamation this summer. Last summer was a little different. We were looking, we thought we found a good situation. Didn't work out. So what happened? I'm just, when we can get flaky sometimes, man, that's, that's the, that's the takeaway. So when you say flaky, is it like not answering messages or, no, it's that, it's that hot and cold stuff. I think a lot of people like to say that they're serious and you get them serious for a good amount of time, month, two months, three months, no sudden, sudden changes. You're like, you, you can feel when the vibe changes. You could, I believe that you could feel that. So she, she wanted to be in an, like, she didn't want to be tied down. Was this the case? She didn't say that as much, but she was acting like it.

She was acting, she was acting funny. So yeah, we've, and again, this is, I've been there before when somebody wants to act funny. And I'm just not interested in doing that. Listen, I already told you, Ray, you might have to pay for that plate at, from the wedding. My man, you brought a, you brought a, you brought a, to Cassie and I's wedding and all of a sudden, you know, turn around and she'd not hear no more. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I thought that was the one, bro. I thought that was the one. Don't give up, man. It's a very attractive man. You are successful, educated. You bring a lot to the table. I, I, listen, I don't doubt that. And listen, I feel confident in what I bring to the table. And maybe that's my problem is that I'm very choosy in who I spend my time with and who I spend my energy on. That's a problem. And so if I, if I get in a situation where the vibe is off for me, I just, I'm not good, I'm not a good liar, man. I'm not good at faking. You shouldn't be. So, listen, if you were a liar, Joe, Leo, what root for you?

As he does his head coach. All right. Now. He would root for you. Hey, man. If Harvey was, was in a relationship, if Harvey could get into a relationship, so can you. Damn. That's all I'm saying. I love you, Harvey. 800 nine when died. Uh, 3776. I do want to go back to college football for a moment because thank you, man. He is the gift that keeps on giving. And, um, you know, that train's coming down the track. And so this past weekend, he was on game day. And he was asked, uh, blah, blah, blah. This is on forcing Clemson to sit three longer weather delay. That locker room sucks over there. And when you sit in there, the longer you sit in there, no, this is a real thing. And so even when they said, hey, do you want to shorten the 90 minutes when we come back? I don't leave it all there. We'll go out at midnight. So anyway, I don't even know what your question was.

We wouldn't move into short minutes. I know. I know. But hey, if you haven't figured out my competitiveness in order to win, if I'm going to go through all that other stuff for two players, nationally, I'm certainly going to, if I think 90 minutes is going to help us win the game, um, we're going to sit in the locker room for 90 minutes. Well, I love that he brought up the poor pro pro players because it was caught on a hot mic after half time to walk off. And here's what he had to say. Thank you. Yeah. Good match. Everything to say. Not to imagine we had pro players. Yeah. All right. So I often say that when we declare a person should be ashamed of themselves for their actions, it presupposes that there's an ounce of shame in any fiber of their body when it comes to how they carry themselves. So we talk about Lane Kiffin and this foolishness of him, launching NFL players who have been cut to join teams. Listen, he's shameless.

There's no code. He said it in that cut. Yeah. But here's what's going to trip me out because I got a Lane Kiffin quote from this weekend that sent me. He believes in winning at all costs. Sure. Look, if there's a system in place designed to gain any, and I mean any competitive advantage by hook or by crook, he will see to it that it's done. And so look, we can do all the screaming and yelling about it. He doesn't give it down. I do find a little bit of comedy in listening to both Sabin and Davo condemn it because part of me does applaud them for doing so. They have loud voices that resonate in college sports. And it's important. It matters. But then there's another part of me that's like, man, y'all are all corrupt. Who are you fooling? And so when Xavier and Harris and Declan Wright doesn't play for LSU in the game against Clemson, and it's because of this looming threat from the SEC of punishments coming

if they add them to the roster, I'm like, all right. So let's see where this goes. But then my favorite part of this story is the quote from Lane Kiff in this past weekend. So where he says, that wasn't easy as much as I feel for the players. And I believe that you fight for what you believe in. And I believe these kids have an opportunity to play just like all the other kids around the country that are winning court cases and being put on rosters. But at the same time, I'm the head coach of LSU. I had to make a decision that is for the big picture of LSU and the LSU football program with the uncertainties of what potentially could have come by adding them to the roster. My man. Did you just say you feel for the players? Is that what we're going to say here? You feel for the players. So which players are you talking about? Are you talking about the players who have to go up against guys on your team?

Who spent this past summer and training can't work enough for the NFL? Are you talking about the players who in theory could miss out on opportunities at the collegiate level? Should guys who are drafted be allowed to come back? Is that who you're talking about? Those play, wait, hold up. Is this the same Lane Kiffin who quit on his former team during the season that I'm supposed to believe all of a sudden cares about the player. Yo, maybe the players that you're talking about are those who are in charge at LSU. You don't give a damn about that. Lane Kiffin cares about Lane Kiffin, which is fine. Do what you got to do. But don't sit here and try to swindle us and act like this is about you caring about these dudes. You know what you care about the fact that had you done this, you would have been hit

with a harsh, severe crippling penalty by the SEC, possibly a suspension. Cut it out. You don't care about the players. It's not about that. You were cutthroat. Stand on that. This is again, you see an avenue for you to gain some type of advantage over the game. Over other teams and a path to possibly winning a championship that involves something slimy and you want to exploit that. Don't sit here and tell me you care about the players. If you go poke your chest out, roll those shoulders back and start swinging. You can't be mad when there's a counter punch. I see my main Harvey cruise up in the chat with live to a 1230. So stream us live on YouTube, ESPN, New York Channel. My main Harvey, because I took a little shot at him, says, ties next to skinny. No traps at all. So he's coming at my physique.

Blue bomber says, tie a shit at glide with Harvey. Harvey's like, nah, I don't need the glide thankfully. So I think Harvey's a little upset. He's mad at your boy. Because I don't even remember what I said. Oh, I said that Harvey, if Harvey could get in a relationship, then there's hope for U-ray. Is that what I said? That's what you said. Something long those lines, it wasn't great. Speaking of not great, how about this from Dead Rumbeer? Hey, Ray, I think Rothenberg takes this and this is on Twitter. Takes a show down in the looks department. Most repug on the station, fat or skin. Why you got to do that though? Why you got to do all that? Wait, hang on. Why I got to do what? I'm not talking to you. I'm talking to what's my man's name? Oh, Dead Rumbeer. Dead Rumbeer. Yeah, bro. He just went straight at his head top. Fat or skinny. So most repug at the station, I didn't expect it, man.

I would have for himself, man, what are we talking about? Listen, I would have him fourth on the list on the show, but it's not because he's ugly. It's because I just don't think he's better looking than you, RJ or Rick. Something said repug. Hey, no shame in coming and forth to you guys. Now, if all of a sudden, because I guess Ray's got meetings this week, so he won't be here on Wednesday, mod of sudden, Harvey's the replacement. Yeah, Dave gets bumped up to third. There's a rough crowd, bro. He's a rough crowd here. Blue on the score, bombers says put that tie's thighs up against Carlton's cats. Damn. That's a man. Somebody said 100 pounds if he was in your eyes. Oh my goodness. I just let him down.

I've lost like 40 pounds in a year now. 40. How, bro? Is it a running, man? That's wild though. The running. What are you down to? I was at 220. You were 220. 224. I was at 220 and 2024. And now I'm down. I checked yesterday post run. I was at 177. Damn, bro. You push it. You push it 50. You get to 50 soon. I'm going to come back up after the race. I'm going to come back up. But you were like, you were like, you were like, bulking up and that was like, okay, this is too much or? I was on mass tech and I didn't like how I was feeling, man. Like, the stomach, I didn't like it. And so once you get into running, you change the diet. It's just more effective to be at a lower weight because it's better on the body. Yeah, 100% better on the body. Big time beef stew says, Karlin has more roles than a bakery.

Unkind. Denivon is still exists, I see. Karlin is raised un... Why everybody coming at Karlin? What the Karlin do? Karlin is raised unbuttered role. Yeah, this is wow to what's happening. That's someone who listens to the show. Man, are there roles going to be eaten on MSG networks? Maybe you get a message. No, we got to be careful with all that too. Commercials only. It's going to be commercials only. I can't be stuffing my face when Rothenberg wrote, or Rick Goedamy, which they love to do. As you're eating. As I'm stuffing my face. Right, what do you think about this as a eating a roll? And then they met at me like it's my fault. Maybe you get a bagel sponsorship or a cream cheese. I'm listening, man. I'm listening. The door's always open. Get the bet. You and Arche had a nice little summer hosting watch parties. Those were fun times. Yeah, those were fun.

You guys pop out sound and y'all are celebrities. I'll take it. Yo, did you see the text that Rick just sent me? That wasn't nice. Oh, no. Oh, no. So he, oh, I can't read what he said on the air. No. But I guess this is in response to how I lost so much weight, what he's accusing me of. Would I still be married if that was the case? See, you're feeding into it now, man. You should just leave that alone. You know what's crazy? I've said nothing but good things about Rick, all show. That doesn't mean anything. How long have you known Rick? I said, I called him underrated in the talent. Rick from the top rope. I think he is exceptional at his job. And this is the underrated part. Like, being able to marry the, like, analyst side of former professional athlete with, with, with still being able to look at it through the lens of a fan.

Like, that's difficult. And all the props in the world to him. Because sometimes you have these pro athletes come in and they want to break down the X's and the nose and all that. Rick can still be a fan while seeing it through the lens of, you know, clubhouse locker room. And so that's underrated. And he's wild funny, very attractive. I've said nothing but great things about him. And it still, he hits me within the text. You should be ashamed, you know. Absolutely ashamed. You know what Rick, Rick, Rick, Rick's the lane kiffin of the station. Ooh, shameless. Don't compare it to that animal. Rick's got it. Rick's got his, his stuff, but he's, he's not lane kiffin. He, he won't duck and run on you. Rick, Rick's got some issues, man. That, that was mean, Rick. Now I love you, baby. Ah, stuff you missed, jolly. What's up, baby? Hey, Ty. We got an image in it, or nah. I didn't know if you were throwing there, because usually what Dave likes to do there is like to heal to the show. How you doing?

Oh, that's a great show. That's what I thought was going to let us in. Then I'll say, you ready for the stuff you missed? I've been talking to him for three hours. Does it matter? Does it matter? Have you listened, again, do you listen to the show? Of course I do. But does it mean I have to be Dave? I can't do my own thing. Some people would like his name. Listen, Dave already takes enough credit for my career. The last thing I need to do is emulate him. Fair point. Alright, jolly, oh, the wonderfully talented jolly, I guess how are you doing jolly? I'm doing well, Ty. Okay, where else do we go with this? No. We got it! Let's see ya! What up, the fuck? The f**k you missed. Let's start here, because we have not. Go ahead. Hang on. There's a follow-up text. Oh boy. Don't do that. I'm not gonna read it. It's funny, though. I give him credit. It's really funny. I can laugh up myself. A low-vote of confidence from Rick D.P.H.

That's all? If there's anyone who can beat what I have, it's me. Thank you Rick. Really appreciate it. I'm sorry, jolly, you were saying. Oh good. We haven't talked much yet today. A1, Boba Shet had his first big met moment hitting a three-run, go ahead, home run, after the San Francisco Giants decided to walk one-soto intentionally. Boba Shet said, oh yeah, well how about this on-per-size? A three-run home run in the top, bottom of the eighth inning for the match to win four to two Kodai Senga pissed up his sixth save in his many chances. The match have now won back-to-back series for the first time since the middle of August. The Yankees out in San Diego. Wait, can I ask you a question, Jo? Go ahead. Is it really a big moment if that win improves your team to 13 games under 500? Can you name me another Boba Shet moment as a New York met?

Sure. It might be the highlight of his season. It even actually played better of late, but I mean... Big met moment. Is that where it's going? That's his first met moment. All right. Anyway, the match had a... The match. The Yankees had a tough day in San Diego yesterday. Garrett Cole gave a back-to-back to back home runs to start the game, which is a 12th time in major league history. But that has happened the Yankees battle back, but ultimately lose four to three. The race, they lost eight to four to the Rangers, and the Yankee manager got a little... Tasty. Asked if he was being scoreboard watching. Take a listen. Uh-oh. I can't hear it. We didn't... We didn't... Every single day of the year. Straight out there, I watch it every day. So, probably no more in the last loop, but I watch it every day. That's my bad, but...

Yeah, Aaron Boone's getting a little testy. I think he's ready for the playoffs. He also got tested when someone... I don't know if you saw this, asked him about the Dominguez play. Oh, we have that one, Blake Deerard. Yeah, that's true. He missed it. That's what happened. How do you... Yeah, I mean, obviously the play you got to make. You know, didn't make it. This has gone well. Yeah, so there was someone who asked... Bring out the tweet you and I talked about yesterday. Oh. Go ahead. Can I read it? I read it for you. I read it for you. Somebody said he's the Dominican-Clood Frazier. That's funny. Right now, that's right. I mean, I think it's an accurate description. Yo, but the... We were talking about this via text yesterday. I want Dominguez. I want to defend him, because I still think there is a lot of talent. I root for him, man. I do. I really do. There is a ton of talent not to cut you off. It's the truth. You're totally right. He's supremely talented. They didn't call him the Martian for no reason.

But then there are moments. But then there are moments. There are too many of those things on his resume reel. And that's the problem. But there was a reporter who asked, boom. I'm trying to remember the direct question. He said something along the lines of like it was a lazy play. And boom, it's like, nah, I would say that's an accurate. That's an accurate. That's not how I would describe it. I think you saw it wrong. Oh, man. Dominguez. Just get Boone to October. Speaking of October, college football is back. And the drama yet over the weekend was plentiful. Last night, national number nine, old misspeets. Number 24, Louisville 41 to 38 on a walkoff field goal by Lucas Camanero. Trinidad Chamblis, 336 yards, three touchdowns in intercept. Chamblis also added 60 yards in the ground as well as reaching paydirt.

Lincoln Kinzel from Louisville through for 307 yards and two touchdowns. Notre Dame, number four Notre Dame beats Wisconsin 41 13 C.J. Carr, 19 of 29, 239 yards and two touchdowns. Lane Kiffin, we touched on this last segment. His first impression in Baton Rouge, well, I don't think it could have gone any better. Honestly, on the field, number 11, LSU Stomp's Clemson 51 to 10 under the lights of Tiger Stadium. And yeah, he got testy with Holly Row on his walkoff at halftime. At locker room sucks over there. And when you sit in there, the longer you sit in there, notice a real thing. And so even when they said, hey, do you want to shorten the 90 minutes? Thank you, go ahead. Yeah, everything to say, not to imagine we had pro-play. Lane loves Lane and I'm here for it because you've seen that sign in the locker room, right?

The one that they got posted LSU? No, I have. Something along the lines of, you're going to have to be the villain and somebody else's story to succeed. Oh my goodness. That's just as accurate a statement about Lane Kiffin as humanly possible. Wait, but you said you're here for it. Damn, because we like this. We need personalities like this. We don't need bad personalities. Let me get this quote right. If you want to win at the highest level, you have to become a villain in someone else's story. Oh my god, but he's also there as a program, misconstruing and like an accolculated way, misconstruing and using that quote in the wrong context. That's not what that quote mean. Whatever works. But you're here for it. I am. I like this story stuff in college, but you talked about this earlier, Tyler. That it's hard to try to shame somebody if they have no shame. Exactly. He's got no shame.

He's got no empathy. He's got no feelings. There's issues there. It is what it is. This has got to accept it with Lane Kiffin. I'm rooting against LSU. I think everybody is. I am too, but again, I like villains in college football speaking of villains. Real quick, real quick. Yes. I keep cutting you off. Because I said something about the Rams earlier. I just can't get down with it. I can't get jiggy with it. Are we all rooting against the Rams or is that just a me thing? I know your Cowboys fans. It was different. You have to inherently be rooting against them. But are the Rams unlikable? I don't think they're unlikable. I don't think they're unlikable. They're just a super team. And the Seahawks deserve way more credit like we talked about. LSU and the Dodgers. Which team is more unlikable? Oh, LSU. It's LSU. Dodgers is just throwing money around. That's a different thing. All right. My bad Joe, continue. We began the show talking about this.

Number 16 Michigan. Staves off embarrassment 13 to 12 against Western Michigan. With 9 seconds left, Bryce underwood through a Hail Mary pass, incomplete in the back of the end zone. Well, the clock showed triple zeros, except oh, wait. No, it didn't. Upon further review, this is a statement by the big 10. It was determined that Western Michigan's number 18, which is Micah Davis, started his jump from an established out of bounds position and made contact with the ball with one second remaining on the clock. As it's shown with the video provided of what happened during the replay process, a side by side of the play and the game clock using a direct shot of that game clock. The game clock in the stadium was determined to use for the final ruling. And then they also further down in the statement say 85 minutes prior to the game, all broadcast cameras used for replay system, including the camera on the game clock, are synced to using a strobe system to ensure cameras are aligned.

Now, the Mac has responded to the big 10. And this is their statement. Quote, the big 10 explained that the ball touched a player who was out of bounds before the clock reached triple zeros, resulting in one additional play being rewarded. The big 10 subsequently provided video and audio of the replay, which confirmed the explanation provided to us. End quote. Is that sufficient enough for you for the Mac? The Mac was robbed of a great weekend. You mean, you started with you, Matt Speedy, Rutgers, and you would have had Michigan losing to frickin Western Michigan, the Mac would have you wouldn't be able to say anything to the Mac this year. And I know most people don't care about this, but he is a friend of mine. My man Noah Eagle gets robbed of a fantastic call. His call of the Underwood touchdown though was tremendous as well. Oh, that was great phenomenal. We nailed them both. But why do we have multiple clocks?

No one's been able to explain that. That's the issue that always happens with the play clock on the screen in football. Because you always see the clock go zero and the referee say, oh, well, he has to look at the clock. But you see it. If it says zero, just say zero. Perfect analogy. But the clock doesn't match up. I saw someone on Twitter. Throw this out as a suggestion. You know, obviously the NBA, when the the the the shot clock expires, like we have visual evidence of it because there's the buzzer, there's the red lining around the backboard. Like maybe you have that instituted somehow in football. Are the goalposts maybe? Yeah, around the goalposts is what they said. So we can see it. I don't hate that really quickly though. What they should have gone with the big 10 here is it's a penalty. If you go out of bounds and then come back inbound or touch the ball without reestablishing yourself in bounds, correct?

So why don't just go with that and say it's an unctigned down instead of there was actually one second left when everybody including Michigan fans know that there was no second left on the clock. That's just me. Yeah, we got also say man, if you're Western Michigan, don't give up a hell marry. Very true. Over at the US Open, Norena Sableanka, Beats Taylor Townsend and Straight Sets, Americans, Jessica Bagoula and Emma Navarro move on on the men's side, Carlos Alcarez for Francis Tiafou and Ben Shelton also move on to the fourth round of the US Open and tie that is a few missed. What a fantastic job by my man, Joseph Leo, who I want to point out has me as the number one pick on his wedding attendance roster from the US Open. I'm excited about that. Just to reiterate, my expectation with or without judge being peak judge is that of the Yankees winning the American League.

I don't want excuses. I don't want to hear about injuries to max-free the couple of times. We're done. We've had, you know, Belinger. We've also had George Lompard Jr. Bunch of injuries for Nando and G. Big G. You name a big G. John Carlos Stanton. I don't want to hear. This might not be over, actually, by the way. Did you hear that? He's swinging a bat. We did see that yesterday. You know what the problem is. Every time we hear he's on the comeback trail, what happens? He runs the bases and something breaks. We're just so sad. So I like the, it sounds funny. It is funny, but like, he's the easy to do the roof for. We all like him. We all want him to do well, but come on, man. Come on. So, but the, it sounds funny when you, it's like, wow, because you, you don't see the video. You're just trying to picture how it happens. It's sad because, in my eyes, a future hall of famer, 36 years old, it's not, it's not crazy old.

He is, you know, the physical specimen that he is, John Carlos Stanton. His limbs are useless, man. He can't open a bottle of jupickled jar. He said he can't open a pickle jar. Well, I forgot about that with the tennis elbows. Former league in VP, five time, or was it one, two, three? Yeah, five time all star. One of the most clutch performers we've seen, at least in our time, as Yankee fans, he's third all time in franchise home runs. Like that guy being reduced to, he can't even run around the bases without falling. Like it's sad. It really is sad. And I wasn't here for folks pretending like, oh, this is some blessing in this guy's, because you can freak. I want to hear about that. An offense that has mostly stalled for the last three months, should not be at the point where we're celebrating or pretending it's some blessing that one of your best offensive players

is not healthy. Yes, it would have created a lot of things. It's unhealthy. Yes, it would have created for some difficult decisions. And where does he actually play? But at least you have him available. The clutch gene, the leadership, the fact that we know, we know that home run at some point is coming, losing that is sad. So just to get back to what I was saying, with that said, man, without judge, the Yankees overachieved to some degree because we're talking about just keep your head above water. They went 44 or they so far have gone 44 and 38 without him. I don't want to assume he's going to be activated in the back tomorrow. He has taken bad impractors today. I don't want to hear press conference at the end of this season that if it happens, it'll end with the Yankees not winning a World Series. Be that of, wow, injuries and craps, man, cut it out.

This team is still plenty good enough and this American league to win multiple playoff rounds. Especially because, and I've changed my tune on this, after watching the rotation, I guess last night, or yesterday afternoon, notwithstanding, be excellent. It was bewildering to me to watch Cole keep up three straight home runs to start a game. That was, and he looked confused. Like, what the hell is going on here? But, despite that, with how they're going to be set up in every playoff series, with the benefit of having the advantage from the standpoint of their rotation, yeah, man, like even a judge is an MVP judge, which by the way, he hasn't been outside of last year in the playoffs. You still should have enough to get it done, to at the very least get to the World Series. And once you're there, you can win.

Now, look, we've all resigned ourselves to, you know, anybody be in the Dodgers. It's the Dodgers. I did find it interesting. Jeff Passon was on Sports Center yesterday talking about how banged up Shohei is. He's dealing with some knee issues. The Dodgers are kind of flirting with the idea of putting him on the IEL, but because he's a pitcher and an offensive player, he then has to go to the 15-day IEL, which essentially, you know, ends his regular season, and now you've got no momentum, or, you know, he's not in rhythm going into the playoffs. Like, that's something to watch out for. Look, I still think the Dodgers are the favorites. When you've won Peptipact titles, when you're a diagnostic team, you're the favorites until proven otherwise. But I'm just saying that there might be some cracks in there. As far as the Yankees are concerned, no excuses.

And this isn't about the mantra or, you know, history, the allure of the franchise. And I don't, I'm not talking about that because I've learned that especially on this radio station, when you go down that path, it leads you susceptible to being called, you know, ungrateful and the retort being well, times of change. Like, it's harder to win now. So we're not talking about that. I am simply saying, when you've watched this year that it is almost over the regular season, one of your biggest takeaways about the American League is the record might not reflect it, but the Yankees are the best team. They're the best team, especially when you add and judge. And if the season were, I don't know, a month longer, we could sell ourselves on them catching the raise because all of a sudden the raise aren't playing their best baseball. And in the second half of the season, three separate times have had losing streaks of three games and more.

Three separate times. But because the Yankees are running out of time, because the Yankees have not taking advantage of the raise when they have lost, I think they will end up as a wall card team. And I'm cool. I'm cool with it. I'm cool. I've accepted that as their fate, which is why I didn't start the show bugging out. How could you lose to the podrian? There was an opportunity to gain ground on tempo. I'm cool, man. I'm fine. You get into the wall cards here. The red socks are not a threat at all. And so when we do the whole standings watch, y'all can keep including the red socks. They're two and a half games behind the Yankees. So through that, whatever the case may, they're not a threat. That series could be played anywhere. Let's play it in the studio with Rick and Dave when they come back on MSD Networks. The Yankees own them because as long as the red sock got to go up against camp, Slitler, it ain't happening. So we then move ourselves to the division series that will see Tampa have home food advantage.

And I think the Yankees can beat them. The biggest impediment, the biggest challenger will be the New York Yankees. If they decide to play a brand of baseball that isn't clean, that, you know, wreaks of a team that is undisciplined. If we see, and not that he's going to be a part of it, but Jason Dominguez lazily approaching a grounder in the outfield, and now all of a sudden it's past him. Those things happen, and then sure they can be beaten. But just, you know, a tale of the tape. I think the Yankees are better than the race. I just, I just think they are. And by the way, this is not some biased opinion you're a Homer. I thought the blue jays were better than them last year, and I was proven to be correct. 899-3776. We go to LA, the home of the eventual champion, Los Angeles Lakers, where Lucas hoisting the Lario Bryant trophy.

That'll be fun. I'll talk to Jonathan. What's up, Jonathan? Oh, man, I love New York, but shout out to these Lakers, man. We got to make, all right. Well, that's a different story for another day, man. Hey, fellas, Paul's, but I really like this show, man. You got a TV, you got a range, oh, Leo, I like this little conversation. You know the young fellas, man. But what is that? I don't know about you, TV. I like this trio. Oh, hey, bro. I like Beansy Care, bro. I don't know about you, TV. I like being, you know, Beansy Care, but, uh, yeah, man, it's cool. Shout out to you guys putting the work, man. I just came back from San Diego yesterday, and I got to take my ass to work too. And, uh, hey, man, I want to tell you, I was a, inside yesterday's game. I think the Yankees offense is pretty solid and, uh, Spencer Jones has been out of this planet, man. And let me tell you something, bro. So the rays have the braze and the astral's coming up.

Both teams are really hungry for wins. They're really finding for a position. Now the Yankees have the Rockies and the Mets, man. So the, like Aaron Boone says, it's right in front of them. If we go to that race series and we're not, and we're not at least just two or one game down, that's, that's how long their ass is already. Come on. And I mean, what else you want? Hang on. Don't hang up on Jonathan, because I want to hit him with something. All right. So you said two, right? If there are two games back of the race going into that four game series that begins on September 22nd, I don't believe that to be good enough, because let's just say, hang on, hang on, brother. Let's just say, they take three or four, right? Your two games back and take three or four. You clear the two games you're now tied. The problem is because you lost the season series, despite taking three or four, you still need help. Let's all look. The race, some series to end the year, the Phillies will have something to play for it. But all of a sudden, man, the Oreos might have something to play for.

The Oreos are in position for a playoff spot. And so you're going to need help or Tampa, in addition to you taking care of business that last series. So I would say you've got to be one game back. And another thing too, don't dismiss the match, bro. The match has been playing better. They're playing more free. There's no pressure. That their young players are coming up. You know, huge. Joe Leo told you, the Bichette had the biggest hit in two years. So all of a sudden, the match is playing good baseball. Don't dismiss them and just come into it thinking, oh yeah, we'll sweep them. That is true. But I'm going to tell you this though, our rather B is the Yankee's position that in the race position. I'll rather play the Oreos and I think Yankee stayed him, than be playing the hungry-ass Phillies team. I'll rather be in that position. And we go back to Aaron Bull once again. It's all in front of them. And they don't pick up these games, man. Their asses belong in the wall card. I mean, come on. What up?

Jonathan, I appreciate the call. You know, I would rather be the team ahead by four games in the division. Staring at owning the tie. The great thing is, it's right in front of us. Staring at owning the tie breaker. That's who I would write. It called me crazy, but at this point, I would rather be the team that is ahead than the team that is behind. Might be a high-tech season, Chappell. I was up, Steve. Yo, Steve. We've got to have it. But divide by yourself, Ray and Joe Leo. The chemistry is amazing. You guys sound great all morning. Appreciate it, man. Oh, man. And my thing, you know, I know it's not been talked about for me, as a Chinese-American, Jonathan, starting today, is like slowly looking forward to it. He had a great AAA cup of, you know, you last year.

Did not come up and do well. Did not make the team start out and trouble a dish. It's not so great, but Ray has been coming on. So I am so looking forward to his start today. I can't talk about it. Joe, Jonathan, today for the night. Yeah, absolutely. Listen, I think that, and I appreciate the call, like, there are, and I learned this from Alan Han, which is funny. Like, and this was a conversation, like, back in the days when the nicks had these brutal teams. And it is that when you get to this part of the season, where, I mean, there aren't any expectations going forward, you're just watching players. You're just trying to identify players who will figure to be part of the solution going forward. And so, look, shout out to you and your heritage. Obviously, this means a lot to you. And I would be the same way. But as far as the meta-concerned going forward,

I don't know that fans locked into the results of these games. But with the rotation set up the way that it is, and the amount of question marks you have going forward, you were just looking for answers. Sean Beniah had a three-month stretch, where he looked like, hey, man, he's going to be part of your equation. And then, God, it has been just getting shallacked. And if Jonah Tong can prove to be that guy, maybe you're starting to get some answers for next season. Thanks for listening to that DPA-Crow and Rathabird podcast. All right, bye-bye.
