Carrie, welcome to the From the Shadows podcast. How you doing? I'm doing great Shane. How are you doing? You know, we've already discussed how tired I am. We're recording this the day after the day after Labor Day and it's a long day at the post office. But I'm sure everybody out there who got the day off suffered for it.

3:12The day going to work and picking up the slack from a day off. So, but so Carrie, I want you, you have a great story from Ohio. I want you to kind of set the stage and tell everybody what has been happening to you over there on the northeastern part of the state. All right. Well, thank you. First of all, thank you for having me on here and thanks for listening to my story. Our story begins March of 2010. And that's when we started having some peculiar, peculiar happenings around the house. My son noticed it first. He was a college student. So he would, he would work during the day and come home and then go to classes. So a lot of times he was coming home late at night and staying up late and studying. So he was upstairs in his room and one day he came down.

4:13I was still up and he told me that he heard something in the tree line. The way our house is, we're fairly rural where we're at. But you can see our neighbor's houses, but there's, you know, brush and trees in between. So we do have a lot of forests around us and everything. So he was talking about how he felt like something was watching him. And something was making a lot of noise and stuff. And so I, we both went outside and we were looking around. We didn't see anything. And I, I was just like, well, maybe it was just like a dog or a raccoon or, you know, a wild, you know, a known wild animal around us. And he was like, I don't think so because I, I feel like it's watching me. So this went on probably for a couple of weeks. And then the next thing I remember noticing were all of the lost pet signs that were everywhere. And I'm not just talking about one or two.

5:15I'm talking about dozens of lost pet signs everywhere. They were on, you know, at the gas stations, they were on the telephone poles. They were everywhere. And a lot of times there were multiple ones on the telephone poles by us. So I saw this one in particular and it was a bulldog. And my dad had it had a bulldog. So that one kind of hit me like, you know, usually bulldogs don't go very far. You know, they're not the kind of dogs that stray off. So I thought that was kind of weird. So probably about two or three days after seeing that, it was still in my mind. And I was getting up, usually I get up about four o'clock because I, I have to go to work pretty early. And I heard this noise outside. And then noise outside the only way I can kind of describe it was that it sounded like a goose. And it was honking like a goose. And we have geese on our property. So I thought we were raising geese at the time.

6:15I thought maybe one of our geese had, you know, fallen prey to something. So I ran outside and I had my flashlight and went over to the coop and all of the geese were inside. And they were fine. They weren't making noises. And then I heard the noise again. And it was up towards the back of our property. We have like a slight hill. And it didn't sound like a goose anymore. It sounded like a puppy, like a puppy whimpering. So my two dogs were outside and I did look behind me and I noticed that they hadn't gone past the door. They were standing by the door. And so I was walking. It's probably about 50 feet, 50 to, you know, 75 feet from the door. So I was walking up there and like an idiot. I was like thinking of that lost dog and thinking of the lost dogs. And I thought maybe this was somebody that had a lost dog or, you know, something that needed help. So the brush that I was walking towards was that Japanese knot lead.

7:22So it's almost like a bamboo, very tall and very bushy. So as I was walking up to it, you know, thinking back now, how stupid I was. I was doing saying here puppy, puppy, here puppy, puppy, thinking that it was a lost dog. And as I got up closer, I was probably like five feet from the brush line. All of a sudden, whatever it was in there, I never did see it. But it let out this roar that just I stopped and just stared for about a second before I took off running. Because it made my blood turn cold and I knew it wasn't a puppy. So I ran, I didn't even look back at me. There was all kinds of, you know, noise being made in the brush like something big was coming out. So I ran, the dogs were like watching me intensely. They didn't bark. They didn't do anything.

8:22But as soon as I opened the door and hit the door, they ran inside. It unnerved me so much that I sat down on the floor and I did not get up until it was like I was crying on the floor. I was so shaken up. It was, it was, it was horrible. So finally I got up and I was kind of peaking towards the windows because I was fully expecting whatever it was to come, you know, breaking through the window or the door. So it was huge, whatever it was, it was huge. And that never happened. So I ended up going to work a little late that morning, right, trying to shake it off. I came home and told my son about it. And he says, that's the thing. I'm telling you there's something in its big. It's massive. So then probably about a week later, a lot of times when he was late coming home from classes, I would stay up or I would listen for him to come up the driveway.

9:31So this one, one night he was coming home. I heard him pull in. I heard him walk up the driveway because we have a gravel driveway that's right off of our, it goes right next to our bedroom window. So whatever's walking in the gravel driveway, I can hear it. And I heard him walk up to the back door because we really don't have a front door. And then he turned around and walked back. And I thought, oh man, we locked the door on him. You know, I better get up and let him, you know, get him so he doesn't have to go down through the basement door. So I jumped out of bed. I ran into the kitchen to try and catch him and to my surprise, he was standing in the kitchen. And I looked at him and he looked at me and he's like, what? And I said, um, I just heard you go back down the driveway and he's like, no, I came in and I've been petting the dogs.

10:31So, you know, in hindsight, we sat there and talked as I wasn't getting any sleep that night. Something had followed behind him in the gravel that he had not heard. It was silent. And it had turned around and walked back down the driveway. It was bipedal. It was not like a dog or something walking on four feet. It had two feet. It was, it sounded like a human to me. So then we started noticing other things. The banging started on the side of our house. I could hear things on top of our roof. I could hear and we had an old roof then. We had to fix our roof. So you could hear the creaking. You could hear that they would run all the way across the top of our roof. They liked when we had guests over. They would do things like banging on the side of the house or, you know, banging on the windows.

11:37And so we couldn't figure out what it was. At first, we were like, okay, you know, we're new to the area. We've only been here a couple years. It's kids. They're messing with us, you know. So we would go outside and try and catch, you know, whoever it was running off. And we started noticing that we could hear them running off. But they would do things like we had a fence in the back of our yard that was about six feet tall. It was a wooden fence. They would scale that wooden fence within a second. And you could hear it going going going going going back and forth. And we didn't know of any person that could really do that. So we actually started getting pretty scared because we didn't think that it was an actual person. We didn't think it was kids anymore. So we started walking around with some weapons at night trying to, you know, we were being very careful because we have neighbors.

12:44We don't want to just blindly shoot or at anything, but we were trying to basically scare away if somebody saw us, you know, if this was a person. But then we started hearing the growling. And we would go outside after they would knock on the side of the house. And this was like, this was at all hours of the night. This was at midnight. This was at two o'clock. This was, I mean, it was, it was constant. So we would go outside and we could actually, we would know where they were because they would rustle the branches. They would make all kinds of noises. They would grow. I had not experienced anything like that, especially in a wild animal. I mean, my son hunted. I used to hunt when I was younger. I was a military police officer in the army. So, you know, I don't scare very easily. But this really started to unnerve me.

13:49So then my son started looking into it. And I remember the day he came to me. This was about six months into it. And he came to me and he says, mom, I know what this is. And I said, good, because I'd like to know what this is, you know, the constant banging. He would also pee on our door. And the smell was just ungodly. I mean, when it was around, when they were around, because there would be multiple ones at sometimes, you could smell them. I mean, the smell was like a sweet skunk smell, but it was, you know, it was unlike a skunk spray. It would dissipate rather quickly once they left the area. But anyway, so he came to me and he showed me a picture and he says, we have a dogman. And I was like, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. It's got to be, you know, new. I just, and we actually had some fights about it because he was very insistent.

14:54And I said, no, I don't think so. And then my husband got in, you know, he was just like, no, it's just a raccoon. You know, he kept going back to the raccoon. Now, did you got, did you even, at that time, did you even know what a dogman was or room? So, but you're, so he's providing you with some information. And you're just like, no way. That's not. 18:04I remember telling him that that's something out of a movie. Those things aren't real. They're not. It probably took me another good three months before I came around to that way of thinking. Now during this time, I want to say I was terrified. I was terrified to go out of my house. As soon as the sun went down, I didn't step foot out of my house. Even if I did have protection or whatever, I had caught a glimpse of something but I couldn't tell you what it was. Because they were fast. They were very, very fast. And I got the feeling that they were toying with us. They were playing with us. Once I finally sat down and listened to what my son was telling me, he had been in contact with Linda Godfrey.

19:14Linda Godfrey told him, tell your mom to call me. I was terrified. She said, tell your mom to call me. I finally called Linda. She asked me about God bless her. She was so wonderful. She asked me about what was going on and what we were seeing and what we were hearing. She said, flat out. Just like I told your son, you've got a dogman. During that whole time, she was the one that really helped us and helped us understand and help us come to the realization of what we had. Another encounter that we had, we've had dozens of encounters. Another one that really opened my eyes was we had chickens. And we had this one white rooster that the other chickens and the other, we had another rooster.

20:14He would, he would get picked on. So we called him Lonely Boy because he was always off on his, on his own, right? So he, we had a, next to the chicken coop, we had an old rabbit hutch that he would go into at night. And we would, you know, lock him up and everything. So he went, you know, he would do that. Well, one, one night my son came into the bedroom and he's like, mom, you got to get up. Something's got Lonely Boy. And I was like, what do you mean? He goes, I don't know. I just hear all kinds of squawking out there. And, and so we ran out. I had, I had my Mossberg and he had his rifle and we went out and we could see there's a, there's a fence, like a four foot fence. That was wire fence by the neighbor's house. And we could see the poor chicken was on the other side of the fence.

21:14And he was bashing against the fence, trying to get back over into our yard. So we just stood there and we were like, how did he get out of the coop? You know, because we'd lock the coop. We didn't know how he had gotten out of there. I kind of made the comment of maybe a coyote had grabbed him and dropped him as it was going over the fence or something like that. And so I said to my son, I said, lift the fence. So that Lonely Boy can run out and come back to us, you know, run, run towards us because we had our lights and everything. And he is like, no, I'm not going to lift that fence. I'm not going over there. So I finally convinced him to do that. So he lifted the fence and poor Lonely Boy, he came running up underneath the fence and came right towards us. And I'll never forget. He actually did want to look up at me and looked at my son. And he was like, no, and he ran underneath the deck. And he stayed under that.

22:19Wow. I couldn't cope, coax him out. I was able to crawl under there the next day and pull him out because I wanted to make sure he wasn't heard. He had some feathers missing, but that was about it. So it was like, okay. So anyway, he takes off. And me and my son are looking and we're shining our flashlights into the wooded area there. And we're kind of looking around and all of a sudden we heard this. The same thing that I had heard earlier, you know, a couple months ago, this blood curdling just low growl. It didn't come from like you think like a coyote or something went knee level or waist high or whatever. It came from about three feet over us. So then we were like looking in the trees and we were looking to see what was, you know, maybe something it climbed up in the trees. We didn't see anything. But the growl, you know, continued. So we were like, we're going back in the house. So we came back in the house.

23:22So you ended up under the deck with lonely boy. Yeah, pretty much. I just got to tell you as soon as you said that and everybody from my generation listening, immediately can hear the Andrew Gold saw him. Oh, what a lonely boy. Like I wish I could. We had enough money to get the rights to that to play underneath. I encourage everybody to go. Go listen to that after. So poor lonely boy. Probably about three or four days later, the same thing happened again. He was out. He was out of the same thing. He was over the fence. And at this point, we're like, okay, something's messing with us now because it didn't hurt him. And whatever was in the yard, we had, I mean, at one point we had goats. We had pigs. We had chickens. We had ducks. We had, you know, geese. It never hurt any of our animals. Never touched them. Right.

24:26So whatever it is is going to the trouble of unlocking the hutch, taking lonely boy out and putting him over the fence. Yeah. So at any time, they could aid him. It could have. At any time. Wow. That's a level of messing with you that is. You know what I'm saying? Like that is some psychological warfare. Yeah. And honestly, I think that's exactly what it was. I don't know if it was testing us. I don't know if this was a game. You know, once we finally learned what they were, you know, I called it the cryptid ding dong ditch. You know, they knock on the house. We'd come running. But by then we were not. When they would knock on the house, we wouldn't run outside anymore. So I think this was the next level. They're like, okay, they're not coming out when we knock on the house.

25:26So let's see if we can mess with their rooster. You know, so it got to the point where lonely boy would not go in his cage at night. So we ended up putting a dog kennel on our back porch. And he would run around all day. But as soon as that sun started coming down, he would peck on the side of the our sliding glass door to be led in. And then we would let him on the porch at night so that nothing would get him. Wow. That's great. Like, like I said, that's a whole nother level of just messing with you that is goes beyond the usual dog man story where it just grins at the snarles at the person like, I know you know, kind of deal. This is way beyond that. Oh, no, yes, they mess with I mean that the amount of messing that they've done with us is just insane. And we ask ourselves a lot of the times like why? Why do they get us? Why are they doing this?

26:33I think it's because that we could see them at times. But I'm going ahead of myself. So still back in that time, we're we're thinking about, you know, okay, if this is a dog man, you know, how do we prove it's a dog man? So I got trail cameras. My husband and I went and bought trail cameras, right? That's the next logical step. So we put out trail cameras and it wasn't very long that I caught one good like a couple good pictures that basically helps solidify what we had. And those are the ones that we're going to show that we're going to show. Yes. Okay. So we'll put those up and then you describe what what people are seeing because you didn't even need to describe it to me and I could see what was happening.

I would pull the SD card out. Now mind you, this was 16 years ago. We didn't have the internet back. We had the internet, but not like what we have now with the trail cameras. I would pull the SD card in and before I made dinner, I would look through the cards from the night previously. I was in the first picture. I almost deleted it because I didn't know what was there.

29:54What the picture shows is my husband is going at night because I wouldn't go out at night. He would go out at night. He wasn't scared of them. The way we had our coop is we had, it was basically just an old shed that we had cut a hole in. At night, when we put the chickens up, we put cement blocks up and blocked them in so that raccoons and stuff couldn't get into get them. He was going out to put the cement blocks up and then he would just come right back in the house. The first picture shows him walking out and it shows the shed and everything. There were two orbs that were over his head. I didn't really pay attention to it until the next picture. The next picture showed that he was walking back and those two orbs that I saw had moved.

31:03Before they were kind of hunkered down, they were hiding and just peaking out over at him as he was walking up. As soon as he walked away, it lifted up. Whatever it was, it lifted up. I think it's good for your listeners to know that there was nothing behind that barn that anything could have been standing on. There was a tree that was about six feet away and the branches came down over the barn. There was nothing number one on top of the barn so you can't see a body up there or anything. There was nothing for anything to stand on behind it. This thing was, at least, we took the measuring tape. It was at least seven to seven and a half feet tall. In the first picture, you can see that it hunkered down and he walked over and he was within inches of this thing and he never saw it, never heard it, never even had a clue.

32:09In the second one, it lifts its head up and you can actually see the snout. You can see the ears. You can see the dog man face. When I looked at it, I see these two, like you said, it looks like I thought they looked like eyes right away. Then to me, it looks like he turns the walk away, it turns his head to look at him as he's walking away. That's how I saw it. I'm seeing the same thing that you're describing. You know the layout of the chicken coop and stuff better. I was like, oh my god, it turned and it's head and looked at him. I was like, yeah, I followed him where he was going and I was like, okay, that's so everybody you can rewind, go back and look at these pictures.

33:09Tell us what you think, but it didn't take, I mean, and I'm pretty picky when it comes to pictures. I think it's pretty plain to see that, okay, maybe if it's not a dog man, there's something there with a couple of eyes looking at your husband. That's all I can say. You know, so you know, disputed, you know, if you want, but I think it's pretty plain that there's something there checking him out, which, how did he feel about that when you showed him that picture? He didn't even want to look, it took him over a month before he would even look at it because he was just, he was like me at first with my son, you know, no, no, no, you know, it's just raccoon. It's so, so my son and I, we did some, we had to debunk it, right. So one of the first things I looked at was, okay, if that's like somebody up there with a mask on, you know, that's just trying to scare us, right.

34:11You know, the main thing was, A, there was nothing for them to stand on. They couldn't hang off the side of the coop, you know, I couldn't see that being very realistic. But then B, humans eyes don't shine when the camera hits them or the infrared hits them. Well, and I mean, so we really haven't said where you're at. I don't want to give specifics, but you guys are out, we'll just say you're outside Akron, Ohio. Okay. And you're not in Akron, Ohio, which you're out in the country around Akron, Ohio, which is a much like rural, Ohio, you don't, it's not smart to go on somebody else's property and try to scare them by the chicken coop, especially if you're the one that's been doing this the whole time. Because you have, you would have to know, ooh, they're carrying, they got weapons sometimes out here. And I, you know, I could get shot. Now, people are stupid. It may not, you know, rationalize that and come to that conclusion.

35:17But it is, it would be dangerous to be out messing around with somebody's property like that. If you were a human, I mean, not that it does not happen, but you see what I mean, you understand what I'm saying. Yeah, you'd really have to be sure that you weren't going to get shot just to just to stand there and not like jump and scare, you know, because all it did, all the whatever it was just stood there and had no idea if it was going to get caught on a camera or anything like for all it, no, no one ever saw it. Yeah. Yeah. You know, so yeah. Yeah. So, so he was within six inches of whatever it was. We also, we have neighbors on that side. So we were, we were like, okay, maybe a car pulled in, right. So we, we tried to reenact that. So I would drive. And then kind of pull into their driveway to see where the headlights were and then my son took pictures of it. We had the trail cam and it was nowhere near. You couldn't even see the headlights were down and the building was was basically covering those headlights.

36:31So it wasn't that I contacted the ODNR and I sent the pictures to them and they told me that it was a pair of raccoons on my roof and I said, okay, well, where's the bodies and where's the other eye because there's only two eyes. There should be four eyes, right. We're the other eyes. So I didn't believe, you know, what they said, I, you know, with seeing the head, I mean, I had a friend show me because I don't know how to do tech stuff. Anybody will tell you that I'm a lunch lady. You know, so, um, you're not just a lunch lady. You're the lunch lady. Don't sell yourself short of the lunch lady. So anyway, uh, you know, so I had somebody show me how I can lighten it up. And as soon as I lighten that up and that darkness of that face kind of popped up. And I was like, I'm going to get out a little bit on that. Oh my gosh. I was just like, this is what it is. It's a dog man. You know, and then a couple months later, it was in December.

37:32My son had actually gone to Hacking Hills. He was going to school to become a forest ranger in Hacking Hills. He'd been accepted there. And then the first one was on a trip for work. So I was home all by myself. And this is the second one that really solidified it for me. And that we have a problem because I know, you know, um, so I, it was about midnight and I was at my table at my kitchen table. And I was sitting there and my cat was actually on my lap and I was doing work for work trying to play catch up. And all of a sudden I heard this huge thump on the deck like something had jumped off the roof and landed on the deck. I mean, I'm sitting in the exact same spot. It's, it's about three feet to my right. And it had curtains on it. So I couldn't see out, but I was not getting up to look outside.

38:41I was just sat there for a little bit listening to see whatever it was where, where, you know, if it was going to, you know, come over and and mess with me or try to try to get into the house or whatever. I did go and get my protection because I carried it wherever I went, especially when I was home by myself. Shop now at QVC.com. So it kind of rattled me a little bit and about 10 minutes later I decided, you know, I'm going to call my husband. He didn't pick up. He was probably sleeping and then I called my son and he was studying. So I told him what had happened and he said, well, mom, don't go outside and I said, don't worry. I'm not going outside. Now the other thing that this night was a full moon and it had just snowed.

40:55So we had probably about two and a half inches of fresh snow on the ground and I walked over to my kitchen sink to get myself some water and I stopped because I could see something in the neighbor's yard. Now there's an antique barn that's behind us and it's probably about a hundred feet behind us and I could see what looked like a man that was running very fast back and forth, back and forth and every once in a while he would or it would reach down like it was grabbing something and I, you know, I'm still on the phone with my son on my cell phone and I forgot that I was on the phone with my son. Because I'm sitting there going, what is that? What the age is that, right? And I'm trying to figure it out as I'm watching this thing just it was like running just back and forth, back and forth and it was trying to grab something and it was, it was fast, whatever it was, it was fast, but it was on two legs. I could see it just like it was the daylight and I probably watched it for about another 10 minutes and all of a sudden I heard my son going, mom, I'm going to go.

42:12What's going on? You know, and then I remember I was on the phone with him so I told him about what I was looking at he's like don't go outside don't go outside and I said don't worry. I won't go outside and the thing that irks me is neither one of us said mom. Take a video. You know mom take some pictures mom show you know and neither one of us the whole time even thought of that. So I think I watched it for about 20 minutes and then it just ran behind the antique barn and I didn't see it anymore. And so my son's like are you okay and I'm like yeah yeah I'm okay and is it I'm okay I think whatever it was was gone. So I went to bed and I didn't sleep very much that that night and I decided I was going to get up early the next morning and I was going to go look for footprints because whatever that thing was it had to have left footprints right.

43:19So I was more focused on walking over to the neighbors yard than our own deck I didn't even look at our deck at that time. So I walked over there and I saw hundreds of footprints everywhere and those are the other those are the other pictures that you said that will put will put up here. So people can see. Okay. So the I walked around for about 20 minutes trying to find actual footprint because it had run over the same footprints numerous times and it was like skidding and it was like so you really I really couldn't get good footprints now I was not an investigator at that time. So I didn't know what to do so I did find a couple of them and a couple of them I it looked like it was the back feet and then there were a couple of them that looked like like the front had swipe the snow.

44:20But you can see the fingerprints and everything in it. Okay. Yeah, so I didn't have anything to tell the scale of those footprints so what I did was I used my hand and I put my hand up to them and they they were as big as my hand. And so then I came into the yard and we had at that time we had Wilson and he was a black lab and he was about 75 pounds. So I then found one of his footprints in the snow from going outside just so I would have something you know to compare it to and it was less than half of the size of the footprints that I saw in the snow that day. Wow. Yeah. And and I'm going to be honest, even if you did take a video from your kitchen window, how good would it have been? Well, it would have been a cell phone, you know, back there 16 years ago.

45:20Yeah, it would have been terrible. Yeah, it would have been. It would have shown something, you know, what I was looking at you definitely could have seen something running back and forth. But I didn't honestly, I didn't think of it. So yeah. So then we had a couple of other occurrences like so we had these friends of ours. That they were getting a divorce and the husband was doing some some not so nice things and they had a dog and he had actually taken the dog to the to the pound without telling my friend. So we found the dog and she had said to me, I can't take I can't take scooter, you know, can you hold on to scooter until we get everything taken care of and I said, yeah, and she had two small children. I think five and seven, I think is where the ages at the time.

46:21So they would periodically come over to the house and see scooter and play with them and everything and this one particular day it was. It was in the fall, so it was about October-ish and they were here and I was in the house making hot cocoa for them because it was cold outside and everything and my husband was outside and the kids were playing with the dogs and everything. And she the mom came in and as I was making the hot cocoa, she says, you have a very weird neighbor and I went, which one? Which one? And she says, well, the one is up there. If your neighbors watch this, I know they're not going to be. So go ahead. No, we have good neighbors. We really have good. So she actually pointed up on the small little hill and she said the one up there and I was like, no, they're pretty good.

47:25I said, why do you think they're weird? And she said, because he's standing in the field in the grass. And he's bending down like he's picking something but he's wearing a gray fur coat. Now, he had not, we did not tell anybody for 10 years. We did not tell anybody about these things, right? But the one that we that came around the most, he was very large. He was an adult male. He was gray and we called him Mr. Gray. Because once we stopped running outside and stopped acting like crazy people, they started showing themselves to us. So it was my son, son first, then I saw them, that my husband eventually saw one.

48:29And it was usually Mr. Gray that we all saw. Now, there were other ones. They were darker ones. There were, there was a brown one and there was a couple black ones. And they usually came in threes when they came to visit. And the other ones were smaller than Mr. Gray. So we took this to be, you know, they were, they were the young. I don't know why they would bring them around people and show them to people. I don't know, but they would show themselves to us. And we kind, and I know this sounds really just even thinking of it. We kind of got used to having them around to the point where, you know, it scared us. We could feel when they were here. We could smell them. But it didn't bother us as much as it did in the beginning because they weren't terrorizing us. You know, they would just kind of pop up every once or while. And when we saw them though, we would only see him for a second.

49:35And then like, like, when my husband saw one, it was in the same area that this lady had seen him. And it dropped down to all fours. And it was, it disappeared. It was, it was just uncanny. You know, how they can disappear, how they can be silent. Like, you won't even know that they're there. You know, but anyway, so she's, he's talking about our neighbor and, and her son came in and he had overheard a part of the conversation. And he says, mom, that wasn't their neighbor. And we both kind of looked at him, you know, out of the mouths of babes, I guess. And she goes, oh, yeah, well, who wasn't? He goes, that was a werewolf. And this, this is a five year old, right? So at that time, do you feel compelled to say, or you just, you just say, oh, good imagination, Timmy.

50:36Oh, no, I told him I, I, I did. So how does that, so how does that go over? Because I understand you guys are now, so how many years in is this that you guys have been dealing with these couple of years? 16 year old into this? Yeah, probably about two years. Yeah. So and you guys realize, hey, look, if these things wanted to kill us, they could have killed us numerous times. They could have killed lonely boy, a bunch of times. They could have killed everything. But how do you convince somebody that's just now seeing it for the first time and knows that they just saw it? Okay, how do you convince them that? Yeah, I know you saw like a werewolf, but it's okay. We have an understanding, you know, we have an understanding. He's not gonna hurt. Like, how do you convince somebody of that? Like, then it's all right. Well, I think we tried to joke it off at first, right? Because she was like, oh, yeah, honey. And he's like, no, mom.

51:42And then the little girl came in and she's like, well, I saw it too. You know, then my husband came in and I was like, did you see him? Did you see Mr. Gray? And she turned to me and she says, you actually have a name for this thing? And I said, well, yeah. And so she goes, well, I think I better hear some more. So I told her, you know, about a lot of the things that were going on. But I made sure to let her know because she had kids there, right? I didn't want her to think that, oh, you're letting my kids come over here and you have these werewolves running around. You know, like, I was not, you know, taking. She's like, I'm dealing with a deal with a soon to be ex-husband. And now a werewolf. Yeah. Or what she like, hey, seems kind of like, is he single? No. No. No. No. No. So, so I want to ask. So at this point, where do you think they're coming from? If they're not living, because it's not like you own 50 acres of woods and they're been to back of the woods, right?

And we, sorry, hold on. My husband's coming in. Let me. The dogs are going to bark. Sure. They'll bark at your husband, but they won't bark at the. On the. They do. Yeah. They. They. Let us know when they're around. But anyway, okay, guys. So we have a lot of, we have a big park system near us. And I'm not going to name it because that's where I do a lot of my investigating.

54:54I believe that we have an actual family group that's around our area. I believe that other people have seen them, but nobody will talk about it. I do have somebody whose mom used to live across the street from us. And he said he had an encounter when he was younger with one. There seems to be like the story of every six years they show up. But we see him a lot more frequent than that. I believe, you know, we have a railroad system. We have a lot of water around us. I believe they're in the parks. I have found what what we call wood talk. So I found structures that they've built while they while they're in the parks.

55:54And the parks are frequent and by people. And I often go there trying to find their footprints or trying to find other things. But then it done done me that people walk their dogs in these parks. So even if I found footprints, I wouldn't be able to tell what if it was a wild, large dog or whatever. But I believe because of the way that we've seen these creatures, that I believe that they could be multi-dimensional. Or they have a way of cloaking themselves that they disappear. I mean, they're at one point I was looking out my window and it was a rainy day. And I saw one walking across my window, are walking probably about 15 feet across the yard. And I could see the head and I can see the shoulders. But then the bottom was like shimmery.

56:57You know what I mean? And I am a huge science fiction buff. So as soon as I saw that, I thought of the movie predator. Yeah, absolutely. That's exactly what it looked like. I was like, oh, okay. And we've seen them a couple times like that. Where there's a shimmer. And I think that's what I was looking at. I was like, as soon as they go into their, you know, their hiding mode or their camouflage mode or whatever. So they have some kind of capabilities. I've been, I've been out in the yard. And I've smelled them as they've walked by me. Didn't see them. Didn't feel them. But I sure could smell them. You know. Like as you're saying that, I mean, I just got an email from somebody two days ago that's talking about an experience similar to what you're talking about and how they're out in the woods. They're a seasoned hunter and all they all they could see then is the shimmer.

58:01And it's like, so is that like camouflage or are they really like, like is there, are they still there? And it's a really good camouflage that they have that we just don't really know. Or are they, you know, fading into suit to another dimension or whatever? I don't, yeah, I don't know. I believe that they're flesh and blood creatures. But I think, you know, there's some people call them evil. Some people call them demons. I don't think they're evil. I don't think they're demons. I think they're creatures like us, you know, they're trying to live. Why they show themselves to certain people? I don't know. You know, I, I don't know. I mean, we've just had. So I mean, it got to the point where I was tired of seeing them looking in our windows at us. I was like, you know, we got to have a little privacy here.

59:01You know, I would be at the kitchen window washing dishes and I'd hear the gravel moving and I knew that there was one right outside the window, you know, so I was like, okay, this is getting a little ridiculous, you know, these peeping times looking in my windows all the time. So I started putting curtains up and really heavy curtains so they couldn't see. Well, they didn't like that. So they started ripping our screens off of our house. Yes. Geez. I would like to see net insurance claim. No, I didn't, I didn't claim those. We didn't claim them. So, um, but what one other fun encounter we had was was on Halloween on the 31st. Greg was again, he was on a business trip. My son was at school and I had decided that I was done being scared in my house. So I invited a bunch of friends over and for a Halloween party.

1:00:04And we did a, um, like a big bonfire and stuff. So, and I had, I had gotten a bunch of other pictures and everything from the trail cams. And I had that lady that I told you she brought her kids. She told their story. Our neighbor came and he was telling his story. We were all pretty scared. There was about 20 of us sitting around the bonfire. And then one, one of the kids, there was a couple teenage boys there. They were about 15, 16 years old. They said, well, let's go on a dogman walk. You know, and let's, you know, you take us to where you saw them and you tell us the story. And, you know, they, they wanted to be scared. So I was like, OK, you know, so, um, I got my flashlight. And we kind of walked around the yards and everything. And, um, as we walked to the back of the neighbor's antique barn, um, there it was really funny because there, there are eyes shining in the back that we're in a tree.

1:01:06Now granted that's a, it was a raccoon because you could clearly see the raccoon, but it kind of scared everybody. And then everybody was like, oh, no, we got it. We were done with this. We were really done with this. So we went back and about 10, 15 minutes later, I heard the boys were squabbling about something. And I was like, what's going on guys? I walked over to them and they were like, well, you know, the one pointed to his friend and he said, you know, he, he took my keys and I can't find my keys. And I said, did you take his keys, you know, like, you know, trying to, you know, get everybody to get along. And he was like, no, I don't have his keys. And I said, okay, maybe you dropped them. What are your keys, you know, what do your keys look like? And he told us that they were on a key ring and he had a long, lanyard on it. So I said, okay, well, that won't be too hard to find. So we all kind of split up. We were looking in the yard. We were looking everywhere for those keys.

1:02:07We couldn't find them. Um, and then we were like, okay, well, let's, let's retake. Retrace our steps for when we, we did the dogman walk. So we were doing that. And then all of a sudden the boys, they started yelling at each other and, and really yelling at each other. And I was like, what's going on guys? And he's like, look, he did that. I know he did that. And I was like, did what? And he pointed probably about seven feet over our heads. And there were his keys, but they were wrapped around a tree branch. Like not just thrown up into the tree branch. They were, they were totally wrapped around the tree branch. And we all kind of looked at each other. And we were kind of like, didn't know what to say to him. And he was like, it took him, it took him right out of my pocket. It took it right out of my pocket. He was freaking out. Right. And so I said, okay, well, we got to get those keys down.

1:03:09You know, so I went and got a ladder. And I was like, oh, who wants to go up there? Of course, nobody would go up there. Right. Because they were afraid that something was going to grab him. So I got the, I got him down. And he left immediately. And. Well, yeah. Okay. To this day, we wanted to see if he wanted to do an interview. And he says, I never even want to talk about that. He has never stepped foot on our property since then. You know, that was pretty scary for a nice Halloween story. He had one of his own, you know, best. That's like the best Halloween party ever. Like I think you should have the dogman walk Halloween. Because everybody is always after us to take people out on Temple Road here. I do the judges. I say we go to your place. Yeah. Holy smokes. I mean, but again, I think that's what I'm going to do. Holy smokes. I mean, but again, that just goes to show you like the lengths that these things could go to to just mess with you.

1:04:17And if they wanted to, I mean, if they're grabbing keys out of his pocket, they certainly could grab him and be gone. Yeah. And you haven't, I mean, they haven't heard us. They scare us. I mean, there was another time when. This was the worst scare that I had. I came home. My husband wasn't home yet. And it was, I'd had a board meeting at school. So it was about 9 30 10 o'clock. And of course, it's dark. And the chickens need to be, you know, put up and everything. So I walked out to the chicken coop. I was, I was trying to be brave. And so I walked out to the chicken coop. And I opened the door and counted all the chickens to make sure that they were all in there and everything. And then. So they were in there. So I went to go and close the, so at this time, since we'd seen the picture, I didn't, we didn't have the bricks on the outside.

1:05:19We had them on the inside because I wasn't going to walk back there and have that thing there. So I was picking up the bricks and everything and just then something massive hit the side of the barn. Hit the side of the building. And it hit so hard that the chickens automatically started squawking and there, there's, and then I dropped down to all fours. And I dropped the light and the light went out. So I had no light. And whatever it was was banging on the chicken coop. And I, I thought, I thought that the chicken coop was going to come down because it was just swaying back and forth. And the chickens were going crazy and it was all so I dropped on my hands and knees. And I was just, I was terrified. And then my cell phone fell out of my pocket. And I remembered, oh, yeah, I do have my cell phone. So I called my husband. And he's like, what's going on? And I was like, I told him, I said, how far away are you?

1:06:19And he says, I'm like five minutes away. And I said, make it two because I think they're going to get me, you know, they're here and they're, they're, you know, I don't know what they were going to do. And so he, he did, he floored it and he made it home. And he pulled up right next to the coop. And I ran out. I didn't even care about closing the latch on the chicken coop. I ran out. I ran into the house. And I remember turning to him and I said, we're moving. I'm done. This is, you know, I'm not going to put up with this anymore because I was terrified. And then the next day I expected to go out and see like broken boards or anything. You wouldn't have even known that that even happened. There were no scratches. There were no broken boards. There was nothing. And I was like, that was, that was the most terrifying encounter that I'd had with them. So. At QVC, shopping is more than just checking out.

Now you've mentioned it a couple of times that you're now investigating this stuff.

1:08:32So what led you down that pathway other than basically being tormented or living with these creatures around your house for like what made you take the next step of okay I want to see if I like a lot of things. Did you want to help other people that you want to find more out about the subject or what both of those because I had reached out to several investigation places I had reached out to the North American dogman project they never return my calls. I talked with Lahn Strickler once. And you know, he had me on his show early early and you know, but I simply wasn't getting any answers. So I met a group my husband and I got a camp or down and hacking hills in a private campground.

1:09:34And I met a couple of people there that were actually doing investigations. So I started hanging around with them and learning more and telling them my story. And I think through meeting them. I was able to realize that you know, the way that I feel about these things and being terrified and being about being terrorized, you know, that's that seems to be the norm of some of the things that they do to people. And I didn't feel so alone. And then I also don't want that to happen to somebody else because for 10 years we didn't say anything. We didn't I didn't go out of my house when it was dark. You know, and that I almost felt like a shut in. I guess my feelings about myself like I'm not a coward. I don't want to be, you know, I don't want my house to become, you know, my prison, right.

1:10:39So I threw them and through the years I learned, you know, different investigation techniques. And I actually got to go on that with them on a couple pretty exciting investigations where, you know, with big foot and stuff. And we found some really cool footprints and things like that. So I began to not feel so alone. And I think the reason why I agreed to get or we agreed to get our story out is I never want somebody to feel like that. I never want somebody to think like they're crazy because they see something or I want to be able to talk to people that have these kinds of encounters to let them know that they're not alone. Does that make sense? Yeah, 100%. I mean, that's, you know, that's what we started the show for, you know, and that's what the judges whole basis for coming forward with his story was, I don't, you know, if I can come forward, I want, you know, hopefully other people will feel comfortable coming forward.

1:11:48And because there are no like, I guess, I don't know what, what you say, there's no like support group in the yellow pages where you can go like dog man anonymous or whatever. I mean, it's really like these communities that get built up around a lot of the, a lot of the podcasts that do this stuff that give an opportunity to, to people like you to tell their story. It, it's those communities then that wrap their arms around people and say, hey, look, you know, you're not alone, you're not crazy. And that's where a lot of them, the people, you know, there's people probably listening that have experiences that are similar to yours like to that level. And they've just thought, this is going to sound crazy if I go tell people that. And by you coming forward and other people coming forward, then it kind of tears down those walls and those barriers to those other people.

1:12:54And then they feel like, okay, somebody else experienced what I experienced. I'm not losing my mind. You know, I mean, that's the best way to look at it. So yeah, you're doing a great service by not only sharing your story, but now going out and helping people and I will attest to everybody that carries a great investigator, her and her team like, you know, we set this that we were going to do this up. And then a location came up in between that you guys ended up going and investigating and and you guys really did a lot of work to debunk a lot of stuff that is going to be a lot of work. That was questionable. That that seemed like good evidence. And you guys debunked a lot of it and didn't just take it, you know, at face value, you know, really tried to and then, you know, at some point will revisit this that that investigation and we'll share it with everybody.

1:13:59But you know, I saw the videos you guys took of the orbs and I mean, those are kind of cool like that was really cool. So can I give a shout out to my team? Yeah, give a shout out to give a shout out to your team and where, yeah, where if somebody has something going on, especially in Ohio. And even if you're not in Ohio, I'll connect you with carried you, you know, you guys could talk, you know, if, but if you guys have if somebody's listening and has something going on in Ohio and wants a good solid team to come out and and check it out and carry may or may not bring you food. Did you hear about that? She may or may not bring you food. So no pressure or anything, but yeah, give me shout out. All right. So our team is we're called exposing the strange and David is our photographer and we're all cryptid investigators and then Todd is a wildlife photographer.

1:15:08And and then of course, there's me and we do have a couple other people that join us at times, but we do have a YouTube channel that David runs and it's David's channel. We just kind of come along for the ride, you know, and it's called exposing the strange, right? Closing the strange. Yes, on YouTube. Yes. Yeah, we'll put a we'll put a link in the bottom so people can go check out, you know, what, what you guys have done over there. And I mean, I'm super excited to, you know, to get to get you guys along with the landowners together and just kind of go over some of some of what's happened to them and what you guys have discovered because it's kind of amazing, you know, what I thought what I thought was going to be found out the window, out the window. That's, but that's why I don't go out there looking. I let it, I let it, I let the professionals handle it. But so what, so in closing, if you're talking to somebody here, talk, you're talking to people listening.

1:16:18What advice would you give to somebody other than calling you if they fit, if they're experiencing something like this on their property that just won't because some people are not going to, they're not really going to be able to wrap their head around these things may not really want to hurt them. Yeah, I think that, you know, with our experience, the first emotion we, we went through was disbelief in that, you know, this can't be real like my eyes are playing tricks on me. So your brain, when you have an encounter or numerous encounters like we've had your brain tries to find something that's reasonable, something that it's known. And that's normal. And, you know, and then there's terror when you finally realize that this is actually something that is not a known animal or, you know, that, you know, people don't really believe in, you know, that kind of thing.

1:17:30You know, then you begin to doubt yourself. And for me, I think the worst part of it was was I went really deep inside myself, like I wouldn't talk about it. I wouldn't even, when I passed a window, I wouldn't look outside when it was nighttime because I didn't want to see what was looking back at me. You know, so, you know, that kind of withdrawing into yourself, that's not, that's not, it's not healthy, right? Yeah. So just finding somebody to talk to, you know, somebody that you can trust, you know, whether it's your family member, whether it's a friend and just talking it out, reaching out to like you, Shane, or exposing the strange, because that's one thing that we don't do is we never treat anybody like they're not being truthful, you know, we want people to know that we understand that, you know, some of the stuff that we've run up against, we can't explain it. It just happens to us, you know, that's just experiences that we've had.

1:18:35And a lot of the times when we do have a second encounter or we do see something else, you know, that doesn't, doesn't answer any of our questions. It just gives us more questions. Yeah. Exactly. So not having a question for something, doesn't necessarily mean that somebody doesn't believe what you're saying. But I mean, if I could tell the 16, you know, 16 year ago me, you know, something, it would have been that, you know, trust in what you see, trust in what you believe and what you feel and don't doubt yourself. That's great advice. Yeah, that's great. And I will point out that you may have delivered the greatest line in from the shadows podcast history. And I'm, it may end up on a t-shirt, but when you said, when I heard the growl, I knew it wasn't a puppy. I'm like, that is gold.

1:19:44Like that is the understatement of the year. Like, so we got to capture that sound bite that, that may be my ringtone for you. Like, that may be my new ringtone from a growl. It was a puppy. Well, I heard the growl. I knew it wasn't about, that was fantastic. But no, Kerry, I appreciate, I appreciate you coming on and sharing what you guys have gone through. I hope people, you know, check out the pictures that we put up. And like I said, if you guys listening or having something happen and you want a good group to come out and listen to you and investigate the exposing the strange people are top notch. In my book. Thank you. So I would recommend you guys. But yeah, I appreciate it. And I can't wait till we can all get together and talk about this, this other case, because I think it will be, it'll be fun.
