早期臺東成功鎮沿海以養殖九孔為主要產業，成功商水水產殖學程近年也將九孔繁養殖作為特色課程，除了傳授養殖技術，近年師生更著手研發醃九孔、九孔干貝醬等加工食品，從中學習配方調製，也在校內販售，跨足餐飲及商業領域，由於成功商水沒有實習商店，2項加工食品僅在校內販售，推出後深獲教職員工好評。校長邱申寶琪表示，水產養殖學程致力於九孔養殖，慢慢拓展到食品加工，研發獨門配方，希望透過系列課程，落實108課綱的跨領域學習，期許未來能將成果推廣到社區，吸引更多喜歡水產養殖的學生加入成功商水。
