Top story for legacy heating and cooling home of no payments and no interest. For a year, that's how you build a legacy, legacy heating and cooling. The Edmonton Oilers stand pat on the day. But not on the week, of course. On Monday, they traded a 2028 second-around draft choice and got back Conor Murphy, half-retained by Chicago
to help fix the right side of their defense. On Wednesday, the Oilers traded a conditional 27 first round pick for a half-retained Jason Dickinson along in the deal with the conditional number one was dumping the contract of Andrew Bach and Pony. The Oilers got back Colton Dock. Dock along with Dickinson and Murphy all in the lineup tonight. We'll hear from Chris Knoblock, Colton Dock and Jason Dickinson momentarily. But not before, we go into NHL today, which is presented by our friends at Elite Promotional Marketing. Elite Promotional Marketing and your local branded merchandise specialist head to ElitePromoneMarketing.com. I have given you the Oilers trades. No Oilers trades today since we went off the air today at two o'clock. The Calgary Flames and the Colorado Avalanche hooked up with a blockbuster for all the trades.
Here is Hayden Gannon. Well, the Calgary Flames have moved forward. Nazim Codri back to the Colorado Avalanche where he won a Stanley Cup Codri in a fourth round or fetching Colorado's first in 2028. A second round pick, Victor Olosin, prospect Max Curran, and the Flames retain 20% of Codri's salary. John Carlson going to the Anaheim Ducks from the Washington Capitals traded for a 2027 third round pick, a conditional first round pick as well. Anaheim gets to decide whether the pick goes this year or next year. The Vancouver Canucks moving Conor Garland to the Columbus Blue Jackets for a 2028 second and a 2028 third. Elite Kings have given Cory Perry another shot at a Stanley Cup moving him to the Tampa Bay Lightning for a 2028 second. Kings retaining 50% of Perry's deal. Nick Fellino going to the Minnesota Wild. The Black Cogs have moved him for future considerations. Buffalo Sabers get two guys to help in their playoff push, acquiring Logan Stanley and Luke Shen from the Winnipeg Jets for a 2027 second. 2026 fourth, Isaac Rosen and Jacob Bryson.
Luke's brother Braden Shen also being moved, leaving the St. Louis Blues to join the New York Islanders. St. Louis gets back a first, Jonathan Druenn, a third and goalie prospect, Marcus Gitloff. Also moving Justin Falk. He is going to the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for defenseman Justin Hull, prospect Demetri Buchild and Nick Cove. My apologies, Jonathan. And a 2026 first round pick and a 2026 third round pick. Minnesota Wild moving defenseman David Jirichek to the Philadelphia Flyers. They get that Bobby Brink. Former Oilers player Jordan Eberley resigning with the Seattle Crack in 5.5 million for two years. Elmer Soderbum moved to the San Jose Sharks. Detroit Red Wings get back a 2026 third round pick. Minnesota moving Vinnie Hiss Hinnestroja for future considerations. Sean Gabriel Paggio getting a three-year deal. That pays him 4.85 million per season. And the Boston Bruins pick up Lucas Reigel from the Vancouver Canucks for a sixth rounder in this upcoming draft. All right, we've got five other games in the NHL. We have Montreal, in Anaheim, Colorado.
Is that Dallas, Florida visits Detroit, St. Louis, and San Jose, Minnesota, and Vegas. And the Canucks at the Chicago Black Ox. I guess that's six other games. We'll tell you the biggest field condors in action. They host Tucson for a pair on Saturday and Sunday. And the Eberts and Oil Kings here at Rogers Place on Saturday and Sunday, two awesome games. Medicine and PA, if you're looking for great Junior Hockey, visit Oil Kings. What is that? Oil Kings.ca, I believe, is the website for them. The Nazum pottery trade is quite something. Let me tell you. And we've watched over the, it's interesting with some, not all, some of the media personalities in Caldery. And how they fully endorsed and supported Sam Bennett, the highest ever picking flames history, who the flames basically traded away, because he wasn't getting any traction in Calgary. And then Matthew Cuchuck, who wasn't going to resign in Calgary after the Oilers took the flames out in five. And there were a lot of people down in Caltown
cheering for the Florida Panthers. Don't think for a second if the Oilers make the playoffs. Colorado's making the playoffs. But if Edmonton were to play Colorado in the third round, if the Oilers got out of the Pacific, all day. Well, it's just, it's just in their nature, you know? You know the old joke, how do you spell dynasty in Calgary? Oh, and he, I've already seen some of the comments out of there. Just adds, I guess, fuel to the fire. All right, let's do this. We are going to head into the Oilers Now Audio Vault. The Oilers Now Audio Vault is brought to you by Direct Workwear in these type budget times. Direct Workwear is the superhero you're wallet deserves. Cute selection, low prices at Direct Workwear. Jason Dickinson will play Hill Center, the Oilers Third Line tonight. And he'll you have these thoughts on accepting of the offensive role. Yeah, obviously I love scoring goals. Don't, don't get me wrong. But my favorite thing about doing what I do
is seeing the frustration, seeing the, the, the will to win come out of guys during the game. You know, it's a, it's a battle. It's a fight the entire time and seeing the frustration build is a win for me. And I love, I love seeing that because at the same time, it usually creates offense later in the game. It might not happen right away. It might be a 50, 50 game for the first period, the second period, but then it's the longevity to stay with it for the third period where I'm absolutely grinding them down and they just don't want to do it anymore. Meanwhile, Colton Doc had these thoughts on joining the Ebb and Tenoilers. Yeah, I think it's a great opportunity. I'm super excited to be here. I think I'm just going to try and bring some physicality to my energy, use my size to my advantage. I think, you know, in my game, just using my ass, that's, you know, to my advantage. Here we go. When we come back for Century, because Sino and the All-New Silly Sports Bar, Ron McLean. Close your eyes, exhale, fill your body relax, let go of whatever you're carrying today.

We welcome back to the show. From NHL Hockey and Rogers and Hockey.com, Canada, Ron McLean. Hello, Ron. How are you? I'm good, Bob. How are you doing? I enjoyed sitting there waiting for something to happen. And it finally did at about 4 o'clock Eastern time, the Calgary to Colorado. But otherwise, pretty quiet day. The one thing that was interesting is a lot of Kevin B. X's friends got dealt. David Caron was sensational in his interview on SportsNet today. Ryan Strom is a friend of his down in Anaheim. And so he goes to Calgary and Nick Folino, famously turned down a fight from B. X at one time. And then we were interviewing Nick on the air and he apologized to Kevin for not taking that fight. And he explained his reasoning and Kevin bought it for sure. But he was funny to see three guys at B. X. A new, at least we got interviews out of the day. Well, they're older guys. And sometimes that's who gets moved in these situations, right? Absolutely. And Luke Shen is obviously the best example. 10 teams now, but he's a guy that teams covet. And Braden was also kind of a headliner today. It was a pretty slow day, but the end of the Islanders
was news. Well, the orders made their moves early. Monday, it was interesting because Stan Bowman did his availability. But the deal was not, he said that on yesterday's show, was not consummated when he was talking about the fact that the team needed to upgrade their team defense. And then he ended up getting Conor Murphy done about an hour to an hour and a half later for a second-round pick. The Hawks retained some money on that. And then they had to get creative because it didn't work out for Andrew Mashupani here. So it was Mashupani in a conditional number one. And they got half-retained on Dickinson and then Colton Doc, who stand drafted. And I've always kind of liked Colton Doc. I like Colton and Kirby Doc. I like Big Rangy guys. It was size. And I thought the orders were a little small in their bottom six. So a team that is second and goals for in first and the power play, but 26 and goals against the 27th in, depending on, you know, by the way, Ron McLean, you want to know why the Pacific Division has struggled? I'm going to give you the stat to your Vegas.
Who, by the way, did not get a goalie. Vegas dead last in five on five save percentage. Edmonton is 31st. And those two stats, more than anything, revealed part of the challenges learned. That's part of the reason why the orders in Vegas aren't where people thought they were going to be. But what's your assessment on the orders going out and getting always loved Hunter Murphy? He is funny. Nick Felino was talking about his time in Chicago. And the question basically was, what was it like being a father figured a Connor Bedard and some of the Black Hawks? And he said, well, it wasn't just me. It was me and Jason Dickinson and Connor Murphy. So he pointed out the two guys that stand new or obviously leadership material. Dickinson had done a really good job, particularly on Capri Soft. That was one of the guys he drove to distraction in his time in Chicago. And when I look at him, Bob, he only had the one kind of breakout year with 22 goals a couple years ago. But he played with Nick Felino that year and they were the shut down line. So that sounds like the goal he's gonna have for Edmonton.
He was really good in it. He did get 22 goals. He's got kind of a sling shot release that reminds me a bit of the way Newton Hopkins shoots the puck. But I do think he could score. And especially on a team with guys like Connor and Leon, he could be a finisher more than people. No, I know that they're not asking them to do that. To your point about the defensive record of the Pacific division. And that was a big reason why Colorado had to go get Codrete to try and win that central division because that team was likely gonna get say a Utah or Seattle, somebody that you think you should beat. Whereas if you finished second or third in your Minnesota Dallas, a potential Stanley Cup champion is going out in the first round. So it was a big move for Colorado to shore up their bid to win their division. And I think for Edmonton, it just really spells out how important it is for them to try and win the Pacific. They're only four out. They've got a really good opportunity to get that division and hopefully a far weaker opponent in the first round of the playoffs. Well, Anaheim right now is going pretty good and they just data.
Yeah, that was a good get. Nick Kiprio Sassani wonders the Carlson will resign with Washington this summer. Maybe did them a favor because they knew they were in trouble. But yeah, for sure Anaheim is right there in the mix in the Pacific division. But I still feel I like the I told you and I'm not hiding the fact that I, you know, maybe Conor Ingram or Christian Jari proved me wrong. I would have loved to have seen them getting on one of those big name goalies or another goalies. I know, but he didn't need nobody did. And you know, the last time anybody really did was roll ascending 2006 when you know, Kevin Lowell got him. I'll never forget it. Ron, we were over at the orders we're at the old office then. It was in the Edmonton investors group days. And I love the trade. And I remember getting into an animate that I was hosting total sports with Mark Specter. And there was a columnist in town who wasn't from the West. And we got into it. And I was just like, you know,
that to do something, the golden was killing them all year long. The actually it in this is really before Ron. Well, Bob, you would remember too, then. He didn't win right away, Dwight. You know, they were on a road trip. They lost in San Jose, I think. And I think they lost like his first three games. And then came home and he started. And then he started to do his thing. And he was obviously magical. I think it was the most assertive I ever got with one of the writers, like to the point where, you know, because this guy included some team from Quebec and everything. And I get it with the Montreal Canadians, but there was some other stuff. And it was just really funny. It was really comical. And of course, Rollie shoved it up. So everybody's, you know, what? In the play. That you're in. Maybe Ingram does that, you know, like he. If Stan Bowman, you know, he, I liked it. He went out and got guys he understands, you know, that was what Darryl Sutter did when he got kickers off. It was a huge thing to have the inside track on a guy. And Dickinson, by the way, just for tonight, I maybe you saw this, but the hockey writers reported
that Dickinson scored in his first NHL game in Dallas April 7, 2016. And he scored in his first game with the Chicago Black Box October 15, 2022. So he has a knack of scoring in his debut. Keep an eye on that. Well, they're going to need it because they're playing a really good team because Caroline is a really good team. Colorado low getting Calgary. And Ron, you know, I hear some of the comments out of Calgary. And, you know, I get it. They don't love Edmonton, but pumped up for a Kachuck and Bennett. I'm like, all right, so you guys squandered the Bennett pick and got a number two back in a C grade prospect. And then you turn around and you have to end up trading Kachuck. And this shows you what a rocket scientist I am, Ron. I thought Calgary won the trade when they hit the trade. Because they were getting McKenzie-Wieger and Jonathan Yuberno shows you what I know. But they cheered for, you know, all for Florida in the last two years. And now I know, damn well, that if the otters somehow get out of the Pacific Division of the plate Colorado, I already know what's coming. Colorado is going to be a hard team to beat, Ron. America leads the world in medicine development.
It matters. We get new medicines first, nearly three years faster. Five million Americans go to work because we make medicines here at home. And not relying on other countries keeps us safe. But China is racing to overtake us. Will we let them? Or will we choose to stay ahead? When America leads, America cures. Let's tell Washington to keep us in the lead. Learn how at AmericaCures.com. Pay for by Farma. Spring is here. And there's a whole new way to try at Starbucks that's made perfect for you. Choose your sweetness, dial it up. Or keep things light at a touch of pistachio, a hint of strawberry, or vanilla, or make it a spring classic with lavender. Because this season, there's endless ways to chie at Starbucks. Well, there's so big down the middle, right? McKinnon, Brock Nelson, Cadbury, and Kua. They picked up as well. So, but they, you know, I look at Minnesota's defense, I think it's, I think they're the sleeper. I really do think of Minnesota.
Yeah, yeah. You agree with me? Yeah. That's wrong. That's right. That defense can handle Colorado's offense, I believe. But it's, you know, that will be, it will be so important to win the Pacific for, or sorry, the Central for those teams because the alternative is just a really tough out. By the way, the St. Louis Blues checked the phone call records, texts, and emails of staff members to try to find out who leaked the Colton Paracode traded, right? Okay. Well, Colton Paracode is represented by Edmonton's Jerry Johansson. I have done multiple events with the Colton over the years. I'm sorry, man, but call me a conspiracy theorist on that, the team that had something to gain from that getting out, or the St. Louis. Like, why would the Buffalo savers? Like, what happens if Paracode doesn't accept the trade? They're great, right? And the agency doesn't want it out there because, you know, he's not trying to put pressure on his own guys as well. Interesting stuff nonetheless.
You ever, you ever think, you know, Ron, oh, this team won the trade deadline and then the exact opposite happens? Well, you know, I didn't think Brett Martian to Florida was gonna be the bonanza that it was so that I'm kind of giving you the reverse version of that answer. The team, the team that I think of has, that loaded up, it wasn't pretty deadline, but when the Nashville Predators got Martia Sola, and Stamco and O'Reilly, I had them, you know, as a juggernaut, and I was dead Ron. So, you know, yeah, it's so, you know, and I remember when Gilmore got traded at a Calgary to Toronto, I knew he was good. Yeah, but for Gilmore, McCown, mattress, Wamsley, and Vanderbilt in return for Craig Baroube, ironically, Lehman, Reese, Michelle Petit, and Alexander Gidinyak. So it was, you know, it was a disaster strain for Calgary, but Gilmore ended up that year and the next being, maybe the best player in the NHL. So, you never know, then that's why I kind of like,
taken sent to me as a good quiet acquisition. I like your, you know, dark size and Murphy's a great leader. So maybe they've done a good job of preparing for this playoff. All right, awesome stuff is always Ron. Thank you very, now, we'll get out of town for a couple of days. Yeah, we went to Turks and Kekos, and it was really funny. The resort I met was, it's Waimara, Waimara in Turks, and James Duffy has a property in the area. So I ran and I went golfing, and I kept stepping on TSN golf balls with the letter J. Now, he says, I have French bulldogs on my balls, not the letter J, but I don't believe them. I just told him, if Craig Deadline was quiet, I'd be willing to show up my, he stole from home to one of the places down in the Turks and Kekos that he has. Just to confirm what you said is, he has French bulldogs on his balls. That's I believe it. Exactly, you can quote me on that one. Rock your beauty, thanks a lot. All right, you got her, Bob. Yeah, you bet. Oh, okay.
Well, T-Hops has jumped in the queue. You can text us on the aisle. So you find four of his text line. The blues checking phone call records. That's rich. Yeah. Oh, there's no, I'd, I'd offer sheet my mother. Would you have offer sheet of canald? I don't know. All right, it is 358 in a well country. Thomas Diaz has an 880 news, whether traffic update and when we come back, we're gonna hook up with Brian Burke for ultra shy. Monster energy. Everybody knows why monster zero ultra. That's the OG.
