Welcome to the PHY 65 cast live from the Exfinity Lounge here along with Derek Kyle on the Von Breed, the President of basketball, operations, all of you. Good to see you. Talk about it later on in the show, but let's start off with Jalen Brown and that's a wonky's Paul situation. And the level of kind of forgot that I mean not

1:02that he's forgotten that the trade happened, but he got lost once the Brian James ultimately decided to sign with the Philadelphia 76s on the veterans minimum and joining the team to put together this group. We always bring up Jalen Brown, but it's just not talked about how much of an impact he could possibly have out there for this team. We've looked at videos that have been posted from him working with Tari Smaxi and LeBron James with Chris Johnson Hoops. We've seen other things that he has been doing. We're going to show you the latest here shortly in this segment. But even when we were talking the other day about a question that was thrown at us as far as who could lead the team in specific categories. And Derek said, Jalen Brown could lead the team in scoring, but with it Kyle, when we talk about Jalen Brown, it's more of what we're not talking about with Jalen Brown, especially since the LeBron James, when Jalen Brown got

2:05here, yes, but as soon as it was able to flip and turn a little bit, it went to should they now go after LeBron James? And that was the conversation. And even after he decided to join the 76s, Jalen Brown is kind of fine under the radar. So it's like I get why it has happened, but it's strange that the move that really was the catalyst for this being such a great offseason has now been buried under LeBron, LeBron, LeBron, LeBron, LeBron. And we've been part of that. We want to talk about what LeBron brings to the table. We kind of understand the historical significance of LeBron coming here and all that. But I think a good way to think about it is if the sixers had just signed LeBron, but had not made the Jalen Brown trade, I think the sentiment, despite that they got LeBron, would be a lot different because I think a lot of people would look at this team and say, well, you know, they're old, they're reliant on LeBron in his 40s, all George in his late

3:0930s who's always banged up to all and B due while he's had a good offseason in terms of the bill of health and conditioning. We never really know if you can rely on him. And by swapping out Jalen, not only is that dynamic different where people are in like, they're going to win 55 plus games and they should win the title or they should come out of the east, whatever it is. But I think even if LeBron hadn't come here, I think people were rejuvenated in a way that was a lot different than like some people were on board and excited about the Paul George signing, but it was really just like, yeah, that was a good option out of the options they had. This is an option that's just straight up good regardless of how you talk about it. You're talking about guys made, I believe, four consecutive All Star teams and five out of the last six years. Someone who's one finals MVP, someone who's been a co star last year, he showed he could be a main star. There have been times where his offensive role was not as prominent.

4:12And so he's turning up on defense more. We even saw that when he went on that finals MVP run, where he could share that responsibility with others and then go on the other end of the floor and try to lock down Luca Donchich as much as you can lock down somebody like Luca. So it's just, it's a weird phenomenon. I understand why it's happened, but so much of the daily discussion dialogue or like you see people in the street like, hey, man, or you run into somebody at a party, a family reunion, whatever it is. And like, can't believe the sixers got LeBron and nobody even really brings up Jalen Brown. When the truth is, if everything goes right, Jalen Brown should be a much bigger driver of their success and their day to day than LeBron is this year, because we expect he's going to play more games. We expect this production is probably going to be higher. I hope that people as much as they got on, they're like, wow, they got LeBron. This is amazing

5:12offseason. Van Wagen. I hope that people are still really fired up and that it's just kind of bubbling under the surface because I personally am really excited to see this guy play with Tyrie Simvj and to take this team into a new era together. It's weird. Because on the one hand, you can make the case that Jalen Brown, a 29 years old, is going to have a bigger impact in LeBron this year and is obviously going to have a bigger impact over the next three to five years. Like this is a guy who could be here for the rest of his prime. You could look to extend him next offseason. There could be a bunch of things that happen where he is just going to be a fixture. Not just a guy who's here for a one plus one, but a real fixture of the organization. And two cows pointing about the way you look at the team. You know, like he mentioned, if you're sitting here with Embed and Paul George and LeBron James, you'd go like, yeah, it's a lot of talent, but boy, there's some age and some literally age in LeBron James, some physical wear and tear in Joel Embed and then someone in Paul George who's got a little bit

6:16of both. Now you're looking at your like, all right, even like you've got a two year window now with this star studded Avengers like lineup, and you call them that. That's great, but you also have a window beyond that where you can build the next iteration of the six years as contenders. And that comes down to Jalen Brown. In fact, that you're able to get a guy like him, smack dab in the middle of his prime for a relatively low price to for a price that quite frankly just didn't even, you know, it didn't really hinder you in the future. On the other hand, it's LeBron James and I get why people are focused on him. And not only the fact that it's a huge name, one of the greatest of all, it's not the greatest of all time to ever play the sport. And a, you know, a singular focus that you very rarely see, like he is a brand onto himself. But also, you just have an elite passer and playmaker and general that you just haven't had in so long. So it was both the, you know, the fact that LeBron is who he is, but also just the play style that's

7:20so intriguing. So I get it. Like if we say here when we focus on LeBron James, then you focus on LeBron James. I can't tell you you're wrong for doing so, but it is a little bit weird that Jalen got here. And everything I mentioned, in fact, he could be, you know, the bigger impact on LeBron this year and a three to five year part of your future. And he also become a, oh yeah, and you also got Jalen in the off season two. Like he became almost an afterthought. Like I said, I understand it, but it's also weird. It is very weird because I remember when we had Mark Steinon will got LeBron from Somer League and the thing that, and I know I brought this up in the past when we've had a similar conversation that when we spoke with him in Somer League, outside of again, the joke of Gary Trance contract, it was, it was about that. It was man. How did the six is just land Jalen Brown? That was before LeBron James. How did they land Jalen Brown? The costs that it took to get Jalen Brown, what it's going to look like and rejuvenate here in Philadelphia with this

8:22group playing alongside not only the two all stars, but the budding young rookie who had a fantastic first year in the league and what all of that was going to look like. And when we talk about where they could be in the league standing of being a top team in the Eastern Conference and a contender, but also in the NBA, that was the same conversation we were having just not with LeBron James in the lineup. It was instead Dean Wade and what that looked like. And then it was what followed because Dean Wade was first, but it was Jalen Brown afterwards, area of portee with Dean Wade, but then it was because you get Jalen Brown. Now you have Anthony Simon to decide it since I played with him in Boston that I can team up with him in Philadelphia. And what all of that was going to look like the excitement, especially around that time in early July for some league of what LeBron Fyreline could bring to a group of a rotation and then LeBron James and Contavius called well Pope everybody happened a little bit later that now it all just brings it together. The whole complete Avengers,

9:24as Derek said, it all comes back together. But the conversation early on was that of excitement. It had a few days that were run, but as soon as you got wind of any possible LeBron addition to the team, that's where everything started to shift. So going going out for blood for for Jalen Brown, us speaking with Gary Washburn and him saying what he had to say, not just about the Boston side of it, but his legacy part of it of what he wants as a one time champion a finals MVP, but also 10 years in what can he now add to that? It's about legacy for him too. And then seeing him work out with his current teammates, hearing the things that he has said on his switch stream and in other interviews, especially with the press conference that he had here in Philadelphia is introductory press conference of the sacrifice and what things are going to look like for this basketball team. He has said all the right things and he has gotten so many people excited, but not as much as we think it should be

10:26because of what Kyle laid out of his resume over the last four years, five years, a four time all star, a multiple time all NBA player and a guy who finished top six and MVP voting this past season. And that was with the team that we had pretty much pushed to the side as a play in or back in playoff team, but certainly a conversation of a play in and he led them to a second seat in the Eastern conference and really getting that team and keeping them their heads above water. I remember early on in the season when they played in the sixes played them, they split early on and they had a like a what, like a four and seven record and stumbled out of it. It didn't look good. It looked like and you can hear some Celtics fans want to particularly as very famous in this space too said maybe we just need to blow it up for the year and take and get one of these top picks that are coming up. But he said no the rest of that team said no on the Joe Mizzoula and he was a driving force of that and leading them to that that that type of season that they had a year ago. And I bring that

11:32up just because of wow. Everyone's focused on LeBron James and the pressure is going to be on the sixes to compete. Look at what he did when there was pressure when they won the championship, of course, and what he needed to do to make sure and help uplift that Boston Celtics team a year ago that was definitely talents it, but not one that we thought could do what they did a year ago. And he was the main catalyst for the entire thing. So overlooking him, I don't think that's a good idea because I think he's going to be damn good with the rest of this group around them and he's played with other maybe not to the level of course of LeBron James and other stars with the complete starting five, but where he's had to play and be maybe the third option here tonight. Secondly, certainly the second one, but obviously the first on giving nights, but be a part of a group that is very talented. What everybody needed to touch the basketball, he knows how to play in that environment. Yeah, I mean, that Celtics team, the one, the title, you're talking about a group that had of course, him and Tatum were the mainstays, but then it's

12:36through holiday who's going to spend time running the offense. It was Chris Staps, Przinga, who opened up the floor for everybody and played his role, but with someone who's going to get such as otherwise. And those are the main guys and then you're dealing with the Derek White so the world, the Malcolm Braggdons of the world, like other guys who are coming in and are playing within that system, Al Hoerfords and other guy, right? So that was a loaded team. There's a reason financially that they didn't stay together very long because it's hard in this cap environment to keep teams of great or very good players together with that many of them. So but the more important thing is Jalen has lived in that kind of environment where, you know, maybe it's not a broad James Drollenbee, Tyree Smaxley, Jalen Brown where all those guys could probably make a claim to be the main star on a team that could win almost anywhere in the league, but I think certainly will inform his experience. I think frankly too, some of his earlier career

13:37experiences should help here too, where that previous edition of the Celtics that was, you know, when JB and Haydom were young and it was career-erving and Gordon Hayward signed there, obviously he dealt with that injury, but it's, you know, the management of the the egos and the skill sets, that doesn't end up working out because they couldn't figure out the pecking order and hey, who's going to sacrifice here and who's going to do this and who's going to do that and there was a budding of head. And so I hope that he takes both the championship experience, but also the early career, maybe not quite super team, but certainly a very, very good team that people expected to be elite. I hope that he can take those moments and those trials and tribulations and share that with these guys like, hey, we, I've been through this where things are not going as planned and we got to work through this like we've talked about LeBron and the heat starting nine and eight early in his tenure and having a the microscope is on you and you have to just come out the other side

14:42to end up winning, you know, 50, whatever, things like 58 games or something like that. So they ultimately found their way. I think JB and LeBron are going to be able to bring a lot of knowledge of basically every situation you can play through in the NBA. I think that'll be invaluable for this group. Yeah. No, and it's great to have some people who are at very different points in their careers. Like VJ is young enough where he's just going to be a sponge and listen and learn and play whatever role you need. And then he got players like LeBron who's accomplished everything he can, with individually and as a team. And he's here to impart wisdom and probably doesn't need the score 25 per game because he's 41 years old playing professional basketball. You can utilize his skill sets and then you've got something like to all of you who's again accomplished pretty much everything he can individually. Now he just needs that team success. And I think having people at various stages of their career and at various stages of accomplishment probably makes it a little bit easier for everyone to buy into different roles where if they were all like 28 year old superstars. Sure,

15:47you'd love to have that problem. All of these players in their prime, but they might be a little less willing to have nights where they score 14 and play more of a complimentary roles. But probably helps that they're in very different spots in their career as well. And he did talk about cows. You brought it up with the earlier teams that he had to play with Kyrie Irving and being playing a little bit of a backseat there and what he had to do. And he brought that up at the press conference when he talked about VJ and in particular about having to deal with that. So it's not lost on him of where he is now. What he had to come into and where VJ Edgecomb is also going to have to deal with being that fifth option, being the young guy, having the way to turn, but have his moments and have his success within the starter of the season and throughout the entire campaign of what they have and what he can help and still not necessarily be a guy that has to hold his hand, but can pass along some of that knowledge overall. So when we come back, we'll talk about some of his numbers from last season, what those look like. Derek said he still believes that they can he can lead the

16:47sixes and scoring. We'll tell you what he averaged last year. How many games he played some of his numbers in general. How it might look with the Philadelphia 76ers in a different role here. And when you look at his numbers from last season Derek, just to kind of go off of you again saying that you could see him leading the team and scoring and seeing what he did a year ago. So can you just get into a little bit more number one for the people who didn't hear why you said that the other day he did shoot also 5.7 attempts on three for the season to get to that 34.7. It's not a strength but one that maybe we'll see a little bit here. Why you feel like he can do what we're talking about as far as leading the team is scoring and how that number plus the 71 games came about last season. Yeah, I mean, look, well, I think part of the reason I came to that conclusion is I just don't think LeBron necessarily cares where he leads the team and scoring. Great. He's a great passer great distributor. I don't think Tyrese necessarily cares plus he's such an elite off-ball player. Look, we talked about yesterday. So I think he is going to be, you know, not that you would ever call Harry's superiorly off-ball player, not that you would ever call him like a decoy or

22:03distraction or spacer, but he's going to be in that role probably more than he previously was and he's just a better off-ball player than Jalen is. And a big part of it is that simple fact, like Jalen is at his best offensively when he has the ball in his hands and he's able to put pressure on the rim. And I think in order to maximize Brown's value, you're going to have to allow him to create off the dribble. You're going to have to allow him to attack the paint. You're going to have to allow him to settle for some mid-range pull-up jumpers and then try to flow off of him. And especially when you go to the bench. And I think when you start going to the bench and we start talking about these pairings, and I'm really kind of mentioning it yesterday. We've mentioned it before. I'm really curious to see what Nick Nurse eventually settles on, but I think you'd see a world where you would split because you want to keep, you know, Tirees alongside a LeBron, you want to keep Tirees alongside of Mbied, then process elimination. That kind of leaves you with Jalen and VJ as your other pairing. And in those lineups, Jalen's use to drink could be absolutely off the charts. So even when that breaks down, you start going to your bench, I get to see a world because of how the skill sets fit. We're going to have three stars in one group and then Jalen and the second year player in the

23:05other group. I just feel like in order for him to maximize his value, they're going to put him in spots where he is doing a lot of one-on-one work. So one thing I'm curious about with regards to Jalen is where his three-point volume is at this year because I don't mean this to take away from him the individual, but that team and that coach up in Boston is, I don't wouldn't even say he's a mean line obsessed. They are obsessed with getting up threes to the point that frankly, they pass out open looks near the basket because they're chasing threes, which to me is not the type of basketball I want to watch personally. They're the one team where I go like for the most part of going none of that you're exchanging mid-range shots for threes. I don't mind that at all. They're the one team where I go. Yeah, you're kind of you're taking a logical extreme a little bit too far. Yeah, so I'm wondering under this coach and with this personnel and because Jalen, I think to get the most value out of him, you're going to put him on the ball, whether he still continues to

24:09be around that like last year was five, seven, but he had years. There's a few years there. He took seven point one seven, seven point three attempts for game from three in three consecutive seasons. And that was in that period where Boston ascended to like they're the best offense in the league. They're just everybody is shooting threes. They had guys who frankly could take and make threes, by the way. And he had some great seasons in there like at a close to 40% year from three in 2020, 2021, 2021. He shot like 36%. Pretty good, right? So if you can get to those numbers, I don't need him to necessarily be it seven attempts for game because I think the Celtic system is a bit extreme, but I'm wondering exactly how much of a focus the slashing kick game is. I think given that LeBron is on this team and his whole career has been predicated on put pressure on the paint, the pressure at the rim and then you know, get the ball over the floor and also the Jalen B dynamic

25:13of post ups, possessions at the nail, drawing help swing swing around the perimeter. I do tend to think there'll still be three point opportunities for Jalen. It just might be in a slightly more reserved role. And that'll be okay because that's not his area of strength. It is what he has to do in order to help out his teammates, get some shots up. Certainly want to make as many as possible. But a lot of his money is in areas where other guys are not as good, right? Like VJ at this point is still not the best at rim slashing type player. This adds a dynamic to the wing that they didn't have last year. Like we're talking about and I'm not trying to disrespect him either. We're talking about going from Kelly Ubrei as you're penciled in every night starter on the wing to Jalen Brown and then you're turning Dominic Barlow starting at the four into LeBron James. I have to remind myself of this all the time as we're like, you know, they won X amount of games

26:13last year and there's health factors and how good will VJ be in this role? Entire East, but ultimately you took a player who led the number two C in the East and who has been consistently productive and a consistent winner in the Eastern Conference for basically his entire career. And you added LeBron James on top of that. Like there's almost no world sort of catastrophic disaster, injuries, vibes, whatever that this team isn't going to be really, really good. And I think the key with Jalen is that he does have multiple ways to impact the game. I will be, you know, we'll be discussing he's got to buy in on defense. He's got to be better off the ball, which has been a source spot for him in recent years as his usage has ticked up. But I think based on his commentary and based on the fact that we've seen him be a very good defender at times in the past, I would bet he comes in with a point to prove on that end. And I think that's where the embarrassment of riches on

27:15offense will help him where it's like, hey, Joelle can take four or five possessions here where he's he's flowing and you locking on defense LeBron is controlling the offense for this portion and getting you catching shoot stuff. So I need you bought in on the other end, playing the passing lanes, playing some really good, maybe even great on ball defense that you're capable of. And so I think what I would hope for Jalen is that as the assignment changes not even game to game, but like quarter by quarter minute by minute, I hope that he can get back into, you know, a more flexible role on both ends of the floor because we know he's capable of being leader of the team now. He just put together an all NBA season, deserved all the plotts. I think what this team is going to need is for that guy to be there some night and other nights he does have to be more of a do it all, fill the gaps, whatever it takes kind of meant. So just a couple of things. The 5.7 that he shot last

28:18season for the Boston Celtics on average per game. That was for this particular team of the main guy of the guys that regularly play and shoot three is Namiya's Kada not in that, you know, Bail Shireman even take him out of it. He was six on the team behind Tatum White Tatum only played 16 games, but Tatum White, Pritchard, Simon's and Hauser Jalen Brown was six on the team and attempts made the volume that they get up overall. So to your point, we might get 5.7. We might get 4.7 here. Yeah, honestly to what he might be able to get up. But again, with the way the ball is going to move, you might just be open and he has to shoot those. So we'll see how he practices those. And then the other thing that I was I was looking at as you talk about doing other things to help the team out. He averaged 6.9 rebounds last season and also 5.1 assists last year. Paul George is

29:18different because we know he's a guy who passes the basketball all the way that he does, but he's still in average 3.6 assists and 5.3 rebounds. Kelly Ubrey, 1.6 assists and 5 rebounds. So when you're getting and we've discussed it plenty of times where it's been a focal point of our show, rebound the basketball. He is a guy who averaged just a tick under 7 boards a game last year. And then you bring in LeBron James who crashes the class. Very good rebound. VJ Edgecomb who makes sure that he gets in there and tries to help out on the glass. And we even saw Tavis Maxi at points where it was a focal point of him him talking about, especially in that Boston series, I had to get in there and help my guys and get rebounds. He is one that can come in and also contribute in that area where if Dwell and B may not be able to get to that double digit rebounding anymore, but he can still get 8 maybe 9 or hover around that 9 number somewhere that brown can get you 7 boards along with LeBron James and VJ Edgecomb with a team rebound and make sure that

30:21that's a big part of finishing off the defense and finishing that possession to then create an opportunity for you to get on the offensive end. So I think it's a great point because like even if you go off a closer to his like we'd use a five year window, he's been in that like the lowest was five and a half a couple years ago. He's pretty consistently been in the like six to seven range. And if he is giving you one extra rebound per game over Paul George, I know that doesn't sound like a lot, but he gives you one extra rebound. Joel's a little bit lighter on his feet and his rebounding is better LeBron certainly is an upgrade over anybody who was playing at the 4 last year in terms of the rebounding stuff. It's not solving it by just going out and getting like Dennis Rodman and all of a sudden you have one guy who's going to control the glass and have these games where he's putting up like 11 points and 19 rebounds like that's not what happened.

31:22But if you chip away at it as a team, if you guard rebound the way, I think Maxi and VJ did at times near the end of the season. Dean Wade is not going to be a big rebound guy himself, but he has a great reputation of like he's going to hit a man and box out and he's going to make life easier for the Jailons, the Joel Wells, the LeBron, to the world. Like I think that in some of these end game situations and some of these scenarios where hey you're trying to hold off somebody who's only at the might be up by six with a few minutes to go and you got to close these games out. I think having Jalen who is a good rebounder for the position, but also is just frankly younger, more mobile and can some of these that you got to run down and chase down that somebody like Paul is just not doing that at this stage of his career. I think it's one of those things that doesn't seem like a huge deal now, but over the course of 82 games plus the playoffs, that impact is going to be felt pretty much all the time. Matt, one could come in. You gave scenarios,

32:25but it could just be at any point of man, they just need this rebound right here to prevent this offensive board that we've seen so many times from the opposition and he's the one that sneaks in there and gets that board. Look, as we've seen, the next one punch you in the face and Jalen Brown is now used to getting punched in the face. So hopefully, hopefully, it helps out with that. They took us or staged this was like, we're only seeing these limited clips. So maybe it was

38:49closer to just like, light sparring and whatever. If that happened behind the scenes, people would probably be like, hey, he's getting some boxing in. It's one of those things. I don't need to see it. If you want to do it, go to a local gym, go wherever you want, do the training. Just please for the one. And you'll see, don't get in the ring. Yeah, I have you spar a little bit, but not in not this because when you spar, they're just working with you. Let's work on some things. And it's also like, you have to understand the the fan base that you are now playing for. I don't know if he understands how scarred we are. I like that he's like, yeah, I want to try boxing. I'm going to do it. I'm a, I'm in the, you know, peak of my physical years. Why wouldn't I do this? It's just like, brother, you play for the sixth or so. You don't have the Celtics Lepurcan and the Celtics Shamrock and all the good luck that they've had for whatever it is six decades at this point. Just take like 10 more seconds to think about it. It's also like you're in a profession. Well, you will be retired by 40, have all the money and time in the world and still be in probably the top one percent of physical athletes of people in the world. You can skydive when you're retired. And look, I understand you want to do it now,

41:52but he just has so much random stuff happened to us like, I feel like I'm more comfortable skydiving myself than I am watching Jalen skydive. 48:09account that Brie was showing, seeing the reaction earlier this morning throughout the afternoon, I even reached out to my daughters and said, guys, what do you think? And this is the demographic that they were trying to reach out to, the younger generation of basketball fans with what they wear and all my daughters like them. I did not like them. Okay. Well, we're old. That's the last one I'm taking from that's cool. That's the bottom line here. So let's get your thoughts then because we're old. So here are my thoughts. Nike, you should take a look at your scat stock price every once in a while and maybe reflect on where you've gone wrong over the last decade. I think this is a symptom of a big problem. That's, by the way, it's not just prevalent in the NBA because this is an issue with like in European soccer. They change the jerseys every year. Every single season, new set of jerseys. And I think when you make that a mandatory thing,

49:16you end up in a place where you're putting out new stuff for no reason. And this is an example of, like I've said on the show, I'm not the biggest like, oh my god, I'd love the Iverson era black jerseys, but they were wildly popular. And by the way, guess who else they were popular with? The team, the players advocated to wear those basically the whole year, they turn into their de facto main uniform for most of the season. And you want to know who probably has reverence for those jerseys? LeBron James, who Alan Iverson was one of his favorite players when he was a kid. He's openly talked about looking up to AI and, you know, having fond memories of him playing here in Philadelphia in those jerseys. Jason Brown's first public jersey before. What's that exact jersey? And so requested it's a common sense exemption needs to be made. Like you have a jersey like that that the people love, the players love court look good. Like they did a good job of putting

50:20the little modern touches with like the shoulders and other things. It made too much sense to bring it back. And also what a sold a gazillion. You know how many black sixers LeBron James jerseys are going to be sold from like some knockoff manufacturer in China or wherever we'd million. I was right. Yes, today. We literally in our discord once a week. You are literally giving money away by not letting people buy jerseys they would actually want. So you can, you know, do whatever this is all the black jerseys on sale yesterday on the corner. I don't you know, that's how popular they are. There is something I almost feel gratitude towards. And that's that this rule entirely made a rule of we're going to introduce X amount of new jerseys every year to try to manufacture sales is going to end up hurting their sales because a new rule is getting in the way of what everybody wants. And when you have two huge new sixers players in brown and LeBron, you don't have to come up with a new jersey to get sales. You have to have good jerseys. This ain't

51:26it. It's a product of like I said, they learned a long time ago corporates that you just need to come out with new jersey styles to sell more jerseys. Well, now it's going to bite you and you deserve it. And by the way, this is down the list of reasons that, you know, sports are basketball NBA for some people, the stock has fallen, but like average person turns on the TV. They can never tell who's playing. Number one, because as Devon and I have old man rant about many times, nobody wears home whites anymore. That's like a thing of the passive used to be turned on the the game. I know the team that's at home is wearing white jerseys. I know who the visitors are. That's easily identifiable. Now that's that that's gone away and fine. But you also get into territory where it's like this doesn't look like anything to anyone. It's like a generic 2k created team that you made jerseys for when you know, some of these franchises, the Lakers are another great example. The Lakers have

52:28classic jerseys. You can hate the Lakers. People see a Lakers jersey. They know immediately who that team is. It has some of the best brand recognition and all of sports. And like now they're, they're changing the yellow that they use. They're adding black into their jerseys. Why? For what reasons? Almost nobody asked for that. Only wonder. It drives me nuts with the fillings too, because they'll have like four iconic jerseys. Great jerseys. Then they're like, we're going to probably with a city connectors. I don't give one rat's bleep about that city connectors. You've got four like literally iconic stood the test of time. Very different styles. Don't go introducing this nonsense. Like just stop. But really like we could you could sit here and someone could argue like, I like these jerseys and fine, it's difference of opinion on style or whatever. It's really the rules that drive me crazy. You made the rules up. There is no reason you can't just change the rule. There's no like I'm Budsman at Nike who's like, you know what? We can actually,

53:29this is a permanent rule. This can never go away. And we can't make any exceptions ever when people like a jerseys. There's so much player movement in the NBA now. Like you will get sales just from the fact that stars are changing teams. You don't have to go screwing up your product and your brand to manufacture nonsense sales. Bre? What do you think? No, I don't like them. I was waiting for a breed to be like, I actually kind of think, I'm going to go on. No, their collection look kind of fire though. Like the hoodies and like, you have things. Yeah, I do. Yeah, you have those. So Nike also, so here, here are the dates for availability. If you do like them, I told in the fall, the jerseys and the one day only this vector edition uniforms will be available in the fall. They'll know the exact date. But what we're brief is talking about with the hoodies, the shirts, all of that, the collection. I know and the other funny part about this is it's supposed to be

55:34because of the teams that are involved. It's all it's like a historical group, right? They've been connected to the NBA for like X amount of years. Maybe just make them throwback jerseys then. Right. You can do the specter edition and do exactly what they do with these. But if you're trying to celebrate like, hey, it's the Celtics, the Lakers, the Sixers. Maybe just make some good throwback jerseys. Maybe even just use the ones you already had for the Sixers would be a great idea. If there's one thing I'm going to go full oncon, it's definitely jerseys. Tradition matters to me a lot, especially for Sixers, Lakers, Celtics, like that. It's absolutely. I've no shame with that. Yeah. Yeah. I'm out on the all of the team ones that Breeshow there. I should be sure on media day asked these guys. I'm probably unfair because I don't think they can be too. That might be like a locker room. But we did ask them about the upcoming Black uniforms.

Out for blood. Reef also says think how fresh throughout the season. Brown will be. Won't have to shoulder the load but will still have great production. 3 and D wing equals a chip. Jalen Brown. And when I looked at the numbers. There I think 34 and some change was the highest when I went back and looked at their numbers from the Celtics. It was 34 and down the line. He just kept getting lower. Besides him Derek White and just kept going down. But even even with that is 34 but it was a very high usage 34. I think everybody will be have way more fresh legs and they have him quite a long last one as we get ready to step into a little overtime. This is LeBron James because we were talking about this with his averages terms of points per game the other day.

59:50also to Austin Reeves is a guy who has had the ball put in his hands a lot and goes out there looking to score. So he in the last couple of years has definitely changed or evolved or done what he's done trying to fit in and I think if you go back to the year that's all fixed on the title Jalen Brown's production is you know a little bit down he's scoring like he's still scoring 23 points in game which is a good number. That's a healthy number for a guy who's on a team with Tatum, Przingus, White, Holiday, Pritchard, Horford all those guys on that team like I think there's just a case to be made like yeah you're gonna play less you're gonna shoot less you're gonna score a little bit less but you're gonna be higher impact in the moments you do play because as Reeves points out like you just have more to give you don't have to play as many minutes you don't have to break your guy down and like ISO and tougher possessions time to time. I think that's the benefit not just for JB but hopefully all of these guys is that the load is

1:00:54that much lighter so that all of them can bring everything they got on both ends of the floor because the defense I think we still have pretty major questions about given you know age fit some of their weaknesses I think lineup player to player in some of these lineups so that's gonna take real focus and real want to from these guys and we preach it at least I do on the show of I'm that's not something I believe it's just like you wake up in the playoffs and you play defense now you're certainly not gonna be at playoff level intensity for all 82 but you need to build some semblance of like this is who we are this is who we want to be so you can develop the chemistry the understanding all that for when you do have to dial it up in the playoffs it's not that you don't play defense at all in the regular season you just you're raining in a little bit that doesn't mean you don't try or you don't care about it yeah and I'll be really interesting to see how

1:01:54everyone responds to the lesser workload because our players like Jalen I think can be and he I think it was more locked in earlier in his career defensively when he wasn't asked to carry an offense I think he can get back to some of that even LeBron I think he has moments where he can be a really impactful team defender but he takes a lot of plays off because he's asked to carry a lot and he's he was 40 years 40 years old last year can he now that he's not you know having to carry so much of the offense give you more and then there's Joel and I don't know how much more he has to give because I think a lot of Joel's problems is just I'm not confident he can change direction quickly I don't necessarily think it's an effort thing I don't necessarily think it's a being in shape thing I think just when you don't have meniscus in your knee it gets hard to change direction especially when you are a seven foot 285 pound human being so it'll be really interesting to sort of test that and see well now if he's not carrying the offense like he traditionally has can he get back to certainly not where he was four years ago defensively but somewhere in between and
