For James H Brown and Associates, Alberta injury lawyers, the heavy hitters of injury law. Trent Brown, a two time CFL. I'll start. He would love the editions of Conor Murphy and Jason Dickinson and Colton Doc, because he likes guys that play at physical. And certainly Murphy and Doc like to play physical. You're home for boats, ATVs, motorbikes, and all the gear you need. Hello, Jason. How you doing? Very good. Very good. Thanks for having me. Yeah, how stressful as a former Do you recall how stressful the trade deadline was? For you, for players back in the day? Well, yeah, I know. I mean, I think as you spend some time in the league and go through it once before you kind of a feeling that, you know, change is good. Sometimes there's a new opportunity, I think. Never really know what to expect. Yeah, do you recall when you guys got the Wayne Rollsson in 2006? Did you think because you got the Wayne Rollsson?
You also had a Yaroslav Spashek. I remember somebody tweeting on our posting on hockey's future. Oilers are going to get a dick. Turns from he gave it his well and then saps it off in the in the recent trade. But do you remember that flurry of activity from Kevin Lowe? And why were your initial thoughts specific to that year given that it's Emmington Carolina tonight? By the way, Jason, about the, you know, pending impact the Wayne Rollsson might have. Yeah, no, I mean, obviously it was, you know, an interesting time in our group. I think, you know, we kind of been grinding and just kind of in the mix and were, you know, looking to, you know, take that next step as a group. And, um, you know, adding Dwayne and the way he came in and played. I really was, he was outstanding. Like, I mean, from the day, day one, he got to our team.
He was engaged and, you know, very vocal and very, very competitive, which added to our group, which was something we needed. Yeah, absolutely. All right, let's take a look at your team. You had a great weekend last weekend. You went three and oh, but in fairness, you probably had an easier schedule. It's about to get a heck of a lot tougher this weekend at home at Rodgers Place on Saturday and Sunday, isn't it Jason? Yeah, no, it's a great weekend for us coming up ahead. I mean, we're going to play the two teams that are ahead of us in the standings. And it's a great opportunity for our group to see where we're at. And, um, you know, obviously look to continue to grow as a group. And, uh, take steps to, you know, see where we are going into the playoffs. America leads the world in medicine development. It matters. We get new medicines first nearly three years faster.
Five million Americans go to work because we make medicines here at home. And not relying on other countries keeps us safe. But China is racing to overtake us. Will we let them or will we choose to stay ahead? When America leads, America cures. Let's tell Washington to keep us in the lead. Learn how at americacures.com. Pay for it by pharma. Spring is here. And there's a whole new way to try at Starbucks that's made perfect for you. Choose your sweetness, dial it up or keep things light at a touch of pistachio, a hint of strawberry or vanilla or make it a spring classic with lavender. Because this season, there's endless ways to try at Starbucks. Yeah, well, uh, the oil king said, a medicine hat and print solver at the two games. And this medicine hat team, Willie Desjardins, he's an NHL coach, right? And he's always been able to breed offensive confidence in players. But they have a guy doing something on the back end, Jason.
I know you as a former WHL defenseman can appreciate this. This guy might be leading the western league in goals if he didn't miss a few games. Bryce Pickford 41 goals this year. They got the Ruck brothers as well. And I think the last time you guys played, they had I'm not sure they had him in the lineup. But there's, you know, there's no question that he's a, they got two really unique guys on the back end when you factor in Jonas Wu as well, don't they? Yeah, I know. I mean, they, uh, they really have a team that thrives offensively. They're a team that likes to create offense and really puts pressure on, on the team they're playing to, you know, move the puck well. And if you don't move the puck well and, and, uh, you know, have a real good team game, they can create opportunities. And they've got guys that can capitalize. I mean, both Ruck brothers up front are, are having great years. And, and the two guys you mentioned on the back end are, um, elite puck movers and players
that can score from, from distance as well as join the Russian and, and be involved in, in, in any offensive play. I think, uh, you know, they're, they're, they're elite for sure for junior hockey. And, uh, we're going to have to be on our toes and be detailed to, uh, play against them. Well, five of the top 10 scores in the entire league are playing tomorrow night. Liam Ruck leads the WHO and points with 93 as brother Marcus is second with 92. Uh, Jonas Wu, who's played 50 games. He's got 78 points, including 26 goals. He's an offenseman. You have Sochin with 78 points. He's ninth in the league scoring. And Bryce Pickford, a defenseman, is second in the WHO with 41 goals. Tenth in points with the 76 points. And, oh, yeah, you still have Miroslav Haulink on your squad who's, uh, 12th in the league. So there's going to be some high end offense there. Max Kerns writes God traded today.
And then now's some cadre trade. Unfortunately, you're not going to have him. Uh, is he going to be out for the rest of the regular season? Yeah, Max is out, um, has shoulder issue. And, I mean, uh, he probably won't be back this year. But obviously, the elite player and the league. And, um, probably an exciting day for him to get traded today and get an opportunity on a team that's kind of going into the rebuild type situation. And, um, you know, we're, we're, we're still very happy with the group we have. We've got to, we've got a real good group of guys. And we're excited about where we can go and what we can do. And, um, it's about playing the game and going out and, uh, playing our system and our structure and giving ourselves the best opportunity to win. All right. So PA has 96 points and 60 games. Medicine hat has 96 points and 61. You guys are 83 and 60 year and third Prince Albert is here on Sunday. Medicine hat here tomorrow.
How are the two teams different? Well, I mean, I, I think medicine hats more of a team that goes up and down the ice. Um, they like to, you know, play transition game and play a game where, uh, they get going up and down the ranking and capitalize on opportunities. And in PA's, uh, team that is structured, uh, if that's some good puck movers on the back end, um, and more of a all around game, I think, you know, two different styles of play and, you know, two, two great challenges for our group. All right. Awesome stuff, Jason. Good luck. Uh, tomorrow night, uh, against medicine hat here at Rogers Place. Thanks for having me. Take care. Thank you, Matt. I want to read this text here in the Ashley Fine Forest text line. Bob, I, I really want to say this one more time so we can move on. You read my text. It would be a mistake to trade Skinner because he was a hometown kid with a contract to play for a last kick of the can with the team. However, when we got Jerry, I thought to myself that he would do better against the team
like Colorado because of his puck handling and battle level one on one. You might not like Jerry's comments calling out the D, but maybe it's just a new guy trying to be a leader on the team and a year that the competition's going to be insane. I believe in Jerry to come out and prove his game. Well, I didn't like the, like I just, if I was in the room, I'm looking at that going to just take ownership of it, right? And since then he has done that. He has changed a bit. I just, it is, it is different playing here for a goalie and for a player. It's different play in Edmonton. It's a different level of intensity. When we come back, what are his head coach, Chris Knoblock? Oilers now game day. Land of report powered by Birdflorn and contracting. The name you can stand on. Imagine what they can look, make what they can do for you. Let's do this. We are going to go to this day when there's history brought to you by newest travel. Your local travel experts. While on this day in 2012, the Oilers Defeat the San Jose Sharks 3-2 in San Jose, Jordan Everley registered his 30th goal of the season, Sam Gagne scored in the shootout to lift the Oilers to victory. We have about a minute and a half here to catch up with Oilers head coach Chris Noblock. Chris, tonight the Carolina Hurricanes won the best teams in the NHL, but your team is a different looking team. You're going to have three new players in the lineup, Conor Murphy on defense, obviously Jason Dickinson, third line center, and Colton Dock, fourth line at a point, just a thought on integrating those new players into the lineup and what you're hoping to see tonight. Yeah, I think the transition is going to be pretty easy for those guys. It's not like you're adding a guy that's coming from another team who's been on the power
play and playing 25 minutes a night. Those kind of situations, I think those guys will complement our group really well. It's called them in a group and playing good defensive hockey and something that we've been stressing for the last few weeks or months, and I'll three of them will add that element, good defensive hockey and some grit, some sandpaper. It's been a long time since the Oilers had a true third line center. I mean, you might make an argument maybe all the way since Craig Metavitch coached the team and Craig didn't have the top end that you have, but he had decent third and fourth lines. Mike Peckett during the old six playoff run. How specifically, because we talked a bit about the acquisition economist for the other day, but how specifically might Jason Dickinson help your team out a bit? Well, I think not only is he beneficial in shutting the other team's top players down and being able to play those matchups and doing quite well, but it also frees up Connor and Leon from not playing against the best players all chefs and just gives them an opportunity
to play against the third and fourth line sometimes, so yeah, I think it helps our team quite a bit. Here we go. That's what I'm going to tell Chris Noblock. We will tell you that if you missed any of today's show, make sure to download and subscribe to the Oters now podcast available and Apple podcast Spotify and anywhere you get your streaming audio. My apologies. Today was five guests Friday, plus a quick rip with Chris Noblock. We did not get a chance to get to a lot of the text. I know that several of you took a lot of time to fire some off, much appreciated. And yeah, hey, had a great fun specifically with Ryan Rischardt. That was a fun debate. Coming up, so we got the game tonight, the city Ford face-off shows up next with Brandon Eskott, Sundance, the Oters and the Golden Knights, Monday regular is Frank Sarevalik, Craig McDowish for a friends of contract equipment and the Condors report will all take place.
