सन्तोषस्य प्राप्तिः

सर्वविधानि आनुकूल्यानि भोगसाधनानि च सन्ति चेदपि कस्यचित् धनिकस्य जीवने सन्तोषस्य अभावः आसीत् । कदाचित् स्वनगरं प्रति आगतवते संन्यासिने स्वस्य दुःखं निवेदयति । तदा संन्यासी दर्शयति यत् केवलं धनसङ्ग्रहणमात्रेण सन्तोषः न प्राप्यते । धनस्य वितरणं करणीयम् । दीनानां सेवा करणीया । परोपकारः चिन्तनीयः । तस्मात् अपारः सन्तोषः प्राप्स्यते इति । तस्मात् दिनात् सः धनिकः सम्पत्तेः वितरणम् आरब्धवान् ।  ततः तस्य सन्तोषः दिने दिने अवर्धत ।
(“केन्द्रीयसंस्कृतविश्वविद्यालयस्य अष्टादशीयोजनान्तर्गततया एतासां कथानां ध्वनिप्रक्षेपणं क्रियते”)
Even though a wealthy man had all kinds of conveniences and means of enjoyment, his life lacked satisfaction. Once, he expressed his sorrow to a sage who visited his town. The sage then showed him that satisfaction cannot be achieved merely through the accumulation of wealth. Wealth should be distributed. The poor should be served. From this, immense satisfaction will be attained. From that day on, the wealthy man started distributing his wealth. Then his satisfaction increased day by day.
