Brax and Ricky return to Home and Away

0:00When Braxton Ricky hooked up on home in a way, more than a decade ago, they fast became fanfaves, sharing incredible storylines and having many memorable moments. Bar, team 2016, the pair left the bay, and we wanted if they'd ever come back. Well, the good news is, this week, in fact, today, tonight, they are back. The cops are looking for this guy. He could leave them straight to us. Not only let anyone put my family at risk, just stop! I walked away from my son for this. The event of Australia has been waiting for... ...on terrible way to go. Braxton Ricky, are back. Do you and I actually do have a lot of comedy? I guess you're right. Not so different after all. Before that... Sorry, I wasn't... Oh, well, it's very emotional. 1:01Hello. So, 10 years since you and Bonnie drive off in the Commodore. Yeah. And then you're back. Where are we going to find you tonight? Yeah. You're going to find us the complete opposite side of the country to some of you. I was saying before, they drove into the sunset and just kept going to lead the next coast on it. And, yes, set up camp there. And Braxton Ricky and Little Casey have got a good life running a cattle station, and they get a bit of a knock on the door from someone from some obeyed to see if they want to... If Braxton wants to creep back into that world, it's a bit of a jeopardy there. There is. Everything's at stake. Everything's at stake, yeah. There's no way the Commodore made that trip. Bonnie, Bonnie, it looks spectacular. What was it like to film? Because you had a pretty good location back here, of course. What was it like to film that? Oh, it was just beautiful. We got access to filming in Bullara Station, which was gorgeous. Outback meets the ocean, meets the beach. We filmed at Turquoise Bay, my new favourite beach, Yachty Creek, at the Yachty Gorge. It was just breathtaking, the most beautiful colours.

2:02Wow, it looks like the drone gets a real workout in these episodes, yeah? Yeah. Yeah, stunning sweeping shots. Hey, we've been taking through the archives, Steve. We've found your very first appearance ever on some obeyed. This is 15 years ago, if you can believe it, let's take a look. Friendly face. You did me a spitting last year. That's right, cost me four hundred bucks. What are you doing by the bar? Are you on the cover, aye? Big drug bust going down. No, I own this bar. I don't want any trouble, you understand? Don't get heavy, we're just a couple of lonely, unattached guys coming to meet some single girls. Oh, do you remember that was back in 2011? Yeah, it was good even back then. I've never been back. Ah, you never remember that. There are a lot of pauses in that delivery. I remember I was like, yeah, what's it for pausing them? I was like, because I was so nervous. I don't remember what I was supposed to say. Yeah, I remember that, I remember that very clearly. It's funny, because I was saying before Braxton he moved into some obeyed to muscle, this poor bloke,

3:02Angelo out of his pizza restaurant. And I think we probably muscleed a fourth generation cattle station owner out of his cattle station. That's what you do. That's what he does. Nobody, you're not off the hook, of course. We've got to take a look at something. But did you remember what happened on your first day? On my first day. Yeah, do you remember your first appearance? Oh, gosh, yes, I remember popping into Angelo's. Oh, let's take it. Oh, are you okay? It sounds right. I'm sorry, it's a private function. Yeah, I saw the sign. What the hell are you doing here? I see if I wouldn't rock up to a Braxton engagement party. You look great. Are you ready? Okay, you see. Oh no. Emotion. It's actually the first thing that you shot, because sometimes things are shot out of all time the way. You know. So it was actually the first thing you actually did as well. The first things I filmed were actually up on Palm Beach, I believe. Oh, I see. And then, yes, there's my first studio in studio.

4:03Wow. Yeah, crazy. 10 years. 10 years. Hey, don't you think they're going to please make this start? No way. No way, guys, we've found some more. You appear together on the cover of TV Week, many, many times. I read your first cover together way back in 2014. Look at that. Oh, gosh. Oh, look at you. Yeah. You haven't changed much. I think that's what needs to be said. No, I think I need to get my teeth wet and get in there with you. Yeah. Yeah, there you go. What is about the longevity of these characters, do you think? What is it? I don't know. I think they were really well written straight off the bat. I know, speaking personally, I think I just got very lucky to have got one of the best written characters that the show has had for a long time. And we're talking about it before. We both always came into work wanting our stuff to be really, really good. And any job you get is as good as you make it. Yeah. And we just always got in there and wanted our story to be really good. And if you ever are lucky enough to play character that finds a big audience the way these ones, for whatever reason, did, you're grateful for it.

5:05Because it doesn't happen all the time. Yeah. And this home and away audience has sort of followed us around to different jobs and it's something we really appreciate. Yeah. I think Ricky and Brax both have been through a lot in their backstory and people are barricading for them because they're working against the odds. And now that they're out starting this new life in the cattle station, they've seen a whole journey of what it took to get here to a really stable, happy place. That's relatable, right? Yeah.
