D&P Highlight: No. That door will not open.

I don't say I don't have anything else to say. Except that Kansas is very top heavy on its number of districts that it doesn't need to be. Yeah. And they need administrators. They need well, that's what I mean. Because they need to. Every district needs administrators. Yeah. And every school needs at least five principles. They all serve very important purposes and very vital jobs to maintain school safety and security and the quality of education of our children. Not disputing any of that. I'm saying we have too many school districts in the state. A drunken or a drunk Russian plane passenger heading to a party in New York had to be held down by five people. To stop her from opening a door mid air and then bit and kicked a flight attendant who refused to serve her more booze.

1:05The chaos caused the flight from Italy to be diverted to Maine on Tuesday of this week. Just days after another Newark bound flight was diverted when a craze passenger had to be duct taped duct taped and zip tied to his seat. Christina Ketashiva. Huh? 36 was reportedly acting nutty and slurring her words as she demanded alcohol. No. And then filmed crew members while calling them racist when they refused. Racist against Russians. I didn't know that Russian was a race. I'm just glad you said her name in a good old fashioned Midwestern accent. Christina Ketashiva. That is correct. What kind of accent am I supposed to use? Russian. Oh. Christina. How do you see it? They get a shiva. After refusing to count in their boys are you let it after refusing the captain's orders to return to her seat Ketashiva. Reach for the handle of the aircraft's rear door. That's when five flight crew members and passengers restrainer. As a pilot can I ask you a question? The door ain't going to open. If that's exactly what I was going to say.

2:06Yeah. There's all sorts of things. Usually there's an electrical mechanism that disengages the door. And then also there's just the differential of pressure. If you're at about 35,000 feet, you're in less oxygen. The airplane is pressurized not to sea level, but the differential is going to keep all the doors. You could be the strongest person in the world. Even if you could unlock that door, you're not going to get it to open. And that's so much pressure pushing in on the tube or pushing out. So you'll notice like airline doors. If you ever do notice this. The way they open is meant to be a plug kind of seal. And so when it closes it kind of they push the door. They kind of finagle it. I'm not describing it very well over the radio. No, you're doing it. Essentially it's sealed so that you can't pop the door out. It has to open inward. And you know when there's more air pressure inside just basic physics, it's going to press against that door. And I mean, we're talking it would take thousands and thousands of pounds of pressure to open that door. So they're not going to open it. What you're saying is they're not going to open. That's right. That's all I want to be good.

3:07I'm starting to think that misbehaving on an airplane is like a TikTok train that everyone's trying to open. And then they're going to get on video now. Well, see, and we were talking about this earlier this week with that lunatic alleged lunatic. It was going to be done. No, he was a lunatic. You're right. Who had to be duct tape. Did you see the pictures of this man? I did. Yes. And he was, he had to tie his hands together and everything because what did he do? Same. He was got into a two hour conversation with some rabbi. He sat down in first class next to, by the way, he is a messianic rabbi. So he does believe in Jesus. Okay. And started a conversation about religion. And apparently he was boozing up that day in the airport before getting on the plane because he allegedly only had one drink on the plane. At some point in that two hour conversation, it went from a peaceful conversation to he stood up and started yelling at the rabbi that then resulted in him choking the man. He was duct taped across his face and body almost look like they tried to mummify him with duct tape.

4:09And he proceeded to still try to attack the person sitting next to him despite the fact that he was wrapped in duct tape and had plastic handcuffs on. And apparently he was a realtor in Scottsdale, Arizona. That is true. And his, his, and while he sat there duct taped, he continued yelling at the top of his lungs, you have a tiny. Yeah. He made a number of homophobic and racist. Yeah. That's so he was still trying to fight despite having zero capability to do so. And it's like that. He was like, I'll bite your ankles off. They kept telling the flight attendants to duct tape his mouth and they were afraid that he would suffocate so they did not do that. Probably a smart move. Yeah. Scott, thank you for laughing at my obscure movie reference. Thank you. Boosting my ego. But here was the question we had earlier this week. This bad behavior on planes and recognizing it's a fraction of a fraction of 1% of all flights in the United States. Is this something that is new or has it always been there? We just didn't have the ability to record it and take pictures of people with duct tape or wrapped all around their body and head.

5:14And then Sam found a bunch of numbers that I guess in flight disturbances peaked in 2021. It was like 5,000 something in flight disturbance. It was like 5,700. Yeah. And we posited that that is because of post COVID, Pinta, travel. Yeah. You still have to put on your mask. I'm not putting this thing on. It doesn't work. Boba, Boba, sir, you have to put on your mask. I'm not doing it. And then that escalates and gets out of hand. But it is steadily started to come down in years since 2021. But still higher than it was pre COVID. Averaging like 1,600 now. I think we've talked many times, at least when I've been able to be here in the station with you guys. We've gone down these rabbit holes of a lack of discourse and just kind of society just sort of becoming more and more. Course? Yeah, like this. And you know, it always comes back to the same things we always start talking about. Social media and how people have kind of lost their filter because they're so used to spout enough in ways that you do online that you wouldn't do person to person.

6:19And it's almost like we're just kind of conditioning ourselves to be that way now. Does that have anything to do with it? I don't know. And I'd like to, you know, I think we typically look at the younger generations as being the TikTok generation. But this guy, how old was he? I mean, he was in his 50s. Well, this woman was in her mid 30s guy in the Scott, I sell Scottsdale guy. And that's his marketing, um, link, uh, motto. I sell crazy. Yeah. He was, he's 67. Okay. I'll tell you this, having been in airports a lot over the years and showing up to airports at all kinds of hours late night from the day. I mean, it's late night for the red eye flight early morning for the first flight out. You see people acting in ways that they just do not act anywhere else in society as soon as you walk on the grounds of an airport. And you know, all you got to do is walk past the breakfast restaurant at 6 a.m. in an airport that just opened up. And there's already people doing shots at tequila and, yeah, it's like, unless you're in a college fraternity, that's not really normal behavior. Do you think that they're, they're drinkin' and I've seen that too.

7:19There was a time it was probably me. But that they're drinking to calm their nerves because not every, but I know this is gonna be hard for somebody like you to believe not everybody enjoys flying. No, I, well aware of that. People very close to me that are very scared of flying. Um, no, because when you see some of these people deserve the behavior, they don't look like a nervous person trying to numb their feelings. They're usually backslapin' and laughing and, you know, carrying on as if they're ready to go where they're going. And they're probably three tall boys deep. 913-586-779-8-586-779-8.
