Hey folks, it's Tim Murray and here we are. College football season long Saturdays ahead. And staying locked in for an entire day of football takes a little bit more than coffee. Lorien's new pouch is built exactly for that without the nicotine. It works just like the pouches you've seen before, tuck one in and go about your day. Each has 50 milligrams of caffeine about half a cup of coffee. Plus, L, Theanine, and AlphaGPC for smooth, steady focus with no crash. And because it's Lorien, it's also got nano-hydroxyapotype. The mineral your teeth are made of. So it gives your daily enamel support in between brushing. It's smooth energy without the jitters. And it comes in mint, cinnamon, and mango. All nicotine-free. I love the cinnamon. Give Lorien a try. Right now, Lorien is offering our listeners up to 50% off

This is Fiesin, prime time live from the circus sports book in downtown Las Vegas on Fiesin, the sports betting network. Welcome back. As of September 1st, that being yesterday, Sirius XM Channel 189 is where in your 24, 7, 3, 65, taking in our Vsin, prime time game of the night, Brewers and the Cubs. Milwaukee's up to nothing in the bottom of the first.
Jacob Mizorowski. He walked Pete Krohr Armstrong, but was able to retire. Say, as a Zuki. So we'll see if Alex Breggman can do anything here for the Cubbies to hopefully help out my bet of Cubs, first five. Will your bets, the Royals, Marlins? We can already read this. I'm telling you what I'm telling you. What about my bets? We can just turn that one up. Anything else that you are. I think if we get a rangel A, we might get a voice of some of these books. Yeah. Can they? Yeah. That bull germ scene where Kevin Costner says, you need a rangel A, get a rangel A, and then they flood the field. That's kind of what we need in Kansas City. Let me ask you though seriously, because you deal with this. And I deal with this a lot too. And I bet baseball year round. I bet spring training. I really do. Oh my goodness. I bet all throughout the season, home run derby, all start game, you name it. Once football starts, do you scale back on baseball? Do you just not bet it? I still bet it, but I find myself more, especially Saturdays and Sundays where it's just
hard to have that much action on everything. But let me ask you, how do you balance baseball and football once both seasons are full go? It's going to be the case here and starting tomorrow. I'll say weekends, I don't bet it at all, because Saturday's Sunday, I'm locked in on the football stuff. I don't want to feel like my brain is in a million places at once. From a day to day standpoint, unless there's a spot that really jumps out, like in all did he go yard? Alex, Braggman went yard. Let's go. Wow. Play that song. White me down. Let's go, Cubbies. Let's do it. I don't know that song. What is that song? Oh, Lil Boosie, White me down. Oh, man, that's a giant. Not sure. During the break, you got to listen to that. Well, I'm not going to sing it over these FCC airwaves, because I feel like if I do start singing it. I'll slip up and say something that I shouldn't say on the air. But for those who don't know, White me down is the Cubs new home run song. So if you're listening or watching on Marquis, that is a song you consistently hear after a Cubs home run. And that's why they wipe the front of their shirts whenever they round.
I think third is what they like. They like the front of their shirts when they do it in front of the dugout. So they have since adopted that. Have you ever been to Riggly? Yeah, I've been one time, a couple of years ago. My wife and I, we went for, remember when Justin Steele used to pitch? It was Justin Steele. He put a complete game. I believe they were playing the angel. Went there just to see Justin Steele? No. I went there for Riggly. He just happened to be starting. Okay. So we, we have a nice, it's funny. These pictures fed me. They get hurt and they basically just, they, they disappear for like two years. You forget they had to hurt at the wrong time. They don't exist. But Steele, I saw it came across my Twitter feed, one of the minor league sites I follow or something that Steele started to rehab assignment. So I would imagine, I don't know if you just throw him into a penitrate, say probably ease it back. But if he's pitching in rehab starts, he might be an option here, come to playoffs. But it is, it is funny how these guys, they get hurt and it's like, forget about it. If it's the wrong time, you miss this year, you miss the next year and you just, you know, see it basically like in 2030. Yeah. It's like, like Spencer Strider, like, remember that name?
Yeah. You just, if you were to walk around and say, Hey, why do I recognize like, oh, yeah, because it used to be the Braves ace. Remember who was about to win Saiyong like four years ago? That didn't happen. But yeah, these picture injuries are absolutely brutal. So maybe Justin Steele, maybe you can come out of the bullpen. I don't know, I don't know if they got a plan for him for what's the month of October. But most importantly, the Cubbies have tied the game up. So it's two two in the bottom of the first. The, what was the total on this one that it closed? I'll tell you what the total is now, though. Eight and a half, I think. Oh, yeah, eight and a half, that's right. We did say eight and a half. So it's 11 and a half currently juiced over. And so it's 117. Milwaukee, those still the favorite minus 147 Cubs plus 113 as Milwaukee still has Jacob and his Rousey on the mound. And it looks like he's about to get out of the inning as Nico Horner grounds out to second. But Alex, Bregman ties the game up. PCA gets the walk. Bregman deposits it out to a left center, and it is now two two after one. But to get back to your question about balancing baseball and football.
Because I think it's an important one for a lot of betters to kind of like grasp with as we approach football season. You kind of have to leave some stuff on the cutting room floor, man. Like you can't do everything. And honestly, unless there's a spot that really stands out to me during the week, like, let's say like a Justin Steel order make a return. Obviously, if he's a starter game, I would likely fade the Cubs in that instance. Like, you know, like those big news items that come across that may maybe make you want to make a bet whether bet on something or to fade something. That's probably how I will bet the rest of this baseball season. Or it would be a futures bet like to make the playoffs to win a division or to miss the playoffs. Something like that will be something more long term that I could track as opposed to having to grind the day to day stuff. Because yeah, I'll be honest, like when football seasons back, it's going to take up like 80% of my brain capacity in the betting department at least. And the other 20% is going to be getting ready for like NBA and NHL season. Like, obviously like like football is just like like when I say football, I mean, like NFL
and college is 80% but like the rest of it's like NBA, NHL, baseball playoffs. I'll bet baseball playoffs on the day today because like those games are meaningful. They're high stakes stuff and I'll be watching them. So I want to have an action too. But regular season, yeah, kind of gets put by the wayside. Which I mean, I don't know what the right answer is because if you're good at baseball, you know, you're money's money, whether you're betting a preseason game, a CFP, NFL game, the Super Bowl, a twins royals game in September. I mean, if you have value, if you have an edge, you know what, it doesn't really matter. But I think people, and it's just the psychology of a better family and I forget full victim this too. You want to bet what you want to watch and you want to invite first, you know what, I'm going to be watching football day. I want to bet the football where, I mean, it's a Sunday NFL first and a foul Sunday. I'm not going to watch baseball. So I don't want to bet it. So it's almost at a site out of mind. That's probably not the best process. Speaking of baseball, our producer Corey York just sent us this text message. This is from Fabian Ardaya, who covers the Dodgers for the athletic.
And he tweeted about a half hour ago that Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said the possibility of shutting down show Hey O'Tani as a picture for the season is on the table. But the Dodgers aren't to the point yet where they have to or will make that decision. So they're starting to talk about it now, Will, about shutting down O'Tani. He feels like we had this conversation about an O'Tani IEL stint. Like what was like a few weeks ago for show, Hey O'Tani or so in terms of like, Hey, like, like, if he's not really pitching well, like, maybe just make sure that he is all good to go in 100% by the time we get to the post season. But it sounds like we might just be seeing O'Tani at the plate come October. Now, nothing's been fully decided. But the fact that they're talking about it now, that leads me to believe that this might be a real possibility that O'Tani is not going to return to the mound because since he hasn't pitched since July 3rd of this year. I don't think he's pitching again. I mean, I wouldn't see I would put it 80, 20, 90, 10. He's not pitching again because they're very careful with him. He is and they don't I'm not going to say they don't need him because we have a guy who's
eight and two with a sub two ERA. It's pretty good. It's just arrogance. Oh, we don't need you. But they can replace him. I mean, we could say that they've got Yamamoto and SNL and glass now and scuba and just an embarrassment of riches at that position. And when he comes to the playoffs, I mean, yeah, you'd like to have the arm, but you need him at the plate because they're not scoring runs. So I would imagine, you know what, PCA's got a healthy lead in the MVP. Yeah. If he's not pitching now, and here's the other thing too, Femi, with this time of the year with pitchers, there's not that much time to ramp up where if you get a little setback now, it's, you know, you're not going to, you're not going to rehab on the fly. Not to work. Come like the best to a three wild card division round. If he's not pitching now, and he's not close to pitching, what doesn't, doesn't seem like he is. I would imagine, Otani probably more likely than not. He's done for the years in terms of pitcher. Does it change how you feel about the Dodgers in October? If you were not to pitch this the way. No. Plus one thing got four guys that are pretty much as good.
I mean, those guys are all, I mean, I don't want to say it's because it was a good problem to have, but what about a problem? If you had a healthy school bulls now glass now, Yamamoto, Otani, yeah, you'd rather have them than not, but it's like some, they can't all pitch. I mean, there's, there's only one ball. You can hurt someone for your four starters in a playoff series. Yeah. Somebody was going to be out of the odd man out anyway. Yeah. I mean, I guess it makes that problem. I mean, obviously, much more easier. It takes away that problem. But yeah, I'm curious to see how, because like, I just think back to how I felt personally, and I know how a lot of people felt that Saturday night when the Dodgers traded for Terrick's school bull, where it's like, oh my god, the world is ending. Like, they just crowned them again. And slowly, but surely ever since that trade, the Dodgers haven't played as well. We've seen other teams get like the Brewers consistently are playing awesome baseball. The Phillies have gotten hot. The Braves have played really well. The Braves swept the Dodgers. The Cubs have played well. They keep hitting home runs out there at Rigglyfield. It feels like we're slowly, like the further and further removed we get from that Saturday
night, where the Dodgers made the blockbuster trade for Terrick's school bull. Do you think, let's say, three weeks from now, as we're all in sconston football content and grinding in the NFL, but do you think we're going to start to hear people? And the consensus opinion be that the Dodgers are now vulnerable and the Dodgers will not represent the National League in the World Series. Because I almost, I could see that actually happening based on the Dodgers kind of stumbling down the stretch. And of course, Otani looking like he might not be on the mound for the rest of the season. It's going to be split. It's like the chiefs some of these years. And ironically, I think the year they won the title, they lost like the Raiders on Christmas and they could score. They couldn't move the ball. It's like, you know, like, you know, it's no conno. Yeah, 100%. It's the same thing. Where on one hand, your eyes tell you they're flawed. They're not as good. They look old. They're certainly flaws there. You know, no closer. On the other hand, it's the Dodgers don't overthink it. I think it'll be a pretty healthy split both sides of the aisle.
And both, you know, whatever, whatever you pick, if you pick the Dodgers and they lose, you're going to feel like an idiot. And the other way around too, you're going to feel like an idiot. Like, why did I doubt this team? There's so much talent there. So I think it'll be pretty divided 50, 50 believers, nonbelievers. I don't know where I come down either to be honest. Yeah, I mean, I feel like I'm kind of straddling the fence a little bit, which is not what you want and betting. Like you and I have a stance, but the Dodgers are even money to win the national league. They're plus 180 at draftings to win the World Series. The team that's right behind them, the Milwaukee Brewers, they just took a three to lead after Jackson Churrio just went yard of a David Peterson. I've become to get David Peterson out of there selfishly for my bet. We'll be back on the other side. This is Veecent Prybtime on Veecent, the Sports betting network. But welcome back. This is Veecent Prybtime. Femme Benfei Wilhill hanging out with you guys here on this Wednesday night. We are headed to the bottom of the second. Brewers lead the Cubs three to two after Jackson Churrio, Homer there in the top of the second. For about, I'd say 10, 15 minutes of real time. I was feeling pretty good. You know, after the Alex Breggman to run blast, but Jackson Churrio has since brought me back down to earth. So we're now once again facing an uphill battle on the Cubs first five money line bet plus one 55 was the play. Still a lot of baseball to be played, but yeah, you know, things were better about 20 minutes
ago. I'll just put it that way. Some other scores from around major league baseball. The Mets have a six four lead right now on the raise. They were up six nothing earlier. Tampa keeps clawing back as we consistently overlook the raise as contenders. But hey, man, they keep trying to tell us where that team. We'll see if they can complete this comeback against the New York Mets at home. We're in the top of the six in that contest. Raise. Oh, go ahead. I was going to say the raise braves is the ultimate like. We're in the world series. You guys like nobody picked us like nobody picked nobody talks about the braves. They're in first place have been all year. The two the two East leaders in first place like nobody talked about the braves. Nobody likes to pitching after sale. And nobody really talks about the race. It's either the Yankees of you know, if they're the healthy Yankees that version of them, then it's like the sleepers are like, are you know, in Baltimore get in or Cleveland or some of these other teams. We're all looking for sleepers, but I don't know, maybe maybe these teams, it's the old Gus Frank hiding in plain sight of what we're looking at a raise braves world series.
Were you a breaking bad guy? Because I know you haven't watched the last really. I don't want to say upset me or offense me, but, but those are probably good words for it. And you only watched the Supreme enough is because Michael and Barty made you. Yes. I was not a breaking bad guy. I've never seen breaking best. But see like what do you do? I don't know. I watch onterage all the time. I don't know. That's a good answer. I put on shows because sometimes I'm just like, I don't want to sit down and like lock in. So like, let me just put on something that I've already seen before and I can do some stuff. And like, I have it going in the background, you know, so it's like, that's why I consistently go back to onterage or other shows that I've seen. So it's hard for me to just like sit down and lock in, especially like now that you get older, you're busy with stuff. It's just difficult. I'm sorry, but I'm not one of those people that like wears it as like a badge of honor, you know, like I'm not wearing a, I'm not wearing you like a scarlet letter. Like I'm not like ashamed, but I'm also not making it my personality that I've never seen breaking bad or Game of Thrones or any of these shows. Like I just, I just don't talk about. I've never seen Game of Thrones.
Even during like COVID, what did you do during COVID? What did you watch? What's the movie? So COVID, yeah, COVID is when I was watching movies like that's like COVID is the first time that I saw the Godfather. Like that's what I was like watching like classic movies during COVID. And also like I think I'm more of a movie guy than a show guy just because I'm like, tell me the story in two hours. I don't want to like have the story play out over eight hours, you know, like, and there's like shows have some advantages like you can get into like different storylines and like draw it all out and you get like a better payoff in a show because it's like you're invested in like, oh my God, I didn't see that comment or whatever. Did they, oh, that just short match. I was like, he's going to triple there. I thought it was going to go yard. But like, you know, like shows give you the better payoff, but like, I'm just more of like an efficiency guy. Like just giving the movie. Tell me the story in two hours and we can go on with our lives two and a half if you're lucky, three if you're the Odyssey. But like, yeah, I guess that's just kind of how I roll. So yeah, but even then I haven't seen like every single classic movie, but like I try to see as many as possible and the DVR is loaded up for a whenever football season ends
or I mean, at this point now it's like whenever the NBA finals of the NHL. Stanley Cup finals ends, but this past year we had the World Cup. So I didn't have a whole lot of time to watch movies this off season because there was no off season World Cup ended like five days ago. And now here we are for football or back. So yeah, next summer NBA all start break. NBA all start break. Maybe the summer unfortunately, but NBA also break. We have college basketball like I can watch college basketball. I think there's always there's always something going on. Some like, everyone's like, how have you not seen this? Bro, I'm watching sports. I think what do you mean? Yeah. And like in my brain is just like, well, if this like this movie is already happened, it's not going to change whether I watch it today or in 20 years. So I can put that off, but this sporting event is live. And I need to lock in on this. So like that's where my brain kind of goes to where then all of a sudden now I've gone 20 years without watching a show that's been so popular. I'm just like, sorry guys, I'm just not there. Like I'm watching like summertime. You got the WMBA. You got baseball.
I mean, sometimes you got the World Cup. You got the Euro Cup. And then obviously you get the August, Premier League is back. You got preseason football. You know what division race is heating up. I mean, and then September through February is taken up for the NFL. If it comes down to finally getting around to watching Breaking Bad or the Wire versus the WMBA, you can, you can get the WMBA for a minute. The W can take a seat on the bench. There might be some betting opportunities. I don't know if I'm ready to devolge for the WMBA title futures market, but I was doing some, now that we've reached the break, because they're now playing the Feebacup or whatever they're doing, like the regular season resumes in like 15 days or something like that. I don't know, weird times. They go against football, that's smart. That makes a lot of sense. Nobody watches football. Nobody ever. Nobody does that. As the, the Cubs have tied it up. How about this? Cubs got three runs off Mizorowski and one and a third innings. that on their bingo card, huh? Here we go. Brand new bombs can hit. They can. That's what makes them country hit. They can swing the back.
And that's going to be a death match them in the Phillies. And that's probably what it's going to be. It's almost definitely what it's going to be. Cubs Phillies best two out of three weekday. Riggly Field Series boy. That'd be good. Yeah. That's a I'll be locked in still cage match. Luke usually's down. That's not going to be fun for the Cubs in the Phillies are very live. But whoever gets out of that is very, very dangerous. How am I supposed to watch a movie when there's Cubs Phillies on? You know what I mean? Like, where's the time? They do people not sleep? Like that watch sports. Plus links first tempo probably links first. I'm telling you. I take a I'm getting ready. I'm just making sure that everybody can get through this Feebuck cup all with their limbs intact. Nobody's going to tear an ACL or popping Achilles. But bets will be made in the W. So I will be locked in I will be one of those people. Dual screen. Maybe the W's on the iPad during the Witching hour with the two TVs with the cod box. But I'm going to be locked in on the W NBA playoffs. Believe me, that there are opportunities to be had in that betting market, in my opinion.
Do you what do you think of the Portland Fire bench now that we're talking W NBA? Get the hell out of here. I don't think they made the playoffs. So I don't have to worry about them. Which by the way, the eight teams are set. We're just fighting for seating when we come back from the Feebuck cup. We're just like the eight teams. Not a who is what so the playoffs are set already. So so we know that how much team's already once we come back. There's like four regular season games. Like yeah, so there's not a whole lot, which is why it's a it's a very strange break. There's quite literally like four regular season games left. Like for like teams have four regular obviously like you combine that. But yeah, like teams only have like four games left to play. But a couple weeks you come back and there's a couple weeks. A couple weeks exactly. Then we'll play the playoffs. Who's the bet? A buddy told me a buddy who follows this in Betzis. And I could say we have him on the shoulder time. Brad Thomas. Because I guess Fando had the number up. Aces versus fever. Exact finals matchup was like 20 to one. He's like, Hey, this number is too long.
Aces should cruise. Which I don't know if this is true or not. Fever have a shot. Do you buy that? Is he right? I will not weigh in on this one. I'll tell you during the break. Because honestly, I don't I and that this is not doing anything for the sorry viewers. You're not going to get my W stuff just yet. But I'll tell you who the teams are that are in the playoffs. So the links, Valkary's Aces dream fever, Liberty, Mystics and Wings. Those are your eight playoff teams. It's very likely the links are going to be your one seat. Although there are only two games up in the lost column on Golden State. There's like a pretty big like jumbled mess between the four and the eight. With as that's the dream fever, Liberty, Mystics, Wings. I think there's only two games in the lost column that separate those teams. So maybe things could kind of get topsy turvy from a seating standpoint there. But as it stands now, like we're just going to be playing for seating because the fire, they're bench as you alluded to, did not help them get into the postseason. They were the last team out. They are currently in ninth place.
So the fire sky sparks Mercury who traded for Kelsey Plumb and gave up assets to do that for some reason. Did not make the postseason in the Toronto tempo, understanding Brandello. And their first year did not make the playoffs. Neither did the kinetic. It's not nor my beloved Seattle storm who were eight and 32 through 40 games so far. That is my thoughts on the WMBA. I'll give you my full thoughts though when we hit this break in about 60 seconds. The blue jays though will. They're up eight nothing. And I believe they're now about to be up nine nothing against the Cleveland Guardians. So Toronto. If there's a team, the American League man. If the blue jays get the six seed, why can't they go back to the world series? I say about every team that can get the six seed, the Orioles, any of these teams. So random once you get to the coil. I don't think you can. I actually would not say that about Baltimore. I wouldn't say that about Cleveland. I wouldn't say that about. I mean, who else is even fighting for the six. They all all these Gibroni teams that are out there fighting for it. Toronto though has the upside because they have C says a dude.
Like Minnesota. I wouldn't say that about the twins. But the blue jays. They get to play the AL West in the wild card. They get to play like they put the white socks in the DS. And I don't think they're scared of the AL East teams. Just saying, perhaps some fun exact points. Maybe some fun exact as tied with the blue jays for those who want to dabble. More recent prime time when we come back. This is recent prime time on FESA. This sports betting network. Perhaps Alex Bregman is Jacob Mizorowski's kryptonite. Welcome back. This is Vison Primetime. Femme Bebfe Will Hill here with you guys on this Wednesday night. A night that our Vison Primetime game. And I mean, we got a lot of twists and turns. And it is active from a live betting standpoint. Cubbies while we're in the break at the bases loaded.
Alex Bregman with a double up the middle there. That brings home a couple. Bregman already has a two run bomb off of Mizorowski in the first. And now here in the second, drives in two more runs. It is now five three Cubs up against the Milwaukee Brewers. And right now the live markets have Chicago minus 354. Milwaukee plus 251. The live total 15 and a half juiced under. And will this might be crazy. I would never bet it under, man. Given the Cubs bullpen struggles. And just based on Mizorowski who appeared. He does not have it tonight. I think that this bad boy has a chance to perhaps maybe both teams end up with double digit runs. Like this might get really crazy at Rigglyfield. Yeah, don't have a feel for it. And anytime you get a fast scoring fast starting game like this, you think, oh, well, go over because they're scoring like crazy. Or the contrary that the counter will be a logo under.
Because now it's inflated. Well, I mean, they account for basically, you know, a run run per inning, you know, no matter where the game is, depending on, you know, what's going on. But usually it adjusts to put it simply. So I don't have any feel I'm not going under. I'm not going over. Got my butt kicked in Miami Kansas City. First five and first three under. Looks like it settled in a little bit here. After seven run first, nobody's scored in the second. And then I think we got Miami here. Well, I think you'll give a chance to get that final wirecard spot nationally. They're batting down five to two in the top of the third. So we'll keep an eye on that game. And another team, a team we just can't quit, Femi Pittsburgh. A chance here. Everyone's losing around. I'm feeling lost in games today. You got a chance to maybe make up some ground and sneak into the mix. They're losing three ones of the giants. They had one three in a row of the pirates. So they still won three in a row. But you can't win every day. And that's the problem when you get into September. And you need to make up games, you need to chase games. You put yourself in a position where you feel like, hey, you can't lose to a row in B.
You almost, you know, you need to win like every day. But an opportunity for Pittsburgh to creep and climb back into the mix. They haven't been able to do it at least tonight down three to one. If you were one of these teams like a Toronto or a Pittsburgh or whatever, would you rather play a team that's like already dead and out? Like how Pittsburgh tonight's playing the giants? Like their seasons already over. Like where like, hey, they're a little bit loose. They're out here just trying to finish the season strong. You know, like let's see what happens. Guys that are maybe getting called up, getting their big league opportunities. Hey, Yolo, let's go out there and let it rip. Or would you rather play a team that's also in the mix where they're a little bit like, you know, it's if they feel the pressure like you feel the pressure. Like what would you prefer? Because on the surface, it's like, wow, look at this easy schedule. But you're also playing some Yolo teams that, hey man, like when you're free and lose playing baseball, the possibilities are endless. Yeah, it's a good point. I'd still probably prefer to play the weaker teams. But you know, as you said, all these teams are motivated because, all right,
it's a bad team in September. Well, they've got guys that are, you know, rookies, they come up for the minors. This is their one shot. And you know, all these guys at this level have abilities. So your point is certainly well taken. Yeah, I mean, like these guys, it's like, hey, like they're making their debut. I think they're just going to punt on their debut, you know? I mean, like I think I got the family and attendants and all that stuff. They're looking out there to go ahead and and and and and hit a lick, you know? Like they're not going to be out there just doing whatever and then mailing it in. So, yeah, I think there's, it can be dangerous either way. I guess at the point that we're making. And then I know I've fallen victim sometimes, looking at the schedule and being like, hey, this team has such an easy schedule. I bet them, but it might not be as easy as it thinks. And maybe it's not as difficult as it seems when you have all these juggernauts or playoff contending teams on your schedule either. So that's what's going on right now. And Major League Baseball, once again, the cups of a 5-3 lead. David Peterson is still out there because he's getting the run support. Can he do his job and hold him his end of the bargain? We shall see as we're now in the top of the third.
But well, we didn't get some news out of the national football league as do we're officially one week away. And I think we're exactly one week away from kickoff of week one. Patriot Seahawks. I believe that's an eight 20 Eastern. So this would probably be the first drive wrapping up. Or maybe in the middle of the first drive up there, the Pacific Northwest, as the banner will be unveiled a second banner for the Seattle Seahawks after their Super Bowl victory over those New England Patriots, where the Seahawks on length three and a half total is at 44. But in terms of the news that we got in the national football league today, the big news is here in Las Vegas, where Clint Cubiac finally made a decision. Finally, let us all know officially that Kurt Cousins will be the Raiders starting quarterback in week one. Fernando Mendoza will start the season on the bench, which snaps a six quarterback streak of quarterbacks drafted first overall to start an opening day. The last guy to not start that was a first overall pick on opening day was
Carson Palmer back in 2003, but six straight quarterbacks that had started that were number one overall picks. And Mendoza will be on the bench. It will be Kurt Cousins as the Raiders take on the Miami Dolphins next Sunday here in Las Vegas. Your thoughts on that and any betting applications for you where Kurt Cousins officially being named Cubi won. No, this was very much expected, but what was that stat again? Because I tend to remember Baker Mayfield not starting right away back in 2018. And I thought it was tired of what Taylor played the first two or three weeks. So I might have just straight up lied or messed up that stat to be quite honest. I just remember Carson Palmer's the last one to not play the entire season. He's the last one that said because like that's not playing the entire season. He was in that. Yeah, I didn't play me. Because he said because John Kitten played like the bangles were actually kind of decent that year. And then Palmer came in the next year and then actually played. But yeah, Palmer's the last one to not play, which I think Cubi at least what he says, that's the goal for the Raiders this year is for Mendoza to not play.
So I think they'll stick to that. I have my doubts, but that's at least what he's saying right now in September. Yeah, I'm not playing week one. I mean, do you want to lay three and a half with this Raiders team? Do you really want to get back, you know, back to Dolphins here? There's no play for me. I think this was the anticipated. This was built into the market. I don't know if you had to take it or lay it right now. Dolphins Raiders week one Raiders laying three and a half total 40 and a half. What direction would you go? I'd lay it without without question. I think Miami might be really. I think Miami might be one of the worst teams we've ever seen. Honestly, I really do. Now I'm not in the back. So what was it? What was it 2019 where they just like they really went like hard tag and people thought, I remember Lewis Riddick's like they're not going to win a game all year. And they actually ended up. It's really true. It's Brian Flores, the head coach at the time. They played hard and after getting in bear. I mean, Baltimore and opening day beat them by one. I was like, he points. Yeah, right into the year they played well. And they actually won in New England, dispoiled New England's shot at a two-seed in a buy in New England and losing the next week.
But yeah, this could be a really bad team. I agree. So yeah, so Mayfield was the last guy. You are correct. Mayfield's the last number and overall guy to not start in week one. He ended up starting in week four for the Cleveland Browns. But he came in in week three. I think he might have. Did he come in on that Thursday night game and saved the day? Or did he start the third? I forgot how it worked out. Corey's a Cleveland guy. He would know. But I just remember that Thursday night game with like the Browns one and they unlocked all the the Bud lights or whatever for the city or whatever it was. I remember that back in a 2018. But yeah, Mayfield didn't start Jared Goff. He didn't start until week 11 for the event. Jeff Fisher coached Los Angeles Rams. But prior to those, James, James started. Andrew Luck started. Cam Newton started. Sam Bradford started. Stafford started. But prior to 2009 with Stafford, a lot of guy, this was the norm. The guy not starting initially. You know, Jamarkas Russell didn't start until week 17. By the way, Alex Smith didn't start till week five. Eli Manning didn't start until week 11.
David Carr, he started week one in their expansion game. But Michael Vick even didn't start till week nine. And Carson Palmer, of course, being the long guy that didn't start or play the entire rookie season. But usually we see these guys early on that rookie year. But it appears. Cousins is first up to bad. And maybe he's got a lot of time to have this job as a Raider starting quarterback. Do you have any X-8? Like, are you out on the Raiders entirely in terms of being a competitive team this year? I don't know what to make of Kubiak as the head coach. I mean, he's a really good play caller. But sometimes that doesn't translate to being a really good head coach. The roster doesn't have a whole lot of talent. But there's some talent there when you look at bowers, the running backs. You still have Max Crosby on defense. Maybe they can make something work by the division. It's so damn difficult as the problem. That's the thing. The last thing you mentioned, I mean, how many division games are they going to weigh? When you have Chiefs Broncos, Chargers, those are six games right off the bat. I mean, what are you going to weigh? You'd be lucky if you won more than a game.
I think the ideal year for the Raiders is, you know, they show a little promise. And they show some improvement here and there. The young players look good. And then next year you're picking the top five again. And then you can hit the ground running with Mendoza. And like with a lot of this stuff, their development, their trajectory is going to depend on the development of Mendoza. If Mendoza is good, they'll be good. If he's not, they won't be. Yeah, I think the goal for the Raiders is to not win games, but cover spreads. I think that's kind of that. When Dan Campbell took over the Detroit Lions, right? Like the Lions that year, it's like, well, the Lions are actually covering a bunch of spreads, even though they're not winning games. And then they finally made a turn the next year. And then the year after that was when they finally popped in year three. But like a part of this rebuild, just be competitive. You know, don't get blown out in every game because that's not a good sign. Be competitive, cover some numbers. And then let's see what it looks like in 2027. One maybe have a better offensive line to protect. Fernando Mendoza, the highest min trophy winner. We'll talk some more NFL though. We're going to take a quick break. This is Veece and Primetime. This is Veece and Primetime. Famine Betfaye, Will Hill here with you guys on this Wednesday night. Right now, the Chicago Cubs have a 5-3 lead in our Veece and Primetime game of the night between the Cubs and the Brewers in half at the plate here in the bottom of the third.
Blue Jays up 9-0 on the Guardians as that is a big result for the AL Wild Card race. And the Mets have the bases loaded in the top of the seventh against the Tampa Bay race two outs though, but the base is juiced for the New York metropolitan. We did though, we'll get a tweet from one of our loyal listeners, our guy Reed Phillips, Chad O'Archoy, Reed Phillips. Love the best, the absolute best. And he asked us this question because we were talking about Cursons starting for the Raiders, Mendoza going to start on the bench this year, but he wanted to know that are you guys thinking about dolphins Raiders for week one circus survivor? Now, I'm assuming he's asking just about the Raiders. I don't know how many people are going to put their survivor entry on the Miami dolphins, but hey, maybe Yolo, you never know, maybe Malik Willis is about to shock the world, but is that a game that you would consider will dolphins Raiders for week one and survivor? Or is that getting quote unquote too cute?
Yes, and yes, it's a great conversation. And I'm not going to sit here like I have got three survivor championships behind me or even one survivor. So you wouldn't be here. It's tough. You could, I would still be here. You and I hanging out. It's way too much fun. I would still be here. It's tough because I feel like the survivor market has gotten so sharp. People listen to these shows and people you know podcasts about survivor. Where years ago, it would just be you avoid the big favorite. You hope they lose and all right. Now you're in good shape. Now half the field's been eliminated and you're not, you weren't part of the carnage. Now I feel like everyone is so contrarian. Everyone gets so cute that I don't know that like Chargers Cardinals. I don't know that people are going to pick the Chargers at a majority like they would of you know, five, 10 years ago. Everyone is kind of thinking outside the box. So I'm actually leading towards going chalk and saying you know what? Stick to the name of the game at least at first and go with the Chargers. Go with the biggest favorite and then start to be a little bit contrarian after the first month or so.
Again, it's you know, you ask anybody about this. Femi, it's well and this entry I'll do that and that entry I'll do this and that complicates it when you've got multiple entries. Yeah. I'm just talking to you. You have one and you're trying to win it, which you know, you probably have to be contrarian if you're going to go that route. So I understand taking the Raiders and at what other point are you going to take the Raiders? Might as well. You know what? You're going to have to take them at some point. Take them now. I get that line of thinking. But because everyone's so contrarian now, I think it might actually be contrarian to take the biggest favorite as a kind of backwards is that sounds. Yeah. Is the Zag actually the Zag? It's almost kind of what we're saying. Like it's like yeah, great way of putting it. Like just do the normal thing and that is actually the Zag because everyone is trying to Zag and do the crazy thing. And honestly, like, and like there's going to be so much content over the next like week or so probably next 10 days about what you should do with your service survivor entry or any survivor pool that you might be in. And I think a lot of I'm curious to see if people end up with, well, look at the charger schedule. They play such a difficult schedule. Just do the conventional thing and play the double digit favorite now.
Because like as you were talking, I never really consider the charges as a week one. Just because like I usually like to avoid the big favorites. But I'm like, I mean, look at this schedule. Okay, they host the cardinals. Then they hosted Raiders like that Raiders game. I know it might look easy, but I don't know man. That's a Raider home game. There's about like 85% 90% Raider fans there. Things can get weird in that match. I think they're going to win. And they'll be big favorites, but things can get weird. But let's say after week two, take a look at this at the bills, at the Seahawks, home Broncos, at the chiefs, by week. So you literally can't use them at the Rams, home Texans, at the Ravens. Are you interested in anything Chargers week three through 10 from a survivor standpoint? I'm not. Now, maybe it's contrarian, but I'm not interested. So maybe the move is to just say, you know what? Let's just use them week one. At least like if you have multiple and if you have one entering, you want to be a little bit contrarian or whatever, maybe do something else. I think the Chargers are under serious consideration, which might sound obvious to say,
like, duh, they're double digit favorite, but that's usually not how I would approach this thing. And I'm actually thinking about, hey, maybe I do need to use the Chargers. But at least one of the entries that I have in Survivor this year. Week seven against the buy. The buy doesn't look that strongly here. So maybe you take them there. But yeah, week 11 against the Jets note. Your point is, no, it's a good one. You look at the path. And after the Raiders, it does get very difficult. Yeah, I just, how many, I guess, how many teams are you concerned? Because we've had the conversation in the past about Survivor. But I mean, it's been about what, five, six weeks since we've talked about it, maybe you've changed your mind. Maybe you felt different about certain teams. Training camp preseason injuries. Maybe that has gotten you off a team or gotten you on to a team. But are there like, are you, are you considering anything with the Australia game? With the Rams and the Niners? No. Okay, that just seems, it just seems very strange. No, hell no. It just seems very strange. Jacksonville is another team. I think a lot of people are like talking about seven and a half, eight point favorites at home against the Sean Watson and the Browns.
Obviously, Sean Watson looked horrendous. I would just, I don't know. I got a weird feeling about that game. I just caution people with like, Cleveland has some talent. And the, and the one thing about Jacksonville, their offensive line is not good. And if you have a bad offensive line, I am always terrified of playing you on Survivor. Or just betting you in general. But especially in Survivor with life on the line, entry on the line, like, I don't know about that one. Would you ever go Philadelphia at home against the Washington Commander's who have gotten nothing but negative press throughout training camp and the preseason? Division game Daniel still really a quarterback. But I mean, I don't know if they can block Philly. So I get it. You're going to take a four point favorite and week one again. It goes to a bigger question of not just, you know, handicapping these teams, which is the philosophical question of how cute do you want to get? And if you're going to get cute, are you really going to use Philly right away? If you're going to take the three or four point favorite, why not just take the Titan to the Raiders? Because if I'm going to get cute and just lay it on the line early,
am I, am I really, do I really want to burn Philly? I don't want to, you know, I don't want to get cute and burn a team that I want to use. I don't know if I want to do that. And I know the answer to this question. But would you ever consider, and what would you say to the people? And people do this and I get it. Look, I'm not, I'm not going to judge anyone's past because again, I've never won this. I've never really been close. I'm going to take the Browns. I'm going to take the Cardinals. I'm just going to go crazy. And if they win, I have crazy equity. What would you say to the person that is thinking about doing that? I would say I hope you have multiple entries. That's what I would say. I wouldn't do it with what, like, honestly, I, if you just have one entry, I'm like, I mean, I don't know, man, like, you're giving yourself, I mean, like, what's the percentage? On the other hand though, on the other hand, if you only have one, don't you kind of have to go crazy when you're competing against so many different ones? And you know what, Arizona pulls off the upset, then all of a sudden, all right, now it's, I've, I've leveled the playing field versus these people that have a ton of entries. I mean, I just, the, why even sign up for the contest?
You know, that's kind of a sponsor. But like, you know, I mean, I'm like, hey, like, I sign up. I got one entry. I'm taking the 10 point dog. Like, mathematically, like, you're going to do it. I mean, I'm self-intensive. People do that. People do that and people think that way. And I would say to those people, have multiple, if you have multiple entries, go ahead and do it. You know, maybe you want to play both the charge and the cardinals and the game ends in a tie and you're out on the outside, outside looking in. But like, if you have multiple entries, like, okay, you, like, I'm down to get first key. But if you have just one, there's different, like, like, play the jets or the Titans if you want to be crazy. I know. You know, play the dolphins or the Raiders. I get it. Don't do the 10 point dog. Like, just don't. And week one, the lines are not as sharp as they're going to be in like week 14, week 17, week 18. But we still at least have some kind of an idea about what these teams are. I think most people out there, I don't know, maybe, maybe we'll all be shocked in about a month or so. But I think most people out there would agree
the chargers are clearly a better team than the cardinals. Now to what degree, that's up for debate, of course. But I think most would agree, hey, Los Angeles is better than Arizona. So like, don't put yourself at such a big disadvantage by taking a mathematical spot to where it's like, hey, I only have about, I don't know, what do they think I like? Well, I got like 8% chance to win or something like that. Like, I don't know the math on the fly. But like, it's, you're just not setting yourself up for success as far as I'm concerned. But hey, that's up for debate. Ultimately, how great is this? How great is this? How many, how great is this? Just thinking about it, talking about it, having these games to watch and bet and contest, man, it's just, there's nothing better. Even though it can be stressful at times, you get mad when you lose. It's just, it's great. It really is so much fun. If it wasn't stressful, it wouldn't be fun. That's the way I look at it. You know, if it was as easy, it's like, okay, this is kind of boring. But the fact that it is stressful, the fact that it's high stakes, the fact that you feel like your life is on the line sometimes with these survivor entries.
That's what makes it the best. Speaking of which, quick programming note after the break, Vison Primetime is stepping aside for the Circus survivor documentary.
