A wealthy man named Govallabha, who had spent his life indulging in pleasures, became afflicted with illness in old age. One day, while immersed in worry, he happened to hear a sweet song. Feeling joy from it, Govallabha called the cobbler who sang it, gave him some money, and requested him to return the next day and sing a similar song. However, the next day, the cobbler came back and returned the money, saying, “With the worry of safeguarding the money, I was unable to remember God. Possessing wealth brings joy, but also suffering.” Hearing this, Govallabha gained wisdom. He then distributed his wealth among the poor and devoted himself to the remembrance of God. As a result, even his illness disappeared.
