This is democracy now, democracynow.org, the war and peace report. I'm Amy Goodman. We're continuing our conversation with Amnesty International, Secretary-General Agnès Calamard. On Sunday, tens of thousands of women around the world marked International Women's Day by demonstrating against gender-based violence and calling for an end to the U.S.-Israeli war in Iran. And today marks the opening of a major United Nations summit, the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women. This all comes a week after Iraqi human rights defender and feminist advocate Yanar Muhammad was assassinated in Baghdad in Iraq. She was killed in an attack on her.
