0:0025 years after the attacks on September 11, 2001, folks are gearing up for the 9-11 Memorial Stair Climb Challenge. It's all about remembering those who were lost that day. Anchorage Fire Chief Doug Shraige mentioned, it's meant to be a somber and meaningful way to reflect on what happened. The Anchorage Fire Department is taking part at the Alaska Club West. The drill is simple. Each person climbs as many fights of stairs as they can in 11 minutes. This is the direct nod to the firefighters and police officers who were climbing those towers as they tragically fell. It's more than just a remembrance though. Shraige pointed out it's also a competition. Firefighters will be in full gear, tackling the challenge of climbing 110 stories to see who can do it fastest. They do it because those heroes did it. Later in the day at 6 pm, the Anchorage Fire Department is hosting a 9-11 Memorial Service. They're inviting the public to come out and join them at the Alaska Fallen Firefighter Memorial.
