Tony, we started this show like 10 seconds too late because there was a tractor that just drove past us just moments before we hit record. So we're already, we just started and we're already late. Yeah, so welcome everybody to the Bold Predictions show. This is Texas Week Bold Predictions. Tom, I guess if it's Texas you've got to go bolder, but also since it's Texas you can

1:06probably bring the boldness down. Like how do we do this? This is a, I'm coming with a little bit of extra yeehaw on this week's prediction. So, so there'll be a little bit of a dash of salt. Here we go. There was no winter last week. We tied at two. I was going to say, I looked at my list and I came up with two and I should have had three, you threw in an exception on my each three different quarterbacks will throw a touchdown. And this is why we do that. Spike, yes. However, I did get more bold predictions correct. Uh-huh. And how many points did you get? I got one for each of those two bold predictions that I got, whereas you got one bold prediction correct. So who won? Well, I got the bolder prediction correct. So I think everyone knows. Good, thanks. Would you like to go first? Sure. Tony, I would love to go first. Now Tony, Jeremiah Smith. Yep. Two games against Texas last two years. 46 total yards for saving. I know what I said on a show earlier this week that he would beat that and that would

2:07be my bold prediction. What did I say about the Yeehaw, Tony? Extra. Extra Yeehaw. Doubles that this game, at least 92 yards for saving for Jeremiah Smith in this game. So his career average is what you're projecting. Yes, what's his career average against Texas? He's going to have 120 yards within the first 18 minutes, 25 minutes of the game. You know what? If you'd like to make that your first bold prediction, I will allow it. You're going to have to go 100 yards. And I think that's still, that's easy, because they're going to feed the ball to him. This is a different Texas coordinator. They're going to attack him differently. They're going to do different things. So I won't accept 92 yards without some caveats being the first catch between 17 and 34 yards does not kill 100 yards. That's fine. 100 yards. And really, that's not bold. However, his history against Texas, that's, it's fine. Don't worry about it.

3:08It's fine. We'll find about it afterwards. We don't want to take up the entire show doing that. Jeremiah Smith, 100 yards receiving, which he's done a lot of know. I believe 11 times in his career, 15 times, 12, 13 times in his career. Just remember that, remember that folks, all right. My first one, here's something that has never happened, whereas, well, never happened against Texas. Oh, so somebody hasn't happened against Texas. That makes it bold. OK, well, you know, if you're prepared to, whatever it is, double it and add eight. Go on. No, you will admit that this is bold. Bo Jackson rushes for 100 yards against Texas. He did that the rest for 100 yards, I think, three or four times last year. Uh-huh. Fewer than Jeremiah Smith had 100 yards receiving. Well, I, or State famously has not rushed for 100 yards against Texas, either of the last two meetings. Uh-huh. I am saying Bo Jackson has 100 yards rushing against Texas this week. How many times has Jeremiah Smith had 92 yards receiving against Texas in the last

4:10couple of years? None. Oh, interesting. Bo Jackson had zero yards rushing against Texas the last two years. Uh-huh. Well, that was a, this is personal misnash. You have to have 50 times that. Well, Tom, if I'm going to allow 100 yards receiving from Jeremiah Smith, you absolutely have to allow 100 yards rushing for Bo Jackson and their story. But people are going to come through the phone right now and strangle you. That's fine, but I will absolutely allow that excluding any runs of 17 to 34 yards between minutes five and zero of the first quarter. We've already excluded the exclusion. So if you would not accept any exclusions for Jeremiah Smith, I cannot do fairness and devotion to the viewers do anything other than what you've done. So okay, that's fine. Then I'll add eight to it 100 net yards. No, no, again, no, no, 100 yards. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, we were excluding the exclusions except for the exclusion that you put on where you put it at a date. So no, I'm just getting to the 100 yards because that's also a no number.

5:14That is it. That is so. Now what is your next one as we just move on and everybody accepts this? Julian Sain throws at least three touchdown passes, including one at least 34 yards. Okay. I mean, again, this is a normal game, but this is not a normal game, right? This is a normal game for Julian. I do think, and we'll talk about when we start talking about our predictions and not in the show, but just a hit. I'm starting to feel better about our high stage chances. I mean, I think they're going to come within three touchdowns of Texas. But so Julian Sain throws for three touchdowns. You're saying less likely there's a running clock in the fourth quarter. That's your sense now. And one of them has to be between 17 and 34. No, I said one at least one longer than 34. Oh, okay. And one longer than 34 yards. Longer than 34. I'm not listening. I said initially, I said at least 34, but I'm going to make it longer than 30. Okay. All right. All right. I think that's going to be just one.

6:15I think there's a good chance. Well, I think it's a good chance. It's Jeremiah Smith, but if it's not, it's Devon McEwan. We'll talk about Devon McEwan a little bit. No, we'll wait. Go on. Sounds like we both might. How about this one, Tom? J-Timons two impact plays. Impact play being the bass break up, tackle for loss, interception, break up. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Four fumble, fumble recovery. Covering. I think that's a good one. I think that's reasonable for a guy who's, you know, you could absolutely see it happening. But for a true freshman who I don't think he had an impact play in week one, did he? How many did he have week one? Two? Oh. So literally every game in his career. Oh, oh, oh, okay. Don't ask questions. I don't want to give you the answer, too. That's, yeah. Well, let's. You took the finger off the chest. You should print that up on a t-shirt. Don't ask questions. You don't want me to give you the answer, too. Now I'm wondering if we're going to have a thunderstorm.

7:16That's what I'm just wondering. Yeah, it's whipping up, but we'll be fine here probably. I might not be the only one who's a little disappointed with your baldness and your level of honesty. Oh, really? Well, if I get hit by lighting, so will you. We're at a metal table. So all right. So that's. Frustrating? Well, I think we've all learned a valuable lesson. Do you know one of my two points was last week? What was it? J. Timins will have two in back place. But you that wasn't one you went with? No, it was. Oh, oh, one of your two, one pointer. Yeah. Okay. Well, I guess he probably, I guess we probably need to specify. We'll take out PBUs. How about that? Well, that's the best one. Yeah. That's the one's the two of. Oh, no. You could take out a section of time, like a quarter of a quarter. I'll take out the second quarter. A quarter of a quarter.

8:17I'll take out the second quarter. How about a quarter? I'll take out the first half of the second quarter. Mine is first half of the second quarter. Well, Gully compared to that, this is the rest of mine are going to be 17 pointers. But really, Tony, Ohio State has averaged in the last two meetings with Texas 3.4 and 2.3 yards per carry. They will exceed either of those by 1.1 yards per carry, averaging at least 4.5 yards per carry in this game. And I will remind you, sacks come off of rushing yards. Well, and that's the only reason I'm saying, OK, because I do think Gully and Sains are going to get sacked a handful of times in this one. So I could see the running game averaging 5 yards per carry, but then dropping back down to like four because of the sacks. And I do think there will be some sacks. There are always a couple of a few, maybe one or two too many. So you're saying at least 4.6 yards per carry.

9:194.5 yards per carry. 4.5 yards per carry. And frankly, Tom, there might be a winning number for Ohio State in this game. Might be. No way to tell. Well, I mean, at some point in Saturday night, we'll be able to figure it out. Now, I know my last bowl prediction was something that happened last week. This bowl prediction is also something that happened last week. But you've already done this. You've already had a Jeremiah Smith bowl prediction that happened last week that you've used for this week. And that is Jeremiah Smith, the two touchdowns. So if someone was to predict three touchdowns, which would be significantly more difficult than one more baller. Three touchdowns in one game. How many times has he done that in his career? As he doesn't want to nuts. I think it might be nuts. None. None. Yes.

10:19So that would, I think, to me make that a three pointer if Jeremiah Smith was to score three touchdowns in a game. No two touchdowns would be a two pointer. No, I think two touchdowns might be a once. I mean, that's what I have. I have a one pointer. Yeah, that's why you will. I will allow you that for one point, as long as Jeremiah Smith scores three touchdowns for three. Well, we're going to have to discuss that one when we get to it with some caveats and some. Are we? Yes, we are. Well, then in that case, whatever cave you had a plice to mine also applies to yours. You're asking for two more points. So I can be. Why? Are there be any applications? He's scoring a whole mother touchdown. So he's done. And I quote, nuts. I think so he's showing me to take it off. I'll just, I'll just, I'll get rid of it. I'll say Jeremiah Smith won touchdown. No, if you want to throw some sort of a qualifier on this, just remember, I'm. Qualifiers will come home to roost.

11:19I am, I am perfectly fine with allowing you to touchdowns for one point here. Yeah, I don't, I don't think three is worth three for Jeremiah Smith. Three is worth now without qualifiers is what I'm saying. All right, I'll tell you what I will. So we will, that's fine. We'll go for no, that's fine. We'll have two touchdowns for one point and I will have three touchdowns for two points. Okay, that's fine. I will do that. I will modify what my two pointer remove one of the clauses that I had. It's okay. I have a three pointer. So, okay. Oh, no, no, no, I'm making it more difficult. I mean, you should. I am, don't worry, don't worry. We'll see. Oh, it's good. So then we're going to my fourth one pointer. Is that where we are? Yeah. Or did you want to know I need to make my fourth one pointer. So my fourth one pointer is it'll, how is it, it makes a field goal of 50 yards or more? I was just gonna say if you want to have a field goal, that would be fine because it didn't happen last week. That's true. So should that be my two pointer?

12:20No, no. 50 yard field goal for Ohio State in this game. Yes. Minus, say the last two minutes. No, no. Hasn't happened since 2019. You're very lucky. It's only one point. Now, very impressive to predict something that has its happened since 2019. I'm going to predict something that has never happened in the history of college football. 2018, 2017, 2016. You can go back in time. And I bet you that you're never going to find this before this Saturday. And that's a car you wilder sack. I mean, I have to allow this because it's picking one person to have a sack and generally outside of real edge cases that is generally considered sufficient. So. And we saw in place 17 snaps. Who knows how many, it may only be seven or eight snaps in this one. Yeah. One point. I mean, I know this is not going to happen,

13:22but you know, he impressed me last week. I'm going to go with my final one pointer being a Devon Sanchez Interception. We're going into his home state of Texas. And this is another one. Any time you pick out a player to have an interception, it's just all right. No, no, has to be between 17 and 13. There's nothing like that. It's just accepted. All right, good, good. My final one pointer time. Devon McEwan, a 50 yard reception. I was going to go 40. I was like, no, no, no, no. This is Texas. Let's go on a boulder. Let's go on a boulder. 25% boulder. I'll say 50 yard reception. Okay. I think that is certainly sufficient for one point. I, all right. What's the good one? Okay, so your three pointer has Devon McEwan involved somehow. It indirectly. He is a potential participant in my three pointer, yes. I'm going to assume that was you. Are you going to be in front of someone? No. So you want to hear my two pointer?

14:23Not particularly, but I'm sure you're going to tell us anyway. Let's go with a 50 yard special teams play. Last week you had a 34. Not including a field goal. So a return. Yes, a return of, of some sort, whether that's a blocked kick or a public turn or kickoff return. Because one pointer last week was a couple of yards that we established. Yeah. That's so we can understand. Yeah. All right. Yeah. I think that's, I think that's fine. That's sufficient for a two pointer. All right. Okay. So you want to tell everyone your three pointer? My three pointer is three touchdowns from Texans. So isn't that fascinating? Let me tell you my three pointer. One player from Texas has a play of at least 17 yards from Scrimmage. Okay. One player from Texas has a 34 yard play from Scrimmage. And another has a 51 yard play. 17 or more 34 or three different players, three different players each from listed hometown in the state of Texas

15:27has a play from Scrimmage of 17 or 34 or, 17 or more, 34 or more, if it's one. Now, they have three plays of 51 or more and it's three different guys that counts. I'm counting fumble and interception returns, but not special teams plays. Okay. That's fairly that you get to throw in Riley Petty-John Devinsanches. Yeah. Riley Petty-John, Devinsanches, and you're taking pierce if he has long. Well, it seems like it's going to happen. But, you know, on offense, really you're trying to get Brock Boyd, Devon McEwan, Legend Bay. Really, that's probably it unless you get something on defense. Yeah, I don't even know what else it would be on offense, but like, you know, we've got to be special. And we've already agreed that my three-pointer is good. Did we? We have not yet. I don't know why you would ask your mind first, and then tell me yours so that we can accept yours. I just, well, because we've accepted mine, so that's good. So now we can go back and revisit yours. So we can go back and not accept mine.

16:2817, 34, 51-yard plays. I think it needs to be at least two players involved. How about that? Okay. So it can't just be three touch-answer Devon McEwan. If it's two from McEwan and one from any other Texan player. Although, I mean, the Texan has three touchdowns. That feels like it should be three points. Well, I mean, it sounds like someone's got a kick to the fieldsters. Because I mean, if Jeremiah Smith having three touchdowns is two, and we know that that's likely to happen. You have so many guys, and we're not even asking this score one. Unless you want to make it one Texan scores. I certainly don't. I actually don't. This is acceptable because in order of likelihood, the likelihood is like Devon McEwan and Legend Bay, and then Brockwood down here. Well, I guess I do get to open up the entire defense as well. You do.

17:28And also special teams. Yeah. So, well, I mean, that's Legend Bay. Yes. Yes. All right. No, that's very interesting. Well done all around now. Tom, what kind of bonus or prediction have you got for me? So last year, Tony, at least 10, at least last year, seven defensive linemen showed up on the stat sheet for Ohio state against Texas. Seven last year, defense linemen. At least two defensive linemen showed up on the stat sheet for Ohio state this year. Wow. That's, and that's also including participation. No, a stat sheet. They have to have at least a tackle, a tackle for loss. All right. That's pretty good now. This is not like hockey where you can chew up for, you know, like a penalty minutes or basketball, you get a foul or something like that. You've got to be something good. All right. I will accept that.

18:28The bonus for you. And this is a little dangerous. Julian's saying as at least two completions. Okay. To somebody that could be to Iowa state, that could be to Texas. Okay.
