उत्कृष्टस्य क्षेपणम्

रमणमहर्षेः आश्रमस्य समीपे कश्चन अध्यापकः निवसति स्म यस्य गृहे प्रतिदिनं कलहमयं वातावरणं भवति स्म । एतस्मात् जुगुप्सितः सः आत्महत्यां कर्तुं निर्णीतवान् ।  किन्तु आत्महत्यानिर्णयः न सुकरः इति विचिन्त्य मार्गदर्शनं प्राप्तुं सः रमणमहर्षेः आश्रमं गत्वा सर्वं निवेदितवान् । तदा महर्षिः केनचित् निर्दर्शनेन दर्शयति यत् 'योग्यम् उपयोगम् अस्वीकृत्य कस्यचित् वस्तुनः क्षेपणं न उचितम् । तथापि उपयोगसमाप्तितः पूर्वम् एव उत्कृष्टस्य वस्तुनः क्षेपणे उद्युक्तः अस्ति भवान्' इति । ततः अध्यापकः आत्महत्याचिन्तनं परित्यज्य उत्तमजीवनस्य यापने मतिं कृतवान् ।

Near the ashram of Ramana Maharshi, a teacher lived in a quarrelsome atmosphere at home every day. Because of this, he decided to commit suicide. However, considering that the decision to commit suicide was not easy, he went to Ramana Maharshi's ashram for guidance and explained everything to him. Ramana Maharshi showed that it is not right to discard something useful without proper use. He said, ‘You are ready to discard something valuable before its use is completed’. After hearing this, the teacher gave up the idea of suicide and decided to lead a good life.
