國立頭城高級家事商業職業學校全校近800位學生，特教學生就有一百多位，五年前，特教老師林育鼎發現，特教學生因為個人障礙衍生的學習、生活及人際關係，導致他們在學校生活「沒有想像中容易」，因此，頭城家商開始了「融合運動」，除了把運動當成平臺，提供學校學生「跨越障礙」的相處機會，更在校內成立「特殊奧運融合運動校隊」，透過比賽校隊，正式招募特教生與一般生「融合」在一起。
