We are often running on a glorious Saturday morning. I'm your host to Murray Lie from the circus sportsbook in downtown Las Vegas.

Yes, there's a little pep in the step. It is March. We are getting closer to the start of the NCAA tournament. It is the final Saturday of the regular season. And believe it or not, boys and girls, we will have an auto bid handed out tonight for the NCAA tournament. The first ticket punched officially to the NCAA tournament will be handed out tonight in the Ohio Valley. What a busy day. What a busy Friday. We will get to what unfolded last night. Did Miami cap off a regular season undefeated? Did a superstar get traded in the NFL and did the United States pull off a magical cover in the World Baseball Classic? But we'll get to that in just a little bit. We like to do things in order here on this program. It's a Saturday. It's a busy Saturday. Let's get you ready for everything you need to know for today. Let's dive into the biggest games of the day.

Yeah, yeah, I know the point spread is huge, but guess what? Duke and North Carolina get to play basketball against each other tonight. It is one of the best. If not the best rivalry in all of college sports, dare I say all of sports. What a finish we had just a couple of weeks ago at the Dean Dome is North Carolina was able to win courtesy of a late three pointer. Unfortunately, the news, not ideal for North Carolina yesterday. We were wondering if Caleb Wilson projected top five pick would play tonight against the Duke Blue Devils. Unfortunately, the awful news came down yesterday that Caleb Wilson out for the remainder of the season as he was practicing. He broke his thumb. So North Carolina's Caleb Wilson will not play tonight and he will not play the remainder of the college basketball season. And that's why we have the point spread at what it is here tonight as the Duke Blue Devils

right now, a 17 or 17 and a half at one spot favorite. Will this be a very popular play in the circa college hoops challenge? We will see all those picks will be coming your way in the final hour of the program. But Hubert Davis in the North Carolina tar heels. Yes, they got to win a month ago, but they know they're going to have their hands full tonight against a very motivated Duke Blue Devils squad. I don't think anything's changed in regards to how they're playing. They're a really good defensive team. The first time that we played in their sound defensively, they're really good on the ball. They're very, very few times. They have to get into rotations. They limit teams to watch out every possession. They defend without valid. They're all offensive in. The way they execute their stances at a high level, whether it's strings, the paints in which they run of the passing ability from Caleb all the way to their big shot making

ability. Their ability to consistently scoring a paint, but also for three and so they can die consistently around the year. I tried to get in this in front of this freight train that is the Duke Blue Devils earlier this week. That did not work out well at one point. NC State was tied with Duke and then Duke went on like a 41 to 17 run and it was ugly quickly. Since Duke lost to North Carolina on February 7th, if you go to barktorbic.com and go to February 8th, Duke is the number one team in all of college basketball. Once again, the big news and the unfortunate news for Hubert, Hubert Davis is squad. Caleb Wilson broke his right thumb in a non-contact drill in practice on Thursday. He has already undergone surgery and he will be out the remainder of the season. He will be more than likely a top five pick. So you've got Duke in North Carolina tonight. You've also got Florida and Kentucky speaking of runaway freight trains.

The Florida Gators right now look very much in the discussion as one of the best teams in all of college basketball. They're laying some pretty big chalk here on the road at Rapparina, Florida a six and a half point favorite and Todd Goldens squad has been rolling since losing to Auburn about a month ago. What has led to that turnaround here for the Gators? I think, you know, probably took me a little longer than expected to kind of figure out what the best way for us to play was, you know, and again, like we have a lot of talented guys that are trying to figure each other out, you know, that have kind of been alphas at other places and trying to find, you know, the shot died and who should be finishing possessions and what guy should be shooting threes, what guy shouldn't be shooting threes, it just takes a while, especially when you have some new pieces and returners playing new roles. Todd Goldens squad, Florida is on a 10 game winning streak. And if you go back to when that 10 game winning streak started, the only team that is better

than them, according to Bart Torvick, the Duke Blue Devils, who we just discussed, Florida has already beaten Kentucky once 92 to 83. Do you get that revenge factor tonight, boy, am I tempted to take those points with the Kentucky big blue nation at home, Rapparina, catching six and a half. The story of today, unfortunately, in college basketball has a lot to do with injuries. We already talked about Kayla Wilson. How about in Tennessee Vanderbilt, Tennessee's best player, Nate Aement, right now listed as doubtful. Let's hear from his head coach Rick Barnes on the status of his stud freshman. I don't know that if he's going to play. I know he's doing everything he possibly can through rehab, working with Chad and G and obviously through our doctors and he's, he's a model patient and that's what you want to call him, but other than that, I don't, we don't know. I've said it before, this up to him, he'd play every game, but we've obviously got to make sure that we're doing the right thing for Nate road revenge.

Some people like to talk about that. We'll hit on that. Got him a theme of the day, but Nate Aement right now listed as doubtful for this game. We might get a little bit more of a clarity as the show goes on dealing with a leg injury. We missed the South Carolina game earlier this week Vanderbilt at Tennessee today. Four point dogs are the Commodores on the road at Rocky Top Tennessee back on February 21st was able to beat Vanderbilt 69 to 65. Another massive injury news, Arkansas will be without their superstar freshman, Darius Acuff, more than likely going to be SEC player of the year, going to be a top 10 pick. Even a top five pick, personally, my favorite player in college basketball this year is Darius Acuff, and he will not play today. We've got John Rothstein's report from yesterday. It has been upgraded to out. He will not play in this game, Darius Cuff, Acuff, excuse me, is out and that's why

you've seen this market move from Missouri as a slight underdog to Missouri as a 22 and a half point favorite. So this was a spot where you started to hear it a little bit on Friday. I was able to grab some Missouri. You know, we talked about this game on Thursday night on Vs in prime time, the situational aspect of Arkansas and Missouri and the need for Missouri to win this game where they currently sit on the bubble. So you had the desperation factor for Missouri. Now you add in the injury to Darius Acuff. This is a must have spot for the Missouri Tigers and the market is telling us that as they are two and a half point favorite final note from an injury standpoint and a big game standpoint. Louisville is at Miami today and Louisville will once again be without their stud freshman. Michael Brown. He has been ruled out in this game as well, so Louisville at Miami right now, the hurricanes out to a two point favorite. As Pete Dammel pointed out yesterday, Michael Brown out again with that back injury.

He missed the game earlier this week against Syracuseus. Missed a total of eight games today will be his night. So a busy, busy day of college basketball coming up bottom of the hour. We will talk to former Florida assistant and UMass head coach Matt McCall now doing work with NBC. He'll jump on the program. We'll get our first installment of plays from the circuit college hoops challenge with Jonathan von Tobel Thomas Gable will give us the latest from behind the counter. How much did the Borgata move with the news of Max Crosby getting traded from the Raiders to the Baltimore Ravens last night? Paul Stone last year's champion and five and oh in week one in the circuit college hoops challenge. He will join us in the final hour of the program and Matt humans will join us as well. One more final note before we dive into a busy day and I mentioned it's a busy day. You know me. I'm a big college hoops guy, but we also here in town. We have UFC 326 and Dave Ross on the first strike podcast gave his thoughts on tonight's

main event here in Vegas to wrap up what will be a very fun day of sporting action. I see craziness and the longer the fight goes ironically, I actually think it's going to favor Charles Oliver. I do. I think he's going to the first five minutes hold on because that punching power from Max and his clean as those strikes are. I think he might really have Charles on his heels. I'm surprised it's sitting at two and a half. It is juice to the over. Do you see a world where this goes under two and a half rounds? It's hard to see that. I mean, you're talking about, yes, Oliver has been stopped in his career, but you know, it's been a while since the outside of Ilya, Tuporia. We talked about it before the show. You just got to take Ilya, that's a whole different guy. The hallways you fight, they might both of us. They don't want to talk about to take it out outside of that. It's rare when you see Oliver out early and same with Holloway outside of the deported fight. He's never been knocked out. Right. You know, I think hallways going to be careful with, you know, if he rocks Oliver early

and he drops him to the floor, if Oliver is still kind of in it, I doubt Max is going to want to jump on top because that's exactly the type of chaos Oliver wants because even half conscience, he's going to grab a limb, grab a neck and neck saying, you know, like you said, hallways in trouble. So I kind of like the over as being the one thing I kind of look at here, minus 175, it's a little pricey, but I mean, we want 25 minutes. As a fan, I want 25 minutes anyway. So that's a perfect bet to root for without having a side that my heart will hurt with either way. I think that's the way to go, too, because I just don't see if you like Max. I don't see Max getting in the amount of there early and I don't know that Dubrox is going to maybe keep grabbing that cake. You can always grab a neck. You never know. But inside of two and a half rounds, I don't know if that's possible either UFC 326 tonight wrapping up a low today here on March 7th. March 6 was pretty busy too about last night. We'll get into Miami.

You're tuned in to the recent weekend morning line. Coming up on the hour, former UT Chatnouga and UMass head coach now analyst for NBC Sports in the field of 68 Matt McCall, he will join us to give us his thoughts on a busy day of college basketball. And I'm sure he's got some thoughts on what we saw last night. And for those of you new to the program, we always set the scene. Get you ready for the day, but we take a quick step back and look back at what happened on a busy Friday night because we know that you guys are busy. We don't judge here on the program. We're here to tell you what unfolded last night because it's a busy time of year. Maybe got spring break going on, whatever you're doing in your life. Well, we call this about last night because every once in a while when you were in your college days, you might have got a text from a friend that said, hey, man, about last night. So about last night, we had the Miami Red Hawks who have been the talk of college basketball. It has been a very contentious discussion of should they be in?

Should they be left out? Well, you have to let them in if they're undefeated. Well, look at their strength of schedule. How about we just let them play basketball games and figure it itself out. And last night they went on the road to Athens, Ohio. They had not won at the Convocation Center in Athens since 2011. And Travis Steele brought his undefeated Miami Red Hawks into Ohio. And boy, was that quite the game? The Bobcats had a floater as time expired to win the game. It rolls off the rim and Miami in overtime is able to sneak past Ohio. The Bobcats do get the cover as five and a half point underdogs. One 10 to 108. And that ladies and gentlemen is an undefeated, regular season. The head coach of the Red Hawks is Travis Steele. This is for sure. And so we had what's your pitch to make the answer about time that we're going to the

splat as a Martian deal with 31 and 0. That's it. Thanks. Yeah. I mean, that is a pretty good mic drop worth 31 and 0. That's it. And I do think throw all the strength of schedule and all the metrics to the side. The Miami Red Hawks and my opinion locked up a birth to the NCAA tournament last night. If they had lost that game, I thought they were going to have to win the Mac tournament. Now we discussed it last week and I have to get into it again. They'll have to go win three games at three days. I think the Mac tournament bracket is ridiculous that you had Akron and Miami go and combine 35 and one and yet they have to win as many games in as many days as a team like you mass, who is seven and 11 in Mac play, but I digress. Miami at this point at 31 and 0 in the regular season. We'll hear their name called on selection Sunday and obviously if they win the Mac tournament,

they'll absolutely hear their name called, but what a game it was. I'll just say this Miami. I know it's been an amazing season. I don't know how Rambunctious that crowd was. There were some technicals in that game. It's chill a little bit post game. How about that? They were throwing some birds to the crowd. They were dropping some pleasant trees to the crowd. Just feel it in a little bit there, Miami on that game. But by the way, for that Mac tournament, this may come as a surprise to you. The Miami Red Hawks are not the favorites to win this conference tournament. I was curious what the number would be because Miami's second round opponent Toledo in theory is easier than Akron's second round opponent in Toledo. But I knew if these two teams met on a neutral acronym, Miami, then Akron would be the favorite. But the odds right now to win the Mac conference tournament, Akron minus 105 Miami plus 109.

If you believe in the Red Hawks and they're going to keep it rolling, well, there they are plus 190 to win the Mac championship. So undefeated regular season for the Red Hawks 31 and 0 and they will play for the Mac championship or sorry in the Mac tournament starting on Thursday. The other big one last night in college troops, St. John's taking on seat and hall and the St. John's red storm locked up the number one seed in the Big E's tournament with a win over. Seton Hall and unfortunately at the end of that game, if you had the dog like I did a couple of miss free throws for the Seton Hall Pirates, a grab rebound, a foul that was unnecessary, 72 65, the final score, St. John's gets the win, gets the cover, gets the number one seed in the Big E's tournament and the red storm for a second straight year led by Rick Patino is now at least an owner of a share of the Big E's. It's regular season crown.

We have one back-to-back championships with two different teams and that's not easy to do. There's been one comment denominator and that's the young man to my left. The Big Bells Award tonight was not given to Zubi although his stats were great and when he needed to score he scored but he went to Rubin Gray because what Zubi was out resting, Rubin did a phenomenal job. Dylan Mitchell and this young man have to be exhausted. The amount of minutes they played was, I was getting tired watching them and he had to bring the ball up, he had to chase them. The point got, it wasn't easy for him but he got it and out. Real proud for St. John's, very proud for the players, it was a great win and the Big E's tournament is a lot of fun but the regular season means the most because that's your body of work for the entire year. This is, we want to win the big E's, start looking like three games. 18 and two for Rick Batino squad in the regular season 25 and six overall wasn't the greatest start to the season for St. John's and I know the Big E's is a bit down.

St. John's depending on how they perform at Madison Square Garden next week in the Big E's tournament. Maybe they get up to a five line right now. Kind of hanging out of that five or six line to be honest. We've talked about it a bunch. Sometimes it's more advantageous to be a six seed as opposed to a four or five because of the path to the final four but St. John's another strong finish to the season. At least a piece of the regular season crown, Yukon can also finish 18 and two with a win today over Marquette from the college ranks to the association. The return of Jason Tatum last night just a impressive performance to see Jason Tatum 298 days after tearing his Achilles. He goes out there was a bit rusty, but at 15 points 12 rebounds and seven assists as the Boston Celtics are able to win by a final score of 120 to 100 last night to get the cover against the tanking Dallas Mavericks.

This according to Optistats Jason Tatum is the first player in NBA history to miss his team's first 50 games or more and then have 15 plus points 10 plus rebounds and five plus assists in his season debut. The Boston Celtics, a team that I think is surprised most with their sustained success without Jason Tatum in the lineup this year and now with him back the Boston Celtics right now a draft king sit at plus 240 to win the NBA title. Yesterday you had an undefeated regular season come to a close with Miami you had Saint John's rapid up the biggest regular season. You had Jason Tatum's return you had the world baseball classic will get to that in here in just a moment bad beat but the biggest story of the day. Happened in my backyard here in Las Vegas Max Crosby a five time pro bowl elite edge rusher the anticipation was he was going to be on the move.

Who was it going to be would it be the Chicago Bears who traded DJ more earlier this week to open up some cap relief to acquire another draft pick would it be Jera and the Dallas Cowboys. It ends up being the Baltimore Ravens Jesse Minner in his first year as a head coach of the Baltimore Ravens has another stud to add to his defense as the Ravens trade a first round pick this year and a first round pick next year. The Las Vegas Raiders for Max Crosby as Adam chef to pointed out the trade can't be processed until next week but it is in place Crosby expected to be a Raven with two ones headed to Vegas. Warren Sharp who is contributed to V sent all throughout the football season pointed this out. Since 2000 and 19 among all defensive linemen Max Crosby is number one and tackles for loss number one in solo tackles number two and quarterback pressures and quarterback hits number three and total tackles number four and batter passes at number five in sacks and he is now a member of the Baltimore Ravens at bed MGM yesterday the Ravens were 12 to one.

To win the Super Bowl they moved to tend to one win the Super Bowl. Hey folks get ready to win a larger than life World Championship experience soccer experience only at Circa Resort and casino here in Vegas one lucky winner will get tonight stay at Circa VIP cabana for those games at stadium swim you can enter now and kick off the World Soccer Championship at Circa go to Circa Las Vegas dot com. If you want picks they're coming your way the Circa College Shoops Challenge week two will have five selections from 15 different handicapers well 14 and then you know this here but we'll get some picks from Jonathan Von Toe will coming up in 15 minutes Paul Stone who went undefeated last week last year's champion he will join us in the final hour of the program but how about just some good old fashion analysis because you get plenty of that from our next guest Matt McCall long time coach now maybe the busiest man in media because he's going to be on USA all day today that he's going to switch over to peacock later tonight you see him everywhere you catch him on the field of 68 and he joins us right now and coach

before we dive into today I am just curious your thoughts as someone who coached at a mid major at UT Chattanooga and then UMass to see what Miami just accomplished with Travis Steel squad did take us through the pressure they were feeling this past month because every which way you turn whether it was field of 68 or ESPN or hell even here on Veson people were talking about Miami and I know it wasn't pretty they didn't cover but they were able to accomplish a 31 and 0 regular season last night what do you make of this Miami team? Well Tim I think it's you know the you mentioned it the pressure that they were feeling every single night I tell people this all the time I was the UMass coach for five years and now you got to take it with the greatest all because we had COVID in there so they weren't allowed to have fans but I turned on again this year that Miami of Ohio was playing at UMass and the place was packed and you can't tell me it was packed because of the year that UMass is having it was packed because of the

what Miami of Ohio is doing and I'm not trying to throw shade at Frank Martin or but it was packed because of what Miami of Ohio is doing so you couple that with getting every single team's best shot the more you win the more you know teams awareness goes through the roof getting everyone's best shot they're going to be in close games they are that's what's going to happen guess what conference tournament next week same thing don't be shocked at that game against UMass is close much like last night was because they're getting every team's best shot what a remarkable job I said this the other day on how it sports radio channel 84 you know like if you really think about it if Travis steel would have known that he was going to be 31 and oh going into the conference tournament everyone wants to say all in schedule anybody they didn't schedule anybody well his athletic director didn't make him play by games so if my athletic director saying hey you don't have to play by games I'm not playing by games but if you would have told him that you probably need to play a couple because you're going to be undefeated he would have done it I guarantee you he would have done it he had no idea his team in an idea his team was going to be good and no idea his team is going to be this good what a remarkable job I

continue to say this to I think once they get to the NCAA tournament and I don't care if they lose in their conference tournament because guess what guys Akron is good Akron is really good so it wouldn't be a shock to me to see them go down in that game but once they get to the infield tournament I think the pressure is off for them and watch out for whoever they play in the first yeah you look at the style but I think they win that first round game yeah you look at the style coach that they play and I mean that is the the makeup of a team that can pull off an upset Matt McCall joining us here former head coach at UMass and UT chat Nuga long time assistant at Florida and now an analyst for NBC as well the field of 68 and he is very busy USA Network NBC Sports Network peacock today I want to jump to your alma mater Florida they're on the road at Roperina they've 110 in a row Todd Golden has his team on a just a runaway freight train it feels like after winning the national title a year ago how tricky is this spot today going on the road as a six and a half point

favorite against Kentucky 10 stay away stay far away don't touch this one if you're gambling man stay far away it's a tricky spot I don't know if you remember back in 2014 we were 17 to know in the SEC going into the final game of the season against Kentucky now it was our senior night and we had some great seniors and Scotty Wilbick and Patrick Young will you get in Casey Prater so they wanted to finish off that historic season and go undefeated in the SEC 18 to know and we were playing at home so that's a little different thing going on the road playing against a Kentucky team that has been a headscratcher to say the least but it's Roperina it'll be packed it is their senior day at the end of the day Florida's locked up the regular season they've locked up the one seat in the SEC tournament they're trying to get the one seat in the NCAA tournament unfortunately they're going to need some help they're going to need you know somebody to trip up to slip up for them to be able to make this happen but

it's a dangerous game for Florida you know that the six and a half seems like a lot of points for what a job coach Todd Goldin has done with this group you know coach I'm curious to get your perspective on this because you mentioned senior day and I know it's it's a new meaning nowadays with all the transfers and players leaving early it doesn't have the same maybe hitting home as as it did in the past now you look at Kelvin Samson and the manual sharp earlier this week how emotional that game was and I bring that up because we have Purdue playing at home today and this is a team that likes to recruit to the high school ranks and you've got a Braden Smith who's been there as whole career you've got a trade coffin Ren who's been there his whole career heck I know Fletcher lawyer ultimately transferred in from actually he's been there as whole career to excuse me so I was thinking he was a transfer so you have all of these guys but it just feels like something's been just a hair off with this Purdue team what do you expect from them today they're a pretty sizable favorite about eight and a half points against Wisconsin what do you expect today at macchi arena

I expect an emotional day for their coach and for those seniors you know go back four years ago when those two young men were freshmen and they lose in the first round of the NCAA tournament the fairly Dickinson you know Zachini was still a part of that program but it was a 16 losing or beating a one and those two guys took a lot of the blame and I remember interviewing Zachini for serious XM and him saying man I wasn't even ready to play as a freshman those are my guys one of the stored career they both had it's ironic that you now hear the narrative around this team this Fletcher lawyer again is taking a lot of the heat a lot of the blame because when they win he plays well when they lose he does it and that's unfortunate because both of those guys have started every single game of their career they have never not started so they need to be honored they need to be celebrated it'll be an emotional day in there but that was constant team Tim I couldn't I would not be shocked if they're in the sweet 16 if Nick Boyd and John Blackwell are clicking and clicking on all cylinders

that's one of the best back courts in the country with those two guys that seems like a lot of points but in an emotional day for that producing how you know as a coach how do senior days play out because sometimes you hear oh senior day got a bet on him but then there's like the other side where it's like there's so much emotions you're crying your whole families there as a coach how do you tiptoe around that like what is Matt painter going to do today as you pointed out it's a great point Fletcher lawyer and Braden Smith have started every single game of their collegiate career and it wraps up tonight at Mac Urina Yeah the coach you're you're just as emotional I mean heck I coach the senior day after I had already been let go you want to talk about emotional oh my gosh that was the most emotional day I've had in my entire coaching career it's hard but you have to get into the into the huddle before the ball tipped up and say to your guys look the ceremony's over we celebrated these guys the best way we can celebrate it is go out here and play it's fired

go out here and get a win but it's tough it's really really tough when you know this is their last game in that building I mean Michigan State the other night against Rutgers trouble in the first half you want to talk about a guy that put his heart and soul into a program how about Jackson Kohler barely played as a freshman and now look what he's doing for that Michigan State program but Rutgers has a tight game and then at the end of the game coaches are empties his bench and Rutgers goes on a run for coaches worst nightmare it's it's tough but you got to tell your guys the way to honor these seniors is to go out and play inspired and let's find a way to get a win final thought coach Matt McCall joining us here you'll catch him on USA network you'll catch him on peacock later today he's all over the place we got about a minute Duke UNC awful news about Caleb Wilson he's out for the remainder of the season he's out for the remainder let's be honest of his collegiate career what do we expect from Duke today they're laying 17 coach against UNC here at Cameron Indoor Caleb Wilson why are you dunking in practice son what are we doing just lay the ball up my man

that's a lot of points on senior day let's let's call like it is this is Campbell's or senior day two they're not going to honor him as a senior this is his senior day two this Duke team is terrific what a blow to UNC 17.5 seems like a lot of points on a senior day because again what's going to happen at the end of the game if Duke's up 20 you're going to empty their bench you're going to empty their bench the walk-ons are going to play the crowd is going to go nuts you know Carolina could get a couple baskets and make it a 16-14 point game so it just seems like a lot but this is Campbell's or senior day two so the Duke fans I'm sure will be ready to honor him because he will not be playing another game in Cameron Indoor Stadium that is that is a guarantee right there hey coach appreciate it as always I know you got a busy day much appreciated enjoy the games today you got to thank me anytime there is Matt McCall you'll catch him on USA and peacock as the day goes on speaking to college hoops we got our hoops bandia special going on right now you can get everything we have to offer at vcn.com all the way through May 1st or just 2999 all our bets

JVT real quickly because I got to sneak this in before we get to your college plays you got five plays today Jason Tatum returns 15 12 and seven last night he talked about it he was a bit rusty certainly I think he missed his first eight or nine shots but when you look at the eastern conference and I know you had a great point earlier this week about the value of the hornets to maybe win the eastern conference seeing Tatum back last night does that change your opinion at all on the Celtics possibilities to win the east I mean I don't think so and it's not like I didn't think they could they can still very clearly win the eastern conference but remember last night two uh Nikol Vusavish breaks his ring finger so that's going to be something that they have to deal with they wouldn't trade it for him and now the center position in terms of its depth is going to be a very big question mark and it should not be forgotten that this team is very different from the one that won the NBA Finals a couple of years ago right Drew holiday's not there Christus Brzingis is not there they did strip this thing down to the studs for the most part it has been a surprising and good year but I think the question is can a team that is not as deep as the one that made it

to multiple eastern conference finals finally broke through for one year and beat the Dallas Mavericks with a Jason Tatum coming off of an Achilles injury is that good enough to get there and then win the NBA Finals I would question that I think they're a very good team but I wouldn't be surprised if the Cleveland Cavaliers who for my money are still the best team in the eastern conference dispatched them in an eastern conference final series and it's still Cleveland but yeah run to these recovery finals potentially winning it I think that's certainly within the cards if Tatum is going to be second half Jason Tatum not the first half uh that first half guy who got packed by the rim when he tried to go first first don't look like me when I was in college yeah rejected by the rim all right let's get to the plays today the circuit college hoops challenge week two and three for you JVT but you are great last year you're in the thick of it until the very end so let's dive into an SEC game first let's go Vanderbilt at Tennessee this is on the short list of plays for me Vanderbilt in the contest catching for at Tennessee I hate Tennessee's offense and I think that's kind of where it starts right I mean you look at them in SEC play we're talking

about 10th in offense of efficiency extremely slow pace they don't I mean they play kind of that version I think you and I talked about this about Texas A&M last year where it's like a dumping chase offense where Rick Barnes is just like please check up shots we'll get offensive rebounds we'll get second chance opportunities and that's the way we'll handle our offense I don't think that'll work against Vanderbilt I think Vandy's good enough on defense they do have some issues when it comes to their rebounding we've seen that SEC play but I think they're good enough to keep them off the glass they're a better higher ceiling when it comes to their offense as well than what Tennessee has I just think they're good enough here Tim to stay inside of this number and with the high volume of three-point shots that they will take I do think that Vandy's going to be able to be pretty competitive here even maybe spring the upset as we know Tennessee went out there and beat them about what a month ago or so and I think that they're going maybe a little bit less than actually I think it was back in February 22nd or so I think they're going to be able to come in here and the very least cover this I think the market slowly heading toward Vandy and I would agree with that thought so we'll go with the the commentors here plus the four and Nate Amen not expected to play for Tennessee obviously a big loss they are the old road revenge possibility in this one let's

stick in the SEC we just had Matt McCall on the program long time Florida assistant Florida alum and he said I'm staying away from this game something about going to Ruperina a little spooky but you're going to lay the chalk here with arguably the hottest team in college basketball Florida on the road at Kentucky. Yeah I mean let's go through all the points that we talked about with this Florida team I mean they're the best offensive and defensive team in the SEC that front court is absolutely incredible and as the talking point has been for the last month or so now Tim the three point shooting is starting to get figured out over the last five games are shooting over 40% from three that back courts really finding its groove here and with all the motivation in the world you know I think there is still the possibility as many of us do that this team can sneak in and grab that final one seed Florida I think should be Uber motivated to go out there and take on a Kentucky group that has been very middleing on offense they're going to be able to I think to really match up well with this Wildcats team so I'm buying in a binding on the improvements I think it's a short number for me at least by my measure to ask Florida to go in there and grab a win over the Wildcats

so we'll go with the gators to get this done as you mentioned as a road favorite JVT Jonathan Vontoba follow on Twitter at me JVT two plays in the circuit college hoops challenge taking the points with Vanderbilt at Tennessee lay in the chalk with Florida minus six and a half let's go to the mountain west because if you could figure out the mountain west Godspeed because this is a conference that is impossible to figure out we saw San Diego State sneak one out last night against UNLV but UNLV does get the cover we've got a really good one today in Fort Collins and two teams that are really hot Colorado state and Boise state what do you see with this one the Rams a very short home favorite here they are and I know I think Matt humans and others would talk about the short home the short favorite here and say hey man watch out for a spot like that but oh look I'll take the low hanging fruit if you look at the winning stretch for both of these teams at this point right now one is not like the other you look at Colorado state and what they've done on this eight game winning streak you're beating teams like San Diego State and of course coming off of a win against New Mexico meanwhile Boise

state on a shorter winning streak San Jose State Wyoming Fresno State yes they beat San Diego State as well when they got them at home but Colorado State Tim has slowly evolved into one of the better offenses in the mountain last they they've been absolutely incredible they're the best three point shooting team or one of the best three point shooting teams in the mountain last over this winning streak with the best three point shooting team in the conference they are a fantastic team they're also a team that is very it confused I guess you could say in terms of the way that they play nearly 50% of their attempts come from beyond the arc but they're last in terms of tempo in the mountain last they'll play slow they'll find their open looks I buy in to what uh um uh um uh for Oakman Esch is selling here uh with this Rams team I think that they're really improving at the right time and remember too uh for Oakman Esch was part of Niko Medved staff he was part of player development I don't think it's the craziest thing in the world that this team is getting better with the guy that was helping develop the players in our medbed over the last couple of seasons I would look out for not only Colorado State here but of course in the mountainous tournament should they be able to pull this off going into it with the nine game winning streak they're gonna be very dangerous yeah if you go back into uh about a month ago so February 7th you go to Bart Torvic.com and you sort it from

there Boise State is the best team based off of their metrics 44th overall in the country Colorado State behind them and then it's Utah State so Utah State the only team that has looked to to believe to have a spot locked up in the NCAA tournament hasn't been the best team in this conference over the last month it's actually been the two teams they're gonna play today in Fort Collins before we get to your best bet which is also in the mountain west JVT let's go to the big west seating on the line I can't wait to get over to uh Lee's family forum and Henderson yeah later this week it should be a phenomenal conference tournament in the big west and you've got two teams with identical conference records you've got UC San Diego last year's champion by the way of that conference taking on UC Santa Barbara and you're going to get a little bit of line value here because in the contest it's two and a half and now the market down to one and a half with UC San Diego at UC Santa Barbara. Yep and that was the uh that was all I needed no I think that when you look at UC San Diego one of the things that is stuck out is they got off to the kind of that

like the disjointed start and conference play after they lose to Hawaii on the road they start six and seven since then Tim um it hasn't exactly been a murderer's row but took care of UC Davis took care of UC Irvine had one five straight before they go out they lose to Cal State Fullerton and this is a second consecutive road game but to me what sticks out is UC San Diego is really quietly inside done a lot of damage against some of these opponents they've been playing in the conference and as of late they've been killing opponents with their two point offense and I think that's going to be something that really does stick out here against UC Santa Barbara they come in and relatively poor form they've lost three out of four mixed in there are two overtime games as well but one of the things about their defensive profile pretty middle of the pack and in fact below average in terms of their interior defense I think there's something UC San Diego would come in and get this go to you I think a low scoring somewhat ugly game potentially but I think that the tritons can come in here and improve form and I think really dominate inside in the paint and get this thing done so UC San Diego like you mentioned plus two and a half in the contest it's one and a half here so it seems at the market would agree with me but let's go tritons Jonathan Vontobl at me JVT we save his

best for last and guess what JVT we will be going ahead to head on this one it won't be my best bet but I will have New Mexico plus seven and a half as one of my plays so tell me why I'm wrong why is Utah State going to cover against the Lobos yeah Utah State as you mentioned recent form if you just look at it has been great they've lost three out of four but Tim the common alley to between all three of those losses is all three of them are on the road Utah State is a different team when they play at home they're 12 and one so far this year the best offense rating at home by far this has just been a different animal when they get to go back out and play in Logan the three point offense has been incredible but really they're shooting 60% for the season and conference play and well over 60% at home inside the arc I think this is just one where you've been on the road you've been a little weary you come back and by the way I think you know these just terrible match up for Utah State they've got those long big athletic wings and go after them I don't think you're gonna face that big of a challenge here against New Mexico Lobos also give up a lot of three point attempts hopefully to the right guys as part of the game plan but I think

Utah State can get it done here so bounce back at home minus seven and a half two and three and week one a bounce back for JVT this week his best bet Utah State minus seven and a half you you see San Diego plus two and a half bandy plus four Florida laying six and a half Colorado State minus one and a half JVT much appreciated as always man best of luck and we'll hear you this week on money moves yep thanks man appreciate it there is JVT by the way me and JVT next Sunday right here on V-Syn for the bracket reveal let's get into the top games on a busy Saturday we'll do that next right here on the V-Syn weekend morning long life's busy don't let banking slow you down whether you're paying bills setting savings goals or just splitting the check Atlantic Union Bank makes managing your money easier with helpful people and user friendly tools we make sure banking with us fits you call
