1:26We're going to get down to the sweet 16. After this day is done, we're going to talk some UFC, some golf as well. But we do have a lot to get to. It does start with March Madness as we whittle it down now to the dirty dozen. That's where we begin this hour with our highlights and headlines. Help your bottom line with today's highlights and headlines. We've got four more games today. We had four games yesterday, Arizona, Illinois, Iowa, and Purdue, getting those punch tickets to the Elite 8. And we'll punch four more of those after the day is done today. And then it's just amazing how quickly this gets to, we'll be at the Elite 8 and before you know it, Jensen, you and I come back on Monday, it'll be down to the final four, just like that. We talk about with football season. It's so condensed when you get to March here and that race to get to the final four. It's over before it begins. It feels like, hey, Texas gave Purdue all they could handle yesterday.

2:29You get a tip in at the buzzer for Purdue to get that win. Texas gets the money there. Iowa was down double digits for the majority of that first half. And they come back and beat Illinois late, Illinois, they beat Nebraska late to play Illinois, Illinois dominant in their victory yesterday against Houston and Arizona. Absolutely smack around Arkansas there for the better half, a better part of two halves there, putting up over a hundred there. What was the biggest takeaway from you last night, Jensen, whether it's betting or overall perception after those games last night? Selfishly love that Illinois keeps my final four intact. I don't know if I was ever worried that Arizona would at least get through. I think you and I looked at Arkansas, maybe putting up a bigger fight. But Arizona hitting 60% from three over 64% from the field, you were not beating them last night. I don't care if you had the monsters in there from space jam, Arizona looked absolutely

3:29ridiculous. Other takeaways, Purdue finds ways to let some teams hang around. You mentioned Texas a couple of walking wounded there, but credit to Sean Miller and the coaching there. He did have chances at the end, Purdue, just a little bit better. And boy, when you don't have bigs down low, and now is key with the foul trouble with the long horns, that allows Purdue to get one more big man in there for the tip in. They end up escaping. But I think overall this miraculous run from Iowa deserves all kinds of credit, man. This has been, you know, one of the better coaching jobs overall, we are, we are just fascinated to see how this can transpire. We were waiting for Cinderella, Cinderella now wears, you know, the Hawkeye's colors. And shall that transpire tomorrow, my, oh my, will it be a party in Indianapolis from those in Iowa? Iowa is 45 to one to win three more games.

4:31So it looked, but what he's doing there in year number one for Hawkeye Nation is rather astounding to see them. But the betting market still says an extreme long shop Arizona is the betting favorite right now, plus 240 cut down the nets here. Illinois has now gone into single digits there, plus 750 out there in the marketplace here for due after their win last night, 12 to one, but they have Arizona up on deck to get to the final four. So the sweetness will continue tonight. We will be down to the elite eight in the big matchup. It does feel like his Duke against St. John's look, Spartan, Yukon, that should be a great one there. All in the East region here with all due respect, obviously, to, uh, to the other games, the other two games that are going to go on tonight with Alabama, Michigan, and Tennessee and Iowa State. But Rick Patino, he's been in this spot. He's won a national championship before he, he's been to final fours with Providence back in the eighties. I mean, you name it. It's Louisville taking those teams Kentucky and now he's doing with St. John's and he was asked about the message that he's going to try to give six and a half point underdogs

5:34141 and a half is that total against Duke tonight. Let's hear from Swicky Reki on what his message is to his St. John's red storm. I was joking yesterday with the team a little bit about, you know, you can't, this is a once in a lifetime for all you guys. You can't embrace these things. You got to set your mind on what's going to happen when we wouldn't cut down the nets for a national championship to try and get them somehow to believe they're going to win and to also to get them to understand that you can't be happy where you are at this point because that if you get content playing a team like Duke, you're going to get blown out. So you got to be really hungry and believe and that's, we got to foster that type of belief. And if you don't, usually you go home. So we just want to get after it. We know we're playing a great team and there's no question about to have him lost very

6:36much. But we want to foster that type of belief that we're going to win this game. Oh, do handicappers hate that, right? Hope is not a strategy. Belief is not a strategy, right? I mean, this is a, this is almost antithetical to what we try to do to break it down. Like you don't want to get into that hairy high school stuff. But Jensen, you know, this is an athlete. What he's talking about to sometimes teenage kids, right, depending on their age or young men in their early 20s now in this day and age of NIL, belief is what he's selling to St. John's and it comes from a guy who's been there and done that. Is that a real tangible thing? I'm telling you guys, you got to believe it. You got to see it. You got to visualize it. And that's the only way it's actually going to happen. I would say and shout out to one of our greats, one of our OGs, Dr. Nish Gandhi.

7:39While back, I believe it was the week you were off. Mark Meloose has talked about the Johnny's at 90 to one as a future to add to win it all. And it is obviously cascaded way down. We've seen where they've not only gone through the biggest tournament as chance, but where they are currently today. I think what's scary, Dave, have we heard really a lot about Duke? We've tried to give them their do. It's a better respect it because they know themselves. They did not play the best basketball their first weekend. And that will be a motivating factor in its own right. That's what coaches dream of is like, boys, if the same thing that Rick Patino is saying publicly, John Shire is saying to his team is, fellas, St. John's will hottest team if not the hottest team left an tournament. You take them for granted, you do what you did last weekend, you're going to doors blown off you too. I think we should, if you're a St. John's backer, you should be frightened that there is not a lot being said about the blue devils. At one point, Dave, it's about three weeks ago.

8:40We looked at them maybe as the most complete team and now is before the injury to foster. But even now, with the time to ramp up and the time to prepare, well, I would tread lightly. I mean, the, the dookies could have an Arizona-esque performance from what we saw last night. They are chomping at the bit I would gather from being in those locker rooms to say, oh, you better remember, you better remember who we are. So I think that's going to be a fascinating narrative heading into tip off tonight. It is fascinating too, because like Norman Dale and Hoosiers, is he out there, you know, taping to see if the dimensions of the same and hickory as they are at the state championship. I mean, we get into that stuff and those narratives here at this time of year, but Rick Matino, man, he knows he's been there. I don't think he's trying to channel some of that here. And I will tell you this, in DC and lived and worked there for a number of years, it's going to be a lot of St. John's backers there tonight. There will be. And there's going to be a lot of people there going New York City basketball is back and they want to prove it against the dookies tonight.

9:42Major baseball continues. There are three day onslaught of opening week as it continues. Three more teams that we have not seen will finally get their first pitches out today. Jensen, what do we make of it if you're a team that waited? Does it really matter if you're say that the blue jays or the Atlanta brave senior waiting to play that game number one? I mean, everyone's ready to rock, right? You got to sit back and watch at least a day and change of team start off. And you get your opportunity later tonight. You mentioned it. The three games where we'll have six teams get their first games out of the way at the athletics north of the border against the blue jays. Rockies in South Beach take on the Marlins and probably the big one. The marquee tonight. The Royals and the Braves. That one is cold regains against Chris sale at 715 Eastern time. Biggest takeaways from me, man, is the young pups from yesterday. Come on down. Your boy Carson Benj there, first big league homer there in Queens. Kevin McGonigal. A number two overall prospect and baseball for the Detroit Tigers, his four hits.

10:42My guy chased a lotter here in Cleveland, a homer in his first official regular season at bat in the Guardians, find a way to get past the Mariners six to four in the last game of the night. So we got to wait a little bit to the afternoon, Dave. But when Yankees Giants game two of their series gets underway at 435 Eastern, but a lot of offense of the 11 games yesterday, Dave, seven hitting the over a tradition, unlike any other for opening day baseball runs, runs and more runs. By the way, Dodgers back at it, Emmett Sheehan is going to be in the bump here for game number two for the Dodgers against Ryan Nelson, minus 240 in the Dodgers sheen. Is this just one of those? Is he going to be their number two guy here or is it just the way it's going to break here early in the year? Yeah, just the way they're breaking with how they wanted Otoni move back just to make sure he was fully stretched out and the way that they wanted. Just looking at some early lines here, I am going to take the under eight and a half

11:44in the athletics and the Jays matchup. If I'm looking at maybe some money lines, I'd be wary, potentially, where we are with the Rockies in the Marlins, I would lean there, but you might want to go and alternate run line, considering the Marlins, the Marlins have been fed up to almost a two, the Marlins have been fed up to almost a two dollar favorite. I don't care who that's against, just just take that from what it's worth. Totals today, Dave, I would say in all three of those openers, I know they all went over yesterday. If it was a season opener, kind of like the under in all three of those teams season openers later on tonight. Yeah, people have to bet those overs until those three under might hit in those season openers for those teams. We've got four more games tonight here to get down to the elite eights. We'll break down those games in further detail as the show goes. And when you have arguably one of the greatest middle weights of all time in Israel, Adesanya back inside for the main events. We'll break that down with a little bit later on. But baseball is back in our lives. We love it here on the daily time in each and every day. I'm talking about the Dodgers. She ends going to go tonight here in game two for the Dodgers. And we saw Yamamoto go last night in game one. He looked as good as always and they get the eight to two win here in L.A.

15:57I know it's one of 162. I know they're going for three in a row. Do they feel bulletproof to you the Dodgers like did they prove last year that if you couldn't get them then with all the injuries they had remember that podras made that late run in September. I think he even tied it up in the standings momentarily. But I know it's early. But boy, when I look at them and I go they can just reshuffle the deck, if you will. She can go to doesn't really matter once we get a tiny back to where we we want to be in the rotation. Jensen, they feel almost there, I say, infallible. All right. A Lewis Ross administration edict here is that we don't get too high or too low after day one after week one after month one. Our first checkpoint, if you will. Our first 100 days when we truncate that obviously in the baseball calendar right around the May 7 May 8 is when I really start to deep dive.

17:00It allows you a good, you know, five, maybe six times through the rotation. It allows you maybe some young players who might start hot and the league adjust to them. Some veterans maybe that are coming back that might be delayed off the IL and are able to get their first couple of weeks in. So as it pertains to the Dodgers, they have actually a pretty solid opener as far as series go. You're going to get the diamond backs here, who they handled last year, they get the guardians in their next series. And then they head east to take on the Washington nationals. So you could envision them starting off with three consecutive series wins. Now remember it was last year, what did they start seven, eight, no, we never thought they'd lose a game. We see that ingest. But this was also a team Dave that struggled with their bullpen. They had all those rotation injuries. And they still won the division by three games over San Diego when the Padres had every opportunity to be able to circumvent them in September, they couldn't get it done.

18:00Are they bulletproof? We'll see. I think this is the one part you factor in Dave of playing a lot of games and long post seasons. And you don't have as much rest time. Now the Dodgers have kind of found a cheat code. They use the early part of the regular season as an extension of the off season. Take Blake Snell for example, not going to rush him. He's working through, you know, the shoulder fatigue issue, he'll be fine. Do you really need him in the first two months of the year? No, you don't. They're going to be able to kind of take their time and work some of the other starters back as well. They've got a couple of relievers. Our grader all had the shoulder surgery that he's coming back from and he at one point was a key reliever, you know, just a couple of years ago. What I look for early on for people that are trying to kind of get a hold of it. I want to look at consistent turns through the rotation for all teams. I want to look at veterans that are off to better starts.

19:02Then maybe they were just a year ago, was it an adjustment out of spring training? Was it, hey, I just need to get healthy? And then teams with expectations, you know, like the Philadelphia Phillies, you know, like your New York mess, you know, the contenders to the champ, especially in the National League. That's where I'll be. I always take a wait and see. In the first month, you could go 20 and 10. Great. But if you go 10 and 20, I'm not writing you off unless we have season ending injuries to keep players or things of that nature. So always advise people, walk before you run. Overreact positively or negatively to the first week to the first month. Allow these guys to get about 40 games under their belt. And that's the first real checkpoint where you can really get a good litmus test of where some people and some teams are. But you mentioned at the schedule does look favorable for the Dodgers to get off on the good foot and so far, so good for the reigning defendings, trying to make it a three-peat

20:02this year. Okay. You're looking pretty good. I'm doing this is a lot of fun at Joe Frizzo had us do before the tournament. The select to seed standings and I want to update those right now because Jensen. I had the early lead when we started to project as the tournament gets deeper. I still have the lead, but it is getting precarious at best. So it's 127 106. So you go, wow, Dave, you're in great shape. Not really. Head to headwinds have really helped me out here because again, that's where I've got some of the advantage. You see the team's remaining, ah, that would be the hang up here, Jensen. Because I do believe out of the select a seed used to have a one, two, and a three remaining. So you can just gobble up some points down the home stretch here. I think there's fighting a line. I look really good right now. I will state we'll find out about them in Michigan tonight. But Jensen, you have a one, two, and three. All I have left is a four and a six.

21:04That's it. So I've got a little bit of a cushion. It really comes down to can Alabama who offered upset against Michigan. And I really don't have a lot of visions of grandeur for big orange there in Tennessee. Could they beat Iowa State tonight and knock off one of your teams? It really gets down to those head to head matchups here, Jensen. But I got to say, even though I'm in the lead, I think I'd much better rather be in the pole position in coming up the way you are right now from the outside rail. Yeah. We will know come Monday if you are still alive, my friend. And that wouldn't necessitate two upsets here. You would have to get Tennessee through because if not, then I will in all likelihood have a chance to knock you out fully with Michigan and Alabama, the head to head result there should Michigan and Iowa State move on. And that will go ahead and give me the championship because Michigan and Iowa State will match up for the right to head to the final four and then Illinois with a chance on the other

22:04side here. So in our very much a risk analogy from the board game, I have you surrounded. Now can you keep rolling the dice in favor of taking out my infantry? Can you put a dent in my cavalry with potentially knocking off, you know, a Michigan? And having Alabama come through the coup for you, Dave, your only pathway through is if you get both upsets and somehow Illinois for me does not get to the final four. And even then there is viability that let's say, let's say that you shoot the moon here. Okay. You get Alabama to upset Michigan. You get Tennessee to upset Iowa State that guarantees you a spot in the final four. Okay. Then I would need Illinois to beat Iowa to punch their ticket to Indianapolis.

23:06And then it becomes if either of our teams are able to get through the national title game. What world do we live in where Illinois would match up with either Tennessee or Alabama for the right to cut down to the nets. My man, that would be hysterical because we won't know until a week from Monday. Obviously with the final four happening on next Saturday, our last show on Friday. We'll know kind of what what the parameters might be there. But imagine that exacta right now, just in our select the seed realm. If we put Illinois and Tennessee and then in Illinois and Alabama exacta, I'll build that right now. I get your reaction. Tell me what you think on that one. I'll tell you this. I'm going to go kind of not not like Rick Patino did to his kids about you got to believe. I would go more to the John Belushi and animal house route. I'm going to be what's all this line around blank. It wasn't over when the Germans bumper harbor Germans don't stop me.

24:06He's rolling. That's the type of message I would give to Alabama and Tennessee boys. We fight here in a Ross in a Ross administration because the Lewis Ross is a Lewis is looking pretty good part of this administration right now. So we are going to fight to the bitter end. It might be bitter. But Bama, I need to put those big boy pants on tonight, go out and take care of business against Michigan. And then we are still alive. Because until they tell us that there's no fight left to be had, we will fight on this side of the aisle. Good sir. What is that? Okay. Was that parlay locally? This is the parlay. Tennessee to meet the championship game is a plus 63 60. So about 64 to one Illinois and Alabama to meet a cool 206 to one. Should you have a select a seed, exact a matchup come Monday night. 26:08The one and only Loof and a Carol joins us now here on the Progressive Gas Line. And Lou, before we get to this card, you picked Illinois to win the national championship my friend. You're looking pretty darn good right now with the fight in the line eye. Good morning guys. Thanks for having me on. Humans had Tim Brando on his show right before the tournament started and Brando was very vocal about none of the ones getting there. He sold me hook line and sinker. And so in order to try and manipulate my way into some kind of finish in the bracket, I used Illinois and right now it's paying off a little bit. We're going to have to do something with my alma mater, Arizona, but I think that will happen in time. So we'll see. But these games, yeah, yesterday, as well the games today, yeah, there were a lot of favorites marching into this weekend. But boy, the games this weekend are going to be awesome.

27:10You got that right, Lou, our esteemed executive producer, Steve Cohen, obviously loving what his Arizona Wildcat took like last night. You should 60% from three, 60% from the field. No one is beating that team. I don't care who you are to that end though. Is there some synergy if we kind of cross promote, if you will, where the big heavyweights left in this NCAA tournament are with this main card for UFC fight night? Is there a similar Illinois, Illinois, Arizona fighter on this main card that you've identified kind of give me an eye on on where you look at where this main card shapes up? Well, I'd be in compare, it's hard for me to compare it to basketball basketball. Jensen only because a short, sad Italian that can't jump doesn't have awful lot to say about basketball. But what I will say about the card is that it's, it sets up to be a good card. Listen, we've had unusually high 76.7% favorites marching in the UFC so far this year.

28:16Then will we see a few dogs more than one, two, or three on a fight card. And I think this fight card could surprise us with some underdogs. I don't know if that answers the question, but that's where I'll go. I think it does though, Lou, because again, you know, favorites have been kind of ruled the day so far in March, man, just to a large degree. And it's been the same here in the UFC. Now, the main card, extremely main events, some of these dogs have been biting a little bit so far early in 2026. Joe Piper is a small dog against Israel, Adesanya. Now, this is arguably one of the greatest middleweight champions we've ever seen. I don't even know if that's arguable. I think that that's just in fact, fact, but Israel, Adesanya has not looked like that great Israel, Adesanya the last couple of times out. And what I've noticed, Lou, is as a main event or, you know, five rounds potential to go, not that he gasses, but that if he can't get you out of there right away with that great counter-striking, we've known Israel, Adesanya, to have through the years, that, you know,

29:20you might be able to get a lake takedown like DDP did and get it finished and Nazardine and Imavov. Really pressured is he and got him out of there. Like you're starting to see him get finished in fights here, Lou. What do we make from Adesanya? Are we willing to back him as almost $1.50 betting favorite and God bless you? Excuse me. And yeah, I think I think you set that up pretty perfectly, Dave. This fights handicap comes down to whether you think that Piper realized that he had cardio problems in an earlier fight against Hermannson when he couldn't, when he gasped. And what we think of Adesanya now at 36, almost 37 years old, he's talking, he's saying all the right stuff. But if I had a nickel for every mature fighter that talks about knowing exactly what they have to do, but aren't able to do it because of their age, I'd be Warren Buffett. And I think that's a little bit where is he is. Now when we look at who he's lost to, Imav, DDP, Strickland, these are world-class elite

30:26fighters. Where does Piper compare with those guys? I don't think he's on their level, but he's big, he's strong. He's dynamically younger than Adesanya and he packs power. So I really go back and forth on this fight and I can't say that I have a strong feel on the total or which way it goes, but with a gun to my head, I'd have to take Piper the younger fighter here to do what we've seen other guys do to Adesanya, despite the fact that Adesanya believes in his brain, he knows what to do and we know he knows what to do. But can father time execute that through his body? Lew, I'm as big a James Bond fan as there is and anytime I can weave in specter Tunisia and the UFC, you just have to do it. And fortunately on this main card, we've got a Tunisian Dutch kickboxer that is a dog as short one at that, almost even money that you kind of like here, give us a breakdown

31:28on what you like about that fight. Really impressed with this Belgarui long tall world class kickboxing and usually such a singularly dimensioned fighter, especially fighting a guy that does have some wrestling background would cause me to raise an eyebrow and this fight does to an extent. The issue is his Mansour Abdul Malik is fallen in love with his hands. He doesn't wrestle though I believe he'll try in this fight. And Belgarui has been in training with world class competition, most recently training under Glover Tashira who's a world class grappler and Alex Pereira who has evolved from a kickboxing striker into a well-rounded mixed martial artist. I think Belgarui is going to have enough talent, enough movement in a big gauge to keep Malik at the edge of his kicks and strikes.

32:29And I think he paints his fans here as Malik who's not used to being a shorter guy that has to earn his way into the pocket, has to strive to try and do that. I think Belgarui is in a good position here, even though many people may not know a lot of them. I'd like to credit Jensen Lewis, that might have been the question of the year to get James Bond in that setup. That was fantastic. I look up and down this card here this week, Lou. And I see Ricky Simone gets angry me on it, Yangiaz here on the undercard, Navajo sterling back in this card, Chase Hooper's back in this card as well. I mean, there's a lot of big name fighters that are on the prelims in this fight card. That's how dynamic this can be. But you're looking at Marcine Taibura at plus money and you think he might be the way to go here against Tyrol Fortune. What do you like about Taibura as a dog in this spot? I like the fact that Taibura has plenty of UFC experience. I like the fact that that oftentimes he can get overwhelmed early, but he does have some

33:32dog in him. And if he can weather a storm, he can be there. And I think that the fact that he wants to be there, that he's trying to remain relevant as well. The fact that he has that UFC experience sets him up against this guy, Fortune, Fortune's 35 years old. Why hasn't he been in the UFC yet? Well, there's a reason why. Let's weave in a little elite eight Arizona money line to move on to the final four. If you had to parlay the wild cats with maybe your best bet and your favorite of the card, what would you recommend maybe getting us a little plus money price? I'd take the cats and I'd use, I would use the cats and this is my maybe best angle for an underdog. And I'd use Julian Erosa. Erosa is from the Seattle area. He's fighting at home. He has a wealth of UX FC experience. He's the taller man. He's the slightly older man, but he's going to have reach and he's taking on this guy Douglas from Brazil who enters off the contender series. Contender series fighters that come into the UFC that are big favorites can sometimes

35:35have dubious results. And if Erosa, who can be chiny and Douglas is a power puncher, so there's risk. If Erosa can manage this fight through the first round, all the guy, all the submission game is his. And I think he could even finish our boy Douglas Erosa straights a plus two 20 or so Erosa finish any finish plus 380. So if you're looking to take a big bite, Erosa inside the distance plus 380 would set up well with that chalky Arizona side. Juicy J, that would be a juicy parlay right there. So we saw what Iowa did yesterday, really in that second half against Nebraska, they played much better defense. They got out there in those shooters, they shut down Nebraska offensively in that second half and they come back from double digits down the first half and get out of there with another win and now they're going to play the fight in a lie and I who were all over Houston in Houston, which was the impressive part about that. I think they said, Jensen, it was like a three mile, uh, John for Houston to get from campus to the arena last night. So it was a de facto home game for Houston, didn't bother Illinois, they get the double digit win. You see this number now at seven, we had Thomas Gabel on and hour number one, go back

39:42and listen, wherever you get your podcasts, like subscribe to be some other books. I don't know that that Thomas wants any part of Iowa in this matchup. Have we undersold, I know you haven't, uh, have we undersold just how formidable this Illinois team can be? I mean, if you look at yesterday as an example, uh, they play that way, they're going to blow the doors off the hot guys, uh, so I already would lean towards Illinois minus six and a half and I agree with, with Thomas Gabel wholeheartedly, I mean, if, if Illinois is anywhere close to the efficiency they had, uh, on defense and limiting Houston, uh, from the perimeter of the way they did, I mean, what this, what does Iowa have? The caveat is the familiarity, right? It's a big 10 matchup. Uh, these teams have played each other already this year, a handful of times. And I think if you go back, maybe, and look and, and I'll bring up those results here just to have a point of context, you can take away some things, uh, from those matchups.

40:45But this is a different team than, and, and that goes for both sides, uh, you look at, at the last time these two locked horns together, um, that was way back on January 11th. Now, that was only a six point win for Illinois, 75 61, okay, that was in Iowa city. Um, that is also going to be, uh, the only time, uh, that I'm seeing here in the big 10 regular season that those teams met. So, hey, take what it's worth. Illinois has, uh, ahead to head victory. They've done it already in that game, uh, they've just food for thought. Um, that was Illinois with a, with an 11 point lead at halftime. And then Iowa fought their way back, uh, to try and at least make it a game. That's also, uh, a game in which Illinois shot 49% from the field, 36% from three point range. So I, I think there are things to take out of it, but there's also, uh, that point of,

41:50okay, I will playing now as a completely different team, I think mentally and confidence wise. They are on house money. They know it. They're going to play free and easy. The pressure now moves to Illinois and it's ironic. Dave, you bring up the Houston home game, the cookers had last night. All the pressure was on Houston. Hey, you, you got here. This was the expectation. You've got a regional semi final in your own backyard. You should be able to have the leverage points you're looking for. Not so fast, my friend. Uh, that is going to be a uniqueness that is no longer there. And if you're Illinois, don't really need to change too much, Dave, from what I saw yesterday tomorrow when they take the court at night against the hot guys. You mentioned that first match up here, uh, one by Illinois. And if you did that math and added that together, you almost get to what the total is 138 and a half is what this total is here. And again, sitting in six and a half in case you were wondering the first time these two teams matched up, Iowa in Illinois, ever was back in 1908.

42:53It was February 14th. I didn't cover that game. Uh, the final score in that day was 46 to 36 in an Iowa. I think Iowa city where they played that game would have liked that style of game. I think the point is if we believe that Iowa in this iteration in 2026 is going to have any shot, that would have to be an underplay, wouldn't it? Because I look at it and I go, I don't think they can fight fire with Illinois. I just don't think they can. I was a little surprised that Houston didn't try to do that early. They tried in the second half and ironically had more success weight than they did early. If you play a knockdown, uh, if you play a shooter's game with Illinois, I think you're going to lose. They got bigs. It can step out and shoot it. They got pay just a story out of it. Just kid who can go inside outside on you here. I feel like they've, they've got more weapons. The one caveat though to that logic would be is that Illinois does give up their fair share of three pointers. So what style do you think I would have to play? Muck it up or say, okay, like Nebraska will shoot with their shooters. I didn't think they think they get out shooting Nebraska.

43:53They did. I don't think they can out shoot Illinois. No, and not on a quick turnaround either. Uh, I don't know if we're getting, you know, that kind of performance. Again, with what I would did from distance, they hit 43% of their three pointers. Uh, against Nebraska and they shot 30 of them. So buyer beware. Uh, if you're taking the Hawkeyes to cover at that, no official play for me just yet. I would love to see where the money ends up overnight and into the early hours tomorrow. And then maybe if there's some late surge, but I would be laying the six and a half. If you're looking to make a play right now, uh, I'd find a six and a half and I'd back the alignite. You know, same number here for Arizona against Purdue, six and a half, uh, a little bit different on the total here. We're up to one 51 and a half in this one here. So expecting some more points after we saw Arizona put up, uh, you know, cool century, uh, mark plus yesterday and that wind just kept scoring at will last night against Arkansas. So again, kind of like Iowa, we think Arizona can keep this going.

44:56Iowa, I don't think we can with that type of shooting. If you're Purdue, do you want to muck it up here? Because again, Arkansas tried to run with them and they got run right out of the building. I don't mind. Uh, I don't, I don't think it matters, uh, stylistically, you know, where these teams are at. And I think this is now more of a Purdue team, even with the scare. Like if you got your, your little scare out of the way, well, Texas, you know, then, then you're on house money. Other parts are remembered too and, and the Arizona score, uh, is what it is. They only shot eight, three pointers, Dave. They were getting anything they wanted, uh, anywhere, you know, within the paint, they had, uh, all five starters in double figures. Uh, they, they didn't really need to use their perimeter shooting. But and you think about the overall narrative of Arizona throughout this year. That was going to be the holdup if they couldn't shoot from the perimeter. They were going to be toast. Well, I, I give you the Purdue boy, the makers who have, you know, two of the better sharpshooters

46:00in Fletcher lawyer and, and Braden Smith, listen, Fletcher lawyer hit four of eight. He had all four of the three pointers that Purdue hit and, and they shot 20 of them. I don't think they're shooting 20% from distance again tomorrow night. So I think you get positive regression for Purdue, uh, from the perimeter. And will we get any added three point attempts from Arizona? Or will they try and go big for big down in the post, fascinating stylistic matchup? I don't think Purdue is scared in the slightest. This is the number one team in the beginning of the year. Are they playing like a number one team right now? They're pretty damn close and I'm very anxious to see how this first 10 minutes transpires tomorrow night. Yeah, Arizona just doesn't shoot the three. They, that's just not a, uh, a formula for them to, to victory, right? And it's kind of, I don't want to say it's anti analytical because we know that there's a lot of, you know, it's, it's a lot of teams now that like to shoot the three, uh, for that reason. But they're getting to the rim, as you mentioned, Jensen, they got whatever they want to down low.

47:01So they're going to attack now Purdue does have some bigs. So we talk about how games are called. I think that'll be very important because remember on that play and the three pointer for Texas to tie it up, their center got fouled out on that play had that game gone in overtime. Purdue might have been in real trouble. Well, Arizona's going to do that. They're going to keep coming. They're going to keep rim, rim running. They're going to keep keep playing downhill and force you to guard, uh, inside the lane. And that's a rarity in college basketball this day. These days, because normally it's, you're defending outside, right? Well, we saw Iowa in Nebraska. You're defending three point shots. Now, Arizona, you're going to be defending down low. Can you do it Purdue? If you can, you got a shot. If you can force them to shoot threes, then you're already winning because that's not the way Arizona likes to play. They want to attack that rim and they do it better than most. When we come back, let's get into the daily diamond. It's still opening day for three more teams.
