श्रमात् ऋते प्राप्तं न एष्टव्यम्

'श्रमं विना निश्शुल्कं यत् प्राप्येत तत् न स्वीकरणीयम् । भगवान् हस्तपादं यत् दत्तवान् तस्य उपयोगेन जीवनं चिन्तनीयं, न तु निश्शुल्कं प्राप्यमाणस्य स्वीकरणे प्रवृत्तिः दर्शनीया' इति मातुः वचनानुसारं काचित् बालिका गुजरातप्रदेशे रविशङ्करमहाराजेन वितीर्यमाणं गुडं न स्वीकृतवती । बालिकायाः वचनम् आश्चर्येण शृण्वन् रविशङ्करः बालिकया सह गृहं गत्वा स्वाभिमानपाठं बोधितवतीं मातरं दृष्ट्वा नमस्कृतवान् ।

"Anything that is obtained without effort and free of cost should not be accepted.
