Soil offer, excludes Alaska and Hawaii. Good morning, everybody. Welcome to the OPUnfilted Podcast. You're looking at a guy that is running on empty, Q-Jackson Brown on your home of Rocket Road. Last, we left you. I was doing a live stream with Ronnie Babes and Tony P. And behind me was that glory association. As you can see, that's the, that's the shithole we call New York City. We are backbitches. But man, Ron, the last two days were brutal. First of all, there's something blooming at the ocean that I'm highly allergic to. And at the end of every summer, it hits me. I don't know if it's the dune grass that's starting to seed. I don't know if it's those tiny little fucking purple little flowers that start blooming. But at the end of summer, I get a full on allergy attack
when I'm at the ocean. Full, full, full. I mean, you get here in my voice. You know where my voice, Rob? Hold on. Yeah. Like, I get severe, severe, severe allergies. The very, very beginning of spring, because I have, I'm three-pound, but yeah. Throughout the season, there's different fucking blobs. Like, what is blossoming? What's sprouting right now? What's blobs? I just said, it could be the dune grass itself, because I'm very allergic to grass in trees in general. Or it could be these stupid little purple flowers. And there's some little yellow flowers blooming out there, but something hit me and my son. The dune grass. What is it? It's not the dune grass, because that's been there the whole time. Something flowering. They start seeding. Oh. They grow these like stalks. Something gets me at the end of summer every year. And I've been back in New York about, I don't know, 12 hours, and I already feel better. But, you know, I actually can tell I'm scratchy and stuffy, but so that was problematic, because you know, when you get a good allergy attack, as you know, Ron,
it's like having the flu. And not to go on to have the flu. Wait a minute. You got health insurance. You never did, you never did one of those like you go to the skin doctor and they do those tests with the strips. I think you never did that. I went to anologist, right? He found out I was opi from opian Anthony. He was freaking out. All you want to do was talk about the opian Anthony show. And he hit me with all those needles. And I'm sitting there waiting for what I'm allergic to, right? I go, well, I'll tell you more stories, but what am I allergic to? He goes, oh, you're allergic to all, no, he goes, you're allergic to grass and trees. And I go, well, which grass and trees? And he said, all grass, all trees. Anyway, that time you and Anthony, I'm like, dude, I came to you to try to figure this shit out. Dude, I have, he said all trees and grass. All. Dude, that's like, like I have tree pollen. Tree pollen, dude, I have to be on medication. Right. So you have the double whammy.
Oh, yeah, man, you know, when I'm at such a park, and I want to lay on the grass and sheet metal and look up at the clouds, I'm a sneezey mess by the time I get off the ground. It's now we know why you got the puffy eyes. I got the puffy eyes. They're a little more open today. So that was problematic. And then it was like, it was time to pack up the entire beach house and bring it back to New York City, because the kids go back to school. It's the only reason I'm here. We pack up the car. Dude, I basically have a giddy pig on my lap as I'm driving down the line. I'm expressly. Can I just say something? Yeah. I truly believe at this point, New York City is the only city in America that hasn't gone back to school yet. Everyone has gone back to school. Oh, I know. Even fucking New York, New Jersey is opening day today. I have family members who are teachers in Massachusetts. I have friends in Texas. They started school the second week of August.
Right. By the way, anyone listening? Is there a school district that hasn't started school yet? Go ahead. It doesn't matter. The fact is, my kids start a couple days and that's it. So I'm driving down the Long Island Expressway with literally a giddy pig on my lap. My car's packed. I can't see out of anywhere. I can see out of my side views. Can't see how the rear view. And then all of a sudden, we're in traffic hell, even though we left at a decent time. And then all of a sudden, the navigation app goes, we found a faster route. I'm like, oh, that is beautiful. And then they hit you with this run. But it will be $23. So I just wanted to get home. So I said, yes, so that that knock you out to pay a toll. Yeah, I had to go do a little roundabout. And now I'm hitting a $23. I didn't even know I was paying $23 to get back and forth to the beach. I had no idea. And then I pulled over for gas. I want to thank our Lord and Savior Trump. I know we went over this on Friday. Gas was $4.25. Well, I was a lucky man. He went up Emerson Lake and Palmer on your home of Rocket Road.
I paid around $4.15. So I feel like I saved somebody yesterday. Listen, I'll just say this because you brought them up. Yeah, we know what else. You know what starts today? Canadian tariffs. Yeah, 50% tariffs start today, dude. And I'll just say this, Massachusetts main Vermont New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Michigan. It's their number one trading partner. They're going to get wrecked. Well, is it on patriotic to say that I'm not really into this war with Canada? It might not be in a patriotic by saying I'm not into this. Meet Greets, Kim Jong-un, Siji Peng, and Putin, nicer and better than the prime minister of Canada, our closest fucking ally. All right. All right. They're coming at us. They're coming at us, sir. And without Tony P to push back, they don't like this. They don't like that. You have a wide open fucking road here. They want the Tony P to be pushing back. So we'll wait for that. Yeah, but the tariffs start today with Canada,
our big war with Canada. Those people are awesome. When you live in Western New York, you do a lot of things with the Canadians, especially the Canadian broads, who come down over the border to try to find an American husband. No, those are the Chinese. Now, dude, when you're in Buffalo, it is quite obvious that the Canadian girls are a little looser because they're looking for an American man. You're warned of this when you move to Buffalo. Be careful. Have fun, but know that they have an agenda when they come down from Toronto. I don't know people have experience with Canadian women. I do. I'm from New England. Boston's right there, big hockey town. Canadian women. Yeah. In general, and this probably is not exaggeration, can probably drink you under the table. They have the mentality of a guy. Oh, yeah. They're really like the perfect girlfriend. They love sports. They actually play hockey. They will fucking punch you in the face.
And they drink. And they're hot. Like, yeah, you're beautiful. Can any women the best? No, they're beautiful. When I lived in Buffalo, I was really full. Did I get that right? Yeah, every Friday, they would come down from Canada. And wow, they were a good time. I'm not going to lie to you. And they're polite. Right. So I paid over $100 in gas just to get home. So thank you. Thank you to Trump for saving me 10 cents a gallon because it went down like to 415. Thank you for that. And then, Ron, my exit was closed. This is, this is, you know how much I hate New York City. And I mean, right, I wasn't even in New York for more than 10 minutes. And my exit was closed. So I had to go further south for an exit. So I went over that stupid pricing toll thing and they hammered me for another $9. You know what that's called? Comment. Comment. Because you've been so negative to the congestion pricing. Yeah. Thank you. Well, no, I live. I avoid the congestion pricing plan. But because my exit was backed up and there was some kind of construction,
my navigation said you got to go south. Suza went south. Big $9. That's what I'm saying. That's comment. That's comment. Oh, and I looked at my wife like, of course, of course. By the way, of course, they're hammering us already. I have a quick question. Yeah. You posted a video yesterday, like your feet either in like mud or dog shit. Yeah. Is that a real thing? Or you're just playing around trying to get clicks? No, that was real. Would you step in? Some kind of like black mud. By the way, old video. I just reposted it. Oh, never mind. Old video. I just reposted it because it popped up on my timeline. But basically I had sliders on and it was like a black oily mud. It was like a sludge. And then people don't know. You could go to my Instagram, OP radio. And then I washed my feet in a New York City puddle. I thought that was just recent. No, no, no, no. I shouldn't have just said it was recent, but you know, too much.
Yeah, a lot of this. So I'm back in New York. Oh, my God. It was it was it was a lot to get us out of there. Oh, my God. When you're suffering from a pretty serious algae attack and you got a load of car and clean up the house because my brother now takes over the house because he enjoys it. It was a lot. It was a lot. And then stuck in traffic and then the gas prices and then the and then they hit me with the congestion pricing toll right at the end of Jesus Christ. You don't take a claritan? I took some nightquills. I'm a little goofy right now. Little goofy, Ron. But honestly, feel a better already because I'm whatever is blooming out there. I'm away from. So yeah, but what about the blooming sourdough spores in your in your it doesn't smell like a dead body anymore. Oh, so that's gone. Because when I was visiting New York, thanks for bringing that up, Ron. That's a storyline that people are wondering about. Yeah, it's still smell like a rotting corpse. People are on pins and needles. One to know. Ron and it turns out that we put some baking soda down when
I came, you know, I come to the city like two this year was only this summer was only two days to get bills check out shit on shit. And I left some baking soda all over the place and now it doesn't smell like there was a corpse dying in this apartment. So we're going. So now it's on to doctor's appointments, meeting teachers and then finally getting the kids back at school Thursday. So oh my god, I'm just breathing finally like we did it. We did it. We had a hell of a summer and now we're back in this. What does that mean when you say, God, like like is it like policy nursing school to get make sure you have all your shots and shit all that round all that right? Because you know, when I was growing up, if you didn't have your shots, you were the weirdo. You get the shots. You're the weirdo. I can't I can't keep up with this crap. Dude, I remember, you know, as a kid, you know, tune your high elementary school doodie. But you can get your like your measles or shots. You couldn't go to school. Right. It wasn't like you could have like a religious exemption.
You didn't go to fucking school, dude. Right story. Right. So there you go. It's 2026. We upgraded our phones, our cars, even our coffee. So why are we still acting like pleasure is negotiable? At Pink Cherry, it's not. They've got hundreds of toys that actually deliver and whether you know exactly what you like or you're still figuring it out, there is a wide range to explore. If you'd rather skip the guesswork, their mystery boxes make it easy. They curate a mix for you so you can discover new favorites without overthinking it. And they ship discreetly with free shipping on orders over $59, which we love. So go to Pink Cherry.com and use promo code Chelsea to save up to 80% off site wide. Because life is hard, feeling good shouldn't be pick cherry.com because everyone deserves pleasure. Oh my gosh, you can't be serious. You think making the pick is the hard part? No, it's not. The pick takes like three seconds. You know what's hard? The sweat, the time between locking in and cashing out.
Yeah, you have a take. But in the end, it's not about the winners or losers. This is about us, man. Whether we're brave enough to sit through it. Don't fight the sweat, live in it. Because you are an underdog. Underdog. At least you're dog. The AUSLC. How are you? What do you got, Rob? That was my last 24 hours or so. It was insane. Insane. So first of all, I got home yesterday.
I was so tired. I was at the beach the whole day. Nice. So I didn't shower. Nice. So when you... And she balls? Well, the little gnats that are on them, ate up all the dead skin that was causing the itching. Can I do it? I'm like... And I interrupt you for what's saying. There was one other thing I wanted to say. And it's really fast. And it goes to your beach thing. I hate that I have to be back in the ERC. I'm not going to lie to you. I want to just be at that ocean or on the top of a mountain. I'll get there eventually. But the one thing I'm not going to miss is all the mosquito bites, healing on my body. We got crushed. Crushed this summer. I'll tell you what Coney Island has. They don't have mosquitoes. They got the fucking biting flies. Those that they hurt. And they have the flies at bite. Which means they're sucking your blood. Are those the green headed flies? Yes, I yes. Yes, I love them.
Those things will take a chunk of skin with them. One of them was biting me and I just caught it. And it was like... It was like Normandy. The beach in Normandy was blood everywhere. Where are all that fucking blood come from? Yeah. I want to thank Roger Chambers, first Fiverr, since moving back to New York City. Thank you, Roger. All any pocket money helps to keep this operation going. So we appreciate that. All right, so you got back from Coney Island. Go ahead. Right, I went swimming. You know, when you don't wash your hair after the ocean, it gets all natty and shit, right? Like I woke up this morning, like I almost had dreadlocks. Yeah. So I tried to comb my hair before the show. Right. I don't know if you can see that. Oh, Ron, you're just going bald. Dude, that just came out now, trying to comb my hair. Right. You're... You're...
You're... Oh my God, you look like Salvador Dali with that mustache. Look at that, Salvador Dali reference on the podcast. Off my phone, my phone. Oh my God. What's up, my mouth? No, Ron, you're going bald. It's okay. It's all right. Oh, your froze. Right, your froze. There you're back. Go ahead, right. So wait. All right, here. So apparently I inadvertently started a diet. A diet? Mm-hmm. I've been fucking hair in my mouth now. Yeah. Couple days ago, I bit my fork while eating. You ever done that? Yes. Dude, my fucking... My tooth is bruised. I bruised my tooth. I can't chew. Right. I can't even fucking chew. You understand? It's painful. Yeah, I totally understand that. Yeah, just...
Do you know what I'm having for breakfast? Huh. Gwaka Moli Pune. Ah, my God. Yeah, it's... Soil and green. It's people. That's... That was what came out of me this morning between algae, medication, and Popeyes. That's what came out of my... What? This morning before this. It's people. Run. This is what I'm for. By the way, I did try to chew. I tried earlier. It's not worth it, dude. Run. Run. Run. Run. Why not? Why not a little yogurt? That's soft. Don't do that. Right. For real, don't do that. Oh, my God. What about some soft oatmeal? What about a smoothie? Why would... No one eats guacamole first thing of the morning. All right. Hold on. You're right. By the way, I'm planning. I've had these injuries before. The last time it was when I was eating chicken wings.
Ronco. That's why I went right through the bone. It's a couple of days. And if you continue to... It just won't heal. Right. I already got an 8-hundred milligram hobby profanity like a real one. Well, hopefully that toothache lasts about six months because you need to lose a few pounds. So I am going to do shakes and smoothies. Oh, I got that shame. Thanks. By the way, I'm going to go to Shake Shack. Oh, I love Shake Shack. Why? It... It still got here in me. Okay. It was in the news today. I told you I'm going to have to go to shakes and smoothies. At least a couple days. By the way, it's probably not a bad idea. Not a bad idea to lose a few L-bays. This was in the news today on Shake Shack for Halloween, for the holidays. Yeah. It's releasing the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Shake from Shake Shack. Let me say it again. The Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Shake from Shake Shack. Right.
This Halloween seasonal treat has vanilla frozen custard. Oh, my God. Spun with Reese's Peanut Butter in sponge, poured into a crackable docked chocolate shell, and topped with whipped cream, mini peanut butter cups, and chopped Reese's pieces. Oh, my God. That's heaven on earth. So why was it in the news? Why? It's 2000 calories. And you just got off sugar, right? I'm pushing four months without sugar. Okay. Yeah. So it's 2000 calories and 200 grams of sugar. Now, is that a lot? That's a ton. Like 200 grams of sugar. Like, give me like how much of sugar someone had per day. Like, is that a weak swarth? I was just talking about this with my son on the way home, because they're looking at their sugar a little bit. Because of what I've been doing, you know, I'm like, look, you guys are kids. You guys are a burning machine calorie wise.
So you got to enjoy your lives, but at least get knowledge as you're getting older. But they're cutting down their sugar a little bit. And, you know, what they tell you, whatever they tell you for as, as how much sugar you can have a day, sorry, like I said, I'm running on empty. It's supposed to be way less than that. They made a deal with the FDA or the government or whatever. The cereal companies, candy companies. So the companies have any sugar. It's that bad for you. But it's not 200 grams. That's way over the top. 200 grams is probably a weak swarth. You know, you know, they say that it's incredibly, incredibly beneficial. If you go like on a three day water fast because that body literally will reset itself. Yeah. And one of the UFC fighters who ruptured his Achilles tendon, Achilles tendon healed after a three day water fast. It's a 72 hour fast. In 72 hours, your body goes, your body does what it would design to do. It heals itself.
There you are. And it launches everything out. So I want to do it. You know what they said, the hardest thing about it? Yeah. You actually physically detox from the sugar and you will have the shakes. They said the hardest thing about a three day water detox is detoxing from sugar. They said it's like your brain, a trapezi, like crack cocaine. And they said you will actually shake and sweat at night. And they said that's the sugar. Yeah. Like a fucking drug. Dude, yeah, but it's going to take more than three days. I went off sugar and made. Yeah, but three days not eating. You're still going to now coming off sugar is brutal. I was climbing the fucking wall. They say it's like being a drug addict. I was climbing the walls for at least two weeks. And then it started settling down a little bit. I got to go back to your Reese's peanut butter cups in that shake. Shake. Shake. For the Halloween season. This is how it was this summer because I went the whole summer without eating sugar.
Catch up on a hamburger. That's about it. That's not it. No, I know, but that's about it. I was a perfect, but no process of sugar and dramatically cut all sugars. But like you can't get away from ketchup in the summer if you can have hamburgers. But besides that, I pretty much no other sugar. Anyway, this is how sad my summer was. I was making my own peanut butter Reese's cups. I shouldn't call it Reese's. You get a very ripe banana round. I have to give this recipe out because it was so sad. Very ripe banana. You had me at ripe banana. That's sad. You mush it down until it's almost liquid. Then you get the sugar free peanut butter. From a health food store. Then you put a glob of peanut butter on top of the bush ripe banana. You mix it up really, really good. Will you bake it? Then you take your non sugar chocolate chips and put it in the batter that you just made.
And then you freeze it for an hour. That's what I was having as a treat this summer. You know where they serve stuff like that? At the nursing home because everyone has fucking diabetes. Exactly. You're eating diabetes candy with the fuck. And then I would go to the kids like, you know, it's pretty good. You know, but it's missing something. And that would be sugar. Oh my God, but there you go. I think we biologically weren't we weren't meant to be living on sugar. That wasn't our diet. If you look at these tribes like these isolated tribes. Yeah, they have perfect teeth. Yeah, they're all healthy. Well, I came back to New York City and this whole fucking town is screaming. The judge is back. It's 2026. We upgraded our phones, our cars, even our coffee. So why are we still acting like pleasure is negotiable? At Pink Cherry, it's not.
They've got hundreds of toys that actually deliver. And if you don't know where to start, their mystery boxes make it easy. Go to pinkcherry.com and use promo code Chelsea to save up to 80% sight wide because life is hard feeling good shouldn't be. Pink cherry.com because everyone deserves pleasure. They're down 21 with just over six minutes away. This is the moment, baby. This is the moment we separate the dogs from the boys. And if you ask me, I only got one question. Do you got that dog in you? Because it's never about the winners or the losers. But it is about the difference between those brave enough to put some action on the game. And those who just want to watch from the sidelines eating off brand pizza rolls. So sit down, lock in those picks, and trust that... OOOH! Dog in you! Underdog. At least you're dog. Thumbs may have been alive. It's fall in Jeep country. And during the drive into fall sales event, get a great deal on four by fours that refuse to be contained. Like Jeep Wrangler. Confidence built into every drive with the most awarded SUV ever.
Jeep Grand Cherokee. And freedom that can't be denied. With the open air freedom in Jeep Gladiator. After 85 years, it's no surprise that Jeep became America's SUV brand. Get a great deal during the Jeep drive into fall sales event. Jeep is one more awards over its lifetime than any other SUV brand. Jeep and the Jeep Grill or Registered Trademarks of FCA US LLC. The judge is back. I guess Aaron Judges back after three months after breaking ribs or something. And this town is... They're just screaming it on the streets. I'm like, I can't get for you. But can you help me unpack my car? No, but by the way, this is how they're promoting it. Yeah. He's returning on 9-11. Da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da. Oh damn! Yeah, that's how it's like... It's almost like they're like... By the way, if you don't think that's... That's not a coincidence. He's returning on 9-11. Watch him hit one out. So it's... You know, this is not up on us, but it's 25 years this Friday. 9-11 was 25 years. It's 9-11. So if you're subscribed to the opion filtered podcast, I just want to remind you yesterday because we had the day off
I went back into the archives. I found the show Being Anthony did on 9 11 25 years ago and it's on the podcast feed right now So please subscribe to the opion filter podcast and you could check that out I uploaded that yesterday, but with that said Ron a lot of controversy in New York I got it I got to dig in further but Giuliani's pissed at mom Donnie tell mom Donnie you shouldn't be at ground zero for the 25th anniversary at 9 11 But the problem is mom Donnie is the mayor of New York City now So it's kind of weird if he isn't there then Rudy Giuliani. He's had a weird 25 years He's kind of a weirdo now himself, but I go back to what Rudy Giuliani did for the city right after 9 11 He was a leader America's mayor America's mayor He was a leader. I tried to lure the brown shoe polish dripping into his face I tried to ignore him on the bed with that girl trying to open up his pants. I tried to ignore all that weird shit Oh, I forgot that one. Oh, yeah
And then he did a press conference at the four seasons, but it was a landscaping company. Yeah, I Choose to forget all that and remember that Giuliani 25 years ago was pretty much a hero for this city for sure So if he's speaking about the country He was a hero for the whole country. Yeah, you know what you're right You know, we focused on New York City because we you know, we were living around here back then I was actually living on Long Island still, but Yeah, yeah, he was the mayor for the whole fuck. Oh, they called him America's mayor and he was a front runner to be president at that He was So I think his mom Donnie's the mayor unpopular, but He's I think he's got to be there, but maybe you could put him in a cage or something or Maybe maybe dress him like Hannibal Lecter and just you know wheel him out Wheel him out and like one of those one of those things where like they're carrying cases of beer or put a shock Colorado by the way, I'm making this up on the spot. I like this bit now or put a shock Colorado like a dog shock collar and if he misbehaves, he just zap him a couple times
But I think he's got to be there unfortunately because he is the mayor of New York City, right? Oh First of all Fuck you, my downy like okay, you decide you want to go to 9-11, but Then you decide you don't want to Marching these Rayleigh Day Parade, which is the largest parade in America, but then you'll march into Dominican Day Parade you're It's it's not a good fucking look if you're anti-Semitic or not you are Raising the temperature of anti-Semitism by by what you're doing right so and Why by the way, there's a petition for him not to show up. Yeah, I think it's at like It's over 10,000 now. I had probably a hundred thousand. They don't want them there because if you go back to the record Before he was mayor when he was a rapper when he was rapping about non bread in the Bungale hood He was saying not nice things about 9-11
Well, here's the problem New York City when you're the mayor I mean this place is truly a melting pot. It's it's insane. It's insane What kind of melting pot New York City is and you know whiteies quickly becoming a minority in this city So if you're the mayor you got to be the mayor for everybody so You know if you had these big fucking sweeping issues then probably being mayor of New York City wasn't your calling He probably should have figured something else out, but he decided to become the mayor of New York City So he should do the right thing and and and and march in every fucking parade and do everything no matter what he believes in He made he made a huge public statement by not marching in the Israeli Independence Day parade first mayor to ever do it Blockers in America, but then he decides to march in every other parade. It's he's making a point He yeah, I don't know New York is voted for him and when you say Opie is he unpopular? I don't know about that. I think the polls say he's do he is pretty popular in New York City
Yeah, because every time we post a video about Mondani we get crushed in the country probably crushed Listen, maybe it's maybe it's where you live, but I live in a story at Queens, New York. Yeah This was his district. This was he was a councilman in a story before he became mayor Dude here in a story they think this guy can walk out of water. He can do it. It's almost like a cult figure They love him here. They in a story. He they love him. I mean that's all five burrows So at this point my money's got to really think about this 9-11 thing on Friday. It's 25 years It's not look every year is important obviously, but when these big anniversaries come about like 25 years That's a big deal He's really got to think about it because if he's gonna take a attention away from the moment Then he shouldn't be there because if he's if he goes down there he's going to get booed He'll be booed by a son and my family's down there a lot of FD and Y families down there a lot of authority families down there
All those people will be booing Mondani. Do we know do we know the remarks he made we'd have to go back and look I Mean I'm sure they weren't good. No, they weren't good. I'm just saying. I don't know if you actually know the remarks I'll be honest with you Ron. I got to do a little more research on it, but You know the first stab at this it he really should he really should think about not going He really should not not go because it's gonna he's gonna take way too much attention away from the moment And that's what he comes down to and he could even say something like that with all the controversy and all the people speaking up I feel like you know I'm gonna be in the way so I'm going to Respectfully decline and not be there, but and then say some blah blah blah Harump's yet. Harump around around around What do you do Mel Brooks? Yeah, I like to yeah when I think of government and politicians that Harump Yeah, that's why I hear when these super politicians to the speak I just hear Harump Harump Harump
Yeah, got that Mel Brooks by the way Since you brought up at speed 25 year anniversary of 9-11 on Friday. Yeah, New York. Dude is a huge Investigative journalism report coming out the New York Times. Yeah the federal government and the New York State Department of Health The the EPA whatever federal government and the New York State Department of Health both said very early on The air is healthy. It's perfectly healthy to breathe They just discovered 14,000 pages of documents that said absolutely not everybody knew it was toxic Everybody knew there was a spess this on roofs and blah blah blah blah blah. It's coming out It's coming out. I may be coming out today the New York Times is and it's a huge deal By the way the point is it's a massive cover-up This is why like people always try to ask my political You know thoughts. I hate them all they fucking lie to us. I don't care what side you're on
I was I was in the city 25 years ago and we were coming in and and doing our show during that whole Thing when that when the pile was still burning it burned for days people forget that there was giant smoke going up It's been months days. Yeah, no dude it burned for like six months. All right, but the first few days to a week or two It was still a significant fire fair enough. Yeah, fair enough But the one thing and you know, I was in Midtown. So the radio station was on 57th Street So I mean someone could do the math how far that is from ground zero. It's a couple miles few miles um You could smell death in the air and you could smell burning plastic all the way up here Who were there right mind thought when they were smelling literal literal death and plastic thought that that air was clean Get the ugly I was living on 93rd Between west and avanary Riverside Park and I could clearly smell The chemical smelt the chemicals The wood and then and then a smell
That you couldn't put your finger on. Oh, no, we all knew that was that was yet the smell of death. No, that was death That was thousands of bodies it was it was a smell you really couldn't put your finger on you like oh, man We all knew yeah, it was that you we were like yep, that's death in the air And yeah, and I described the chemical smell as plastic is the easiest way to explain it you could smell like a plastic And it also smelled like burnt wood like like a like a you would do what a like a like a bonfire right So look the officials back then They did the numbers. They're like if we tell these fucking people that this air is bad We're fucked this city's fuck financially, right? So what are you gonna do? So they didn't give a shit about your life my life anyone's lives They're like we got to keep the city running so we got to tell everyone this air is fucking clean Fuck me. Oh, be they said from Canal Street down From Canal Street down is Wall Street Wall Street is the financial capital Of the world right if you shut down Wall Street you would probably collapse the world economy
You don't think they didn't think about that. Yeah, so they So someone had to tell them well, you know if we don't tell them the air is bad Thousands of people are gonna die eventually from this and they they made the decision. They made the decision I think they wait important. I know like I think they wait like consequences of both and are like the consequences of shutting down Wall Street Is so severe to the world economy right? To New York City's economy right that hey listen A few thousand people dying to cancer is is it Is it okay? And I think they said yeah, yeah, we're gonna have to what we'll deal with it when it comes around No, they may it's coming around now by the way people are still dying from it They make these decisions all the fucking time. You're just a number you're a number to the government Are you kidding me by the way? They the big the big seas right? 11 right prostate right skin right Uh, and I think it was like liver long. Yes long. So yeah, oh yeah, that's hey. Yeah, so
prostate I didn't see that one but yeah, and there's a few others but Uh, prostate skin cancer and lung cancer if you were below canal street it's you it's from 9-11 and by the way Why just below canal street? I I lived on the upper west side. I could smell it What are you gonna do? Shut down. It had The smell was prominent anyone that was around 25 years ago. It was prominent man. I was there 9-11 it was a beautiful clear sky I remember at one point after the towers fell um There was a police officer a new york city police officer on his bike And he was he looked like a ghost. He was covered in white chalk right I'm not joking and you could see it when he's driving. It's coming off him right the only thing black on him was his sunglasses right no i'm not joking no i know and he was escorting two ambulances right who i'm racing By the way no that was the only there was the roads were closed no subways no buses hours that's the only things you would see on the road hours later It looked like i'm not joking dude it looked like the zombie apocalypse oh yeah People if you worked in lower Manhattan and you lived on the upper west side or you lived in the Bronx Or you lived in Harlem you had to walk home right thousands tens of thousands of people
Are not walking on the side everyone's in the street because there's no traffic And there's thousands upon thousands of people shuffling they're exhausted covered in dust With their heads down Dejected Going what heads just happened it feels like the apocalypse you have to walk home. There's no trip You And also the images of People deciding I'd rather jump out a window than burn to death Uh the jumpers And opi they have life footage of the firefighter standing right outside before entering the building and you would hear by the And the firefights would go like that and then someone said and you hear someone goes and someone goes what was that it goes another jumper Yeah, you would the sound of them hitting the ground I a couple things on that so first of all for the people that Have no memory of this i wonder how many people in New York City literally have no memory of 9-11 happening
They granted me you're just reading about it or seeing the footage on tv because it's 25 years ago man Um It was exactly today is an exact replica of what they must crystal guys Clear in perfect temperature kind of the warm Today is exactly how it was 25 years ago and someone's going well. It's only the eighth i understand but you know it's the That's how it's the level of weather coming out of it right Anyway, Ron um Yeah, man, it's uh it's i mean And i want to say this yeah Yeah The piles were so dense Don't forget the pile you know when you know stories underground It took them Nine months to put the fire out yeah you had nine months yeah of smoldering chemicals No, it's yeah, by the way, we didn't go out three days, they go on weeks. It took nine months. Yeah, the massive giant pumes That was lasted weeks actually right until they could
Uh get that down and then if you see the old pictures Half half the first responders have their bass gone they have to stoned They just don't you know old-school motherfuckers I guess and apparently a few weeks Apparently a few weeks after the towers went down right New York City and the federal government gave the all clear that the air was okay, right They'd end and here's the thing They knew it wasn't because the New York Times discovered 14,000 of documents just sitting in boxes in city hall and New York times have them and It got so bad Mayor Meddani has now invested 35 million dollars Listen to this. This is how serious it is mayor Meddani has invested 35 million dollars to take all those documents And put them on digital records so the so the public has access to them So there you go 25 years almost to the day It was the ear was super toxic. They knew it and said it was okay to breathe
That's your government working for you You know and you know big props to the FDNY NYPD the port authority those guys were real tough guys like you mentioned the real tough You know anyone that has to deal with social media you have to deal with these fake fucking tough guys That think they're tough behind a stupid keyboard, but there are real tough guys out there and those guys that you know fought the Thought that 9-11 thing down there at ground zero Those are real tough guys that we should focus on They sacrificed their What happened hello Okay, they sacrificed their life. Sorry about that. I touched. Hey, you know what? He sacrificed their life So you know what run? I like that. We work things out in front of everybody Mamdani stay home stay home. Let me ask you something. Mamdani stay home. Let me ask you something. Yes Your buddies with Pete Davidson Well, I used to be well. Yeah, has he ever brought up? You know Pete Davis is dad
Well, yeah, I yeah tons of stuff He made a lot of jokes about you know his dad dying on 9-11 That's how he handled it Talked about how he got a PlayStation because his dad died so he was like a little torn like wow my dad died But this is pretty cool. I got a place to just to let you know. Yeah Pete Davidson Uh, very young one me one of the first catch members, but To be that young and that's a no means you have to be on you had to be in the comedy clubs at a very early age Happened overnight like Pete Davidson was in the comedy couple years. Yeah, and he was standing out Because first away super talented. Let's get that out of the way But Pete David and stood out because he first away was young right? He was doing cutting edge humor about his dad dying in 9-11 as a kid and people like whoa Because he has such a high emotional maturity for for that speech so young Yeah, that got him to snl. Yes So the so the people out there that are fended by jokes go fuck yourself like you can joke about anything if you make a Clever and funny people don't understand that with uh with the stand-up comedy these days all right
I got to go. I don't feel that great But we got through it man running on empty today back in New York City I got to get kids to doctors appointments and all I teach your conferences today It's nuts But I do want to remind people because we just talked about 9-11 a little bit Uh if you subscribe to the opian filtered podcast yesterday because we took the day off. I mean we uh It happened in the morning and then we were on in the afternoon I mean right now we were on like to you know four or five hours later. Yes Oh, that whole that whole show is up on the on the podcast feed opian filtered all right opi i remember
The first tower being hit and it was all over the news right and i'm watching live on news And the second plane came in i watched that live yeah And it took my breath away and i started crying And i called my cousin immediately who's a photographer in downtown I'm like dude you catch on this and he's like do it. I'm on the roof recording it. Yeah I when i saw the second plane hit the tower live on air It took my breath away. I'm like okay. We're under attack doctor. I said Dr. When i said oh that wasn't a plane that wasn't a pilot era I said to we're under attack took my breath away. I'm like You know we're not gonna say i'm ready to enlist right All right, but that said i gotta say it.
