Vagbhata was a renowned ancient physician. Once, Dhanvantari decided to test the physicians of the earth. Disguised as a parrot, he asked three times, “Ko’ruk? Ko’ruk? Ko’ruk?” (meaning, “Who is truly healthy?”). The physicians gave various answers, but none satisfied him. When he asked Vagbhata, the reply was: “One who eats wholesome food, moderate food, and warm food.” By this he meant that diet should be beneficial, taken in moderation, and warm. Dhanvantari was pleased with this answer.
