Eye On The Sky — Detailed Forecast September 9th, 2026. Machine-transcribed; use the interactive transcript above to jump the player to any line.
From the Fairbanks Museum in St. John's Burry, welcome to this morning's edition of an eye on the sky. We'll begin the day on a quiet note as a high pressure system that brought us calm sunny weather begins to move out of New England. A warm front will then move in to take its place. Before it fully moves in this morning, we could see a few spotty rain showers mainly north of Route 2. Then as we head through the morning, the warm front will bring warmer and more humid air and showers will become more widespread through midday into the afternoon. With the passage of this warm front, we'll see more unsettled weather, winds will increase as that difference in air pressure between the approaching front and retreating high grows. The warmer, more humid air will also give the atmosphere enough energy to produce a few thunderstorms this afternoon. Overall, the biggest change will be going from a quiet start to the day to a much more active afternoon.
Now for the forecast today, a chance of morning showers north, then spreading south with a chance of afternoon storms, highs from the upper 60s to 70s. Then tonight, rain showers with a chance of storms, lows in the low to mid 60s, then on Thursday, a few lingering showers, with highs from the mid 70s to nearing 80. I'm meteorologist Megan Duncan with an eye on the sky.
