About this episode
There are so many times a day that I find myself wanting to do a thing but unable to make myself actually get up to do the thing. And it’s frustrating as hell.
When this happens, sometimes I benefit from making the thing as simple and accessible and cut and dry as possible.
Other times, though, I prefer the opposite.
I find that when I make things a whole ass event - it makes doing them more attractive.
Getting enthusiastic about eating vegetables gets a hell of a lot easier when you grill those bad boys real nice, and drizzle them with a nice balsamic. Cleaning is a lot more attractive when your blasting Y2K hip hop hits and your best friend is helping you reorganize your pantry. Walkin the dog becomes less of a chore when it becomes a time to show off my new sneakers or chat with the neighbor about the latest local gossip.
This advice isn’t the most efficient advice, in fact it forces you to slow down, and hone in on the most enjoyable part of the process. That said, efficient isn’t always the best way to do things. In my experience, enjoyable will always outweigh efficient.
