Dundee, Williams & Oates | Sunday Night's Main Event Review

0:00And hello everybody, welcome to our show following Sunday night's main event is the WWE return to Atlanta for a concert followed by some matches. I am John Pollock alongside waiting and we are going to get right into things. A very tragic weekend in professional wrestling with several passings that we're going to be talking about to begin the show. And the first being Andy Williams. How much of this were you seeing in real time on Saturday night because it was very quickly that I was getting contacted by people that had been at the show and this was spreading very quickly on on Saturday after this event right near Pittsburgh. I I found out shortly after like the post on right it came out. Yeah well Andy Williams who I'm sure many people would be aware of from AEW where he wrestled as the butcher for many years there in the the infancy of AEW he died on Saturday this after collapsing at a show for enjoy wrestling that was taking place in Millvale Pennsylvania essentially right in or just outside of Pittsburgh.

1:15At this location Mr. Smalls Theater and enjoy wrestling is just about to shut its doors I believe it has one more show planned and this was their penultimate show. So the word was spreading very quickly that Andy Williams had collapsed he had some type of medical event at this show and the rest of the matches were canceled they ushered everybody out there was an ambulance that that came he was transported to the hospital. I did reach out to the Allegheny County medical examiner and while we don't have you know thorough details yet the incident occurred at 8.45 pm and this time of death was listed at 9.43 pm so he essentially died an hour after this took place any died at the hospital according to the medical examiner he was 48 years old.

2:15Enjoy did put out a statement last night this was before it was public that he had died and enjoy wrote quote Andy collapsed at the end of his match this evening our doctors on staff tended to him immediately administering CPR until the ambulance arrived we sent everyone home and are at the hospital now waiting for more information thanks everyone who helped and has reached out. There are obviously going to be an o more information that comes out there TMZ did post this 911 dispatch call that would at least the the call makes mention of him striking his head on a post so that remains a open ended question as well and I mean it was it just sounded like it was a really scary scene for those that were in attendance rich fan of this site and a pwd. You torch he was at the show as well I I heard from others as well that were at the show and certainly as way mentioned on this reddit thread there were a lot of people that were immediately going to this thread and sharing what they had seen at the show which I imagine would have only been a few hundred people at the show.

3:32Yeah certainly I mean tragic you know what more can you really say about it you know 48 is not far from where where we are in terms of age but with this particular person you know I'm sure everybody is seen today but he somebody who I think I'm not just you know I have has accomplished a lot in this world but even more so in it in a completely different world so this is some news that has completely I think. I think it's been a very much more than I've touched way more people than I imagine he would even you know. Think it's been astounding today to see the outpouring for this individual and just how well loved he was by so many in this industry like it was just so many of these testimonials from from people whether they knew him for a long time a short time it just seemed like this guy was you know left a really big impression on so many people in this industry that it was you know you know that there are going to be memorials posted after someone passes but this this was to me like it was really astounding just to see the volume of just as you could read these like these were not just people paying there was respect it went a lot deeper for a lot of these people that knew him.

4:56Yeah and almost unanimously people would talk about him as this incredibly fine person beyond you know what talent and abilities he he was able to offer in his arts. The sort of thing you would hear throughout is just talking about how great of a person he was. You know he's to very interesting story that he's involved with obviously like he had an entire career and fame before coming to professional wrestling and as we talk about someone that was 48 years old. I don't think it was appreciated like just how like he gets a contract in AEW when he's like well into his 40s at this point like that's pretty rare of someone that gets a national contract and you know of course he he formed every time I die in 1998 and they toured together until just a couple of years ago as well but he was always like like if you hear some of the interviews that have been reposted and such like he was a massive follower of pro wrestling like that's what he wanted to do and he

6:05he like from touring like he was totally happy just doing independent shows and being in small venues and wrestling in front of a hundred people like that was what he sort of saw as his ceiling in pro wrestling he was not someone that was in this with the aspirations of headlining WrestleMania or even getting a WWE contract it was just going out there and wrestling that seemed to be like you know the the small outfit seemed to like that was what he best acclimated toward but and I'm really going to try and get something more thorough on him out this week but obviously this weekend there's several that we'll be talking about but he did I know he did some training in Canada and it was just it was once a grapplers anonymous opened just near Buffalo that that's where he started training and that's where Brandon thirst and was an instructor and where that whole Buffalo crew came out of the world. He came out of and you know he was certainly a big big part of that scene and just started going on the Indies in 2015 and he noted how you know a lot of these places they would book him as it's the guy from every time I die and he would sort of find himself

7:19pigeonholed into this role where you know the heel will come out mock him mock the famous musician and then takes a choke slam or something but he he wanted to do this like he did not want to just be a novelty booking at a local Indie and you know it was his you know best friend in the business long time tag partner the blade that you know pepper parks Braxton Sutter many names that he has gone by that kind of got him into the mindset that will then you have to just you got a work like a wrestler you've got to you know change your attire like to you know present yourself as a wrestler and it was here in Toronto that he got a lot of bookings through smash wrestling so he was a regular up here quite a bit he was on that very first spring break card that Joey Janella a book in 2017 in Orlando where he teamed with Penelope Ford against pepper parks and alley and then starts teaming with parks later that year and that's certainly the connection most people will draw from and we didn't mention it but this was a tag match here with with pepper parks with the blade against a team known as TME on the show on Saturday night and then they they weren't with AW right at the beginning but they come in in December of 2019 and they immediately wrestle Cody and QT Marshall and the first couple of weeks they're just on

8:48a per appearance deal and then they did this trell's match in January 2020 this is when the pandemic has started and they've sorry this is before the pandemic has begun this is January 2020 and they did a trell's match and it ended up being Diamond Dallas pages last match ever and it was after that match that they got their their contract and they were going to end up in a pretty good spot regardless because R.O.H. was after them as well at the end of 2019 there was an idea of the two of them with Tyler Bateman coming in and they would have been like the trell's champions in R.O.H. and this is pre-Toni con R.O.H. so it like they were going to get to the next level but it turned out to be AEW which for the long term worked out better they you know he was involved in you know they they had several noteworthy matches in their time they were never a heavily pushed team they were never near the top of the division but they had you know this big eight man tag that they had with the lucha brothers against FTR and the young bucks that got four and three quarter stars they did this falls count anywhere match with the young bucks that I certainly recall as like the one of their best outings he got a singles match with John Moxley for the title in September of 2020 had a noteworthy match with Darby Allen for the TNT title faced Menor Suzuki in 2024 so a lot of interesting matches that he was put in but you know this was certainly a team that I think they were the victim of numbers and

10:18especially early in AEW when you had your bucks and you had Santana Ortiz and the lucha brothers like it was already like a fairly deep tag division but it I think like looking at this guy that you know he's like 42 I think when he gets that full time contract with AEW here's a guy that came from a whole other industry like I don't think that story was ever really told in AEW and it was like quite the transition that he made on top of the fact that he was you know had age working against him in this industry as well he did suffer some injuries along the way I think he tore both his biceps along the way and had not wrestled in AEW since February of last year and I believe that their deals had expired in the last couple of months that's my understanding but you know it's just I honestly believe like we can go over all of these matches or where he worked in this I think this guy's legacy you can just go on any social media today that is going to be this guy's legacy for a lot of people of just I I just think it's these tributes that he has received today like to leave an impact on so many people I just found it remarkable today to read so much from so many and like privately what I heard from people as well.

11:44Yeah this is certainly I would expect like this will be a notable part of Wednesday show which was already going to be you know the big show for for rebel on Wednesday and I would certainly imagine that attribute for Andy Williams is going to be heavily incorporated on Wednesday. You think so as well yeah um awful news it's awful whenever somebody dies but whenever somebody dies young and and this active in the business doing you know what he really loved it's it really shakes the entire industry and um especially sucks if the person was really loved you know by everybody um prior to their death I yeah I'm very curious to see what the show is like on Wednesday um I don't think it'll be a very easy watch you know um considering everything that that it will it will be but I mean we know AW has been able to do some really touching tributes um in the past and I am very curious to see you know just what sort of things we might hear from the roster who would know him very personally you know having shared a locker room within many of them for many years.

12:53Um so it's going to be a tough show I'm sure for everybody putting it together you know it would be nice like depending on like what you do like certainly like some kind of tribute match maybe with like a Daniel Garcia involved or or or something like that um who knows what they will do but I would I would imagine it's going to be a big focus on Wednesday. Um it's an evolving story I'm sure we will have more um on this because this only happened 24 hours ago but uh uh hopefully we were able to give a bit of a career rundown and the details that we have been able to gather so far in um the past 24 hours as well. So we're going to move on because there were um two other passings that I wanted to talk about as well Bill Dundee and Jerry Oats as well so Bill Dundee uh major name in professional wrestling uh history he was uh he was born William Crook Shanks and he would legally change his name to Bill Dundee that's uh that's that's uh I think I think he went this was Bill Dundee if you've ever read this man's book or just I've ever seen this man's car.

14:01That he would drive around town with that plugged his website with his like like like this guy was a this guy was a wrestler's wrestler uh to say the least okay he was uh quite the character he was originally from Scotland grew up in uh in Australia and then would come over when he was wrestling um he ended up coming over he was uh you know obviously the territories that are going to be most associated with Bill Dundee. And the number one Memphis uh mid south where he had an 18 month period where he was booking uh at least working underneath Bill Watts that was the most lucrative of mid south is tenure but he he wrestled in central states uh in Florida where he teamed with Jimmy Garvin he had his whole WCW run where not only was he an on screen manager as Sir William but he also was involved in on the booking committee as well and he was generally regarded as a member of the

15:01community as like a really smart guy like one of the one one of the better bookers um that you know came out of the territorial era he certainly size was not his like he was he was billed at five foot seven um but was shorter than that he was probably around 200 pounds and you know it's started in Australia he worked for the Australian version of world championship wrestling and it's like a really good thing to do is to get the best of the world that he came over to the US he was teaming with a wrestler by the name of George Barnes and they had teamed in Australia together made the leap to the US and then eventually George Barnes just got tired of being in the US wanted to go home and Dundee was he was not interested in going back to Australia and he stayed here and you know the spent the rest of his life here and you know his his career it's it's a very storied one he would do a big babyface turn in 1970 was a big one and it led to this this big grudge program where he was teaming with Eddie Marlin in in Memphis against the interns and then it's in 75 as well in late the late 75 that he has his first major angle with Jerry Lawler who was his most famous rival that this rivalry would last for decades in in Memphis and they would have all of these classic angles together

16:26and then they would have a very famous one where the one week he loses to Lawler and loses his hair the next week they come back this is in September of 70 70 loses his hair to Lawler then the next week he puts his wife Beverly's hair on the line and everyone is thinking okay well this time Bill Dundee is going to get his win back there's no way his wife is going to get her head shaped well she did she lost and the first week this is you know in the paper they reported that they did like over 10,000 people it was a bit less than that as we actually do have the the Tennessee commission records way always some some great light summer reading is the Tennessee commission records of the late 70s as well so yeah his wife Beverly lost her hair and for this big angle she got a whole 3000 dollars fair pay off in 1977 to to get your head shaved how much would Chelsea Green have gotten if she had shaved her head with Nikki Bella like she proposed.

17:30More than three grand I hope she would have she would have been happy to do it for nothing. Yeah maybe they talk Chelsea like you don't need money because this is a moment this is a WrestleMania moment you can't put a price on moments so that was certainly very very famous at the time in 79 Lawler like Lawler and Dundee they would have their periods where they were together where they were arrived rivals and professionally to like they they had quite a rivalry between them but they they had the famous two below concession stand brawl against the blonde bombers of a Wayne Ferris and Larry lay thumb in 1983 he ends up losing a loser leaves town match with with Lawler and the booking stint with mid south begins in early 1984 and this was very significant where Jerry Jarrett had been brought to Bill Watts to observe his shows and Watts was like well like what am I missing and Jerry Jarrett's response was will use the politically correct term that they were they were not satisfying the female audience enough with some of the performers that they had so it resulted in basically the two sides doing a trade and mid south out of this got they got the rock and roll express they got the midnight express build on D was throwing the

18:49down the road and here as well and they also got Terry Taylor among them and in you know build on the gets a lot of credit for this this booking period where I mean the junkyard dog is still here the last ampied angle happens where Bill Watts comes out of retirement to team with junkyard dog against the midnight and Bill Watts makes a very clear in his book that you know this guy he was very talented as a booker but let me make it clear I was the last word so Bill Watts was always making sure that he would also receive the credit here but you know Dundee just took a lot of what he learned in Memphis and applied it to mid south and a part of the country that had not seen a lot of these different angles and it was a super lucrative time for mid south and it's it's about 18 months and then Dundee goes back to Memphis he would reengage in his program with with Lawler he finally beats Lawler in December of 85 and you know they they would come up with these ideas to have like Lawler go away but inevitably

19:49like the crowds would go down and Lawler would have to come back but they redid the same angle where Dundee put his hair on the line then his his wife put her hair on the line again and they did like sell out business with this as well so as they continued they you know they would continue to feud as we mentioned he would as as the 80s turned into the 90s he would have his run in WCW of course with the USWA he was a fixture there as well he wrestled as late as just a couple of years ago in 2019 on a Bobby Eaton tribute show and he ended up being the the father-in-law of Bill Dundee or sorry of Bobby Eaton so they became in laws as well and you know in recent years his son Jamie Dundee had revealed that his dad had had dementia and he had just done an appearance a couple of weeks ago where he was seen this was at this ceremony for Jerry Lawler so they they had one last public appearance together and then yes he he died over the weekend with his son Jamie putting out the announcement that his his father had passed away way more that you could get into with a Bill Dundee but did want to just touch on some of the highlights there you know he had a very very

21:17storied career when it comes to both booking and certainly within within Memphis but many other places as well that he touched upon and the last one here is Jerry Oats who I don't know if everyone may be as familiar with with Jerry Oats but he was he died on Saturday it was actually a day before his 79 birthday that he died his family put out the statement that it is with heavy hearts that the family of Jerry Oats announces his passing he was born in Columbus Georgia he lived a full and impactful life marked by his passion for pro wrestling fitness and service to his community from 1970 to 2010 he enjoyed a distinguished career as a pro wrestler he owned and operated the Oats gym a cornerstone of the Columbus fitness community for more than two decades he also promoted bodybuilding and wrestling events and later served as a deputy with the TIEB Island Police Department and the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office Jerry touched countless lives through his strength generosity and enduring spirit he had started wrestling in 1970 he was trained by his brother-in-law Dick Steinborn and some of the places he went to

22:22included Florida Georgia Central States St. Louis and then he would go to Japan for the first time in 1972 for the IWE group and then later he had a much more regular run with all Japan pro wrestling several years into its existence and he went to all Japan in 1976 and he wrestled a very young jumbo Saruda giant Boba Cantaro Oki he became his Central States Champion in February of 75 defeating a Ed Wyskowski Colonel the Beers and then his brother Ted Oats also became a wrestler and the two team together in Georgia where they won the tag belts and they won the all Asian tag titles in all Japan in 1976 the two went to mid-Atlantic as well he would form a team with Jesse Ventura when he wrestled in Portland with Ronnie Garvin in Georgia but maybe one of the most impactful stories he is connected to is that he ended up with a like minority shares in Georgia

23:24championship wrestling and when Jack and Jerry Briscoe were doing their deal with Vince McMahon where they went behind Oli Anderson and met up with Vince McMahon they were a like Vince only wanted Georgia championship wrestling if he could have control of the territory and as well the the the time slots on on WTCG on what would be TBS and you know Jerry Oats the minority shareholder and he ended up going along with Jack and Jerry and Vince would end up getting 67.5% in the deal and this led to the Black Saturday event in July of 1984 where Oli Anderson was totally blindsided by this he thought that he would be protected because if if a deal were to go down it was stated that it would need the approval of everybody but this did not hold up in court Oli lost the promotion and Vince got Georgia championship wrestling and he got on to TBS and this is the year that he is on Turner's stations

24:28but you know Jerry Oats was part of that and he aligned himself with with the bruscoes and and Paul Jones as well in selling their stock in 1984 so we have more on the site Neil Flanagan did a great job on a write-ups on all three of these as well we might have some more later this week to dive into some of their careers and such but I do recommend everyone go check out. Neil's writing up on the site but a very sad weekend in professional wrestling. 25:34versions of rewind a raw dynamite and Smackdown join now at post wrestling cafe.com and now we will move on to Sunday nights main event at the state farm arena in Atlanta, Georgia way we had a wrestle tics number of 11,429 almost on par with what they did their last time here which was February of 2025 for an episode of raw that had a number of 11,786 and I will say it's I do feel like Atlanta has become a really big market for WWE on several fronts like yes you have Cody and you know Braun Breaker is from the state certainly you have the ties to you know collegiate football but they have really like connected themselves to the entire like rap scene in Atlanta and I do feel like that the byproduct is I think you had you had this incredible crowd tonight and it is like they have really cultivated Atlanta as like a big stop when WWE does come to town.

26:41Mm-hmm yeah certainly I mean you know wrestling of course Atlanta has an incredible history with and it only makes sense that with as many rappers and as much as like you know hip-hop cultures seems to have embraced in part professional wrestling that they would do as much as they can to involve the celebrities that want to be involved in this particular show. So yeah it all is sensible and it's all proven to be quite effective I would say. Is it time for a follow-up to WWE aggression? Is it is it time way for the next wave of it? Maybe it would simply be a a Spotify playlist that is released today rather than a compact disc but they could have the roster for it. They could yeah. So our announcers tonight are Michael Cole and Wade Barrett about an hour into this show when I was all caught up I suddenly realized I had no idea there was

27:44a countdown show for this and they put a match on the countdown show so rather than watch live I did go back for this Dominic Mysterio Joe Henry match and what a match it was. Judgment Day is in Dominic's corner and Henry did a stalling vertical great crowd reaction as was consistent throughout most of this show live would block Henry on the floor and so Henry just takes it out on JD striking him but this gives Dom the advantage. Michael Cole says how Dominic can ill afford a loss one week before Triple Mania. Yes what would a loss do to Triple Mania on this pre show? And Henry does his followaway slam goes for the hit single but it's missed and then after blocking a tornado DDT he hits the hit single but only gets a two count live the Stratz and then Henry boots JD off the apron but this opens the door for Dom to hit a 619 frog splash and pretty much beat Joe Henry clean here like yes JD like had a temporary distraction on the apron button this was a fairly

28:47clean win for Dominic and live just cut a promo afterwards got a ton of heat for this as she teed up the match with Stephanie Bacare tomorrow night on raw seems fine for a warm up. Sure right that's about it that's all that's all this was and the crowd they were warmed up they were they were ready to go but the big news way at the end of this countdown show Jackie Redmond tells us that Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes have been instructed to remain on their respective buses up until match time they are not to leave their buses. Okay they're under bus arrest. Yeah sir means this is a shoot they're not going over their match there's nothing planned out this is this is legit okay. Sure okay and then we go into the show proper with the opening video with Cuevos backwards. Yeah they made a big deal out of this they did live performance. Yes and then during our arrivals we get a I don't know if you noticed this way but um Arby's

29:55really popular among the vision and if you weren't aware Maxine walked in with a with a shirt that read hot girls eat Arby's while she's eating out of a cup of what appeared to be Arby's ice cream. No no no it was steak nuggets you had asked specifically mention did they okay because I was thinking I was like do they do they offer ice cream at Arby's I'm glad you got the clarification here I don't think I've ever gone to an Arby's in my life. Yeah a theory is also wearing an Arby shirt although of course. Of course. This is Christ. Yeah um I would say this has gone too far but clearly they they wait this is only this is only like a six on the uh too much scale this is like what what more could you ask for here? I'm just I'm just trying to imagine like the marketing department that is either offering these deals to these brands or like what sort of collaborative collaboration discussions are are taking place between the WWE and these brilliant you know marketing executives that are trying to integrate themselves and their products into this

31:00thing right um and they've all been terrible ideas you know the mug group you're one I I mean one of the worst but this isn't that far off like this seems to be maybe the least offensive way they can inject product placement into the show um and I wonder if they pay more to have wrestlers like shield their shitty food than like a commentator for instance um yeah like you you know it's corny it's campy and I don't think anybody would like bad and I at it because it's just professional wrestling it's low brow bullshit anyway um but boys it is a cheap and does it make the show look cheap? Remember when there was all the uh the groaning when they put the slim gym ads onto the actual tables and by comparison like not not to say that I'm uh necessarily uh just it's nothing but like that's way lower on uh to me on on the WWE scale when it comes to

32:01promotional tions yeah well we can take a sticker on a table it's all stuff we get used to you know and just just like you you get used to it in other sports um I'd rather that especially like if now that they don't want to mention the slim gym tables and just like show them then to have like Austin theory here said something about like he actually had to say the words are be staked nuggets in whatever promo he used cutting on the line it's like tender and juicy or something in there as well I don't know I did I did not write down the specific for the H well anyway that was his role on the show quavo comes out with a shopping cart full of money maybe that's the answer to the RVs okay that that's just shut up okay this is what they use as a shopping cart of money and we do whatever they want yeah I you know so so again they made a big deal out of this and they don't typically promote like you know what artists like performing songs nor in this case performing an unreleased track off of an upcoming album so this kind of worked as some or at least like this seemed to be some attempt at like a listening party of sorts you know

33:04like as an exclusive you know only a WWE will have the exclusive of the new this new track off of this quavo album and I'm just trying to in my head wonder who's paying whom here you know are is the record label paying WWE to have this exposure or there's no way WWE's paying them is this like going on the tonight show where it's just like it's it's mutually beneficial I could yeah could be that you know um otherwise like I don't see WWE paying money to have quavo perform on them because I don't really I don't know if he's adding much maybe he is maybe maybe that's what's happening hey but this wasn't exactly a performance either it was do you think WWE it's like this is on NBC right yeah yeah yeah it's like kind of this seemed to be build as some sort of like yeah like look this this graphic says performing an unreleased track off of his new upcoming album and like he walked out and he performed for 60 seconds might be generous yeah like I did we even get to like the hook here like with with this even be you got you got a bicrome life for the hook got it okay so

34:07this is a tease is a tease on the one hand you know I was wondering how offensive this would be to a wrestling audience because these things typically are offensive you know like music is is very divisive and you're never going to find one artist that like suits the taste of everybody in attendance um and they typically just like interrupt a show and feel like they are you know a break rather than something that you look forward to I think they were maybe conscious of that because they kept this incredibly brief um brief so brief to the point that if you went to see equable performance I think you'd feel like definitely short change you got 60 seconds of it um and this shopping cart of money I'm just wondering who it's going to maybe maybe TKO you know maybe it's it made it's record label paying Marche Perro here for this space to advertise their show the this album coming up I mean in the end it was so brief it felt like a continuation of the opening which is I think the best place for something like this rather than interrupting in the middle of the show that you know no wrestling fan I think could really complain about it it didn't

35:11really hit the floor of anything um but it also was not very substantial in my opinion. Jared experiences communal get the phone going yeah yeah I would say like if you were worried about like oh this concert's going to really break up the flow that that certainly was not the case so I yeah for for those that thought hey I'm gonna go see Kuevo tonight at the state farm arena you might have been a little let down but nonetheless um outcomes Lil Yachty would you review the song did you I haven't heard the full song I can get that's like an incomplete review of the first like 30 seconds of it it was no C murder yeah let's hold on no yeah so we we uh we go to the back and trick is with Lil Yachty and they come out Lil Yachty is joined by the concrete boys I didn't know we were getting the concrete boys a bonus yeah yeah you can say a dream achieved

36:12of yours I think I I love the concrete boys Wade Barrett says there is no one that does hype and there's no one with drip like Yachty but this is different what do you think about Yachty's drip his drip what about Baron's drip in comparison uh Baron's trip um I don't you know I don't know not not as moist uh who would who would his rap bit more be on WWE aggression too Baron Corbin's rapper um I don't know um somebody who uh maybe they bring back Uncle Cracker for Baron Corbin for okay for modern fans so Corbin gives Yachty the offer to back out but instead Yachty nails him with the microphone and he immediately gets a two count and Corbin bails to the floor and we've just got the five minute timer for Yachty to eat up and he is yanked to the floor dude this crowd

37:20was so loud you can say whenever you want about Lil Yachty what was he the smoothest wrestler no one was tuning in to see the smoothest wrestler here but my god would this guy popular on this show they were going nuts in this match and Corbin this was like the easiest night of Corbin's career because they hated this man with the the most minimal of heel tactics like they just had this crowd in the palm of their hand and I I think this actually worked being on first like you had no expectations for this and they were they were benefited by a a rabid 11000 plus fans that again you have Yachty here in his hometown and I think that really worked on this show was having the Atlanta or Atlanta adjacent figures on the on the show yeah 100% up and down this card you you had that right whether it be Jade or Cody or Braun Breaker or in this case Yachty I mean or all of TLC who were here or all of TLC sure yeah I wasn't expecting a TLC performance either

38:22and I got it you did and it was a bit more substantial than the quavil one yeah um are we getting to our final thoughts on the match um just I mean Corbin did get cut here right by the ear that just looked to be uh and noticeably again maybe just a tell of you know what was the cum later on like it wasn't like they were scrambling to wipe it off you know so I was and it ended up being like like this one obviously he just got cut here somehow but it was like the exact story of like Orton would like be cut by the ear specifically which is like an interesting place for uh you know but this seemed to be just happy accident that he just got cut here right by the ear so uh Yachty hits him with a kendo stick and this chant of Yachty is so loud and Corbin takes out two of the concrete boys with a deep six and an end of days um I don't know if like the the concrete boys are like the like they were part of the entourage

39:27they didn't identify these two I imagine these actual rappers these two were like you know were these the uh QT's concrete boys uh could from the school yeah look it might have been Yachty hits a rana um smooth it was not uh but didn't matter crowd went nuts here he was caught by the end of days but instead of going for the pin Corbin continues to beat on him it's a second end of days and it there's like 30 seconds left so Corbin's like let's get the slim gym table out and so he takes it out and he's going for a superplex so we're really cutting it close here Baron and he gets low blowed as Yachty avoids the superplex time expires you would have thought Yachty just won the title at WrestleMania he celebrated like this was the greatest achievement probably wise I'm sure this man was frightened about these five minutes and just just let them uh go go smoothly and then Corbin chokes slammed them through a table um I mean to me the crowd was the story here and this really worked for the the live crowd yeah I thought like just like the quiver

40:33opener if you had any sort of concerns about it it ended up being not just to me completely inoffensive but I actually thought a very successful like throwback type of match involving a manager getting in the ring you know out of his element attempting to survive an actual professional wrestler and this crowd completely aided up they saw it as as a spectacle reacted loudly to all of Yachty's comebacks and um I thought like by the end they provided a logical reason for Yachty surviving the five minutes is because I mean Baron wanted to you know like do as much damage to him within the a lot of time as possible and then of course you know um it got away from him I thought having the bit of blood on Corbin like certainly helped you know tell the story of um like the guy getting angry you know and thinking that realizing that this was a little bit tougher than he expected it to be and ultimately it worked out as a really strong prelude to trick versus Corbin because by the time that match occurred this match this crowd was already really really hard for it so yeah trick comes out gets his immediate title shot and he gets

41:39posted early on and it's Corbin knocking him off the apron into the desk and then runs him into the steps my favorite part of this call on this night is uh Corbin starts dropping elbows and Wade calls it his jujitsu styleings noting these good ridge style elbows I missed Gary good ridge day in jujitsu training yeah where we learned downward elbows um like is there a famous Gary Goodridge yeah there is right or he'd like knocks a dude out oh like Gary Goodridge style but he's talking about MMA not jujitsu well he specifically said jujitsu the jujitsu styleings with those good ridge style elbows he could have just gone away with good ridge elbows like everyone remembers UFC eight um but I don't know if everybody remembers UFC eight but um I guess yeah the reference the reference was was there but I guess not not exactly jujitsu not quite um although we don't

42:42know what what Corbin maybe it's like he's been doing underground stuff and it's just maybe he's maybe really the valley to toe and he has an informed weight of the the differences yet so there's a reverse neck breaker by trick um they got into some near falls here trick hit a book end and then took the deep six and Corbin grabs the title belt but then Yachti who's I guess been just selling ringside appears and we have a tug of war for the belt Corbin grabs the belt and turns into a trick kick for a big near fall and the ref starts dealing with Yachti Corbin hits trick with the belt just like summer slam but this time trick kicks out and they've got the crowd end of days gets countered and he hits the trick shot and trick regains the belt major pop at the end of this and I will say like this was I mean you would probably have a different reaction to these matches if you were watching them on mute but you don't watch wrestling on mute and this crowd was so rabid and I really thought Corbin was pretty great in both of these matches like I think he really just understood what the role was and it was you know basically carrying Yachti

43:47for five minutes and then you know being the heel for trick to overcome here and you get the big celebratory pop for trick Williams and he gets the belt back my question would be that after this like I like sure you could have a role for Baron Corbin but it just does not feel as though it's a necessary one on a show that we are constantly talking about like how many bodies there are that they are constantly with that this kind of felt like this should have just been a short term thing and I don't know if that's going to be the case. So I agree I thought like I thought all of this was actually great the crowd ate up every moment here and I think from the moment the whole booking of Baron Corbin from summer slam onwards came to you know B really felt like Corbin was specifically hired for this role meaning to take the title off of trick to set up a trick Williams like title win in Atlanta so that they could do well this whole yachty thing and on this night it went really well Corbin pulled it off really well he to me was like

44:52really you know off course outside from Yachty and outside of trick but like Corbin was was an integral part of this and I thought he he actually pulled it off like really well but was this whole thing worth trick losing at summer slam on a bigger stage than what this was to somebody like Baron Corbin I still don't think so yes Corbin did a good job but I think they could have found somebody from within their roster that would hopefully you know be built up to be justice compelling and carries a bit more upside than Baron Corbin does because you're you're coming off of this with to me I think some wasted attention and a wasted run albeit as brief as it was that you could have given to somebody currently on the roster that I think could have really used it to to propel themselves forward rather than somebody like Baron Corbin who I don't think has much upside to him you know um beyond this evening so again tonight great reaction to everything here great job from all involved but I just still question the investment of Baron Corbin over the past few months hello hello hello David Portman here from Poison Rarner we cover NXT every Tuesday night on the

49:06and oba gets sent into the post and brawn goes to run off the apron and just gets swatted on the chest and then oba clears the desk but it's brawn leaping off with a clothesline and he takes over for the next easily five minutes and he's he's just taunting oba the future of what the future of what he said this like eight times like almost to the point that was like was is this supposed to be a signal for oba to do something because he like it is literally by the seventh time just screaming it in his face and finally oba hits him with a German I think this is part of their I mean I'm sure in NXT like something I don't know if you learned this from Sean or Triple H but like the Roman Reigns school really like it's it's now the thing is to do is you you got a talk you got to explain you got to like you know have your audio be captured by the mics around the ring to tell the audience exactly what you're you're thinking rather than actually show it with the moves I think I think Randy popularized this first with Kofi. Yeah so oba watching some

50:16of his his his taker videos hit the snake eyes big boot combo and then brawn catches him in the eyes runs around the ring but right into an oba uppercut and then Arby's theory comes out and gets put right through the table there's a spear by brawn on the floor another in the ring oba kicks out now theory just showed up no no pomp and circumstance Logan comes out to his music like what a way to telegraph for oba to prepare and he's got brass knuckles but Logan is the decoy for a vaccine to pass the other brass knuckles to brawn behind the refs back but oba ducks the brass knucks and tosses brawn and then we get the return of a slim down brawnson Reed who attacks with a chair for the DQ and boy he lit the shit out of oba femy with these chair shots holy christ and he would end up hitting him with like four tsunamis basically between the end of the match with

51:18the spear on the floor and in the ring and then post match he would take four spears four tsunamis and much like any time brawnson would do these he got the crowd with him to the point they were chanting one more time by the end of this and Pierce and all the officials are out do brawnson Reed has lost a ton of weight during his time away like he looks closer to like tomatanga here then then he did brawnson Reed beforehand so maybe these four tsunamis equal like one and a half pre diet i mean it does kind of like take the edge off of like you know like a big man splashing right but i do think it's ultimately like great you know to see him in the shape number one probably maybe for personal help number two um i think it shows his dedication perhaps like to wanting to you know like look look different um and to work hard enough that

52:19you know to fit their mold of what they view a top guy to be because unfortunately that's still very much exists you know um they don't really put guys who used to look like him to up to the very very top of the card or at least not not as likely as they may you know somebody who again has like honestly he kind of looks a bit like Seth Rollins he kind of looks like he's just he he's he's he's got a lot of people like you like he looks like we're under a lot of guys that fit this mold and clearly i think they have a preference for what they want their top guys to look like and he you know he he's he's taken the opportunity to show them that he could be that guy um but i do think like it offers like a bit of a fresh coat of paint like anybody who comes back after a long hiatus whether it be like changing your hair or changing like your gear or changing your body like i think it does announce that hey this is the fresh or different you know maybe even in some ways more serious broncin read um and by this point the tsunami i think has been established enough as like a devastating move that it you know he's still heavy he's still a big

53:22guy even though it's you know maybe he might might not weigh the same well watch the the next pay-per-view he's on he's gonna do the 450 tsunami maybe that's available to evolution here i thought yeah like the match itself out here i felt was certainly a lot more substantial and traditional than like rock in in oba um even though the build felt very similar to me but this was a much more sort of back and forth match obviously and it was a lot more prolonged with you know your your your heat sequences and whatnot and overall i found it solid um to me what continues the standard is how like strong oba feme's offense looks and if you're wondering how they would get out of this um i guess i didn't think it would be a straight dq and i don't know why i didn't but like i gave him a bit more credit because i felt like bron should have won this one and i don't think oba would have lost the thing but to just do a dq they probably feel like hey we're giving you like the return of a name you know therefore you're probably not going to be as disappointed i still found it pretty disappointing i i thought it was it like it's it's fine i think most people

54:24assumed this would be continuing but i found it to be a bit of a you know just the way this one was built up um i think they were putting all their stock into well you're getting a return exactly like you said and therefore we don't have to have something really elaborate to lead to adjustable viable dq we're just giving you broncin read and that was that for the match like the match was fine i thought oba gave him a lot in in this match like this was all about putting the heat on the vision coming out of this which is maybe what you need to do because this is probably what oba is going to be doing for the rest of the year is feuding with the vision so the future of WWE remains up in the air and i do look forward to a bron teaming with broncin and maybe we'll get reads a singlet that reads eat kale oh okay maybe that's how i don't think he's eating dog on this new diet um yeah i would hope i would eat greens not as catchy isn't yeah i'm not sure yeah

55:37so we had some more celebrity with in case you missed them we got non-screen with quavo staying around for the show and then the highlight for me tea pain at a WWE show oh you know how great it would have been if they inter if he had a mic and he went to go speak and it was in auto tune that would have that would have stole the show for me i would have given this up on thumbs up if we got a tea pain auto tune promo i thought we'd have more rappers to be honest like they usually have gone all out yeah where was metro boomin some of their favorites he's had enough i guess yeah perhaps imagine Travis Scott showed up for this one guys i'm ready to show in his face um maybe not wouldn't get a comp at this point heyman is watching uh broncens return on the monitor kathy kelly is losing her mind about what has just happened and heyman gets a phone call from an unknown uh individual maybe the same person that made Adam pierce uh apologize earlier this year that we never got a payoff to and heyman just wandered off and we never saw him again

56:40yeah all right what are we teasing here what like some some higher power somebody somebody do you really do you really believe we will ever find out who this phone call was from or any anything related to the scene i don't think many people remember it i barely remember what you're even referring to so don't you remember that the vision they wanted Adam pierce fired and he suspended the vision and then uh he got a phone call from someone up up above and then they did a video with heyman online explaining that it was not paul of ec and we just never got the we never got the angle of like well who was this person that demanded Adam pierce that Adam pierce was worried about that he had to apologize and bring the bring bron breaker and the vision back um the fact you don't even remember it tells me that maybe they are hoping that you'll never care about this stuff well they could be bringing it back clearly this is the tease of something i guess my question is why does paul he even talk into his phone this way

57:45he puts his phone which looks like an iphone speak like mouth towards the the the speaker for the for the ears he's not talking to the mic he's talking to like where you would listen to the phone well we saw this whole interaction he kept this phone here so he was listening with his mouth and he was talking into the head the headphone speaker well as someone that just spent five days in this exact same position way in many different locations with his phone towards his mouth i will tell you that when you are that close and talk into the mic there's a reason he's not talking to the mic you're talking properly i know i'm flipping your phone i'm sorry i know but when you do this uh there can be a lot of over modulation and i did find that if you do this it actually comes out a lot clearer you so you were just you actually did this you did you listen to your phone that way too it's like i subconsciously which is naturally talking to the mic but then

58:50when i would listen back i would realize like i'm talking right into it and it was just it was so it was like overmodulated at point so i would i would turn it or just keep it further back you are having a conversation like this now granted this is not being recorded for the millions of post-recent cafe members unless Paul him and has a secret cafe uh this is just a regular phone call but you are recording voice memos this is a guy having a secret conversation you you would think you would just let this one go to voicemail and re and resume once he was off a screaming platform yeah maybe realize it's not on NBC there can be that many people that are eavesdropping charlotte flare Alexa bliss and tatham taking on uh tlc that's right Atlanta's own tlc including yeah meachin left eye Lopez that's correct yeah and um b-fabest t-bos that kind of well and chilly chilly yes of course um third one i love this as a theme

59:54for them you know they did it in minnesota with with prints and um what you know hopefully they i guess they should only be booked you know in cities with famous musicians because um god help them if they're booked in like i don't know um george town um yeah i mean the this probably can't be transferable to all places um yeah but one possible yeah maybe um i don't know what what the next one could be maybe all saints what are some three female all three member groups that they could uh replicate um uh uh and boke i can't i mean yeah i don't know swv i'm just thinking about like r&b groups so of course wade and michael kohl have to have some painful conversation about tlc wade says his favorite song is creep which is what everyone calls michael kohl michael kohl says his favorite song is don't go chasing waterfalls which is a lyric not the name of the song but close enough

1:00:55and then the match begins bliss goes for sister abigale right away on b-fab but meachin distracts and they get the heat on alexa bliss now alexa maybe this was just some amazing selling and conveying how worn down she was she hit the roughest looking tilt to whirl sending b-fab into the corner i didn't know what this was attempting to resemble but this led to the tag to charlotte flair as she came in and charlotte come on bitch and just boots jade right off of the apron jade comes in and hits derude's own sandstorm jade is full of so i thought the sandstorm was a one winged angel uh now now the one winged angel or sorry now sandstorm is basically like a kind of a variation of a blue i don't yeah maybe they don't want her doing a one winged angel which i can't blame um i'd perhaps yeah i also wouldn't maybe put it past this just being kohl like mixing up the moods potential has she hit it since the one time um i don't i don't recall her hitting it as second time

1:01:59beyond the first but tadeem is in for the save uh jade gets countered by flair with a roll up and then it's flair with a fallaway slam to michin placing her next to jade and hits a moon salt on both and sets up for a double natural disaster or natural disaster with uh Alexa sorry natural selection and blisk it's yank to the floor so she can't complete hers and it's charlotte going for the figure four onto jade tadeem comes in and tadeem and flair go for figure fours at the same time but beef at kicks tadeem right into charlotte leading to jaded and jade pinning charlotte and the idea that uh tadeem screwed up and cost flair the match afterward um i found the match a bit sloppy overall yes um but i did think like charlotte's interactions with jade were were pretty decent and you know it's clearly that's the big match they're building towards and and i i don't have that much sort of like concern about it i think they'll pull or do a perfectly fine job

1:03:01i thought the finish made the faces look dumb certainly but of course it's also their way of driving tension between tadeem and charlotte so i like to me this full is a decent spec now match honestly like i think having the cool outfits um actually made this feel a bit more special than they were like the baby faces to this audience like they were totally like what what what is not to cheer about this it's like i don't know what would be our Toronto equivalent of like these heels coming out i mean um nirvana um i don't think they're directly just like i'm his nirvana yeah i don't know um anyway maybe charlotte cuts a big promo on tadeem saying you know what me and alexa we don't need no scrubs yeah you know what we were missing the promo so yeah testator in the miz are on the desk is this uh mic the body miz turra now i i miss jesse on these shows just before i would i would love to read it jesse talking about uh well maybe if they paid less

1:05:04michelle and uh teal was also there and we it's they explain that kody has left his children at home just dust is dust in watching them or or on the bus who's what it may be they're locked in the bus with uh with the ripads so orton's music begins after kody's already arrived and orton slides into the ring but gets caught by kody and they fight to the floor all before the bell rings and head into the crowd a trash can is used on randy but then as randy gets back ringside he walks up to the family but then returns to the ring the bell rings and he is instantly hit with a kody cutter and placed into the figure four so after he gets to the rope orton is hobbling selling the knee and orton takes over and slows it down to which michael colnotes this is the pace randy likes and i couldn't help but look down and realize we have it we had 20 minutes left and i was like they're going to use every minute of these 20 and they will you know they certainly would yeah and i know like um like it's i think a lot of people were happy to see brandy orn back as a

1:06:08heel um i for the most part am except for these few like i want to say like five minutes you know in these randy orton matches where i mean randy orton working as he a heel you know it's going to consist of just i mean it was way worse when they were just like you know exclusively doing chin locks in every single match now at least you don't have that in every match but this was just a slow so he takes some of the floor drops kody on the desk and then he has words with brandy and brandy tosses him a shot of brandy she throws her drink onto randy weighed calls for brandy to be ejected could be justified i mean randy didn't lay a hand on her can't be he can't be throwing drinks on talent i guess they they give special permission for yeah relatives is that it this was brandy's uh response to i guess being called uh trashy by randy orton and this was the extent of the the family i thought they were going to do some big angle here but this was that

1:07:09i mean what what more could you do than toss a drink and oh bump easy brandy takes a draping DDT oh wow off of the barricade planning maybe that's maybe michelle maybe michelle yeah so there's a draping DDT to kody and this is where we kind of got into the bizarre old world with the announcers because Wade is noting the cacophony of booze which uh i'm not going to say my hearing is perfect um but this seems like a very energetic randy crowd in Atlanta certainly towards um later portions of this match yeah absolutely so then we have kody running into the corner missing randy and taking out charles robinson who is gonna have a rough night as he is uh out um and would be over a long time randy hits an rko but we have no ref so he sets up for the punt but this time kody sidesteps and hits the crossroads orton rolls out to the floor and so kody goes for a suicide time and san would just charles robinson against the barricade so now charles is just

1:08:15gone forever he's been hit man down for the second time and kody runs orton into the post and michael kohl asks can kody go to that dark place it's like oh my god buckle up folks it's time to tell some stories and he looks at his family and then he uses the steel steps and michael kohl yells this is for brandy this is for michelle and randy starts bleeding from the ear blood that has been conjured by the eyes of michelle because this is for brandy and this is for michelle as kody has gone to that dark place and he hits a kody cutter from the top two crossroads and what happens randy randy they're all chanting for randy the cacophony of boozeway it's getting deafening and now kody backs up into the corner for a punt of his own and he goes to wind up but

1:09:19randy says no no please kody i love you and kody's like oh really man i'm so sorry i don't know what to do look confused nailed it look at gyle here just jumping through my screen ripping at my heartstrings what am i supposed to do and now backup referee eddie arango enters and when you know it but i told you i was a snake and randy low blows not just kody he manages he hits four testicles here with one forearm he certainly does yeah that's right the low blow four for four and down goes kody rko charles robinson boom he's just shot back to life and counts three big pop here for randy orton getting the win and my favorite they just cut to randy's or sorry to kody's family we're like god damn it kody and uh and that was the match now all of that said i will admit sometimes my

1:10:21tone is a little i lay it on a little thick okay but as you give give us your unvarnished uh to me some of this was a lot um to take but be the voice of reason i i i certainly wouldn't argue if you felt it was a lot i'm but i'm expecting a lot you know for this type of match and these two you know who are just like sort of like tried and true wwe style like main event wrestlers so i was expecting a lot of this sort of storytelling and i i i as usual i think listen to the crowd to see how effective it was and i i felt it was you know outside of maybe like orton getting the cheers but even that i don't think was so bad because you're telling the story of kody getting to dark side right and therefore a little bit of booing i feel like is it's somewhat you can explain it you can explain that it's it's not something that's so disruptive in fact it's it's a it's a sign that kody maybe step too far right um i thought it was good overall like they they you know starting in

1:11:24the crowd adding some variety to what you know ultimately was a long match by w w e standards um i found art and slowing the pace down still largely uninteresting but it did result in this crowd like somehow afterwards give me this is awesome chant once kody started to pick things back up so again like didn't necessarily work for me but it worked for them i was wondering how they would do the crisis of judgment moment and what variation on the staring at the belt they would use and i did not consider that they would do it using the punt which i actually found like again very cliche as you brilliantly recap john but i did find using the punt as that moment of like showing you know him flirting with the dark side to be effective and again it's better than you know grabbing a championship belt and and thinking about whether or not he'd be doing it blood was something i was wondering if they would do here because this of course is a show that is not on Netflix and so i i feel like through this through like you know again like the lack of urgency in

1:12:25cleaning up the barren corbin like blood earlier in the night here like i mean using it as an actual story telling the device i mean it does just really confirm that it's not a wwe thing but but a Netflix thing you know like we're contrasting this to this past monday where they blurt out a pre-taped scene of a guy with blood on his face right here they're intentionally using it to tell the story of a match i thought i was watching cops not opening scene where they had the blur the faces out i mean that's ridiculous so it does like now offer at least something that feels a little bit more special about the selling point of saturday nights made up rappers and you get blood okay guys coming up that gauin returns on saturday nights made event and we're letting him gig in front of his mother i think john moxley will be on the next uh sunday nights made event perhaps so i found that like to be an interesting part of this and of course i blood was i think very necessary for this match and telling like the story of kody like reaching going too far i'll say though beyond like the blood i i didn't i didn't buy that much of kody like hitting your next gear

1:13:29like i the the the point was good the blood was good but everything else i they're very handy cap here with what they're able to use and i don't think kody to me like did enough prior to this moment to sell me that he was like unhinge you know there's just too safe of a style for for to convey that i think yeah i i i feel kody could be a i already think kody's a fantastic baby face and i'm sure if you wanted to he could be a great heal but the the in between kody um i'm not as down on and that's what the the character is in at at the moment and i think most are looking at this as probably turning this around for some kind of stipulation at money in the bank whether it be last man standing a cage something of that sort for next month's pay per view agreed yeah i could like something something like like that i mean you know i guess like hell in a cell is no longer a thing but like i wouldn't see it at money in the bank you know which is already a stipulation

1:14:32event anyway nor like would it be war games what what we got between wrestle paloza right is between that wrestle paloza isn't December the summer or December okay so nothing between money in the bank and um uh survivor there's no there's um the Saudi Arabia show is in between that's oh yeah money in the bank is in a month the following November 7th is Saudi Arabia and survivor series is a very quick turnaround like two two weeks after Saudi Arabia okay so i do think there is like you you might you know open the path towards a hell in a cell match seeing it's the end of a trilogy they have introduced the element of blood but what would we get blood for that particular match i guess not not necessarily if it's going to be on Netflix right i mean there is the natural like if you do a last man standing match um Cody finally hitting the punt kick to win the match like that is that's a very logical finish to end this program and sending Cody to whatever story you want to

1:15:37take him to that like like now it's it's kind of funny it's what the the AEW heel turn where he said he will never use the pedigree remember that and now it's like he said that i'd destroy him remember he said if he uses the pedigree wouldn't am i getting this wrong that that would signal him turning if he used the pedigree oh yeah so now but what are the puns that signals the heel turn he has made if i do this move that means i have turned i will not use the pedigree or else you will know that i've turned heel that is like a classic like over the top bad Cody idea that i feel like we got a lot of towards the end of the at that AEW run i mean i think this guy has so sanitized like the bad of AEW that he was really waiting in like there was a discussion a very prominent one of like what Cody in WWE like would this like certainly now it sounds irrealistically within several months it was ridiculous because he fits so well but like there were many questions of like the audience

1:16:42turning on this guy after the honeymoon period and like he was really all over the place those last few months in AEW and it was really like fighting the fans or at least not in his mind fighting the fans but that's what he was doing and like that's openly what you're recording now of like where where you go with this character and and how it shapes up so do you think it's at all perhaps a concern that audiences will now favor Randy like do you think that's something they have to like war Carter to turn Randy over to you know somebody that the crowd will definitely boo over Cody I think Randy's been a babyface to a lot of these fans this whole time like I think even like the turn at mania and such like he's positioned as the heel but I think a lot of fans they just they they already like cheering Randy Orton and I think that's that's only going to continue after this and maybe it turns out great for for Cody but it's I don't think it's without risk when you have

1:17:43like this this babyface that they're they're kind of pushing towards this it's not the case where I feel this this fan base is just all tired of Cody Rhodes it is you know Randy's popular to this crowd and I feel like they're pushing Cody more towards this this tweener role that you know maybe just audiences pick up on this and they're they're going to continue to ride this and that will force the hard turn by Cody yeah I'm kind of curious what to do because on the one hand I feel like people are sick of Cody because like he he's been he's he's not really showing any sort of evolution character and I think like the boy scoutness of him is starting to feel a little bit you know boring honestly and so like I get the idea for this type of story and this sort of like slight character shift in wanting to show a little bit of edge some moments you know throughout their promo battles I bet I think offered like a strong glimpses into what like a harder edge you know American nightmare Cody Rhodes could could offer but I also don't think they'll ever go that far with it because they recognize this is the guy we still have the pivot to you know come

1:18:44WrestleMania season as are like lead baby face right he's going he's he's John Cena like he's never going to turn while he's still the active ace right of the company and so I do think there are just limits about how much they could really change him because I think they'll always have to revert back to like boy scout boat Cody Rhodes at some point um so I am kind of curious you know like throughout between now and WrestleMania season what what they will do to make him interesting but not go so far you know how about he he's goes through his hall cogan F you new blood era run dies his hair black maybe some leather dies it black again you mean goes back again yeah that'll be the big change the hair he's going to do the punt the pedigree and the hair the trifecta would be something and right at the end of the show as they went off the air they did put up a graphic for bill dundee at the end of the show right yes they did um I

1:19:44did like I get it makes me wonder how they determine like who gets these and and who doesn't I don't think anyone was expecting that they were going to acknowledge Andy Williams the only thing I thought was if any of the wrestlers maybe would wear like an arm band or something or I can almost I would almost be I would be very confident that of Cory Graves was on commentary he would have at least worked in some kind of reference to Andy Williams um but unless I miss something like I didn't catch like any like subtle references or anything and certainly no mention um it's well done he did work for the promotion um I mean not really like he's not really someone you associate with WWE in any form um you know he's you know a historical figure um listen there WWE has their ways of like what they're going to
