This is Veecin by the Bucks on Veecin, the sports vetting network. Top of the hour it is Veecin by the Bucks Dave Ross right here. You gave me all. A friend can talk to you. Our closing agenda. So let's get ready. Get those back. Back. Got some college baseball assignments coming up. You're going to have you here. Been gaming on next week right there in Cleveland, Ohio. Are you fully prepared packed ready to go to get the college baseball coverage underway here soon? Yeah, we'll get everything done this afternoon. We'll bounce right after our show tomorrow and get a little drive from Atlanta. I am hoping that I have avoided all of the issues with TSA. Yeah. So again, I'm fortunate in Cleveland here. We usually knock on wood. Don't have any issues. It's coming back on Friday after our show from Atlanta Hearts Field. So hopefully fingers crossed. We're all good there. And straight shot to you, my friend to BNA down there at Nashville.
And we will have ourselves a Thursday and Friday as the masters begins next week. Oh, can you tell the people? Do you know the broadcast schedule where people can catch you besides our after they watch you for three hours right here in Veecin by the books, but we want more. You got it. How will we get that? Believe it. Yeah. Thursday this week. So we'll be in Auburn. It'll be Auburn against Arkansas. Both teams coming off getting swept Auburn swept by the Crimson Tide. There are tribal and Florida taking it to Arkansas this past week. So a real tough series, both looking for bounce backs. And then next week, that'll be on ESPN 2, I should say ESPN 2 on Thursday. And then next week, my friend, it'll be the opener for Oklahoma and Vanderbilt. And yes, my comedors sweeping, not just a sweep of the arch rival Tennessee volunteers Dave, three consecutive walkoff wins and a grand slam walkoff homer on Sunday after noon. Tennessee doesn't do orange people.
It's all black and gold. Let's go, baby. Oh, that's going to be a great call. I'm going to check about Thursday on ESPN 2. We love it. We always need it. And we get it each and every Tuesday. It's our chaos candidates. Let's get to it today. Did that base chaos candidate number one, Jensen Lewis, you have won the toss elected to receive who you got today. All right. Tobacco roads going to find a new man in Chapel Hill and right now, Billy Donovan could be that guy to create all kinds of chaos checking prediction markets here this morning Dave. It's a pretty healthy lead percentage wise upwards of 56% for him to become the next head coach of the University of North Carolina. So I think with Tommy Lloyd and I'll reiterate it for people just joining us. You know, if I'm a booster at Arizona, if I'm a booster at Michigan, you know, why not
sweet the pot as much as possible? Is it really about the pedigree there? Because think about what you've built already at Arizona. Okay. So that's something is really, and let's say the money is no object, it can be equal in both places. Would you rather have to start all the way over, you know, and be in the shadows of some of the greatest of all time and not to say that, you know, hey, the loot also in shadows is still pretty big there in the desert and Tucson. If I'm dusty, may at Michigan, you've got arguably one of the richest donor alumni bases that there is in college sports. You can name your price. So what's the real draw for both those guys? If they're leaving their established programs, and it's them that has built those programs into what they are today, Billy Donna and feels like plug and play. He's already done the professional level. He already understands what it takes to take a university to an national title. He's done it in one of the toughest conferences in the SEC. It feels like he can just come in really adapt quite quickly.
With NIL being what it is, Dave, you want a CEO type in this position? And yes, he'll do the coaching, but I feel like he just knows what he needs to do and we'll have that pedigree to hit the ground running from day number one. I, well, I'm starting to feel my age because he's always going to be Billy the kid to me playing for Providence, playing for some guy named Rick Patino in the final four. They played Syracuse that year in that final four 1987. Well, a long time ago, and now he's an established coach. I love the chaos candidate there. I'll tell you guys not taking the UNC job is Dan Hurley. You know why? Because he said the store's Connecticut is the basketball capital of the world. Dan Hurley is an absolute madman. And I'm starting to really change my opinion on Dan Hurley because it's so easy to easy to dislike the guy. Why? Because he's a nut job over there. He's headbutting officials after games is jacket is half off, half on. He's taking off his glasses, hinting to the officials to see if they can see clearly. He is a nut job, but there is a method to his madness.
He is the ultimate chaos candidate. And I look at you kind of plus five 50 in the betting mark and I go, you want me to bet against that guy? Are you serious? I don't know that I can do it. So while I think Illinois is more talented, I do think that he's got out of the four teams to say the least talented team. They're very talented you can. So I think Dan likes to play that card a little bit too and kind of look at me. So you don't look at my players all the time. It takes a lot of the shield and a lot of heat off the guys because it all goes to Dan Hurley. Well, what's there to criticize? You know, I was joking because he retweeted his own tweet about stores being the capital of the basketball capital of the world and I said, you can't retweet your own tweet. Well, I guess when you go to three, five and fours and four years, you can do where hell you please. And that's what Dan Hurley does. So he carries the big stick in stores, right? And that stick goes all across the country here as the top dog. I think you make the case. The top dog right now when it comes to coaching, not the final four in general.
It might be Dan Hurley with all due respect to Tom is a and Rick patina. And I know somebody tweeted out there that, you know, if he was Italian, he doesn't get the love because he's not Italian like iso is and like patina was like if it was, if Hurley was from from the Milan, then maybe we'd have a different view of Dan Hurley. I think he might be the best basketball coach in the country. So to me, I don't know that I want to fade a guy that's being discounted his team at plus five 50 in the marketplace because quote, they're not as good as the other teams. I think that's part of the madness, part of the chaos that Dan Hurley brings. He makes people believe that. I don't know if it's true. This is the ultimate chaos candidate, certainly in March and normally carries over to April. All right. Chaos usually ensues every third year since we've had the world baseball classic and a lot of that has had to do with pictures that participate, have to get ramped up early. We've already seen maybe some early and I underlying extremely early results.
Just one start from guys like Paul schemes and Logan Webb and Matthew Boyd, but put a pin in it because it's something to follow. And I will not pass judgment early, but it is always a theme that I harken back to because we have enough evidence of over 20 years, Dave, that world baseball classic participants and namely pictures can have some issues. And sometimes those issues really surface in the first couple of months of seasons. Now injuries have followed. We've seen it happen early. We've seen it happen middle of the season and a lot can be related back to ramping up far earlier in a spring training calendar that asks you to basically throw leverage October type innings in these knockout rounds of the world baseball classic. So food for thought. Just kind of paper trade this. I'd be looking at outs recorded for Paul schemes, looking web, Matthew Boyd, even Aaron Nola, who was fantastic for team Italy.
No, he gave up a couple of homers there in his Philly's debut, just something to be mindful of as better as we always look for things to try and leverage a market, try and exploit maybe some early differences that you can take a advantage of. Just put a pin in that for world baseball classic pictures. If indeed the trend continues where it's been a little slow out of the gates, might be ways to be able to monetize those situations. And particularly those starting pictures make their turns in their respective rotations. Just we've got some of the most powerful leaders right now that are in Phoenix for the NFL owners meetings, right? And I wish if you want to really be an agent of chaos and really be out there for the fan because they say everything they do is for the fans. Is it really? I don't think the news because if it were, there would be an NFL owner, any NFL owner that would be willing to stand on the table and say no to streaming services. This is terrible for us is better. Right.
We're always lagging. Depending on your internet, I got to watch a game on Netflix. I got to watch a game on prime. I got to watch a game on this streaming service and whatever the next one's going to be. This is not good for the NFL fan. It's great for the owner because you're just making money hand over fist. I go back to Gordon Gecko in Wall Street. How many yachts can you water ski behind as an NFL owner? You have enough money, right? So can you do something for the fan? Can you streamline one thing for the fan and say, you know what? I'm not going to make you go buy that next service and because we will because the NFL is our drug and we'll do it. We say we won't, but we will because when we want to watch that game, well, how do I get that game? Well, I got to go get this service and I got to add it this week and maybe I'll forget to cancel it next week. Then you get your bill. Right. That's what's going to happen. The NFL knows that. We don't want to do us, Jensen. So they're just going to keep putting out there another one on a string on an upstream server. Would one owner have the guts to stand up to the other guys and go, Hey, don't, don't
we make enough money as it is? Alrighty, Jensen. Do we really need more? Huh? Do we? No, we don't. So let's do something nice for our fan base and not make you stream it. And then when you go into your live app to bet because that's what we all do these days, you go, wait a minute. Why is this number at six and a half? They're on the two yard line. They figure out your two plays behind and they've already got picked off in the end zone. Do something for us. Don't make us watch this on streaming services. Let this watch us at home with our families like we normally do on the four letter networks, whatever it might be, three letter networks, CBS, NBC, whatever. Just do something for the fan one time NFL. It's not going to happen, Jensen. But that would be my plea to an NFL owner with some backbone to say we're going to stop all these streaming services. This is madness and it needs to end. Now again, if one of those streaming services decides to do our show and promote our show and want to be a partner, then I'll change my tune. But for today, Jensen, I say no to streaming services NFL, give us back our football the
way we like. Any chance of that happening? You're Jerry McGuire moment. Sugar, I love you, but Jerry McGuire, he didn't love it. When we come back, the daily diamond is in our lives. Jensen can't wait to find out what nuggets you have here for Major League Baseball to make you a better, better. That is next right here on Beasts and Bottle Loads. Jensen, this feels like an invaluable betting tool day in and day out for the Major League Baseball season.
And with that, Jensen, let's talk a little bit more about what we have in the docket today as we have a deep card here in Major League Baseball. Let's get to it in today's edition of the Daily Diamond. You're looking at some run lines to kick off today's action and what have you found that you think might be profitable today? All right. So last year, we can at least look at some trends from last year and maybe get a little window into what teams possibly perform, whether it be home, away against a common league opponents, non league opponents, run, run away for a lot of people will resonate from the musical anecdote. But what we are referring to are some teams that were outstanding or very far from it when they were trying to cover it. Let's start with the ones that were really good. So last year, Dave, the Marlins in non league games, meaning when the Marlins played American
league teams, they were the best 20 games over 500 in covering run lines, 34 and 14. Guess what? They're oh and four overall this year when they're trying to cover a run line period. So take that for what it's worth. The Blue J's last year, one of the best when you lay the one and a half, 36 and 19. They are playing the Rockies who absolutely pasted them last night might be a great bounce back spot for Toronto today. White socks really good to you're kind of getting a trend here. Some teams that may not have been the best in the white socks and now the raise, white socks were 28 and 20 last year, raised 27 and 21. Both of those teams around the road. Let me bring to light Dave, the Colorado Rockies are a perfect 4 and 0 covering the run line so far this year and they've only had, you know, those four games and obviously they got their first one yesterday. So take that for what it's worth. They've been really solid at being able to do that.
Does that continue today? We shall see, but just some early trends through the first three to four games of some teams that are really good so far on the run line. Well, I love what you did there because again, if you look at the Rockies and I was watching closely against the fight and fish this weekend with a big ticket on Miami's over total. The Rockies are one in three, but perfect denotation, four and 0, as you mentioned on the run line lost all those games by one run in Miami. And by the way, the Marlins O and four to that end, as you pointed out, they're minus $1.56 today with Jansen junk in the bump against Eric Betty, the white socks. If you want to take them on the run line today, the break that hex if you will get to one four, it's plus money, a plus $1.35. You mentioned the blue jays against the Rockies there. If you want to take Max Scherzer and lay that run in a half, he's the starting pitcher. You still have to lay $1.26 for Toronto against Colorado today. How about the regular season wins market? I love this market. I have not bet it yet because I took your advice and said, let's wait. Let's not run before we walk here.
Let's see how these teams get off in the good foot. I am a little bit surprised at the early success here for the blue jays, 15 to one short numbers there to have the most regular season wins tigers way down there at 45 to one. I wonder if they're already starting to see holes in the rotation past your superstars at the top. Well, what's unique is that you can still get better prices on teams that maybe have gotten off to a little bit of a slower start. You mentioned Detroit. They're two and two after they fall last night with Justin Verly under back in the mountain of Tiger uniform and what feels like since I played, oh, yep, that's the case. But at 45 to one, you know, that that's kind of a nice value for a club that you could probably put it together here. And if they do, well, you're going to want to have some shares of that in pocket. The Orioles stood out to me as well, also two and two in looking at that early schedule. Remember, we have both the Orioles and the Cubs 20 to one and 40 to one in pocket for the most wins by the end of April.
Let me let me lean you towards the Mariners here at 17 to one. You know, Seattle and a great series against the Guardians, they end up going two and two. They get the early series opening win against the Yankees and walkoff fashion last night. And so at three and two might not be bad to jump in on the Mariners at 17 to one again, early indicators looking at some numbers, Dave, that makes sense off of teams and maybe for more of a value price right now versus what they could be in maybe three to four weeks time. I don't want to say that our guy Larry Mirabagh in Vegas today is a little bit downtrod, but you could hear in his voice to begin our show this morning, very upset about that Dodger first loss rich people problems. There's still minus the dollar 65 buck up Dodger fans. There are dollar 65 betting favorite odds on to have the most wins in the regular season very quickly. That's not a bet you'd make demarcation line there.
Jensen is after that, it's 12 to one for the Yankees. You go from minus at our 65 for the most wins to 12 to one for the Yankees. And that's kind of ridiculous. Well, yeah, and it's also a reason why one of my favorite season win totals was, you know, the Dodgers under 102 and a half. It's about motivation and they don't care about winning the most regular season games. They care about winning the most postseason games. That's what they did last year. So again, you're looking at teams that would have a viable path through. So already just some great value and some of those teams at some more advantageous numbers. Brewers, by the way, had the best regular season last year right now. They're 25 to one to pull that trick two years in real. We love these crossport parlays. I love the way you put these together out there. They're normally a lot of their geographically fun to do. For some pizza money plays, Jensen, what are you concocted today? It's exactly where we went. So we've got our final four for men's basketball. And when I was putting these together, I'm thinking to myself, hey, that's there's some really juicy parlays.
Okay, so Michigan to cut down the nets geographically parlayed with their neighbors in the Detroit Tigers to win the World Series 61 to one. So just food for thought. Okay, when you're looking at the World Series prices right now, the Tigers are currently 22 to one. So Michigan cuts down the nets. You now have the Detroit Tigers at 61 to one to win the World Series. A very, very cool price to have for a team that many believe. We'll have a great shot to go deep into October, at least in the American League side. Similarly with Illinois, we just talked about to win the men's tournament and the Chicago Cubs to win the World Series. So it should Illinois cut down the nets. The Cubs as of today on draft Kings are 19 to one. So you're going to get that at 99 to one. If Illinois wins the men's basketball tournament, and then the Cubs would be a 99 to one ticket to win the World Series, gets even better. How about your Huskies?
Yukon to cut down the nets. The Boston Red Sox to win the World Series. That ticket, 19 to one, the Red Sox are 16 to one standalone to win the World Series. And then finally, this is kind of the lottery ticket. I don't know if it's getting home. But the first leg, if you get Arizona to win the national championship, mentioned you early in the show, the Diamondbacks rotation, I think has some legs to it. Now, I'm not saying they're going to win it all. Right now, the Diamondbacks are 70 to one to win the World Series. But can I interest you in a 197 to one shot if the Wildcats of Arizona win the national championship? Now you've got Tori Lavello's crew instead of 71, you've got them at 197 to one. Just saying, Dave, you can take a full unit, and you can chop it into quarters, and you're going to get at least one of those tickets live by the time we get to Tuesday morning. Okay, I love with your heads out with this. Now, here's what I would push back.
If I don't believe that the Diamondbacks out of those four teams in Major League Baseball, I don't think they can win the World Series. The other three, I think are plausible. Ironically, the tickets I'd like the most would be the Cubs in the Align Eye, and the Red Sox in Yukon at their price points, 99 and 1091. Let's just say I played those two. You're going to get a guaranteed loser coming out obviously, because you can only have one of these two teams advanced. And then you get as a route against Michigan, Arizona in the championship game. I mean, it doesn't guarantee you a spot. Do we think the Tigers can really win it? Can the Tigers really win it? Because when I'm getting at, I think there's value in either the Illinois or Yukon side to come out of this thing, and possibly win on Monday night. And then I'm sitting with a ticket at 100 to one or over 100 to one. Oh, Jensen, I love those price points there. Could I eliminate the first and fourth and just play two and three? And no, I got a shot Monday night in a long shot.
Well, here, I'm, you're only a handful of years removed from the Diamondbacks being under 500 in 2023. And in September and they make the run that no one saw coming to get to the World Series. So if anything, these would just be great monetization spots to get one of those clubs to the World Series. And then boy, you have an outstanding exceptional ROI to pay out for a hatch. Absolutely love it. You're going to love this because we got JD. The Iceman's coming up next. Jonathan Davis got some plays that he likes tonight. I'm going to look ahead to the second season in the NHL. Come on back. It's a piece of, I don't know. You're too dim to be sent by the books right here on Visa. We will have our best bets before this show is done. But Jensen, we love catching up with the Iceman, Jonathan Davis this time of the week.
As we get ready for that second season in the NHL, there's a great job here on the network. Again, when you're a decent pro subscriber, you know, Jonathan's work each and every day to get you some of those best bets out there. Get me a file on X at West Coast hockey. This is a new Twitter handle NHL is at the end of that HKY on Twitter. JD joins us now here on the progressive guest line. Look, we're not trying to bash on the NBA, Jonathan. But Jensen, I were talking about it yesterday, like with all due respect to the first two rounds, the NBA playoffs, if that moves you great, it'll get good once we get the Eastern Conference, Western Conference finals. That's not the case in the NHL. The second that puck drops to begin that second season, I think you can make the case. It's the best out of all the four major sports. I can't wait for it already. Why is that JD? Why is it that from that first game in the second season that the NHL for whatever reason, it just takes on a theater of its own? Well, this is the argument that Commissioner Gary Bettman has when people push back and
want to change the format to one through eight in each conference. And he's talking about the fact, you know, you get rivalries in that first round. And strictly also from a dollar's incentive standpoint, they went back and took a look. There are more series that go at least six games in this division format than when they were playing a one through eight system prior. So, you know, the hatred within the division definitely helps longer series and more intense games. JD, for people that are just dipping their toes into the hockey season now, obviously we're getting to the end of it. Playoff race that maybe has your eye. The most here is it an Eastern Conference battle. I can't believe my blue jackets are doing what they're doing. Man, this has been, uh, bonus has just been a godsend. It's been fun to watch. Is it an Eastern Conference race or a Western Conference race that you might have your eye on here? Oh my god. I think it's kind of both. I mean, you've got about like, it seems like 10 teams fighting for four spots in the Eastern Conference between, you know, what's going on in the Metro division
involving the Columbus Blue Jackets, the New York Islanders, the Pittsburgh Penguins, Ottawa's fighting for a spot. And then out west, you know, as Connor McDavid called it, you know, a couple of weeks ago, the pillar division, you know, people are fighting for territory in the Pacific division and for, you know, essentially the final wild card spot. You know, the national predators are hanging around, but hey, the San Jose sharks came up with a huge win last night in regulation. And now they've kind of gotten themselves back in the mix. So, uh, you know, I said it before, I really want to see San Jose get into the playoffs. And last night, Maclin Celebrini at 19 years old, eclipse the 100 point mark. I'm not sure if I'm more impressed with the fact that this 19 year old has over 100 points in the NHL or he's done it with what I would consider relative ease. JD, I want to ask you before we get into some of your plays that you like tonight here on the ice. And Jensen, I kicked it around with John Torrella. And you know, I didn't see this coming with Cassidy over the weekend. I covered him back in his DC days when he was the youngest head
coach at that time. I'll way back when and did not see this change coming. And you're bringing a guy like John Torrella at this time of the year so far, so good with a 4 2 win last night. They're plus 650. The third betting choice here to win the West. Is this the kick in the pants if these guys needed? Is there value in that number to you? I don't think that no, there's not value to me. I'm still not buying Vegas. It is the move that this team needed. You know, I had one player guys tell me on Sunday, it was four years of hell with Bruce Cassidy. And that same player had shared that with me during the year that they won the cup. Bruce is a very demanding and successful coach, but it just wears on you very quickly. And guys and did not like coming to work every day. And that was a big problem in Vegas. And you know, it just it got to the point where they're seeing themselves possibly not making the playoffs and they're still not in yet. So it was the right move.
You know, the one thing with John Torrella guys, different from Bruce Cassidy. Look, they're they're very similar in that they're demanding, but Bruce, you know, Bruce many times last compassion where Torrella gives a lot of compassion. JD, compassion is not something I have for my people in Michigan as an Ohio State fan. However, I do sideline that when I need to win a Red Wings bet. Is this a great spot to back Detroit tonight? Obviously, they are in the thick of a fight here for not only a wild card spot, but trying to get into this playoff picture. Are the Red Wings a good side and maybe a team total you might have in mind? Yeah, the Red Wings are a very confusing team to me. You know, they win games lately at the not that you don't think they will and they lose games that you think they they should win. The way I would back Detroit tonight is I like their team total over three. They get Pittsburgh tonight on the back end of a back-to-back and oh my god, you know, eight goals in the second period last night in that Pittsburgh Islanders game. What a wild
one that was if you had the like I had the first period over and I'm watching the game, but if I wasn't and I saw it came back and just saw the score, I would have died that my first period over didn't cash. But as we look to tonight, Detroit gets Stuart Skinner in net for Pittsburgh and Skinner's given up at least three goals in seven consecutive starts. So give me the Red Wings team total over three tonight at worst you push. Jonathan, looking at Tampa Bay and Montreal tonight and Tampa Bay, by the way, the short shots to win the East at plus 210. Montreal, maybe a hidden gen there at 12 to one. What do we make of Leia, but don't can they score enough goals tonight to get you to the window? Well, I think that they and Tampa can score enough goals combined. Here's a stat that our good friend Steve McAnon has been tracking since the beginning of the year. The Montreal Canadians when playing teams that give up less than 2.9 goals per game are now 12 and
0 to the over this year. So give me over six Tampa and Montreal and I'll have a thing I will add to this one here. Cole Coffield, Mr. Saturday night as he has been dubbed. He's got 20 goals on Saturday. I have his 46 this year, but I'll take him and Darren Radish of the Tampa Bay Lightning in a shots on goal, partly at over three to get me a nice plus money price. All right, the Kachak brothers channel in inner inner memory for me of the mighty ducks. When it was Fulton Reed and Dean Portman, it is always great for those that remember that reference as one of the great things of our childhood memory. So we got Matthew Kachak, we got Brady Kachak and we've got the great one, the great eight Alex Ovechkin. It's a little shot on goal, Parla, you have, how did you build it? What do you like on it? Yeah, so both Matthew and Brady, their shot volume has been up lately. I think they both cashed at least three shots on goal. I think I like eight of their last 10. Alexander Ovechkin is
sitting on 29 goals, one shy of 30. His numbers against Philadelphia, I think it's now seven of his last eight. He's had at least three shots on goal against the flyers. So give me all three of these guys because they're, I don't want to play them at three and a half, which is they're, you know, the number that they're posting up, but I'll take them in all shots on goal, Parla, Ovechkin to get at least three. Matthew and Brady to get at least three, you get that at about plus 175, I think it was. What do you make of our Olympic hero in Jack Hughes tonight here? Because it feels like he's carried that over, that good play from the Olympics here. Is there an actual play here on Hughes? Jack Hughes loves playing against the New York Rangers. He's had at least two points in five of the last six games against the Rangers. He had a three point and a four point game against them this season. He's got at least two points in eight of his last 13. He has been on quite a role. So give me Jack Hughes tonight over one and a half points at about plus 142. I'd
also look to maybe put him in a in a shots on goal, Parla as well at over three and a half with his teammate, Timo Meyer. They're shot totals against the Rangers that have been roughly around four to five in most of the games. And I would even look at Jack at over four and a half, sprinkle that for an all shots on goal, Parla, but best bet for this one for me over one and a half points. And I'll also look at the Devils team total over three. They scored six against the Rangers in both meetings this year. You can get down to about minus 117. JD, we have tanking in the NBA and not to say that the NHL has it, but dear God watching Vancouver in Chicago and the Western Conference this year has left a lot to be desired. Do we get an advantageous spot here with where the black hawks are going up against Winnipeg? We have a team total you might have in mind. Yeah, you know, again, Chicago, but they played really hard and and you know, they're not, you know, I wouldn't say that they're that they're tanking. The black
hawks, the cutouts definitely are tanking, but this is a really good spot for Winnipeg. You can get their team total tonight at over three at about minus 130. The black hawks have given up at least three goals in eight of their last nine games. They've given up four goals and six of those games. I love Winnipeg and over, you know, over three at their team total over three. And I would look to find a way to get Jonathan Taves into a shots on goal parlay and he's going to be at over one and a half. You could put him, you know, in a parlay with his teammates Kyle Conner and Mark Shifley, you know, over three to get yourself a good plus price and maybe even throwing Connor Bedard into that. This is likely Jonathan Taves final game in Chicago. I don't think he's coming back next year to be in a very emotional night. I think that they're going to do everything they can to try to get him a goal. JD, great stuff as always. Again, be some pro subscribers. Get access to all of your picks each and every day. I just want to say before we get to the second season,
I can't wait to ask you next week about coaches you trust in the betting market in a second season. We're talking about it now with the final four in college basketball. I can't wait to pick your brain on coaches that you trust to put your money on, not just the teams. That's going to come up later. But great stuff as always. Our best bets. He trust in the betting market in the second season. And I thought the nugget on Bruce Cassidy and that the Golden Knights guys, Jensen, just hated going to work. That's insight that a guy like Jonathan Davis gets access to. And I think I'm not saying that that lifted yesterday. We saw VGK go out there with a nice comfortable four to two win last night with Torrella. Ninth the winning is coached in the history of the NHL. Again, I'm not ready to get to the window on VGK, but I think the perception changes. We talk about it in the final four. Sometimes we're betting on coaches as much as we are the teams, right? So, you know, we ran that sound bite with Dustin Sweetleson. We're ever get your podcast. Take a listen to Cashy out and start we are podcasts, recently by the books. Jensen,
how much of that at this time of the year in the second season? It's maybe not as much in the NBA, but it feels like in hockey and it feels like certainly in the final four. We're looking at coaches almost as much as the players themselves. Well, I mean, it's it's why you still look to Tampa for me, the lightning in the Eastern Conference. And I love what Buffalo's done. It's a great story, but it still would be Tampa Bay out of the East. If you're forcing me to make one future, that's where I would go. I told you before, my early futures on the Minnesota Wild at 27 to 1 to win the last and 40 to 1 to win the cup. I think God, they got Quinn Hughes because I don't know if they would be able to advance. Now, the problem with the NHL postseason picture is that the way it's going right now, Minnesota's got the matchup against Dallas in their own division in that first round. So I do have a ticket on Dallas to hoist the cup, but I'm going to lose one of those with that matchup should have transpired. The ducks, I actually really like I have them at 60 to 1.
So again, kind of that risk board analogy, I've got the Western Conference pretty much surrounded. It's just some that can someone take out Colorado. I mean, they have been just a jug or not, man, it has really not mattered. And I'm anxious to see what the Western Conference ends up looking like. If someone right now Nashville would end up taking on Colorado, if you're looking for a quick exit in the first round, kind of feels like that could be a gentleman suite there, a little four, one action, maybe the Preds steal one of those, but I can't see that series going past five. But the East is open, man. Caroline, I know I said it to you the other day. Carolina, unique style. It would be a strength on strength if Carolina and Tampa met in the Eastern Conference Finals. But the East is open, man. And Buffalo's going to have something to say about this by the time it's all said and done. Yeah, I can't wait for that second season. And by the way, I am kind of looking at Montreal, a little bit at 12 to 1 in the East. And I know it's been what since the early 90s since Canada said anything to write home about here when it comes to the Stanley Cup. Maybe
they can break the curse this year, but it's kind of like a cowboy curse right now that Canada has when it comes to the Stanley Cup that they've got going on. We mentioned the final four. Obviously, you're going to take center stage Saturday in any napless. We're going to have the Great West West Reynolds on tomorrow on the program, not just breaking down what we see this week on the Texas two step here in the PGA tour, but also get his thoughts on the final four in his home city of Indy. And the reason why I bring that up is for the Midwest for Michigan and the fight in the line on. Does that feel like a bit of a home court advantage that they're playing this in Indianapolis? And I know it's as as neutral as you can possibly make it. We talk about sometimes, you know, Houston got a favorable draw. They couldn't get out of their own city here. Does that play into it at all that the Midwest teams per se in the Illinois and Michigan might have a slight advantage over you kind of in Arizona? Absolutely. I mean, that makes it easy. If you've never been down mass app Dave in downtown Indianapolis, you will see plenty of maze and blue. You
will see plenty of of orange there from the Align Eye faithful. You will see a lot of husky blue out there and make no mistake. Arizona people can travel to. You've probably got some snowbirds that are fans that maybe be located back here in the Midwest, but I would say it would be well represented. Downtown Indianapolis for people who have never made the trip. It is incredibly walkable. It's incredibly fun. There's a lot of different things you can do right down there by Lucas Oil Stadium. So it's going to be a great atmosphere and excited to see it get underway here on Saturday night. So we mentioned this that the number did go to two and a half here in the last 24 hours to the way of Illinois over Yukon and that's all sitting in about 139 and a half there. Michigan after this one kind of volleyed through zero a little bit here feels like it's still I don't want to say cementing because it could certainly change, but maybe it's starting to harden a little bit on the one and a half side here for Michigan. I think Matt humans pointed out
number one, you can find some rogue twos out there for the Wolverines. I think if you I don't think we'll get to two and I don't know that we're going to get past two in the major books here, but if you ever threw out a two and a hook out there, I think I just whatever side that happened to be on and looks like that would be to the way of the Wolverine. I think I just bet it and take the two and a half because I could see this being a one possession game. I think the point Jensen is this does feel like an Ali Frazier in their prime undefeated. Somebody's O's got to go know these teams aren't undefeated, but in the boxing analogy that you get two real heavyweights going at it here. How do you decide between these two? This is a pretty easy decision for me because I picked Michigan to win it all and I have seen nothing to dissuade me from that. I'll do respect to our our hefe Steve Cohen. I will be rooting from a self-restand point in my bracket pool, but also I just think from the numbers and I'm anxious to see how it kind of changes where the
money comes in potentially on Saturday. If there is any significant movement, but everything I look at here, Dave, I don't want anything to do with the spread and it probably doesn't matter for me. I agree with you. I hard press to think it gets anywhere above two, but I would just lay the money line. I think Michigan is the better team. If it comes down to the final possession fine, but I think Michigan finds a way to get the national title game on Monday night. So the other game here at the other game, I hate referring to it as the other game the other game the way you kind, but because when you get this all time, what feels like with these two number one seeds, I get it, but it really is a great matchup, right? That again, we talked about with Brad Underwood. I think sometimes he gets the shorter end of that coaching stick here, but I think the way they've put this team together there and I know it's a different day and age now within IAL, but still recruiting even with money, you got to go get those kids from overseas here and that you really get that flavor here from the align I that they match the bigs with the smallest pretty darn well. And you can't being devoid of talent to be able to match up with these
other three teams. I think is also a fallacy here. Jets and what in your eyes separates it because if I'm not mistaken, the first time these two teams matched up, you can handle them pretty easily. That would be the side for me. The early lean would be Yukon Moneyline and selfishly again, I'll be rooting my better half Michelle has Yukon in the final of this bracket pool that we're in. So I got no more dog in the fight here when Duke was eliminated there on that last second three pointer, but I would harken people back to Illinois. The reason I selected them in that region, I was not convinced about Florida down the stretch. I thought my Vanderbilt Commodore's could have had a chance to knock them out had they made it into the sweet 16. Just felt that their road had a lot of landmines and that Illinois could handle if indeed it was the matchup and it did get that way against Houston. You and I said this last year as part of our handicap. Would you rather bet on a team that can score or would you rather bet on a team that could keep you from scoring.
And you and I both are like, if we got to make it a track meet, give me the team that offensively could be more efficient. If I get a plane to the 80s and the 90s, so be it. If my ceiling is like mid 60s 70s, I can't get there. So they're not only efficient on the offensive side, but I think they're going to give the front court of Yukon some issues to think about. You remember guard play wins here in the NCAA tournament. You got two great ones there for Illinois and their back court. So I think it's going to be great, man. I don't know if there is a lot of daylight between which matchup you'd like better. I think we're going to get two absolute gems here on Saturday night. Yeah, right there with you again. We talked about it. Teams we thought could play both ways, right? And that would be Illinois, Michigan and Arizona. Certainly you want to play. You want to slow down great. We got big for days. That's fine. We'll play half court. You want to run? We got gazelles. We'll get out there and run with you. No problem. Either way, it feels like Yukon again, not that they're devoid of that talent, but maybe they don't want to play that high tempo game
that these other two teams can play. That's why that total at 139.5. I think is so fascinating right now here. What style of play does Illinois want to play? Because you get down a dirty with Dan Hurley. That's exactly the way he wants it. That's exactly what he wants to play. So I wonder if Illinois will push pace a little bit more that they have in some of their last outings. Gents and great stuff. We'll have much more time to break it down as the week goes. And again, I can't wait to get to our golf conversations. Also UFC talk later on the week as well. So not just the final four. And of course, the daily diamond each and every day right here on decent by the books. If you want more of these and you've been watching on Fando sports network, you can get it. Beeson.com, the decent watch app. We've got a numbers game with Gill Alexander and Kelly Bidlin. They're up next.
