BONUS SATURDAY NIGHT: The Milwaukee Brewers Setting the Pace.... Again!!!

0:00Brewers were not missing around on Saturday night, man. They wanted action on the base pass and they got it and they're off to a 2-0 start. Yeah, special Saturday night edition, here we are at the ballpark here tonight in the Brewers. What a great crowd they had on hand for this one, 36,000, second game of the season. That's just fantastic. And the Brewers get the win six to one. Coming up here, we're going to talk about what's the Sunday starters will get you start ready for that game. Vaughn, obviously, the news earlier today, not good with Vaughn, he'll be out four to six weeks.

1:00And this game, the Brewers were really aggressive on the base paths. They went seven for seven on the base path, stealing bases. And even when they didn't get credit with stolen bases, they were always on the, they were often run it. Now, I don't know what they saw in Reese McWire, well, I know what they probably saw. They had him in camp. They had him in camp for spring, for most of spring training. Obviously, they knew something about him, where they were just going to be off to the races on him, because I thought, how's it the pitcher, Sean Burke? Well, no, because whoever the white socks brought in, they were running all day on Reese McWire, seven stolen bases, seven for seven. And like I said, they were, even when Bryce Tarrang doubled to start off the game, and he's off to a great start, we'll touch on him here in a second, even when he doubled. He was on second base, and he was, he was off and running to third, come back or to the mound, and Tarrang was already at third base, and they got the audit first base.

2:02But that was a signal right there. The billers, again, weren't messing around. They were relentless on the base paths. So scouting, obviously, and they also took advantage of the white socks making some mistakes. Now, after the game tonight, Murphy talked about the white socks, he said, yeah, you know, they're going to be a good team, they're marked by words that, you know, they're going to make some noise in their division. And I don't doubt that the white socks are going to be as bad as they were to last couple of years. I don't think so. But they showed some signs of that here tonight against the brewers. And the brewers, you know, they feast off teams like that. You make a mistake. You throw to the wrong base. That's, you're going to, the brewers are going to make you pay for that. Case at point, Bowers, single the right field. Yellowch was on his way from first to third. White socks tried to throw them out, right fielder for the white socks. Who is there right fielder? I'll pair a try throwing yellowch out was not even close. Bowers took second, Mitchell, the next hitter comes out to run single and the brewers are

3:04up three nothing. Take it a little advantage of those things right there. Putting pressure on the defense, putting teams on their heels. This is something we saw last year. This is nothing new with the brewers. This is what they do. Putting pressure on teams, making teams, making mistakes. And it seems like when a team makes a mistake, it's just not one or two. At one mistake turns into two, three or four. And the brewers are always there to take advantage. And they did it against tonight. The brewers, hey, you got to give them credit, man. They came out here in these first two games and they dominated really. Yeah, maybe in the middle part of this game looked like the white socks were going to do a few things. Maybe they get back in the game and what the brewers are up for runs. Even the white socks, the guy was growing out at home plate to end at inning. Why would you do that? I mean, the brewers never make mistakes like that. If you watch Pat Murphy's teams don't make the third out, went down a few runs at home at third base. They just don't make mistakes like that. So what happens when you have players with high baseball IQs like the brewers have, and

4:05I think that counts for stuff right here. So aggressive on the base pass being smart and taking advantage of it of a few miscues and getting a team back on its heels, that all led to the brewers six to one win. Now, also tonight, starting pitcher Chad Patrick, yeah, he wanted to go longer. He was probably going to not, he was probably going to go five headings. And they had Ash be up in the bullpen, right? Well, I feel like Ash be pitches every game. I feel like Ash be pitching every game dating back to last postseason. And that guy's, I feel like you look up at Ash be's in the ball game. And Ash be got into this ball game in the fifth inning and helped, it helped Patrick get out of a little bit of a jam there. And Patrick did not get credit it with the win because you got to go five headings. And obviously Chad wanted to stick around and not only help his team, but get credit it with the win. I thought he pitched well enough to get the win, but he didn't go to the five headings.

5:06And at this point, now they're not going to push things a little bit. Great crowd on him. Brewers get four hits in the first inning and get off to a three nothing lead and never look back and go on to a convincing win in this game. So, and by the way, how about Bryce Terang? I've been talking to you all off season about my guy Bryce Terang. He's got three doubles in two games, three doubles in two games. That guy is going to get some MVP votes. I know it's only through two games in the season, but I bet tell you, I think that guy is a budding superstar, Bryce Terang. Let's not let him leave the ballpark here. I'm not saying, not let him go back home after this game, but I'm saying, let's not let him play with anybody else, man. He needs to be a lifetime brewer. I'm telling you, this guy, and you know what, he's still getting better. We haven't seen the, we have not seen the best even yet out of Bryce Terang. It's a hard loud outs tonight as well. All right, the news on Vaughan, we've talked earlier this morning when the news first came

6:10out regarding Vaughan out four to six weeks with the broken bow and in his hand. The second brewery now to come up with a hand injury. So, let's hope that when we get to the ballpark here tomorrow on Sunday, we don't have any more of that kind of news because that's that we have a two hand injury so far and two guys out for, you know, a few weeks of the season, sure you out, they say two to four and now with Vaughan four to six. So what's going to happen here? As I talked about earlier today, Bowers is going to play some first space and Bowers played first space tonight. But you're going to see Gary Sanchez play some first space, right? Hefferson Hero is going to get into the game as a backup catcher. What Murphy was saying that there's not going to be many opportunities maybe for Hefferson because Contreras is the everyday guy. Contreras doesn't want to come out of line up. Contreras wants to catch every game and all the more reason why you love Contreras because

7:14he never wants to come out of a game. Now I wonder if on Sunday, on a Sunday game, if we'll see Hefferson make his debut on Sunday. We'll see there is a lefty on the hill for the White Sucks, which we'll get to here in a little bit. But Vaughan four to six weeks and you know what? The Brewers down two starters, but they're going to do what they do and you know what that is? They figure it out. All right? Well, while our baseball teams, they cry and they worry and the fan base worries, you know, we get down for a couple of seconds about one of our guys getting hurt, but you know the Brewers already is able to pick it up. Like last year with Churriol on the disabled list, Brewers come out and win about 14 in a row with him on the injured list. Now Vaughan and Churriol and three guys preferred starters in that rotation. Okay. Who were hampered, let's say, in spring training. I mean, we're going to see Woodruff coming up on Tuesday, but he's not able to go on opening day. So you got three of those guys, including Logan Henderson, Priester, news, good on Priester.

8:20The Brewers battle injuries with their starting pitchers, they've battled, they got two starters out and they've come out against two game and beaten the White Sucks twice. And though again, he can't say, and I've seen this already. Some people have written me and DMs already after the game said, Chuck, they're beating the White Sucks. No. And I'm with Murph. Murph was propped up the White Sucks, but I don't think he was, he was all that wrong on that, right? I mean, you're not going to never tell him. You're never going to degrade your opponent. But the White Sucks are on the rise and they do have some talent out there. Are they going to win 93 games? No. Are they going to factor in the divisional race? Probably not. But the Brewers went out there and did what they had to do. Don't say, well, they've only beaten the White Sucks. No, the Brewers have gone out and did what they've had to do here in these first two games. That's win games. I've got Garrett Mitchell, two stolen bases. Garrett Mitchell, two stolen bases, two hits as well. And you know that center field spot is under watch from Murphy.

Lockbridge started in left field today. Hamilton's got some speed. Saw it up close today, man.

12:27Hamilton can run the bases. Started over at third today. And because that Bowers was over at first base, those were kind of the differences that I noticed in the lineup today. Not really differences. But the what stood out for me in the lineup, there's a lefty going around. We're going to get the ad coming up here in a little bit. By the way, I was talking about the first base spot. Renifold couldn't see some first space as well. Sanchez, both guys were working over there pregame over at first base. Renifold and Sanchez. And we can see both of those guys playing some first base. We saw Lockbridge during the exhibition games. Get some pregame work over there. So we'll see if they use him. He was out in left field tonight, but who knows. All right. The Brewers will send out Brandon Sprout, one of the players they got in return for Freddie Peralta Sprout.

13:27I thought I had a terrific spring training. He's got some good stuff. Can throw in here 100. We're going to see. He's probably not going to do it tomorrow, obviously. But let's see what he's got. I'm looking forward to him. These next two starts with the Brewers have on the mound with Sprout and Harrison on Monday, both making their brewery debuts. Really looking forward to that. Anthony Kay's a left hander for the White Sox. A 31 years old, kind of a journeyman, just the kind of guy who's given the Brewers trouble in the past, right? So we'll see what he's got for Milwaukee Brewers. Obviously, we'll have the right hand in hitting line up up out there against Anthony Kaye when they take the mound tomorrow. Beautiful night to be out here and watch some Brewers baseball, and especially get the win. And now the good news, Quinn Priester sounds like he's on track for early May. He's going to throw into the bullpen session, then get sent out to Arizona, and they're thinking maybe early May for Quinn Priester, all good news right there. Man, we could use some good news, right?

14:28Because we had the bad news with Cheerio on Thursday morning, the bad news on Saturday morning, regarding our first base of an Andrew Vaughan, but the good news, Priester on the mend, sounds like early May, and the Brewers are 2-0, looking forward to sweep.
