When Strength Runs Out

About this episode

Mark 14:37 'and he came and found them sleeping'. Jesus came back to the garden and found the disciples asleep, not because they didn't care, but because the battle was beyond their ability and their strength. Jesus was not surprised. He was revealing a truth that they needed to see. They wanted to stand with Him and they meant it with all their hearts, but human ability cannot sustain spiritual warfare. Jesus was showing them that the future would demand something they didn't possess. This wasn't condemnation. It was a revelation. The spirit was willing but their flesh was weak. God allows you and I to enter moments where our limits are exposed so that we learn to stop trusting in ourselves. When our strength runs out, the beauty of this whole thing is that God steps in. Let the fire of trial bring you to a dependence on Christ alone, where true strength is found. It's time to pray.
