ESB Lodges Plans For Major Renewable Energy System At Moneypoint

ESB has lodged plans for a major renewable energy development at Moneypoint Power Station. The Electricity Supply Board has applied for permission to build a 300 Mega-Watt Long Duration Energy Storage Facility at the West Clare site. It will be used to store excess energy generated from offshore wind which can then be redistributed to the national grid when supplies are low. Doonbeg Fianna Fáil Councillor Rita McInerney says it's a huge step forward for the region.
