सुहृदयः महाशयः

कश्चित् आजीविकाम् अन्विष्यन् ग्रामतः मुम्बापुरीम् आगत्य श्रमिकैः सम्मिल्य कस्याञ्चित् निर्माणशालायां कार्यं करोति स्म। स्वकीयधारणाय अपेक्षितं धनं स्वसमीपे संरक्ष्य शेषं ग्रामे निवसन्त्यै मात्रे प्रेषयति स्म । कदाचित् सः शतरूप्यकाणि मात्रे प्रेषयितुम् इच्छन् एकं संक्षिप्तं लखं विलिख्य रूप्यकैः सह पत्रम् एकस्मिन् पुटके निधाय गृहगमनाय लोकयानम् आरूढवान् ।  लेखेन आर्जितद्रव्येण च सहितं पुटकं केनापि चातुर्येण चोरितम् आसीत् । किन्तु यः तं धनं चोरितवान् सः पत्रं पठित्वा द्रुतहृदयः जातः । सप्तानां दिनानाम् अनन्तरं शतरूप्यकैः सह मातुः चिकित्सायै सहस्ररूप्यकाणि अपि प्रेषितवान् ।

A man searching for a livelihood came to Mumbai from a village and started working in a construction site among laborers. He saved the money he needed for his expenses and sent the rest to his mother residing in the village. Once, wishing to send a hundred rupees to his mother, he wrote a brief letter and placed it with the money in a small pouch, then boarded a bus to go home. The pouch containing the letter and the earned money was cleverly stolen by someone. However, the thief's heart melted after reading the letter. Seven days later, in addition to sending a hundred rupees, the thief also sent a thousand rupees for the mother's treatment."
