Hey, it's Rabbi Menachem Siderson, thanks for joining me on today's edition of What's A Jew To Do? Where we explore relevant and concise halacha. At what age do we start to put on keepers? So there are actually some posts can be mentioned that even at a very young age, even before three, they're upsharing, a child should begin putting on a Yamaka, some say maybe from the time that they begin to talk to whoever that's certainly not the common custom, common custom is that a child begins to wear a Yamaka on the day that he turns three. Really, there's no connection between a upsharing, cutting of the hair or turning three, not everyone has an upsharing when they turn three, some people just cut their hair even before that, but there's no connection between that and putting on a Yamaka. It's just a custom that has developed and it's not a bad thing, it's a beautiful thing, and it is pretty standard. So therefore, if for some reason someone doesn't have an upsharing, or didn't have that, obviously they should still put on the Yamaka at that appropriate time. And in general, it's a good age to start training a child to wear the Yamaka and try as
