Sahasrapada, a gifted sage's son, often mocked others. One day, he crafted a snake from dry grass and threw it onto his classmate Svagama, startling him into unconsciousness. Upon awakening, Svagama cursed Sahasrapada, declaring he would be reborn as a non-venomous snake. When Sahasrapada pleaded for forgiveness, Svagama foretold that in the future, he would meet the son of Pramata from the Bhrigu lineage, who would guide him to freedom from the curse. Thus, Sahasrapada was reborn as a harmless snake named Dundubha. Later, meeting Ruru, he was finally released from the curse.
