In the process of researching this week's Night Sky segments, I came across a NASA report concerning a potentially dangerous chemical, originally found in significant quantities on the Earth and now throughout the solar system. Chemists have identified it as dihydrogen monoxide, though it is also known as hydrogen hydroxide as well as hydric acid. Some of the concerns raised include wide-ranging dangers from accidental inhalation, mutation of DNA to serious injury when overexposed to either its solid or gaseous form. In addition to these health issues, dihydrogen monoxide also contributes to metal corrosion, electrical short circuits, and contributes to the formation of acid rain. And yet you'll find this readily available without warning labels as to its serious nature. By hydrogen, meaning two hydrogen atoms, monoxide, one oxygen atom, is more commonly known
