4:05The totality of looking at the benefits and the rights that they should not only fund the coal line, not only the coal in both sides, but getting brought to motion is a brilliant way to that. This is so fantastic. So that was elevated in the game. But really now, technically, I'm a first-time senator and he's seen a gentleman on a two-row and he sees these guys in front of me and loves him. And so if they added this way, I'd like that to me. And the senators had been paid this by 55. He's been able to pull that off. It was a little bit faster to go the way it was trying to change. I thought they had a split. So I'm on the spectrum. 6:08and get him involved in their management team? It's a tough deal. That's been going on forever. It's a little bit like hockey Canada. It's as much who you know as what you know. It's kind of the way it's always been, but at the end of the day, it's hard to deny that Chris McFarland has done an excellent job there. This is a huge week for the owners. They had a rough one against Carolina on Friday. Carolina is the fastest team in the East. Then the flames and in Rennen Bussey had a tougher start, but Calgary is a hard out. They're especially at home. They're a hard out there. But the orders got, Carolina took it to have it on Friday. Orders are the good bounce back performance Sunday in Vegas. That said, I didn't love Vegas's game that night. They've been taking on a little bit of water here. Any theories as to why, Brian? Vegas has been taking on a little bit of water all year. I mean, they've obviously had been leading the division

7:09for most of the year. Kind of based off of a hot start, but yeah, everybody's getting better. That's the bottom line. Vegas spent a good team for a night. But, you know, Mark Stone injured again. Some other injuries. Haven't got the pop. I thought they might get from Rasmus Henderson, who is a highly coveted guy. And I thought that would be a big move for them. Just hasn't worked out that way. And they don't all work out perfect. That's for sure. But, you know, been a lot of pressure on Bruce Cassidy. Even as much as, you know, hearing there's potential, he could still be changed this year. That's the way it goes when expectations are so high. It's, they're not easy jobs. That's all you can say.

And I said, no, that's not an issue for the league to fix. That's just a little bit of a learning process as we go deeper into the salary cap that recognizing that, in my opinion, you really shouldn't have more than your dream top guys, maybe. On no moves, but we're seeing those numbers jump up, and players are getting more comfortable in this new world. Continuing to play for a club, even if, you know, the signal is so strong, they don't want you there. But, you know, the personalities of players are changing. That's by no means a shot at Colton-Paraco. It was his right. My real point is that I think teams need to be just a little, and I've been there. It's tough when you're trying to sign a guy,

10:23and they must have, you know, protection. But when you get into no moves and you have no options, it's really dehabilitating for teams. And I think we're going to see more of that in the future. I think you're going to see more of an emphasis on GMs as they watch people struggle through it to make stronger decisions. For elite guys, it's hard to stop. But once you go below those kind of real, real elite players, there's not many players that make a deal that will say no in the end over the trade protection, and yet the agents have been really steadfast with it and want a lot of those battles. Well, as you know, Jerry Johansson has Colton-Paraco. You talked to him the day the Blues players receive word because we're up for lunch when that happened. That there was going to be changes, and he did. He ended up getting a couple of number ones. He's left a little bit of a, you know, a nice parting gift

11:26to say the least for the next general manager. That's going to be Alex Sneen. And I'm going to ask you about Toronto and the Maple Leafs because I never thought Toronto would be in this position. And you know, I've always liked Dick LaWa. Colorado ended up getting them. I did think there was a possibility halfway through the year that Toronto might be challenged. But I didn't think that at the start of the year. I actually thought Toronto could compete, and it just hasn't come through. It's been, you know what? We've seen a real year of transition, right? Buffalo forever, you know, didn't make the playoffs 14 years in a row. They lead their division right now in Eastern Conference. Tampa Bay has swung back with vengeance. Florida is on the ropes to Florida Panthers to make the playoffs the Leafs. They're not going to make it. I mean, I could still actually see Florida forcing their way in. It's not going to happen for Toronto. You know, this LA mess. I mean, there's people that think the orders might miss the playoffs in the Western Conference. So it has been a bit of a year of transition, but just to your thought of the body and work for the Maple Leafs as well, Brian. My overall thoughts on the trade deadline were this.

12:28If you were a seller, right? I thought it was an incredible time to make moves. And it almost, it was like a 100 year flood. That's how good the prices were if you had a bunch of players you want to move. Conversely, I thought a lot of jobs did it. A lot of GMs did an amazing job. Still making moves and making their teams better in the most difficult of environments. That was the storyline for me. Toronto, I felt like they should have unloaded everybody. It's a little bit more complicated than that. Not Austin Matthews. If they're ever going to make a move on him, that would be out of season, in my opinion. But Oliver Ekman-Larson, other players they looked at, Matthew and I's name was allegedly floating out there. There was just a lot happening, but I would have moved mountains if I was a seller at that deadline to take the prices you were getting,

13:31take a step back to take two steps forward. I didn't see Toronto exploit that to the max in my opinion. I really didn't. I know they have a, they're currently eighth in the league. They have a first round pick that they could reclaim if they finished fifth or worse. That's probably not going to happen. There's a lot of talk on all sides of that because now you're into, they would put themselves where they have unprotected picks after this year's draft. And maybe that's not a comfortable feeling for them. But at the end of the day, I would have done it. You know, you can move your team one way or the other. Nobody ever talks about a bob. But, you know, you'll see some teams here with this really strong draft that it's not that they're not trying to win. But you have some flexibility managing your roster that you can guide it a little bit in one direction or another. And I thought that,

14:32you know, for Toronto, it's a tough deal because there's so much riding on their team being so good. But at some point, you just run out of runway and you end up getting forced to make a hard decision. I wanted to see them go more and to be honest with you this year and just take the prices. There's still the Toronto Maple Leafs. Cap space is going up. I could easily have crafted a future where it would have been better for them to be more aggressive. All right, Brian, awesome stuff.
