दृष्टिशोधनम्

कदाचित् ब्रह्मविदम् आचार्यम् उपसर्प्य कौचित् ब्रह्मचारिणौ ब्रह्मविद्याम् उपदेष्टुं प्रार्थितवन्तौ । तदा आचार्यः तयोः परीक्षां कृतवान् । तयोः एकः एव परीक्षाम् उत्तीर्णः सन् ब्रह्मविद्यालाभार्थम् अधिकारी जातः । ततः आचार्यः 'सर्वत्रापि सर्वस्मिन्नपि वस्तुनि भगवन्तं पश्येत् । कस्मिंश्चिपि असत्कर्मणि प्रवृत्तिं न दर्शयेत् । तदा एव भगवान् तव सम्मुखे तिष्ठेत् .....’ इत्यादिभिः वचनैः तं ब्रह्मचारिणं ब्रह्मविद्यालाभस्य उपायं बोधयति ।
(“केन्द्रीयसंस्कृतविश्वविद्यालयस्य अष्टादशीयोजनान्तर्गततया एतासां कथानां ध्वनिप्रक्षेपणं क्रियते”)

Once, two students approached a spiritual teacher, requesting instruction in sacred knowledge. The teacher tested them, and only one passed the examination, becoming eligible to learn Brahmavidyā. The teacher then instructed him: “See the Divine in everything, in every object. Never engage in unrighteous deeds. Only then will the Lord truly stand before you…” With such words, the teacher revealed the path to attaining Brahmavidyā.
