Maybe we'll play some Boston throughout the day. And we got to talk a little baseball. I mentioned the game tonight. I think this is going to be a really telling game, a really great game. I think it's a three-headed monster. I do believe that the world baseball classic is between the USA,

7:05Japan and the DR. In fact, they're the only three teams that have ever won it, right? This is the sixth one. Japan has won three times. Am I wrong by saying they're all undefeated in the tournament so far? Even though it's like the prelims and all that. But you can't sleep on Mexico. Who's had USA's number in this tournament since the beginning? They even eliminated USA. Mexico also undefeated in pool B. USA and Mexico and the same pool. So it's a big game. Is that the one you peed in? Yes. It's the one. Well, I'll tell you why. I'm a little torn because normally I'd be rooting for, let's go, Mexico, but not when they're playing USA. You do it. I got to keep it real. And I love the squad. I'm rooting for Aaron Judd. And I really like this cast of characters. But what I really love sometimes is reading the feedback. And realizing that a lot of times, especially the people, we talk to are on the same train track of consciousness and thought that we are as Kavino and Rich as a show. And, you know, I can't help but watch these games and notice the obvious.

8:05Like, wow, the energy level is different. Wow, the excitement is different. Wow, when you're playing for your country and in front of your country, and you're playing for that country on your jersey, man, the pride is next level. And I feel like everybody's also noticing that. And what it's really saying everybody is, why can't American baseball be as fun as what these Latin players are bringing when they're all together? When you see Wansoto hit a bomb. You see these Dominican dudes go nuts. When you see Alejandro Kirk hit a bomb. These Mexican dudes go nuts. They're busted out some barrels going crazy. When you see Austin Wells, you know, hit a home run for the DR the other night. They're going nuts. Like, why is this only limited to World Baseball Classic? By the way, Tatis Jr. with the Grand Slam. Yes, seriously, dude. It's next level excitement. Well, you know what it is? I'll tell you what it is. It's somewhere along the way. And along the way is a long, long time ago because baseball America's pastime,

9:06somewhere along the way, we stuck with these unspoken rules in an old guy sport. Baseball. You don't show up a pitcher. You don't celebrate. You certainly don't disrespect anyone. Celebrating is considered a showboating. A little showboating. A little showboating. And because of that, when there were a few players along the way that were like a Ricky Henderson. Yeah. I would say he's one of the OGs when he came to flashy. But he had to back it up by being one of the best ever. I think that a lot of times those guys were quieted. They were told like, yeah, that's not the big league way. I remember when Bryce Harper came in wearing all his face paint. It was like, I slowed down that Bryce Harper. Like, you know, players are reminding the world right now that baseball is always was and should be fun. Do you? Do you? Do you know? Do you remember when kangaroo fidjunior or a backwards hat? We made it seem like he was a wild and crazy guy.

10:08That was just where the backwards hat. It's not that serious. I got it. Winning serious. I get it. But you know, when you're making big plays, do you see these circus balls? Circus plays many machinals making in the infield. Yeah. It's insane. It's worth, it is worthy of when high five in the fans out of there. When you hit a home run in the world baseball classic and you're from a Latin American country. Yeah. These guys are doing elaborate bath flips, spins around. They're stopping in between the bases, hyping up the crowd. Like they're, I've seen a lot of funny videos on social media portraying this too. Like the difference between regular season MLB, American baseball, right? And the difference when all these guys are together on one team. Team Puerto Rico, team DR, team Cuba, you know, team Mexico. They're going next level crazy, man. Like I said, world is world cup vibes in baseball. When you think of the NFL, every time a guy sacks a quarterback, he's got some type of dance,

11:09or he's shoveling, or he's doing some more signature move. When a guy scores a touchdown, they have orchestrated dances on a turnover. The whole defense goes to the end zone and performs the dance they practiced during the week. You know what it proves though, Rich? It proves that within the confines of MLB, these guys tone it down. And it's like, yo, if you want that guy to play at their level and at their max and what you're paying them to do, you got to let these dudes have fun and do what they do. There's a brace what they do. There's proof in all this. So again, NFL first downs. Quarterback sacks. Quarterback touchdown. Quarterback touchdown passes. Turnovers. There's a dance and a gesture for everything. In the NBA, you hit a three pointer. Steph Curry is doing his little fall asleep thing. Guys are letting it up. Keeping the arm up there. There's dunks where people are hanging and gesturing every sport embraces this type of behavior.

12:09Except for baseball. Except for baseball. And that's their one flaw. We've been saying baseball's pop. And it is. It's our favorite sport where huge MLB fans let these guys. And I'm not saying anyone's not letting them. It's just the culture that has been established. And as a Yankees fan, they're the biggest culprits. They're the most boring sort of well, we don't do that. Unless we win the World Series. Yo, it's fun. And give the fans something to cheer about. You see these people going wild. They're going wild for baseball. It makes you. We don't see that. It makes you say, it's because of 162. You know what it's like? It's like it's like a tournament. No, is it? Is it their, their countrymen? I think it's Latin players. It's the freedom. It's the freedom of not fitting in the MLB box. My example would be, you know when you're in a relationship where you feel like you can't really be yourself. Yeah. And like, because you're not embraced or you're like goofiness. Like you almost have to, you almost have to pretend to be a version

13:10of yourself that you really not around the girl you're dating. And then if you meet your wife and this is the right one, you're like, oh my god, I could be myself. I could make my dumb dirty jokes. I could, I could say stupid stuff. And I could be a clown. And like, she loves me for me. She loves me for me. Who said that? Blessed Unisoles? I don't listen to that corny stuff. She loves me for me. You know who's the greatest example of this for real? I mean, we see it team by team. We see the difference. We see the energy. We see the crowd and the excitement. But your boy, Juan Soto is a clear example of having to tone it down for the Mets. And he's a totally different guy with the DR team. I don't know if it was because of the Mets, but it's major league baseball versus or baseball fair, whatever either way. Juan Soto, playing for the Dominican Republic, resembles a human I've never seen. You know, he's fired up. I might just got smiling. He's laughing. He's bat flip. And he's doing everything that I wonder if, but he's doing it instinctually. Is Juan Soto, or you could say a quick tournament brings out World Series Vime.

14:11So many ways to look at this. But I really believe that it's when these Latin players get together. That's really how they vibe and that's who they are and that's the way it kind of should be. It's major league baseball, the girlfriend that's not letting you be who you are. I feel that. No, no, no. I don't feel like they're not allowing it. I feel like that's just the old school mindset and that's why it is. Hey Leonardo. Yeah. Hey Leonardo, blessed union of souls. Hey Leonardo's the son. Not because I look like Leonardo, or that guy that played in Fargo. I think his name is Steve. Yeah, it sounds like. She likes me for me. Those are great lyrics, bro. And her laugh just like Jim Carrey. That's another lyric. There's poetry right there. You know what? Forget about playing Boston. Play some of that. So we'll play both. So here's, here's I want to go one step deeper. Remember I said I had a Juan Soto theory. Yeah. That for any met fans we have, I know we're on a lot in the East Coast parts in New York. I'm a New York kid living in LA.

15:11So I have all these group chats going on. And my buddies confirmed that they're like rich. I hate how accurate I think your theory is. Now I'm not the one that came up with. Well, Juan Soto doesn't feel at home in New York. Clearly that's the reason Steve Cohen cleared house. Later Peter Lonzo, later Nimo, later Jeff McNeil, later half the lineup. They kept Lindor because Lindor is like a fan favorite. But there's a lot of chatter that Lindor and Juan Soto don't like each other. And it started with Lindor, not necessarily welcoming Soto, where Soto thought he deserved a welcome to Queens. Welcome to the Metz. Well, remember Aaron Judd was also like the welcoming committee. He was like apparently overboard kind and friendly with Juan Soto. But before it was from your your old pal Mike Francesca, New York sports guy that said there was rumors that judge and Soto bonded real quick. Where Lindor got the news like we all did a year ago when Soto signed that huge deal

16:12and didn't immediately reach out. Welcome to the Metz. He just sort of let it linger. Yeah, I didn't reach out at all from what I heard. No, it's like it's like one of your friends got from bed. They have a family member, die or they get married or do something big. And you don't reach out like they didn't reach out. Yeah, like what type of friend are you like you got to reach out, right? No, it's like when Stu Gotts was hired here. I did we not shoot him a little DM and say, Hey, congrats. Look forward to work on it. It's a great point. Yo, I didn't know Stu Gotts at all. I never met him or worked with him. I knew him. But when he got signed, you know what I did, Sam? What's that? I DM them and I said, Yeah, dude, always enjoyed what you do. Welcome to the fam. Because that's what you do when you're on a team. Yeah, or when you want to welcome somebody, right? Did you reply? He did. Oh, good. You know what? I'm going to go look right now. Because I think I reached out too. Oh, he said he'd only replies to me in that use. He doesn't like him. No, he doesn't like him. He said he knows. Did you send me an eggplant? At the staff dinner. What does that mean? Covino at the staff dinner. He must've took me for you because he walked up and he's like,

17:12Dude, I'm so sorry. I didn't reply to your DM yet. It's been nuts. Oh, really? Yeah, and I sent a DM. Why did I get the eggplant? That's weird. That's weird, man. I'm at that. That was for Danny, the eggplant. Oh, yeah. That's why. Now it makes sense. So my point is he never felt like Lendor welcomed him. I'm not trying to give you too much shinfo about the Mets. But let's fast forward. We have Lendor two weeks ago saying this about his relationship with Soto and the team. We've always pulled for each other. We always wanted it was best for each other. We all best friends. That's not how it works in the clubhouse. But we are friends. We get teammates. We care for each other. We love each other. We love each other. And we want the best for each other. And we have a lot of new faces here. The guys seem like they're going to work hard. And they're going to do whatever it takes to win. That's what it comes down to. It's all about winning. That's Francisco Lendor.

18:12It's all about winning. Mets and his teammates. And that's a good professional answer. A very business answer. But, you know, we don't want, it was too honest of an answer. We don't, we want to think you guys are best friends. We're not best friends. That's how you're going to win. We're not best friends. We're all professionals when we want to win. Essentially what Lendor said. We're not best friends. We're professionals and we want to win. That's pretty much him saying his relationship with Juan Soto. He's all business. Here's Juan Soto after his walkoff home run for the Dominican Republic. A listen to an animated you've never heard Juan Soto like this before. So many superstars in this team. But we play like a friend. We play like a family. We play like a team. You know, we play team baseball. Nobody wants to be the hero. Nobody wants to do more than he's supposed to do. And it's fun to play like that. We're a family. Family man. We're a family. And it's true and it shows. And when you come from that mindset and you're Juan Soto and you're dealing with a guy who's saying things like Lendor saying, I don't know. I'm not, I'm not feeling great about your Mets right now.

19:12I think the writing so it's right there in front of you. I almost feel like that was a clap back to what Lendor said. I was like, what do I call a sneak this? Like, yeah, what did he say? We're all not best friends. Everything. Hey, me here on this DR team. We're all family. And that's why we're winning. This is baseball. This is fun. No, I want to do. What's that movie from the 90s? Was it Lindsay Lone parent trap? Was that the movie? Sam? Parent trap? Beats me. Yeah, we don't watch your corny movies there. With Jamie Lee Curtis? No. That's a different movie. No, that's parents swap. I mean, not some movie. That's another video I watched. I was freaking Friday. Freaking Friday. No, there it is. No, it's not like that. The movie where someone like has to reconnect their parents. I feel like I need to do that with Lendor and Soda. Like both invite them somewhere and be like, hey guys. That's all I've been nice dinner. We're cool, right guys? Why don't you guys go on? Yes, confirm the parent trap. Parent trap. Where Lindsay Lone's trying to get her parents back together. So she like sets up a romantic date. I almost feel like someone needs to like...

20:12That's your reference to Lindsay Lone movie from 2000? Hong Kong. I can't do this. You got to have that... There it is. Yes, it's my reference. Because I think Lendor and Soda need to be parent trapped in some capacity where they have to learn to love each other. They do. If you listen to what they said right there, it's a stark contrast, man. You got different mindsets. And that also shows the different mindset between WBC and MLB. These guys are playing with pride, family, love, understanding. You know, there's so much going on there. And it's visible. It's noticeable. There's a noticeable difference. Like I said, it's cool to see that we're on the same thought. The same train track of consciousness. Everyone's noticing it. Everybody's talking about it. How come the MLB isn't exciting like that? And then there's always the default of, well, it's a long season. I don't know. I think most of the MLB or most of the teams

21:12have the same thought process as Lendor when it has to be what Soda will say in about the WBC. Did you see Lendor facetiming his Puerto Rican teammates? After their win the other day. I mean, he had a big win. He was supposed to be part of that team. Yeah. Maybe even more dangerous if he was. My buddy Rob hit us up on the chat. My buddy Rob, who's listening in Florida on the iHeart app. He said... Yo, it's definitely at least a mild dig. And he said, the thing is though. Now that we've seen Juan Soto doing the Soto shuffle and playing with this enthusiasm, it will be even more abundantly clear if he goes back this season and plays the other way. Like too much of a contrast. Yeah. Like the thing is you got to give Shohei Otani credit, Danny. For your Dodgers, like he plays consistently with that same love and enthusiasm. Whenever I've seen the guy play. Who? Shohei Otani. Yeah, yeah, for sure. Shohei Otani. Yeah. There's got Aaron Judge.

22:12I don't see a difference between his love of the game as a Yankee or Team USA. I see such a blatant difference with Juan Soto. So it's an interesting one. We'll see what happens. All these... All these Latin dudes. And the other big story if you're a Detroit Tigers fan. And I understand this. School Bull has pitched his last pitch with Team USA. He's back already training with the Tigers. He's not going to be with the team anymore. And I understand because remember, he won the arbitration deal. The biggest arbitration separation of all time. The Tigers wanted to give him like a... Then the pack... Then the Tigers wanted to give him like a pack of Cheetos and like... Like a stick of gum or something. He's like, no, I won a million of $50 million. There's the biggest arbitration difference of all time. And this is a big contract year for him. He can make probably half a billion dollars if he plays his cards right. I get, he's playing to say. He's going back to the Tigers today. All right. Well, the reminder here is Latino players are showing us a reminding us that baseball is fun. And we hope that carries into the regular season.
