West High Students Serve 3K Meals to Homeless

During lunch on Tuesday, about a dozen kids from the Interact Club knocked out 120 lunches in just 20 minutes. This monthly gig started in the fall of 2023, and they've now hit a huge milestone of 3,000 meals total. The club meets Weekly right in teacher John Rulens' classroom, brainstorming ways to help out while munching their own snacks. Students have been sponsoring the group since it kicked off at West in 2013, and he says these kids are always going above and beyond, whether wonder, in class, or after school. Everyone's feeling the impact. Freshman Emily Brubaker loves that they can stay in school and still feed those who need it most.
