Whatever the moment, it's never ordinary at bet365. Welcome in. Hawks lose in Pittsburgh six to to the penguins. This was bad start to finish. I said on Twitter, I usually take pride in being the voice of reason. And I left my voice of reason pants at home. Have at it, because there is, there is no no turd to polish on this on this game. It was awful. It was awful. They had a fine start to the game, got out to a one nothing lead, immediately gave up a goal less than two minutes later. And from then it was all penguins. And you know, Nick Filippo plays two shifts and goes down
and the Hawks fall apart. If Nick Filippo is this valuable to the Blackhawks, nothing against him, but that's a big problem. I mean, Nick Filippo doesn't play defense. I no one does this clearly. I really am befuddled by this type of performance because we've talked about this season like the Blackhawks not, you know, some, you know, they've been outplayed in games. They haven't been categorically outworked in many games. Maybe the Buffalo game you hang up there. Yeah. But man, they were just outworked, out G A F. And it's as much the actual execution tonight as it is between the years. And I just, I feel like they gave up. So the, what was it? The three one goal that goes in and then
30 seconds later, it was four one. Yeah. Right. So they gave us a three one goal. And that really, the way the game had been going at that point, the penguins were pushing and Hawks needed to try and find a way to respond. And you give up the three one goal. It's not a great play between, between Kaiser and Levchenov. And they stay out on the ice, right? They're still out there. You got to be able to respond and kind of, that's one of those moments where you got to snap out of it. And they absolutely didn't. And they break down again and let Anthony Manta burst through with speed. Oh, no, if that sentence has ever been said before, no one in speedster, Anthony Manta, and wolves right through him goes right between them. Kaiser did kind of have to scramble on the play, but still like, it's just, just the, the theme of the night was the lack of urgency, the lack of execution, the lack of situational awareness, just a complete lacking effort across
the board, which has been uncommon for this group. And it just makes it really disappointing, given the, the, the, the opportunity that they had in the last game against Minnesota two, like that one slipped away. This one slipped away way earlier in the game and way further away from them than the Minnesota game. So it's really disappointing. And there's no one person to blame in this one, but you can go through the statutes and, and kind of find out across the board. Why a Kaiser and arm left job minus five, really bad game for left and off. Like you mentioned, Kaiser's kind of wasn't great either, but I feel if you're going to blame one of those two on the pair, it was left and off tonight. Kind of a dark start of the forehead, six shots, shot attempts in the first period, and then the game was seven. So really didn't do much at all in terms of shot attempts until he scored that goal. Great goal. 66 passes at the old check for most goals for a hawk before the age of 21, which is great. But didn't matter.
It was, it was, it was crap top to bottom. And you saw guys just completely checked out. And that is not something that I don't even think in the Buffalo game. They had completely just checked out of the game where it was like, yeah, the score got crazy. And everything was going in for the sabers. And there was a little bit of that tonight. Let's be honest, because sorry, Bloom wasn't good either who also played that Buffalo game. Yes. But when you have games like that, where it's like, okay, well, everything's going in the net. So it just is one of these nights. Tonight, I saw a team that had a chance to get back in it down three to one that put no fight up at that point, no fight. And that is really concerning. Yeah, I mean, you can't, you can't, you can't look for the exit door in any game. And you know, you're, you're on the two game road trip. You got, there's a lot of disappointed moms on the flight back to Chicago tonight. And you don't want to have that kind of effort in this game in any game really.
But especially in this game, when you have this special road trip going on, when you've been playing pretty decently on the road in, in recent efforts. So you kind of want that to continue. And then it's game one of, of back to backs. They looked like the team that played this looked like a team that had played three games in three days. Like they do in the age, all sometimes. And this was night three, but it was night one of back to back. So you come home tomorrow and you play the Blue Jackets, who they're not a pushover. So good luck with that. I mean, you get Spencer night and goal. That should help you. But you're going to have to have a complete turnaround in, in effort and mentality from tonight to tomorrow to trying, trying, get a positive result out of it because this is an effort that like if you don't, if you don't nip it in the butt right away, can snowball in the wrong direction. Even with the Olympic break a few days away, you don't want to go on a losing streak into that extended break and feel like crap for basically a full month. I don't know. First period, Hawks have a nine eight shot lead. Second period, 23 to
six disadvantage, 13 to four and a third shot attempts in this game at five on five, 75 to 33 for the penguins. That is a 69 nice point, four, four percent, coursey percentage. Uh, that is just getting your ass whooped up and down the ice high danger chances for 19 to eight scoring chances for 40 to 20. The penguins had 40 scoring chances. And that's the one that Jeff Flash will always says that he values. Uh, it all strikes 4627. Well, let's let's see what their internal numbers say could be different expected goals for for the penguins 5.54. Yeah, it's they got worked. That's they got work. Yeah. And like the credit to the penguins, like they're playing above expectations this year. If you heard the pregame show, we, you, well, you talked with Joe Brand to kind of preview the matchup and everything. And
um, you know, they just kind of talked about like the guys that they've brought in and the moves at Caldois is made on a team that everyone thought would be selling everything. Um, they've all clicked. Yep. And you said, you know, I don't want to jinx it, but it doesn't seem like the black hawks allow stars to beat them all that often. They didn't. And on the broadcast, they brought up the fact that Sydney Crosby in his career has the fewest or lowest points per game pace of any team in his career against the black hawks. So historically, in Sydney Crosby's career, the black hawks have held him in check the most. I think he had a point tonight. I don't think he had a point. Did he get like, I thought he had like an a secondary assist? Nope. No, it was a minus one. Nothing. Bum. So you leave it up to, so you leave it up to, uh, who was it? Mantha had a multi point game. Uh, I think it was rookie Ben Kindle had a multi point game. I counter. Do we have a multi point? Do we have to have three points? Blake was on
had two points. No, a chariot. Two points. Ben Kindle had two points. None of those guys are anywhere near Sydney Crosby. So it was, it was a committee of depth players destroying the hawks tonight. Like that's if you go, if you go six, two and lose in this effort and Sydney Crosby has four points and Malkin looks like the Malkin of old. He shrugged your shoulders. You go, uh, two of the best ever beat us, but you're getting beat by like the depth players. Like that's what thinks about it. Well, yeah. And look, like, it's, I also think like if, if, you know, Crosby, you know, but you're Crosby and Malkin are just going to get there. And you can't stop them and you do your best. They did not do their best tonight. Chinatown. This is a team that was absolutely checked out. Yeah. They were checked out as soon as they got down three to one, it could have been a hundred to one. It wouldn't have mattered. It's just absolutely inexcusable. This performance site. It really is. There's not a ton to say about it. There's really not. They came out and gave you 10 minutes of good hockey. And that was it. And they were done. And maybe that was enough. And I just don't understand how, especially in front
of your mothers, you can lay that like really. I know like when the game charts are probably not thinking about it. Right. But holy cowly, you're probably entering the game feeling good. You've been spending the entire week with your moms like, got some energy. You're doing good team bonding things. No. And this is what happens. You blow a three nothing lead Minnesota. You get your ass wax six two in Pittsburgh. And now you're coming back to play the Columbus Blue Jackets who always seem to give the Hawks Fitz winner lose. And it's just really it's incredibly aggravating, incredibly aggravating. Yeah. It's it's it's frustrating. And and I think it's I think too that the firmly at least the frustration comes from the feeling that like, you know, we've seen better performances. And across the board, like we've seen games where Conor Bredard has been, you know, a guy that's been able to take over a game. We've seen games where Oliver Moore is effective all over the ice. We've seen games where Tyler Bertuzzi is, uh, you know, a big
big factor. And it just seemed like everybody tonight top to bottom was either a ghost or was just egregiously bad. And it's frustrating because it's it's just like they're it's still kind of felt to me at least that, you know, if you if you get some points, you get some wins, going into the Olympic break, you feel good about yourself and you're thinking, okay, when we come back from Olympic break, you know, the trade deadlines coming up, sure, we're going to be sellers. But if you have the guys that are going to be around, um, playing good hockey and pushing things forward, you might be on the trade deadline. Feel like, hey, we might have a few games that actually mean something. And I feel like every performance that we've had the last couple of days where they let a lead slip away or they get run tonight, um, it just makes that feeling kind of feel a little bit more empty. And that, you know, the quote unquote games with that matter kind of
thing, not to say that they're going to be in a playoff push, but just to be like, hey, we're not mathematically out of it. And you're going up against teams that might be fighting for playoff spots. And you can you can, you know, try and make things even harder on those teams. And that makes that's better experience for you as a team that's going to be mostly young guys by the end of the trade deadline, um, to get that to get that experience. I, you know, I'm just, uh, look, I, I think that the love shot of conversation to might be time for reset for him and rockford. Um, you know, you're starting to see game after game after game of a getting worse. And what we have been talking about when he was playing better was, okay, you know, those flashes are there. You see him making good plays. You see him, um, being a net positive in the game, he looks completely lost. And look, it's understandable for a 20 year old defenseman to be feeling a little bit overwhelmed
right now. He's playing a ton of minutes. He's on the ice all the time. He's on the power play. He's got a lot of responsibility. It might be time to just give him a breather. To me, it doesn't indicate anything about his ceiling down the road or his future or it's saying that he's a bus or not. I don't think it says that at all. But I think to say, hey, this 20 year old defenseman that's played more than he's ever played in his life is a little bit overwhelmed right now, makes perfect sense. But they've got to be realistic. You've got to look at this thing and say, is the best thing in this, this is for any young player. Is the best thing for him right now to sit up here and get caved in and to be minus five and to be, uh, derided every night, uh, for performances. Like, is right now having Art of Life Shop in the NHL serving his development best? I don't, I really don't think that's the case. I cannot make that justification right now. I mean, you've had, uh, Sam Ranzell go through similar, uh, earlier this year and and get sent down.
I mean, he obviously was someone that they were, uh, putting a lot of eggs in the basket early on. He's still featured on the pregame videos for the pump up stuff and, you know, I think the Hawks expected him to not go to the AHL as early as he did or at all. And he did. And I think that that's, um, fine. That's part of that's part of development. I think Lev Shinov again was also in that vote of like we expect him to be in NHL or all year and sometimes plans don't go as you expected. Um, so I think the way that the Black Hawks have used Rockford in recent years has been as an actual development grounds and actual like here, we're in some lessons, fix your game and, and get back to the level and the NHL that we want you to be in. They've done it with other guys before. Um, so if what we've seen recently from Lev Shinov is, is I think bad habits creeping
back into his game. Um, I, I think that something that could be, you know, a message sending move, to everybody, but especially some of the young guys is, if you send them down and, and I would say maybe internally say and like, Hey, we need some urgency in our game and, and our already has been guilty of a lack of urgency at times. And I think that was probably the case tonight. And it creeped crept into everybody's game tonight. There was a lack of urgency, uh, across the board in tonight's game that I didn't like. So I can use that messaging and I don't think is what you're not saying that it's obviously not on Art of Lev Shinov to motivate his teammates. That's how just to be clear, you're not saying that because of Lev Shinov's lack of effort, it, no, but what you're saying is show that when there is a lack of effort, there will be a consequence. Right. He's been guilty of it before. And, and the other guys that are going to be here, um, need to know that that's that, that's not going to tolerate it. All right. We've got to give out

Thanks for the likes. We appreciate that big time. Lots of those. We got some post game quotes rolling in. The big one here and no update on Nick Flingo's injury. I don't want to speculate, but usually when there's no update, it's not wonderful. Yeah, not not awesome. But I mean, hopefully it's nothing too serious. We know that he's had the the wrist injury. I didn't really see anything on the broadcast that I can recall of like, oh, Flingo got knocked or blocked. I can't remember. But he only took two, what two shifts. So I mean, yeah, it played like a minute. Yeah. So that'll be interesting to see someone in the chat also is morning scene. Yeah, someone in the chat also brought up her Tuesday. I know he finished the game, but he also took a shot off the leg where the patting is not really very abundant.
So that'll probably bruise up nicely. But hopefully he's fine to go to. We know that they've got extra bodies. Yeah, when it's like. So doc could play in Sam Laffer. He's been sitting for a very, very, very long time. If you need to get those guys in, that's fine with Flingo out. But like I guess, I hopefully it's nothing serious because obviously this team seems to for whatever reason perform better when he is around, even just healthy and on the bench. So it's like just as present a lot of times games don't go crazy. What's that? He's chocolate cake. Please save that for later. I can't get into that right now. Yeah. And here's the thing. You are trading theoretically. You based on reports from Frank Sair Valley, who seems to be the most connected to the Hawks. You're trading at least Dickinson and at least Murphy at the deadline here.
Makes the most sense. It does. And I agree with it. You should do it. But is there a concern that you're losing all this veteran leadership now? And it's, you know, I, it's not making a difference. They were there tonight and they didn't show up. So I guess it doesn't matter. I guess it's not, it's not really the factor we thought it was. Well, I don't know. I mean, I mean, yeah, you're, you're trading likely two of the guys that are part of your leadership group, Murphy and Dickinson. Two of the guys that have been, you know, have the most NHL games under their belt belt in this locker room. But part of the growth of this team is the younger players stepping up and taking on larger roles in that factor, not only on the ice, but also off. So you look to a guy like Alex Flasak, who's reaching close to 300 games played, you know, Conor Bernard. Obviously, this is your
three of him in the NHL. Frank Nazar is a guy that's got a voice in the locker room and is starting to grow a presence as an NHL player. So like Spencer Knight, like, those are the guys that are going to start kind of taking over that room. And that's, that's part of what the rebuild is. It's passing in the keys to the kids and having them grow up in the NHL. So, and you still have Bertuzzi, you still have Denato, you know, you still have those guys around. So it's not purely 20-year-olds, early 20s guys that are just kind of figuring out the lead. There's still some of those guys that have been around that you can lean on as veterans. But I think the leadership is going to go through an evolution. And I really don't think that Felino is going to be traded. I don't, I don't get that sense. I don't think so. So you can still, in theory, have him around as the season ends when you
expect guys like Frontel and potentially Boaveir and make, you know, potentially Spellisier Vanacker or whatever depends on how their seasons go. But you can still have a guy like Nick Fleen or round when those guys get to the NHL and kind of be that like on, probably on his way out the door, be the guy that's still like the team dad and the team older brother and kind of help that transition for some of those younger players. Well, in some young players got to do it, too. You know, somebody's got to, someone's got to, this is, you know, you were the A. Yeah, but Dard is a guy that sooner rather than later is going to be a permanent fixture of leadership for this black. And I'll say this too, like the room itself is young player dominated. They are the loudest, the loud ones, they are the ones that are sort of commanding everything. They're, you know, and I mean, the veterans are more, and I think this is more of a, you know, a personal personality thing from these guys like of the veterans they have Murphy will speak when spoken to.
He's not saying they're sulking, but he's not like a loud overbearing locker room presence. No, no. Felino is the one who offers to talk is sort of vocal, but when we're in there, it is almost only the kids you can hear. A lot of the kids are very, very loud. But it costs you can be loud if you're asking him about is a cabinet, a door. But yeah, he can't be. But again, like, I mean, that's kind of an indictment against him because I'm naming veterans who we're going to be here next year. And I didn't even think of Berkowski. That's how much of a ghost he's been recently. Yeah. Well, I mean, becoming Nikita Zaitsev for me. I forget that he's on this team. He was the second lowest rated player on a game where you got caved the FN. It's not good. Jason Dickinson was the lowest rated seven shot attempts for 29 against Berkowski five shot attempts for 19 against. This is a five on five. Going from worst to second to worst, third
to worst, et cetera, Dickinson Berkowski, more McCay of green Murphy, Kaiser, Nazar, Bertuzzi, Gridslake, Tara Vinein, Lev Chanel, Vlasek, Krevy, Abidard, Denato, Doc Felino. So Felino, in 118, three shot attempts for zero again. He's a hundred percent horsey. Yes. Doc was an even 50. Denato was 48.28. And then after that, Bidard is the next highest with 35.29, Krevy, Abidard, Vlasek, Lampshinov. There you go. Yeah. I think we're going to see that shift even more, especially after the shade deadline. We're going to see this locker room and this team trend even younger. And it's going to be that learning curve for the off the ice stuff, that the guys that have been here for a few seasons that are the young group, they're going to have to be the ones to kind of set the tone. Yes. And I want to see who that's going to emerge and be because it's,
who do you feel of the young players is 100% NHL from here on out? It's Bidard. It's Nazar. It's Vlasek. I think pretty much everybody and probably Kaiser. Yeah. In terms of young guys who will not spend another moment in Rockford, I think everybody else. Yeah. You know, that's right. I think more has a shot to go back. I don't think I'm not saying he should. But I don't think it's out. No, of course not. But it's not the question that a month from now or two months from now that he gets in a real bad slump and is feeling a pressure too. And they give him a breather. Ryan Green, same thing. Even though I think he's been overall pretty damn good. Cold dock is already on the outside looking in most nights. Lev Chanel, we've talked about tonight. Yeah. So those are your young guys that you see as part of the long-term future of this team. And I think Nazar, Bidard, Kaiser and Vlasek are the four that you're saying. Okay, we know these four. We can check that box. Now what level they'll all reach remains to be seen.
But by the way, I saw some conversation about Frank Nazar and look, the goal scoring is not been there. We know that. But I'm looking back at the 2022 draft. He has 44 points. It's probably 46. I don't know if this has been updated. So if it is 46, only Pavel Minchikov, who has played almost 80 more games than Nazar, he's got four more points and 80 more games. Marco Casper has 63 points and 131 games. When we're getting into comparisons here, David Urichek has 44, I'm sorry, I'm looking at the market area. My bad, Nazar has 48 points. Minchikov 61, Casper 49, Cutter Gochie 92, Shane Wright 69, Logan Cooley, probably the best player of that draft. I think 132 and Yorosolikowski has 152 points. So if you're comparing him to that
class, when you're looking at points per game's played, he's right up there towards the top. So I get the goal scoring thing is concerning, but like we always say, worry when the chances dry up, he didn't have many tonight. But over the last three or four games, you have seen the scoring chances there for him. So I'm not worried about Frank Nazar. I don't know what I don't know what his ceiling is. I don't know if he's a second round or second, you know, a second line center for the rest of his career. But I'm very confident that he will be a dependable NHL player for a really long time. Yeah, I'm not I'm not doubting that at all. And I think this season, you know, you can kind of see some of the ups and downs that he's gone through in his in his play. He's had injury issues, not only the job, but also whatever was ailing him in his in his hip. You know, those are those are tough things for for a young guy to to go through. And you know, this is his first full NHL season. There's a lot of, you know, grind of the year kind of stuff.
Like he's still young. He's what just turned 22, I think. Like it's it's it's still like it's not an overnight, you know, snap your fingers like I just did and things all click. Like it take it takes some time. And for a guy who's, you know, never really been short on confidence, um, it can be it can be hard sometimes to feel like, okay, I'm I'm I'm definitely going through some struggles. I'm not playing the way that I normally do. Um, you know, then you kind of start looking like, is it something on the ice I can fix? Is it something off the ice? I got to change do I got to change up my pregame meal? Do I got to, you know, move my pregame nap time up in an hour or whatever? Like you start kind of like going through those, um, those kinds of thoughts and looking at, you know, how you can how you can try and change things up. And it's for a guy that a lot is on his shoulders to produce and be productive for this team. And he's going to be a
guy that's going to play an important role. Um, that can be that can be challenging. So I, I don't doubt that he's going to have the talent to be able to pull himself out of it. It's just he's got to find it. He's got to find that thing that's going to help him, um, feel like he can kind of get past that, uh, that, that block a little bit. And I'm sure scoring a goal is going to do wonders for him. Yeah, just to correct the stat. I was my eyes were playing tricks. I mean, I was looking at the hell eight minutes category, which is right next to points. He's got 50 points in 94 games. Uh, so yeah, he's, he's right here. Okay. I mean, yeah, that's, I'm for for for where he's at right now and and where you expect him to be. Um, I think that's, that's totally reasonable. And we saw with the extension that he got, I don't know, no one was worried about that when that was signed and announced and everything. And I don't think anyone is actually worried that, oh, no,
is he not going to be able to live up to the, I think he absolutely will. It's just things take some time to play out. And nights like tonight, obviously, they stink. I were back on CHU black. We have updated stats, things that mean the other bowls guys are screaming today ending and why. Yes, updated stats points for game 2022 draft, where franays are with drafted lane Hudson first, point eight, nine points per game, Logan Cooley second point seven, one cutter, gochi, point six, eight, your ice love Kowski point six, one and franays are point five, three. So he has fifth on
that list. He is the only player on that list to play under a hundred games. The next closest is gochi with 135 NHL games played, which is why we wanted him at pick number seven originally. Yes. So Frank is right where you would want to be and probably a little bit above. Yeah, because he is nine spots higher than his drafts lot. Yeah. And in some of those guys, it was directly into the NHL. And I mean, look, like a guy like Safkowski was not day one game breaker for. Yeah, it took him a while from Montreal took, took him some time to come some development. And Shane Wright. Shane Wright is still developing. Right. You know, Logan Cooley, like took, you know, he took some time as well. Like it wasn't, I think the only guy that I think stepped on the NHL ice and was like, wow, was lane Hudson. Yeah. Who he's small, he can't be good. Yeah, he's too small to be to be good in the NHL. Possibly from what other people have said. Um, but yeah, I mean, it's, it's, it's,
the patience is running thin. Obviously, um, you can see from Hawks fans in our chat, Hawks fans online, Hawks fans, when you talk to them at games and in the atrims and, and, and all that, like, you saw Ben Pope today put out a, uh, in official on, on official, uh, informal poll about the rebuild. How do you think the rebuild is going three, four years into it? Is it going right on pace? Is it going too fast? Is it going too slow? Too fast. Too fast. Got more votes than I thought. What does that mean? Yeah. That's what I was wondering. And I said, I commented, I said too quickly. Um, yeah, I, I, I want to speak to the people who earnestly think the Black Hawks rebuild is going too quickly. Um, but you can see like, you know, it's, it's still a majority think people believe that, you know, the rebuild plan is going how it should, 62.3% say right pace. But I think a grown, I think if you would ask last year,
that number of it's taking too long would have been a little bit lower. I think it's growing. Yeah. As, as time is going on and, um, you can't say like, oh, it's a, you know, be patient. It's a 10-year process. One, that's not really true. Um, but two, like, no one's going to sign up for that. And I think how Davidson has gone into this with a multi-year plan. It wasn't going to be fixed overnight just by drafting Conradard. Um, it was going to take time. And this is the time that it has taken. And I think if, if by next year, you know, you're going to have still a very young core of players. And you're still going to have growing pains from that young core of players. I think the, the hope and the thought is that more of the young players that you, that you have are going to be guys that are out of the growing pain process. You hope. Obviously, we're not there yet with Adam Levchenov. Um, still not there with Frank Nasar, Conradard. I think he's out of the, oh, these are young guy
growing pains. I think he's out of this year three. And he's, and he's more, he's, he's categorically more talented than anyone else on this roster. And he's been had a much better season than he has before too. Right. So I think by next year, the hope is that, you know, those guys get to a point where you're not talking about growing pains as frequently. And the guys that you are are like Anton Frontel and, uh, trying to think who else, who else next year is going to be like year one NHL, where you think, oh, that probably shouldn't be going, we'll be going through growing pains because I wouldn't put, no, he still has to officially sign and come over and play. I would not expect that from Roman Kansarov, who's played I think four seasons in the cage. Yeah. I mean, there'll be an adjustment to the lifestyle. Yeah, they'll be an adjustment, but I think you used to, once you get to play in hockey, I, I hope we're not worried about how his game translates because from everything we've seen and heard out of him out of Russia, like he should be plug and play going to the NHL. You would
think so. You'd hope. And I think, you know, Frontel will be a guy who comes in and is good right away and that he won't be obviously maximized. No. But I think the other thing too that we're losing sight of still is there's really one guy that other teams worry about on this team. And that's kind of hard, right? Right. I think teams are very happy to say, if we eliminate 98 for this game, chances are we're going to win or we're going to have a good chance to win. So as these guys, not only, uh, develop when you're talking about more, you're talking about largest Nasar when you start adding Frontel and you start adding Cantor. I've guys that have shown, hey, big stage, you know, Cantor was lighting up a league full of men. Uh, Frontel is doing really well in Sweden. So like you saw them dominate the world junior championships. So all the things you want to see lead you to believe that those are going to be guys. Even if they're not superstar, Hall of Fame, number retired Black Hawks, they're going to be guys that make a difference. And
guys, you had to worry about. So it's coming. I had this conversation yesterday on the score. It's like this all kind of happened backwards where Taves and Kane arrived after Keith and Seabrook and all those in Buffalo and in Browar and all those guys had been developing with no one watching them because the Hawks were a complete, they weren't even on TV. So he couldn't have you wanted to. Right. And a lot of it happened in Rockford. So then as those in Norfolk, as these complimentary pieces and Keith and Seabrook, those are not complimentary pieces for the record, but as the complimentary pieces were developing, then they added the two final pieces in the same mere boom, boom, they come in and they're off to the races right away. Ideally, if you could draw this up perfectly, if you can go, uh, what is that? I know where to report me or shift everything along the board. You would get Lev Shinov in 23, right? You got Nasar 22 Lev Shinov in 23. You've got these young guys playing and developing. And then when those guys hit their stride, boom,
then you had counterbidard of that final piece. It didn't work that way. And let's remember that before the Hawks even drafted counterbidard, our friend, uh, uh, uh, Peter's Chris Peter said, but Dar takes a year off the back of the rebuild, right? He doesn't end it. He doesn't, you know, accelerate. He takes a year off the back end. Yeah. So it's just, look, rebuilds are hard and they suck and there's nights like this where you want to put your head through the TV screen. I totally get it. But I just think, I guess my voice, the reason pants have arrived, uh, overnight shipping, um, the state of the rebuild is okay. And, and I saw one of our very good chatters, uh, Edward said, like none of these prospects are guaranteed to work out. And that's true. But all you can do to make yourself believe or feel better, or if you don't want to feel better, don't, I'm not going to force you to do that. But look at how they're performing in their respective leagues.
But Accur. Leading the OHL and goals. Yeah. Cancer off. We've been talking about these guys. We don't have to write off the names every time. You know what we're talking about. All of them are at the top of their leagues at the top of the level they're playing in. So will that translate to the NHL? We don't know that. But would you rather have them doing not as well? Or they're at like, that's, that you want to see them doing well. And then they come here and you see how good they do. And I think Frank Nazar is a good point that where Frank Nazar was not, like, lighting up college hockey. He was a good scorer, but he wasn't like, he was, yeah, he was high, but it wasn't like he missed high post of his freshman year with the injury. So that kind of stunk, uh, and probably put him behind a season in development. But he was a point for game. Yeah, point for game for, uh, from Michigan. Like that's, that's pretty darn good. Um, and then was, oh, just over a point for game in the NHL before getting called up. Um, he was,
with your last season, right? 24 and 21. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, I mean, he's, he's at, at the levels that he's been at, he's been a guy that's been pretty quality, um, pretty top of the, the, the stat sheets and everything. So yeah, I mean, at what Kyle Davidson had to do was completely restock a prospect system that had been gutted by the previous regime that gutted it because they were trying to go for Stanley Cups and they were successful three times. Um, but that came at a cost of, you know, you're giving up first round picks and you're drafting later in rounds and, you know, you're at the end of the, the Bowman tenure, you were drafting Kirby doc and Adam Boquist and throwing them into the NHL way before they should have been and you had, you had no development plan. It was just their young, their top picks. So they go to the NHL and they figure it out. And then those guys were completely, yeah, stunted by that. Um, so this process,
I think is probably new to a lot of Black Hawks fans because they, we didn't experience it this way when it was the early to mid 2000, right? There was no like attention to elite prospects and, you know, watching Dave Bolin play in the NHL or anything like that. Like there, there wasn't that level unless you were a die hard, die hard, die hard in the weeds hockey fan at that time. Yeah, because that's how you had to go. That's basically how you had to consume that kind of information. Going back to your point about Russian guys and ruining them, I am approaching that spot with Laptop because it's been so badly lately. I just, I don't want it to happen to him. And look, like we can go back and, and, and relitigate the Kevin Corchinsky stuff too. It was either Seattle or Chicago. There was no other option. And I still think ultimately it's the right move. But if Kevin Corchinsky doesn't pan out, that is a question they're going to have to answer for a long
time. And Brian Magnuson and Chad said, like, we were all told that Jack Skilley was going to be great. And we were told that all these other draft picks were going to be good. There's no, no team. That's a thousand on draft picks, which is why Kyle Davidson has made it his priority to stockpile draft picks, especially first round picks. His first draft, he had zero when they woke up in the morning, ended up with three. And last year, he traded into the first round twice, right? Like, he is aggressive in moving up and getting those picks. So the more first round picks you have, the better off you're going to be. Remember, Duncan Keith was a second round pick. Dustin Bufflin was picked in a round. It doesn't exist anymore. Look what you're getting from Louis Crevier. Look what you're getting from Ryan Green. Look what you got from Andrew Shaw. Like, it's not always like you pick this guy here. And these will be your best guys in order. They're all lottery tickets at this point. All of those are third round pick. Yes. Right. So it is, it's a lottery pick. There's more two at two than just like some guys get pumped more. Some guys play for more prestigious organizations. So they have more eyes on them. Some people have
better agents. So they get more hype ahead of the draft. There's a lot that goes into it. Some teams have thicker scouting staves than others, right? So it's, there's a lot more to it than just like all the first round picks have to be homeruns that never happens for anyone. All right. Get hit the break zone. And we are going to hear from Blaschle and from counter Murphy coming up next. They've been serving the serving of the community since 1963 together. Let's drive. All right, we're back on CHCO Blackhawks. Before we get to Jeff Flash on counter Murphy, we are going to do overtime today. We're going to talk about Patrick Kane broke Mike McDonald's record. He is now the all time leading US born score. So we got to throw Blackhawks legend as flowers, of course. So after we hear from Blash and Murf and we do our game pucks, we'll talk about counter Bernard. So here is Jeff Flash. Oh, oddly lit courtesy. What do you feel like happened there in that second? Second was bad. We, you know, I mean, I thought we were fine in the first. I didn't think our compete level in the first was even to the level of was the other
night. But then in the second, I just thought we didn't compete hard enough to be honest with you. We just lost to many stick battles. We just ended up defending way too much. You know, when you lose stick battles, lose stick races, you turn pucks over to the blue, you defend a bunch and they spread us out and won one battles in front. So it just wasn't too many guys. We're good enough. Lebson, I've seen like you had a number of things go wrong. How would you assess his performance? No, I didn't think he played good. You know, I didn't, obviously him and, you know, the pairing, it was a tough night, you know. So he's got a rebound and played better now. That's part of the kind of roller coaster that we, you know, that we expected to see for young defenseman. And sometimes, you know, it's a hard position in this league. And, and you, you know, he's, you know, kind of trial by fire. And he's just going to have to continue to learn through these experiences. And I think he's played lots of good hockey and tonight wasn't as good. Is that something you talked to him about during the game, or do you wait till half the night?
That's probably more after, you know, there's moments we teach all through the game. So it just depends on which part of it you're talking about. But we'll, we'll, we'll, we'll chat tomorrow. Would you, anything to team's confidence over on us taking the hay every side? Yeah, I mean, I don't think, you know, I would say kind of, you know, I think there's a number of individuals that aren't feeling it right now. And, and so that hurts your team's confidence because the individual makeup of your players aren't as confident, you know, so we got to get some swagger back. But the only way to get that back is to earn it. You know, and that's the one thing we got to understand. Like we, you can't feel sorry for yourselves. You got to go through and earn, you know, that kind of swagger back. And we, you know, he starts by earning it individually as a, as a, as a guy. And then, and then kind of building that from the team perspective. I know your hands are tight a little bit with six defenseman and early in the scene, you'd sit someone just to give them a chance to some of you and Kyle Discos, just what's best developed. Not only for some of these guys right now, and you know, we're left and off just maybe resetting this away. Yeah, I mean, we'll, we'll continue to evaluate as we, as we keep going. Again,
he's played, you know, some, some good games that the last game was good. So, you know, we, we understood there was going to be a bit of a rollercoaster with this younger D-Core. And, you know, and tonight was, you know, there's certainly moments of the low end of that rollercoaster. But, again, we're kind of, you know, learning through, uh, through going through it and trial by fire a little bit, and we'll continue to evaluate to determine what's the best decision for that. What do you see from Conor Bernard? Oh, I thought he was very good. I thought he had another night where he was really, really good to be honest with you. And, uh, you know, good for him to get rewarded at the end, even though, you know, it was, it was late in the game. I still think it was good for him to get rewarded because he's had tons of chances. And, you know, when guys are playing good, you want him to get rewarded at some point. And I think he stayed with it. He hasn't cheated for offense, even though it hasn't come as much as he'd like. And, uh, I thought he was honest. I thought he was probably excellent. You have an update on Polina? Uh, I didn't finish the game. Look at it tomorrow. Uh, I can't, I'm not saying he will not play tomorrow. Um, but, you know, we're just unknown whether he'll play tomorrow. All right. That is Jeff Blastel courtesy of
the Black Hawks. Um, mentioned the rollercoaster with left now. That's a term that we've used a lot this year. Um, and that's where we're definitely seeing it. Um, I'm a little support. Well, I guess I'm not surprised. I thought maybe he'd be a little more harsh. Um, but he really hasn't done that this year. He's kind of, he's been pretty level headed post games and, you know, when we think, oh, man, tonight he's really going to go off and it just really hasn't happened. We've seen him do it in practice. We've seen him go off. We've seen him stop things and sternly yell at the team. And maybe that's what he saves it for video sessions and practices. Yeah. Um, I don't know. It's, uh, it's going to be interesting. And the Filippo thing didn't sound so bad. In the audio is it did on text. If you said I'm not saying he's not playing tomorrow, doesn't make it sound like it's anything long term. So, I don't know. I don't want to speculate. Let's see what happens. All right. Why don't we go here from counter Murphy before we move on to Game Pucks and our kind of our Patrick Kintok. What, uh, what you see in the second there?
This thing period. Uh, we just, I don't know, I feel like we shot ourselves in the foot with some of our puck play. Uh, you're responsible with breakouts by us coming over and then even getting across their boo line. And then it turned into us, uh, having a lack of compete kind of overall man-to-man. Um, so that's the hardest part, uh, giving up those goals and chances for SOTY, knowing that we didn't compete the way we should. It seems like that's been maybe unusual to see your work. It's kind of bad games, but you guys feel like you've still, you know, pushed in them at least. Why do you think that wasn't there today? I'm not sure. I don't know, uh, an exact answer to that. I think sometimes on the road, it's a little harder. Um, when the momentum's going against you to push back. But that's the test that we have to overcome is, uh, do it at home enough where we have some bad momentum, uh, bad plays and then we're able to shift it back. And today we didn't do that. Uh, so maybe take any, there's a lesson or just as a wake up call, um, for each guy on our team to know that
that can't happen. And, uh, yeah, these games are so important that we can't just crumble and give ourselves no chances. The game goes on later. How important? How important is it for the group to stick together in a stretch where you guys lost so many different but equally tough ways? Yeah, yeah, sticking together is important anytime of year, any game, uh, any day, honestly. But I think it, uh, anytime things go against you in the games and, uh, we're not performing, I think it's a character test for each one of us as a team and, uh, as an identity for our team, to show that we can respond. Uh, we didn't respond tonight, um, period to period. Um, so the test now is a respond tomorrow. Conor, is it particularly hard when they score those two within 31 seconds at the time? It's two and one. You can manage that maybe and, and all of a sudden, it's, it's yeah, that's, that's kind of the difference in momentum shifts when things go against you, trying to just hunker down and compete hard and be strong on pucks and, um, not giving up chances like that that are going to cause the lead to get carried away from you. Um, but that, uh, it's just, again, like I said, it's what we failed to do tonight and, uh, it's one thing just to
go up chances, but it's just our level of, uh, compete, um, for each other. Uh, it was not there and that's the most frustrating right now. All right, there's counter Murphy. Uh, exactly what I expected to hear. It's what we all saw. He saw it. Blaschle saw it. The effort was not there. That's it. That's, you know, and Blaschle's talked about it all year. If you don't have your A game, you got to find your B and if you don't have your B, you better find your C tonight. I don't think they found her C games to be honest with you. No, um, no, just, not an effort that you can, uh, you can let go by. So you got to figure it out. They set it up. Murphy set it there. Like, challenge now is respond tomorrow. If you have a stinker against the blue jackets, yeah, that would tell you that I'll tell you all you need to know about the makeup of this team and the mentality of where they're at right now. If we, if you have a repeat effort tomorrow night, uh, that's, that's a little bit of red flags from you. Yeah. All right, we got to give out our men's, uh, game, our game day men's health, a game puck winner.
where we got to find a game day men's health visit Game day c h sheo.com to find locations. Closes to you. The playing puck winner is Connor Medard. Good for you. He had a goal in this game. Seven shot attempts, uh, 79 percent of the vote for him. Uh, and he passes at E old check for most goals scored by a black rock by a player under 21 years old with C T six. Keep rackin' up those very specific records, Yeah, exactly. Exactly. All right. We got some super chats real quick. Deleg 21 five bucks says, when you want all the young players up in the NHL, this is what you get veteran teams taking advantage of their inexperience. Yeah, you get something that you get some nights like this. Yeah, but I that youth does not mean effort. I think specific, I think Deleg, you're right over the course of 82, which is why they have been inconsistent. Some nights, they look great, some nights so it's bad. Tonight specifically, I think they felt checked out and that I don't
like. Yeah, the, the, I feel like that more or less the roller coaster or the ups and downs with the inexperience. I can attest that to attribute that to execution, but effort is whether you're a 15 year veteran or a rookie, you control your effort. Yep. And $5 says, I smoked you guys, two slabs of ribs have to go to bed, leaving at 8 a.m. from Carman Dale. Let me know where I can drop them off before the game. Oh, okay. We got a lot of giving out our address. I know. I don't really know what to because we're going straight to the games. I don't really know. I mean, if there's some of the lots of ribs here for us to pick up, I'm coming here to pick them up. Sure. We'll make the extra effort. All right. It's a lot to come here for you. What's on del place? You have to come here anyway. Why? Do it many pod? Or if you can drop them off to you guys in the press box. And then sure, I don't know if you're going to get two slabs of ribs past the security stuff. You don't think so? Well, I forget who it was, but we try to get a bag of,
a bag of jerky. Yeah. They wouldn't happen. You had to put it in your pocket like Charlie Bacon guy. 1143 West Rendell Place in Chicago. Yes. That's the address. If you leave them probably just right outside in the steps and do you want me to give her your number Chloe? If you're giving me like, I'll get them. Okay. Here's Chloe's phone number, everybody. It's a Denver area code. Is that what you want? Okay. Oh, I'm going to, yeah, I'm going to, I'm going to tweet it. All right. Sir Jack, five dollars says it could be incredibly worse for the Black Hawks. Just take a look at Vancouver. Having a plan does a wonder for rebuild good or bad. That's kind of what we've been trying to communicate to people. There's a lot of people saying they've got to design people bring in like, you can't short cut it. Do I want to see Kyle David can be a little more aggressive and bringing in players that are difference makers? Yes, I do. But I don't think you abandon everything and trade a bunch of picks to bring in a bunch of veterans to try to speed this along. If someone makes sense in the context of what's happening here
where they're 25 years old, 26 years old. And in two or three years, you can see him being a big contributing part of this thing. Absolutely. I'm here for it. And I have said this. Go back and listen. I have said this for years. Kyle Davidson still needs to check the box of landing a meaningful free agent. He still does. It hasn't been part of his plan yet, but it still needs to raise to be seen. And he didn't get terrifying. And number two, Z that would probably be his pushback on me for that. If we were to say I'd have been person second tier, but they're second tier. Yeah. You got it. You got to get a first tier free agent. And while I knew you went after Jake Gensel, it just, it didn't work. Right. So he tried. But yeah, I think that I think it's with Davidson, it's timing. And we're in overtime, by the way. Yes, we are. So if you're watching on the fashion, I think we're already gone. But if you ever are and the show just ends for you without notice, go to all CHGO.com and you can finish up watching this. But yeah, I was just going to say like with Davidson, what we've come to know
as with him is GM is he is a guy that is really keen on the timing of everything. And that's why the big free agents every year, the big trade deadline acquisitions every year have come and gone. And they haven't landed with the black hawks. And I think it's because Kyle Davidson is understanding of the rebuild and the timeline and the plan that he has put in place himself. And it just for him isn't the time to do it. So the, you know, go sign, so and so, go sign, you know, all these guys go get Mariner, go, you know, all these players that we've talked about it the last few years, you know, people talking about it recently, talking about it tonight in our check, go get Panera and go get Panera. It's not the time. It's not, it's not the time to go and get those guys in Kyle Davidson's mind because it's the lineup to the window is not the right moment. And you don't want to strap yourself in to let's Artemi Panera at four years,
$12 million or whatever it is for a team that may be at the end of those four years is like, oh, now they got a legitimate shot at contending because then you have 38 year old $12 million or Artemi Panera who very likely is not the same guy that you signed just kind of wasting away at that point. And I just, I think the timing for that move for Davidson is not yet. Obviously, if you look at what he said to Kaelin Lumpkins with the Chicago Tribune, there was no deviating from the plan whatsoever this season. Like they were going to go into the trade deadline as sellers. They had to be like where the avalanche are for him to not sell at the trade deadline. And they were never going to be that. Yeah. So even if even if right now they were like the number two wild card, he'd probably still sell and not keep, not keep Murphy and Dickinson and so on. He's got a very, he is very much in tune with most of our chat saying this is not a playoff team.
And he knows it. And that's why he's going to sell it. I'm just for for funsies. I typed in to Google NHL for agency winners and losers. This is from Matt Larkin of the daily face offer nine July second. This is for agency winners. Yes. Well, last year, 2025 winners, Florida Panthers, six points out of a playoff spot, like the Hawks, the New York Rangers are a second winner. They are selling selling right now, bottom of the Eastern Conference. And they sent a letter to their fans about this kind of sucks. We're going to kind of have to retool on the fly. But we're not rebuilding. We're not rebuilding. But we're going to sell it. We're going to sell off all the pieces and we're going to get young players and draw picks. But it's not a rebuild, which is why the Rangers will be exactly what they are for the next 10 more years. And then they'll fire Chris Dury in three years. And we'll be right back to the drawing board. Vegas, Frager winners, they got Mitch Marner hard argue with that. Fine. Incomplete assignment. Anaheim. Last side checked. Anaheim having a pretty decent year playoff spot. Carolina, Carolina last check was
at the top of the Eastern Conference. One point behind the red hot Tampa Bay Lightning. So incomplete assignment for them. Yeah. Well, I mean, I think for a team like that, free agency is there's different ways to approach it. Yeah. But the point is like it's everyone wants to get the big shiny toy at free agency. And it just doesn't always work. Well, look at two off seasons ago. The guys that they all brought in with Bertuzzi and Tevo and Braswa and Pat Maroon and Craig Smith and TJ Brody for some reason and Alec Martinez. It was like, oh, wow. Hey, I get a they're free agency was great. Yep. And it didn't get them anywhere. It didn't get them where they thought it would. So, you know, it's, it's, it's, it's never guaranteed. Just like with the prospects, it's never guaranteed. They can make a big trade for our tiny panarin. They could. They could be
like, we're going to trade and extend them. Panarin's back. Like get all your loaves of bread out of the freezer and, you know, dust the mold off. He's back. And he could completely bust out and fall off the cliff of production and be like a 50 point player or something. Also, you also have there's questions about his motivation. And you don't want a guy whose motivation is being questioned during the middle stage of a rebuild, which is where we're at. Right. Not only on the ice, but also off the ice is a big factor with, with, with how you construct a team. So, all right. Another super chat here. We've got, uh, when's baseball season 10 bucks. Says, why does it constantly feel like the opposing team is on a power play against us? Seems like we rarely apply any offensive pressure concerning with Bidad and Nasar back now, right? Um, well, I think that's part of being a young team. And I don't think you're talking about power play chances. I think what it would, one baseball season is saying is why do the
hawks feel like they're, they're pinned in deep. Yeah. And that is part of that being a young team. But again, part of that is getting in a ways of shots, having firm stick checks, doing the winning hockey that Jeff Flashles talked about a lot. They've been put in the blender a lot lately. But to your point about Nasar and Bidad, tonight they were not great. But in comparison to, uh, their teammates, they were okay. They had a 50 per dead line had six shot attempts for and six against in a game where you just got absolutely clobbered in possession. So that's fine. In the last game, they were all over the wild. They were awesome in the last game. So that line itself is doing its job. They are winning the possession battle. They're the ones with possession in zone. Um, so I'm not worried about those guys specifically, but it's the rest of the team. Yeah. You want to be able to have those guys, um, in more advanced, advantageous positions. So yeah, when you do get hemmed in, um, and then you know, you get a chance to counter attack or you get a chance to change a lot of it is changing off
of a dump in. And then they have to go back and try and retrieve the puck. And that's, you know, it's a task in it of itself. So, um, yeah, you don't want to be out chance and out shot and out, out possessed game after game after game after game because it's, it's taxing to play that style. But it comes with maturity in, in, in the game. And yeah, like you said, like the way that Jeff Blaschle wants these guys to play, you got to, it's, it takes a lot of buy-in. It's not the most fun style of hockey, but it can turn into the most successful style. Fun is winning. And I'm winning is fun. I'm the first person ever say that. Agreed. Uh, and our buddy, young Daniel God, right on cue, says we can't score it even straight. Can't score in a power play. Are we going to resign Caner or not and chips in his dollar for mentioning all time. US born leading score, Patrick Kane, who passed Mike Modano tonight. Um, we talked about a little bit yesterday with Greg. Um, but this is a guy who is very much in that ageless category,
especially since the hip resurfacing. Yeah, about that. Then no one's really been able to come back from he has. Um, and he's not the guy he was in the 2010s, of course, but he is still incredibly effective and fun to watch, even though it's in that sweater. Yeah. I mean, yeah, it's, it's, it's undeniable. The amount of talent and impact that he's had as, uh, as a US born player, um, just the, the hockey cultural impact that he had, um, or has had on guys like, look at how many guys through, you know, the last handful of years that have come through, uh, the draft and how many, you know, skilled flashy wingers, they all say Patrick Kane was my favorite player, what, you know, to watch growing up. Yeah. But our, the, the, the artist said that to, uh, to some extent, Jack Hughes has talked about that, um, like a lot of the, a lot of the US
players that go through, you know, the, the US development program, everything, like the impact that he has, you see Matt, with a mouthpiece out of the mouthpiece, even though Kane stopped doing that, feels like 10 years ago. Um, all the, you know, a lot of that is, is part of it, the, the mullet with the, uh, stripes buzzed into the sides. If you are a, a, a young boy playing hockey, uh, in the 2010s and you had hair long enough, you had that hairstyle at some point in your life, um, and just the, you know, stick handling ability that he has, uh, just incredible. So, um, uh, an awesome feat, uh, for him. And, uh, yeah, just can't say enough about how, uh, awesome of a, of a hockey player, uh, he's been, was as a Black Hawk, uh, and has been for Detroit. And look, I, I had my doubts about the Red Wings going into the season because they, they kind of were just like, uh, let's run it back. Um, but they've been, they've been pretty good this season. So it's
going to stink to see. It's going to see a stink to see them get into the playoffs. But, uh, um, you know, good, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's good to see him be able to come back like you said from the surgery and everything and play to the level that he has. Uh, yeah. So good for him. Awesome, uh, awesome achievement. Something we all thought was going to happen anyways, uh, just a matter of time. So, and it took, uh, it took some time for those Detroit prospects to max out, right? Like it, and now those guys are playing. And they have done, instead of loading up with a tons of big veterans, they had, they have let their young players play and develop. And now that it's time for the Red Wings to not, see, for me, now is the time for Detroit to be aggressive. They try to get Quinn Hughes. See, guys or men would not do it without the extension, which I think is really smart. Cause if you give up the hall, you're going to have to give up for Quinn Hughes, and he leaves in two years or whatever, then you kind of back to square one. I like that he stood his ground and was like, all right, if you're going to sign here, we're all in. We're going to give you
the bag everything. We'll make it figure everything else out. But without a commitment, we're not going to do it. But he will be hunting for something at the trade deadline. Yeah. Um, so we'll see. Uh, we, Greg and I got to talk about it yesterday. I want to get your take. Um, in your mind is Kane, the greatest American born player ever. I mean, he's got the points to back it up now. Uh, he did it in fewer games than Madonna. I believe. Um, yeah. I mean, you put him up against, you know, Madonna. Uh, you put him up against Ronik and Chelios and in his same, uh, in a, in a near same generation of a guy like awesome Matthews. Um, Jack Hughes, I think you could throw him into the modern conversation. Um, but I think as far as, I think as far as like cultural hockey impact plus
awards, plus, you know, cups and hardware and, uh, and all that, um, I think in the modern era of hockey, I don't think an American player has had a bigger impact on the game. Um, and, and put up the numbers and, and put trophies on his mantle like Patrick Kane has. So, yeah, I would say so. Okay. I'm still on with Chris Chelios, just because of the longevity and the effectiveness so long and it's not done yet. Uh, he's not done yet. You're right. But I, I think Kane is very firmly second. And I think it's the conversation between Chelios and Kane is, you know, razor thin. Mm hmm. But I just give it to Chelios just because of, I mean, how effective he was for so long, especially playing the way he played. Um, what was he like a Norris finalist at like 35 or 36 or something? Yeah. Yeah. I remember that. Yeah. Realized that he joined the Hawksley was 29. Yeah. And played to Lee was what? 30. Yeah. No, he was 40 something. Well, with the Hawks. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Pretty, uh, pretty crazy. And yeah, uh, people played till he was 48.
I think crazy. Uh, people mentioning Brett Hall in the chat. It's always the caveat of U.S. born players because although Brett Hall, uh, identified as an American in his hockey career, he was born in Canada. I will also still put Chelios and Kane over Brenhole. Yeah. Brenhole was great. But to me, I feel like Brenhole is a little, I mean, I guess Kane is one dimensional too. Um, but I mean, Kane, his, his best attribute is his puck handling and play, playmaking ability. Yes. But he also had what through, uh, two, he had two 40 goal seasons. Like he can, he can fire it too. Yeah. Like he can be a goal scorer. It's just, it's not his bread and butter. Two cups for, uh, Brett Hall three time all start. That's it. That can't be. We have three time all star. How many all start games that he'd play in? Go check that. One, two, uh, here we go. Yeah. One, two, because that's always five. Yeah.
Six, seven. Yeah. So it's the NHL all star versus an all star game appearance. That makes a lot more. I, I, I know the, you know, John Scott's an all star too. Sure. So you could throw the, you could throw that out the window if you want. But I always look at the, how many all star games that they play in versus how many times were they, you know, NHL first team all star or whatever. Yeah. The Bowsky says Brett holds one of the greatest goal scorers ever. I grew that. Yeah. But I think that's what he is a goal score. Yeah. I just, you know, I'm not, I'm not arguing that at all. I agree with Alan. I think it's Borthole. Well, no one's better than Borthole. That guy is a champion of the world. Yes. He is born on it. Well, he is born on another planet from parts on the end down here to save us all. But then just did hockey instead. Yeah. All right. We're going to wrap the show up. Thanks for being with us. Thanks for hanging with us during overtime. Back at it tomorrow, Hawks and Blue Jaguettes at the UC will talk to you after the game on a CHG Black Hawks podcast.
