You're listening to the Dana and parks podcast on KMBZ. Just to remind everyone, there's no such thing as cool call signs. There's no iceman out there. Doesn't exist. No Maverick. No Maverick. Yeah. Every time we meet, you ruin just a little bit more of that movie for me. I'm pretty sure I ruined this one for you a long time ago. Yeah, you did. But I was shocked when you told me years ago that call signs are really to make fun of the person that you give the call sign totally. You didn't pick your call sign anymore than I picked Twims. That's right. The windshield is my seatbelt. That's right. Classic. One of my best ever actually. That is pretty good. Yeah. No, and it's actually a sign of affection. You're the worst the call sign is in the cringier and like the more it kind of hurts you deep down inside, the more your buddies actually like you. And yours was a have. And again, I cannot. I've told you now personally. I can certainly it's not airworthy from from the book from the book.
Movie. I've been dumped on this show for less than telling that story. Morocco and Spain are arguing over the right to host the 2030 World Cup final with a besieged FIFA boss. Gianni in Fantino hovering backstage FIFA has yet to officially announce which country will host the biggest match of the biggest event in soccer in four years. And even though the 2026 edition just finished with Spain with Spain winning the title this summer, Morocco and Spain officials are staking their claim on the next final. So the next World Cup is going to be in Spain, Portugal and Morocco. Now there is going to be one game in. Tata Tata Tata Tata. Yes. Yes. The Brazil. No, it's not Brazil. Argentina. No, stop guessing. South America. Yes. No, you're a boy. You're a guy. A regular. Yeah. Yes. I thought you said Paraguay.
The first one of the boys is going to be in your guay because they won the first two World cups in back in the 1930s. That's cool. Yeah. So they're going to play say you're a great way again. Uruguay. Uruguay. Okay. I was just making sure you were doing it like a Midwestern or not giving it the cultural. No, that's. Dan. That's Dan who doesn't. Dan said you're a guy. You're a guy. Okay. Say it the way you would say it's right. Uruguay. Uruguay. Maracan. Medical. Say right. Brazil. Say Paraguay. Paraguay. No, say right. Paraguay. I mean, in Spain or Morocco really wanted that bad. I know how they could get it. Cut the check, baby. Oh, yeah. That's all they want. Just cut the check. Give, give Gianni the money right now before he gets thrown out of FIFA. He will take it and he will cash it and you will get anything you need. Good. Dar. I mean, don't even put FIFA in the pay line.
Just put Gianni right in the pay line and you're good. Yeah. He'll cash. This is going to be a dumb question and show how little I know about soccer. Why is the world cup treated like the Olympics and it's only every four years? Why? If there's so much money involved in this operation, why do they not treat it like the NFL and there's a super bowl every year and all that? I can answer. A dumb question. You anybody else want to take it? Well, it's not a singular event that happens over six. True. That is true. Yes. Yes. It's an entire giant global system. Well, there's qualifying that has to take right and qualifying takes two years. Okay. And so what they're doing, like right now, if save, for example, the US and Germany would have to play a match, it would be a friendly would have to be a friendly. And you only do that to keep your team tuned up. Okay. Right. And working as a cohesive and most of these people that play for their country, you're playing for other teams throughout the year anyway, right? So they would get together as a national team every once in a while, right? Right. But clubs like say, for example, sporting KC, although they don't have,
I don't think they have a single players on the national team at the moment. But you know, your Chelsea's or your man cities or, you know, Manchester United, whatever they all have their whole roster is international players, you know, who play for their, their home country. Sure. And if there is a match, for example, between Germany and Spain, okay? Even if it's a friendly, but definitely if it's a qualifier, your club has to give you time off. Okay. And so they try to build the qualifying in the summers because all European leagues play in the fall and winter in early spring. Okay. Known as the international break. Yeah. That's right. Well, the international break actually comes during the seasons. And then you, you play a lot with your national team during the summer, but there's an international break in the English Premier League schedule. There's a couple in fact where your Chelsea or man city or Manchester United
have to let you go play for your home country. Okay. Does that make sense? It does. No. It's very exciting. Hey, you know what? There's a lot of people like me that don't understand this. Well, maybe they do captivated this city all summer long and Kansas City and the others did a great job. And, but it's the qualifying that takes so much time. Okay. Otherwise you end up with what, you know, Togo ends up in the World Cup. If you don't have qualifying, it would take forever. Does that make sense? It takes four years already, so. Okay. And like with the Olympics, they have qualifying events in those four years in between as well. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. All right.
