Hey, it's Rabbi Menachem Siderson, thanks for joining me on today's edition of What's A Jew To Do, where we explore relevant and concise halacha. Does it ever work to cover your head with your hand if you don't have a Yamaka for whatever reason? So the halacha is that if you want to make a brochha, let's say before you eat or drink, you have to have your head covered. If you're not wearing a Yamaka and you want to make a brochha, it's really not a good idea to take your own hand and cover your head, but you could actually ask someone else to use their hand, because that's not part of your body, and then cover your head. That actually counts as covering your head. So again, if you're stuck, let's say you're in the swimming pool, you don't have a Yamaka on you, then you want to take a drink of water, you actually have your friend cover your head with their hand, and then you can make a brochha. Another thing you could do, by the way, is if you don't have a Yamaka, but you have any sort of garment or any sort of cloth, you could use that as well, or even a napkin, or if you have a sleeve, you could also use a sleeve that you pull over your hand and put that over your head, that could also work. If you're traveling and you're stuck and there is nothing, no way that you could get something

to cover your head with for whatever reason, then you need to make a brochha, so that our post can move, say that you could rely on just covering your head with your hand, again, when you're really, really stuck. That's all for today. I hope you enjoyed. If you have any questions or prefer the discussion, please give me a call. I'd love to hear from you. 303-386-704, have a great day.
