About this episode
Hebrews 4:1 says, *"Let us therefore fear, lest a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it."* There remains a rest for the people of God.
This rest is not in activity. It's actually surrender. To enter his rest is to cease from your own works, as God once did from his. It's the end of trusting your own strength, your own thinking, your own ability to endure.
The disciples discovered this truth in the garden. Jesus said to them, *"Sleep on now and take your rest."* He was pointing them to where true strength is found. God never intended you and I to have to finish this journey alone and in our own strength.
It's so important today that we learn to Lay Down Self Effort and enter into the rest and the strength that Jesus Christ alone can provide us.
It's time to pray.
