CHAPTER V. The Lord spoke to Moses saying, command the children of Israel that they put out of the camp every leper, and everyone who has an issue, and whoever is unclean by the dead. Both male and female shall you put out, outside of the camp you shall put them, that they not defile their camp, in the midst of which I dwell. The children of Israel did so, and put them outside of the camp, as the Lord spoke to Moses, so did the children of Israel. The Lord spoke to Moses saying, speak to the children of Israel, when a man or a woman commits any sin that men commit, so as to trespass against the Lord, and that soul is guilty. Then he shall confess his sin which he has done, and he shall make restitution for his guilt and fool, and add to it the fifth part of it, and give it to him in respect of whom he has been guilty. And if the man has no kinsmen to whom restitution may be made for the guilt, the restitution
for guilt which is made to the Lord shall be the priest, besides the ram of the atonement, by which atonement shall be made for him. Every heap offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel which they present to the priest shall be his. Every man's holy thing shall be his, whatever any man gives the priest it shall be his. The Lord spoke to Moses saying, speak to the children of Israel and tell them, if any man's wife goes astray and is unfaithful to him, and a man lies with her carnally, and it is hidden from the eyes of her husband, and has kept secret, and she is defiled, and there is no witness against her, and she isn't caught in the act. And the spirit of jealousy comes on him, and he is jealous of his wife, and she is defiled, then the man shall bring his wife to the priest, and shall bring her offering for her, the tenth part of an effa of barley meal. He shall pour no oil on it, nor put frankincense on it, for it is a meal offering of jealousy,
a meal offering of memorial, bringing a niquity to memory. The priest shall bring her near, and set her before the Lord, and the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel, and the priest shall bring her near, and set her before the earthen vessel, and of the dust that is on the floor of the tavernacle the priest shall take, and put it into the water. The priest shall set the woman before the Lord, and let the hair of the woman's head go loose, and put the meal offering of memorial in her hands, which is the meal offering of jealousy. The priest shall have in his hand the water of bitterness that brings a curse. The priest shall cause her to swear, and shall tell the woman, if no man has lain with you, and if you haven't gone aside to uncleanness, being under your husband, be free from this water of bitterness that brings a curse. But if you have gone astray, being under your husband, and if you are defiled, and some man has lain with you beside your husband, then the priest shall cause the woman to swear
with the oath of cursing, and the priest shall tell the woman, the Lord make you a curse and an oath among your people, when the Lord allows your thigh to fall away, and your body does swell. In this water that brings a curse will go into your bowels, and make your body swell and your thigh fall away. The woman shall say, Amen, amen. The priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall blot them out into the water of bitterness. He shall make the woman drink the water of bitterness that causes the curse, and the water that causes the curse shall enter into her and become bitter. The priest shall take the meal offering of jealousy out of the woman's hand, and shall wait the meal offering before the Lord and bring it to the altar. The priest shall take a handful of the meal offering as the memorial of it and burn it on the altar, and afterwards shall make the woman drink the water. When he has made her drink the water, then it shall happen if she is defiled, and has committed a trespass against her husband, that the water that causes the curse will enter into her,
and become bitter, and her body will swell, and her thigh will fall away, and the woman will be a curse among her people. If the woman isn't defiled but is clean, then she shall be free, and shall conceive a child. This is the law of jealousy, when a wife being under her husband goes astray in this defiled, or when the spirit of jealousy comes on a man, and he is jealous of his wife, then he shall set the woman before the Lord, and the priest shall execute on her all this law. The man shall be free from aniquity, and that woman shall bear her aniquity. CHAPTER VI The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, Speak to the children of Israel and tell them, When either man or woman shall make a special vow, the vow of a Nazarite, to separate himself to the Lord, he shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, he shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of fermented drink, neither shall he drink any juice of grapes, nor
eat fresh grapes or dried. All the days of his separation he shall eat nothing that is made of the grapevine, from the seeds, even to the skins. All the days of his vow of separation, there shall no razor come on his head, until the days are fulfilled, and which he separates himself to the Lord. He shall be holy, he shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow long. All the days that he separates himself to the Lord he shall not go near a dead body. He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother or for his sister when they die, because his separation to God is on his head. All the days of his separation he is holy to the Lord. If a man dies very suddenly beside him, and he defiles the head of his separation, then he shall shave his head in the day of his cleansing. On the seventh day he shall shave it. On the eighth day he shall bring two turtle doves or two young pigeons to the priest, to the door of the ten of meeting.
The priest shall offer one for under sin offering, and the other for a burn offering, and make a tomen for him, because he's sinned by reason of the dead, and shall make his head holy that same day. He shall separate to the Lord the days of his separation, and shall bring a male lamb a year old for a trespass offering, but the former day shall be void, because his separation was defiled. This is the law of the Nazarite, when the days of his separation are fulfilled. He shall be brought to the door of the ten of meeting, and he shall offer his offering to the Lord, one male lamb a year old with out blemish for a burn offering, and one male lamb a year old without blemish for a sin offering, and one lamb without blemish for a peace offering, and a basket of unleavened bread, cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil, and their meal offering, and their drink offerings. The priest shall present them before the Lord, and shall offer his sin offering and his
burn offering. He shall offer the ram for a sacrifice of peace offerings to the Lord, with the basket of unleavened bread. The priest shall also offer his meal offering, and his drink offering. The Nazarite shall shave the head of his separation at the door of the ten of meeting, and shall take the hair of the head of his separation, and put it on the fire which is under the sacrifice of peace offerings. The priest shall take the boiled shoulder of the ram, and one on leavened cake out of the basket, and one on leavened wafer, and shall put them on the hands of the Nazarite, where he has shaved the head of his separation, and the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the Lord. This is holy for the priest, together with the breast that is waved in the thigh that is offered. After that, the Nazarite may drink wine. This is the law of the Nazarite who vows and of his offering to the Lord for his separation, besides that which he is able to get, according to his vow which he vows, so he must do after
the law of his separation. The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, Speak to Aaron and to his son, saying, This is how you shall bless the children of Israel. You shall tell them, The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face to shine on you, and be gracious to you. The Lord lived up his face toward you, and give you peace. So they shall put my name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them. Psalm 143, a psalm by David. Hear my prayer, Yahweh, listen to my petitions, and your faithfulness and righteousness relieve me. Don't enter into judgment with your servant, for in your sight no man living is righteous. For the enemy pursues my soul. He has struck my life down to the ground. He has made me live in dark places as those who have been long dead. Therefore my spirit is overwhelmed within me. My heart within me is desolate. I remember the days of old.
I meditate on all your doings. I contemplate the work of your hands. I spread forth my hands to you. My soul thirst for you like a parched land. Hurry to answer me, Yahweh, my spirit fails. Don't hide your face from me so that I don't become like those who go down into the pit. Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning, for I trust in you. Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to you. Deliver me, Yahweh, for my enemies. I flee to you to hide me. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Your spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness. Revive me, Yahweh, for your namesake and your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble. In your loving kindness, cut off my enemies and destroy all those who afflict my soul. For I am your servant. Psalm 144 by David.
Bless me, Yahweh, my rock, who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to battle. My loving kindness, my fortress, my high tower, my deliverer, my shield, and he in whom I take refuge, who subdues my people under me. Yahweh, what is man that you care for him or the son of man that you think of him? Man is like a breath. His days are like a shadow that passes away. Part your heaven, Yahweh, and come down, touch the mountains, and they will smoke. Throw out lightning and scatter them, send out your arrows and route them. Stretch out your hand from above, rescue me and deliver me out of great waters, out of the hands of foreigners whose mouths speak deceit, whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood. I will sing a new song to you, God. On a thin stringed lyre, I will sing praises to you. You are he who gives salvation to kings, who rescues David, his servant, from the deadly sword. Rescue me and deliver me out of the hands of foreigners whose mouths speak deceit, whose
right hand is a right hand of falsehood. Then our sons will be like well-nurtured plants, our daughters like pillars carved to adorn a palace, our barns are full, filled with all kinds of provision, our sheep bring four thousands and ten thousands in our fields, our oxen will pull heavy loads. There is no breaking in and no going away and no outcry in our streets. Happy are the people who are in such a situation. Happy are the people whose God is Yahweh. The Gospel according to John. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, without Him was not anything made that has been made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn't overcome it.
There came a man, sent from God whose name was John. The same came as a witness, that he might testify about the light, that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but was sent that he might testify about the light. The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world didn't recognize him. He came to his own, and those who were his own didn't receive him. But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God's children, to those who believe in his name, who were born not a blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. The word became flesh and lived among us. We saw His glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth. John testified about Him. He cried out, saying, this was He of whom I said, He who comes after me has surpassed me, for He was before me.
From His fullness we all received grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one is seen God at any time. The one and only Son who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him. This is John's testimony when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask Him, who are you? He confessed and didn't deny, but He confessed, I am not the Christ. They ask Him, what then? Are you Elijah? He said, I am not. Are you the prophet? He answered, no. They said therefore to Him, who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself? He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness. Make straight the way of the Lord, as Isaiah the prophet said. The ones who had been sent were from the Pharisees. They ask Him, why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet? John answered them, I baptize in water, but among you stands one whom you don't know.
He is the one who comes after me, who has come to be before me, who sandals trap, I am not worthy to untie. These things were done in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing. The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. This is He of whom I said, after me comes a man who is preferred before me, for he was before me. I didn't know him, but for this reason I came baptizing in water, that he would be revealed to Israel. John testified, saying, I have seen the Spirit descending like a dove out of heaven, and it remained on him. I didn't recognize him, but he who sent me to baptize in water, he said to me, on whomever you will see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same as he who baptizes in the Holy Spirit. I have seen and have testified that this is the Son of God. Again, the next day John was standing with two of his disciples, and he looked at Jesus
as he walked and said, behold the Lamb of God. The two disciples heard him speak and they followed Jesus. Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them, what are you looking for? They said to him, rabbi, which is to say being interpreted teacher, where are you staying? He said to them, come and see. They came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. It was about the tenth hour. One of the two who heard John and followed him was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. He first found his own brother, Simon, and said to him, we have found the Messiah, which is being interpreted Christ. He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, you are Simon the Son of Jonah. Each hour be called Cephas, which is by interpretation Peter. On the next day he was determined to go out into Galilee, and he found Philip. Jesus said to him, follow me. Now Philip was from the Thessada of the city of Andrew and Peter.
Philip found Nathaniel and said to him, we have found him of whom Moses and the law and the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of Joseph. Nathaniel said to him, can any good thing come out of Nazareth? Jesus said to him, come and see. Jesus saw Nathaniel coming to him and said about him, behold, an Israelite indeed in whom is no deceit. Nathaniel said to him, how do you know me? Jesus answered him. Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you. Nathaniel answered him, rabbi, you are the Son of God, you are King of Israel. Jesus answered him, because I told you I saw you underneath the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these. He said to him, most assuredly I tell you, hereafter you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.
